The Broken Road

Chapter 7

Because the last time you saw me

Is still burned in the back of your mind

It turns out freedom ain't nothin' but missin' you

Wishin' I'd realized what I had when you were mine. You gave me all your love and all I gave you was goodbye.

"Who gives a damn about the company! I worked endless hours staying in empty hotel rooms or pent houses. Alone. Traveling."

"Clothes over bros wasn't worth what i lost." Brooke proclaimed.

"No one cares about a rich woman's sadness or misery." Victoria replied.

"Let us know when the store is open so we can make an appearance." Ted added in.

Brooke couldn't hold back the truth a minute longer.

"Lucas didn't ruin my life. He made it better."

"He saw the real me. And loved her."

"I got pregnant on purppose back then."

"I wanted to be tied to Lucas forever." Brooke confessed.

Victoria slapped her in the face. Brooke pushed against her mother.

"Then you're more stupid then i realized." Victoria replied.

Brooke left after that finding herself just driving around.

Needing to clear her head.

...

The Scott Home

Karen was home by now with Keith.

It was just Lucas and Josephine in the house.

As Josephine danced to the music in her room. She hadn't even noticed her dad had been knocking.

"I didn't mean to interupt. I just wanted to give you these." Lucas said. Placing a box on her desk.

"I'll let you know when dinner is here." Lucas added in. Before leaving the room. And going downstairs into the living room.

Josephine ran her hands over the box.

From Brooke Davis

To Josephine Scott

The label on the box read. She uncovered the box which was a dark purple. She uncovered it carefully.

Her eyes lighting up when she saw all the envelopes addressed to her.

...

"I just don't see any reason things need to change because she decides to come back to town."

"We are doing just fine without her." Lucas said.

"You and Jo are doing great. But given how she reacted to finding out about the letters. There is apart of her curious and wanting to know about her mom."

"My dad has his reservations about Ellie being in my life when she showed up. But he gave her a chance i'm forever grateful for it."

"Especially when i found out how limited our time together would be. You know her getting to know Brooke won't change the close relationship the two of you have right?" Peyton questioned.

"I'm not threatened by that." Lucas replied.

"Good because you she has room in her life and heart for the both of you." Peyton reassured him.

"I'm ordering take out. Have dinner with us?" Lucas suggested.

"I would love too." Peyton replied.

...

Later on that night

Brooke couldn't be more surprised to find Lucas at her door.

"I think Josephine could only benefit from having you in her life."

"I'm willing to try and let the two of you have a relationship."

"If you're serious about sticking around town." Lucas explained.

"I am. I meant what i said about leaving my heart here."

"Thank you for giving me this chance." Brooke replied.

"You're welcome. We should have each other's contact information. It'll make all this easier." Lucas suggested.

He handed her in cellphone and she did the same.

Once the added the numbers. They gave back the phones.

"Welcome back Brooke." Lucas said. Before leaving.
