Lori Loud was absolutely miserable; she and Bobby were fighting. They rarely get into arguments like this, but when they do, it's bad. And this time, Bobby actually said he was dumping her.
While Lucy usually stayed out of things like this, romance being pointless due to the futility of life... even so, she didn't like seeing her older sister so sad.
She tried to comfort Lori by bringing her various things as the teen tried and failed to get over Bobby.
Lori was genuinely in love with Bobby; he was her everything, and they had been together for what felt like forever. They had never fought this badly before.
Now, after four days of non-stop work, Lucy was starting to get tired of it.
"Could s-s-someone please get me something to eat?" The eldest of the Loud siblings asked through her sobs, since everyone else was busy or hiding Lucy was left with no choice.
Lucy sighed. "I guess I'll do it," Lucy said in a monotone voice with just a hint of annoyance.
As Lucy made her way down stairs she thought to herself, "It's starting to feel like she's just using us so she doesn't have to do anything...I've never seen her allow herself to ugly cry in front of us… sigh, I hope Bobby comes back soon so we don't have to deal with this anymore".
almost as if it were divine intervention, a light knock came at the door right as Lucy was passing by, she opened it up to see none other than Bobby Santiago holding a box full of random items and knickknacks, "Oh, hey spooky… how's it going?"
Lucy ignored his question, "Are you here to make up with Lori?" the goth asked almost desperately...
Bobby winced and laughed nervously, "Well, uh, actually… no, I'm not".
Lucy let out a "sigh". "Then why are you here?"
Bobby proceeded to hand her the box of stuff, "that's all of Lori's stuff I had, tell her she can keep whatever she has that was mine".
Bobby turned abruptly heading he back to his car, probably to avoid the chance of running into his ex-girlfriend.
While Lucy was still young, not quite considered a teen at just twelve, she had seen enough dream boat and Vampire's of Melancholia to know what it meant when someone gave you back your stuff after a breakup.
There was no truer end to a relationship than it meant they were truly done with you, it was over and they were getting rid of any reason they'd have to see you again.
Lucy felt herself start to panic. If Lori had really lost Bobby, she'd be fetching her soup for the rest of her life—a fate far worse than death.
Lucy tried to think in the short window she had, she could go get Lori so they could talk this out, fix what they had, but Bobby was already on his way to his car, he'd be gone by the time Lori got out there.
Lincoln was a good option as he was close with Bobby, but Bobby would be gone by the time she got Lincoln outside.
Lucy realized she was the only person who could stop Bobby from leaving. While she wasn't particularly good at convincing people, Lucy had to try at the very least because she couldn't listen to another tearful rant about how much Lori loved and missed Bobby.
