Team Legacy Original Saga Episode V: Stranded In The Middle Of Nowhere

Author's Notes:

Hey, guys! So yeah it's been a while but I had a really hard time coming up with a good plot for this episode and I finally decided to focus it around the first batch of Legendary Pokemon that were introduced in the Pokemon franchise - Lugia, Moltres, Articuno and Zapdos. I was also going to create three new Digimon OCs, including a monkey one, but I had such a difficult time coming up with ideas that worked that I decided on the only good idea that I actually had and so I decided to focus on only one Digimon OC and just focus the large majority of the plot on the legendary Pokemon.

Also I found out that the guy playing Steve Olson is going to be coming back for the Bill Hayes tribute several months down the road and so I decided that now was a good time to bring him in. I am also planning to do more storylines with him later on in the series and I'm even planning to introduce his offspring later on in a future episode down the road, (I'm still bouncing ideas in my head about that and I'm also debating on how many kids I'm actually going to give him since he has only one kid so far that we know of).

Anyways I hope you enjoy this episode and I'll try to update this as often as I can depending on what's going on in my life and how hectic my schedule gets.

Chapter 1

FEBRUARY 2002

MARINO MANOR

MIAMI, FLORIDA

Lee was in the throes of a horrific and terrifying nightmare as she found herself relieving a particularly troubling memory from her past. She saw herself standing in the middle of her penthouse back in Salem as she watched Brent Cavanaugh entering the elevator with a gun in hand from her closed circuit TV.

She then remembered Brent entering her apartment and grabbing Julie before hauling her over to the couch with a gun pointed at her head. The next thing that she knew, however, Lee was hurtling a vase right at him and smashing it right into his head, killing him instantly. The last thing that she remembered before waking up was looking down at his lifeless, motionless body on the floor.

"Mami!" a young girl's voice cried out from a distance as Lee quickly sat up in her bed, panting and gasping heavily.

She then exhaled sharply and took a moment to collect herself before rolling right out of bed as she rushed out of the bedroom.

"Coming, darling!" she hollered.

Moments later, she entered the kitchen as she noticed that a middle-aged and heavyset Hispanic woman with short, dark and curly black hair, light olive skin, large, round dimples and dark brown eyes was standing in front of the sink washing dishes while her three young children were sitting at the table eating breakfast.

Two of them were fraternal twins, with one being a girl named Meryl with light olive skin, dark hazel green eyes, and long, wavy and straight black hair, while the other was a boy named Malcolm who had short, dark black hair, dark brown eyes, and light olive skin. The younger of the two was also a boy named Vincent who had light, fair skin, dark black hair, dark brown eyes and a long, narrow and pasty looking face with a thin, lanky and small build.

The Marino siblings were also accompanied by another young girl named Nevaeh who was roughly the same age as Meryl except she also had dark, medium, curly and wavy black hair tied in pigtails, dark brown eyes, light olive skin, large, round dimples and a slightly pudgy, chubby and petite build.

"Buenos dias, Senora Lee!" the Hispanic woman greeted her with a warm smile.

"Morning, Yolanda," Lee smiled back demurely as she walked over to her kids and showered them with affectionate hugs and kisses. "Morning, my loves."

"Morning, Mami," Meryl replied back with a cheerful smile.

"Now finish up your breakfast or you're all going to miss the bus," Lee ordered. "Now I better get going; I have a meeting to attend to at work. Your father is going to be gone on a business trip for a whole week so mind Yolanda, you hear?"

"Yes, Mama," Malcolm nodded earnestly as he scooped a spoonful of Fruit Loops into his mouth.

"There's a good lad," Lee smirked as she walked over to caress Malcolm gently on the head. "Picture day should also be arriving soon so whenever I get the chance, I'm going to have Yolanda take you guys to get a nice haircut."

She then turned around and waved goodbye before she left the kitchen and headed out of the house.

"Bye, loves!"

"Bye, Mami!"

Lee then quickly rushed over to her car with her briefcase and purse in hand as she jumped into the driver's seat and slammed the door shut; she then turned on the engine and hurriedly pulled out of the driveway as she sped away from the mansion and headed in the direction of her planned destination.

Less than an hour later, Lee arrived at Marino Resort & Spa as she barged right into the front lobby while quickly walking straight towards the direction of a nearby elevator.

"Mrs. Marino, there's a Mr. Steven Olson waiting for you in your office," the front desk clerk called out after her.

"Oh, for fuck's sake," Lee muttered underneath her breath as she marched over to the elevator and got inside before the doors slammed shut in front of her.

A few minutes later, Lee stormed right into her office as her eyes flashed with seething anger upon noticing a handsome and debonair middle-aged man with dark brown hair standing right near her desk with a glass of Scotch in hand.

"What the hell do you think you're doing here in my office?!" she snarled, her eyes narrowed.

"Lee Dumonde, as I live and breathe," Steve greeted her with a warm smile as he slowly turned around to face her.

"I go by Lee Marino now, in case you haven't noticed," Lee scoffed disdainfully.

"I know," Steve replied, his gaze never leaving her face as if he appeared to be studying her intently. "I'm here to tell you that my employers are anxious to start their excavation project in Kansas as soon as possible. They are hoping to uncover some rare and priceless artifacts that they can then transport and sell to London to some interested buyers. There is one area in particular that they're hoping to focus their efforts and resources on."

"And that is…?" Lee demanded, raising an eyebrow.

Steve then picked up a small remote and pushed a button, revealing a single static image of a quaint and old farmhouse projected on the T.V. screen.

"There is a town called Nowhere that's been rumored to have had some strange and bizarre goings on for many years now. However, there appears to be an old couple that lives in that farmhouse so we must tread carefully and not stir up any unnecessary trouble."

"Of course," Lee nodded.

"Mr. and Mrs. Kapoor would also like for us to be at that excavation site no later than tomorrow. I can make arrangements to book the next available flight," Steve added.

"All right then; I'll just let my nanny know that I'll be gone for a while," Lee sighed with a nod.

"It was nice seeing you, Lee; farewell," Steve said as he polished off his glass of Scotch before he set it down on Lee's desk and walked out of the office.

Then as soon as Steve was gone, Lee dug into her purse and took out her cell phone as she dialed a number and called Yolanda.

"Yolanda? Hello, this is Lee. Something came up just now and I'm afraid that I won't be able to make it home tonight. I expect to be away on important business for at least a couple of days if not a full week. Can you make sure that the kids get home safely this afternoon and that dinner is on the table for them tonight? All right, thank you…"

Meanwhile, Steve was standing outside Lee's office as he was making a surreptitious call to a mysterious person.

"Hello, General; Steve Olson here. Yes, we're ready to start the excavation process now. Do me a favor though and make sure that those old people aren't there when we officially start digging. All right, thank you. Take care."

He then hung up and put his cell phone away as an evil smirk crossed his lips.

Meanwhile, at an old farmhouse in the small town of Nowhere, Kansas, an elderly couple and a fuchsia male dog of an undetermined breed were fast asleep in their bedroom. Just then, they awoke to the sounds of loud noises and yelling coming from downstairs.

"Eustace, is there someone in the house?" Muriel mumbled in a sleepy and groggy voice as she sat up in bed.

Courage shrugged as he also rose to his feet and glanced around the dark room suspiciously.

Just then, the bedroom door swung open as a group of soldiers stormed into the bedroom while pointing a bright flashlight in their weapons and aiming their weapons at them.

"What's going on?" Eustace demanded, shielding his eyes from the bright light shining down on his face.

"Seize them!" the General ordered, pointing at them.

A pair of soldiers then sauntered over to Muriel and Eustace and grabbed them by the arms as they dragged them out of the bedroom screaming and yelling with terror.

"Courage, help!" Muriel wailed.

"Muriel!" Courage yelled, his body shaking with cold fear.

Another soldier then walked up to Courage and grabbed him before clamping down a pair of metal handcuffs on his paws and whisking him out of the bedroom.

The Bagge family was then hauled out of the house with soldiers flanking around them as they were then tossed into the back of a black military van.

"Let's get them out of here," the General ordered.

"Let us out of here, please!" Muriel pleaded as she watched the doors slam shut right before her eyes.

The black military van then drove away from the old farmhouse as it headed off for its intended destination.

"Well that takes care of things," Steve declared with a triumphant smirk as he watched the vehicle leave.

"You didn't tell me that old couple had a dog with them," Lee scoffed disdainfully with narrowed eyes.

"It's just a mutt; he shouldn't be too much trouble," Steve retorted with a shrug and a pointed glare.

"All right," Lee sighed as she took out a cigarette and lit it up before taking a short drag. "So what are we going to do with that farmhouse now?"

"We're going to raze it at dawn and then we should begin work on our excavation project," Steve answered.

Lee chuckled with a smirk at his response.

"Well this is going to be fun."

A short time later, the black military van entered a highly secure and fortified military research lab as the gates slid open slowly with a military police officer beckoning for the vehicle to enter. Then as soon as the black military van parked in front of the research lab, the doors swung open as the soldiers dragged Muriel, Eustace and Courage out the back and towards the building.

"Where are you taking us?" Muriel demanded as the trio were then blindfolded and gagged before one of the soldiers injected a tranquilizer into their necks. Within moments, they all fell unconscious as their bodies went completely limp and motionless and they dropped to the ground.

"I'll take them, gentlemen; thank you very much," an elderly Russian scientist announced as he walked over to the trio and placed them on separate stretchers before wheeling them into the building.

The next thing Courage knew, he had awoken on a medical bed as he struggled to break free and soon realized that he was held back by metal restraints on both his wrists, ankles and abdomen.

"Hello there, little doggie; ah, good… You're awake," a male Russian voice greeted him and Courage turned around to see the same elderly Russian scientist from earlier approach him with a wicked smile. He had long, silky and straight white hair tied in a ponytail, a long, haggard and gaunt face with a pointy and hooked nose and small, beady and narrowed grey eyes.

Courage then glanced over behind him and was horrified to see the floating and motionless bodies of Lugia, Moltres, Articuno, and Zapdos being held in large, round glass chambers with metal restraints wrapped around their necks and wings and breathing apparatuses attached to their faces as if they appeared to be asleep.

"My name is Dr. Nikolai Petrov and you are going to be my next test subject," the Russian scientist explained coolly. "We are hoping to create some powerful Pokemon clones using the resources and technology allotted to us by one of our esteemed colleagues Giovanni of Team Rocket. But first… allow me to introduce you to our first official test subject…"

He then walked over to another glass chamber which held a female cyan dragon-like Digimon as she was also floating listlessly in heavy, colorless liquid with a breathing apparatus attached to her face and metal restraints around her wrists, ankles and neck. She had a large resemblance to Monodramon except that she had no horns and she only had two long, thin and wavy antennae on her head along with four webbed ears and a small yellow fauxhawk.

She also had a long pale yellow stripe running down her back all the way from the back of her head and she also had a pale yellow underbelly. She also had pale yellow eyes, four arms and six webbed feet along with a slender, thin and diminutive build and a long, sleek and slender tail with webbed tips.

"Meet Aquadramon, the first of her kind!" Dr. Petrov announced. "She has the ability to harness the elements of electricity and water and can move very quickly in water. However, she tends to move pretty slowly on land with her webbed feet, which puts her at a sheer disadvantage, especially when faced with much stronger and more superior opponents. She compensates for this by switching to her terrestrial form, which makes it easier for her to adapt to an environment where a body of water is not easily or readily accessible."

Courage whined nervously as he stared at Dr. Petrov with pure fear and terror in his eyes while dreading what might potentially come next.

However, the glass chamber that Aquadramon was encased in started to shake and tremble violently as she opened her eyes and a surge of powerful yellow electricity began to course and vibrate throughout her body.

"Shock Blast!" Aquadramon yelled as she charged up a massive ball of electricity in her mouth before firing it, causing it to hurtle right out of the glass chamber as it collapsed and shattered into a million pieces. The resulting blast also triggered a massive and volatile shockwave that knocked away anyone that was in close proximity, including Dr. Petrov.

Courage then finally pulled free from his restraints as they fell away from him and he jumped out of his bed triumphantly.

"Yes!"

Aquadramon then landed on the ground as she retracted the webbed folds from between the digits on her paws and then summoned a pair of retractable elastic folds resembling bat-like wings from behind her main pair of arms. She also retracted her antennae and also retracted the webbed tips of her tail so that it would resemble more like a normal dragon's; she even changed the appearance of her ears so that they would look more shapely, round and elfin-like.

She then charged right at Courage and grabbed him before whisking away with him.

"Come on! We better get out of here!" she yelled.

"Get her!" one of the soldiers yelled as they pointed their guns at the pair and immediately began firing rapidly.

However, Aquadramon immediately disappeared in a blink of an eye as she camouflaged into her surroundings and quickly slipped away while evading and dodging the bullets.

Then as the soldiers descended upon her and continued to shoot at her, Aquadramon scaled up the wall and vaulted over the gate as she continued to run away from the research facility as fast as she could.

"There she is! Get her!" another one of the soldiers yelled as he aimed a massive spotlight in her direction and saw a translucent figure frantically carrying Courage away.

A machine gun turret then aimed right at the pair as it began rapidly firing at them even as Aquadramon continued to dodge and evade the bullets fearfully. Then suddenly a light blue portal appeared right in front of them and Aquadramon gathered up all of the strength in her body before making one last charge towards the portal.

"After them! They're getting away!" the General hollered.

Aquadramon then jumped and lunged right at the blue portal with her arms and legs outstretched just as a homing missile was flying right at her. Then just as it was about to hit them dead on, Aquadramon and Courage then disappeared right into the portal as the portal fizzled out and faded away before vanishing altogether.

"Damn it! We lost them!" The General growled angrily while slamming his fist onto the ground.

"What are we going to do now, General?" one of the soldiers asked anxiously.

"We need to do a citywide perimeter and search every nook and cranny for them. If that fails, then I'm also going to need to do several satellite scans all over the U.S. so that we can increase our chances of detecting their heat signatures. And if necessary we may have to expand our search to other neighboring countries," the General answered as he then turned around to face his men. "Now let's move!"

"Sir, yes sir!" the men saluted him as they all headed off while boarding their military vehicles before driving away from the lab.

The General then turned his gaze towards the horizon as he proceeded to stare at it intently with narrowed eyes.

"I'm going to find you dog, one way or another."

SAINT MARY'S CATHOLIC CHURCH

CENTRAL LONDON, ENGLAND

10:30 A.M.

Meanwhile, back in London, England, Rhonda and a group of kids were sitting around a circle in a small classroom as they were listening to a Bible passage from their teacher, who was named Sister Mary Margaret. About a month before, Harold and Beatrice had decided to enroll Rhonda in catechism classes in their local parish so that she would be able to receive Holy Communion. Even though Rhonda was apprehensive about the prospect of having to attend numerous Bible study classes for the next couple of months, she decided to bite her tongue and go along with whatever her parents wanted for her.

"Now who can recite for me the Apostle's Creed?" Sister Mary Margaret asked.

A young brown-haired girl with dark brown eyes with freckles and pigtails stood up immediately with a proud and haughtily expression as she prepared to recite the creed.

"It goes like this… I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of Heaven and Earth… And in Jesus Christ, His only Son and our Lord… Who was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born from the Virgin Mary… Who suffered under Pontius Pilate, and was crucified, dead and was buried… He then rose again on the third day and ascended into Heaven… and is seated at the right hand of the Father… He will come again to judge the living and the dead…"

As she said this, she quickly glanced over to shoot a dirty and evil look at Rhonda before turning back to face Sister Mary Margaret as she continued.

"I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life of the world to come. Amen."

"Excellent job, Harriet!" Sister Mary Margaret clapped her hands with a wide, beaming smile. "Now I want all of you to practice reciting the Apostle's Creed and then repeat it back to me one by one when you're ready."

"Yes, Sister," the kids chorused affirmatively.

Then when class was finally over, all of the kids rushed over to the front entrance of the church as they waited for their parents to pick them up. However, Rhonda couldn't help but overhear a conversation between Harriet and her younger brother Ozzy.

"That was absolutely stupendous, Harriet! Just marvelous!" Ozzy beamed.

Ozzy was a small, portly and fat child with small, round and chubby cheeks, messy, scruffy and tousled dark brown hair, and small, narrowed and slanted dark brown eyes. He was also wearing a white collared shirt with blue suspenders on top and a pair of blue and white sneakers.

"Don't mention it, dear brother," Harriet smirked while examining her nails casually. "I do wonder however if that retarded Petrie girl is even capable of reciting the Creed."

"Hey! I can recite it if I want to!" Rhonda snapped angrily as she stormed over to Harriet and Ozzy.

"Yeah, right! You can't even get the words right and every time you open your mouth, you're always sputtering and tripping over your own words and making yourself look like a complete fool."

"Yeah, and besides, you shouldn't even be here," Ozzy added with a sneer.

"Says who?" Rhonda growled, her fists tightening even more.

"Says me because your mother was a worthless slag who slept around with a bunch of guys before you were born," Harriet smirked with an evil grin. "I'll bet your daddy isn't even your real father."

"Take that back!" Rhonda snarled, her eyes flashing with anger.

"No!" Harriet shot back.

"I said take that back!" Rhonda snarled as she marched up to Harriet with the intent of giving her a piece of her mind, with Shirley and Luthor looking on in complete shock and horror.

"Rhonda, stop! Leave her alone! She's not worth it!" Shirley yelled as she rushed over to Rhonda and grabbed her arm in order to stop her.

"She called my mama a whore, Shirley!" Rhonda protested as she tried to pull away from her.

"Just let it go, Rhonda! You're only going to get in trouble if you keep this up!" Shirley urged her sternly.

Rhonda scowled indignantly as she pondered her words carefully for a moment and then sighed, hanging her head reluctantly.

"Fine."

Shirley smiled as she let go of her arm before pulling her close to her as the two started to walk away.

"It's okay; just leave them alone. They're nothing but a bunch of bullies."

It was then that a car pulled over and the passenger window rolled down as Beatrice popped her head out.

"Come on, Rhonda; we better get going!"

"Coming, Mum!" Rhonda hollered as she waved goodbye to Shirley and Luthor.

"Bye, guys; see you at school on Monday."

"Bye, Rhonda," Shirley smiled.

"Bye," Luthor chimed as he also waved goodbye.

Rhonda then grabbed the passenger side door and opened it before jumping into the car and slamming the door shut. She then clicked on her seatbelt just as the car pulled away from the church.

"So how was class?" Beatrice asked.

"Fine," Rhonda answered.

"Did you learn anything at the catechism class?" Harold inquired.

"Yeah, we're learning how to memorise the Apostle's Creed," Rhonda answered.

"Good; now I want you to practice reciting the Creed by heart when we get home," Harold ordered as he kept his eyes on the road. "In the meantime, we're going to your grandparents' house for dinner."

"Okay," Abigail chirped.

Sybille was situated between Rhonda and Abigail as she was dozing peacefully in her car seat.

But then just as they reached an intersection and stopped at a red light, Courage and Aquadramon suddenly appeared in front of the vehicle as they were attempting to cross the street. However, just as the red light turned green and Beatrice pushed her foot on the pedal to move, Rhonda suddenly noticed that Courage was standing just mere inches away from them.

"Mum, look out! It's a dog! You're going to hit it!" she yelled.

However, it was too late as Aquadramon quickly disappeared and scurried away just as the car slammed right into a screaming and terrified Courage, causing him to fall to the ground in a daze.

"Oh my God! Are you okay?" Rhonda cried in horror as she and the rest of her family scurried over to the fallen and shaking dog.

"Is he hurt, Mummy?" Abigail asked fearfully as Beatrice bent down to pick up Courage in her arms.

"He doesn't appear to be too badly hurt but we better take him to a nearby vet just to be safe," Beatrice replied. "Come on; let's go."

The Buchanans then rushed back into their vehicle as they soon drove off. The last thing Courage remembered before passing out from mere exhaustion was looking right into Rhonda's face as she was looking down at him worriedly.

A short time later, they pulled into the parking lot of a veterinary hospital as they rushed into the lobby.

"Hello! We found a dog wandering in the intersection and we accidentally hit it with our car! We need him to be examined as soon as possible," Harold explained frantically to the front desk clerk.

Moments later, a female veterinarian arrived as she walked over to Courage and grabbed him before looking at him for a moment.

"Well, he doesn't seem the worst for wear, but I will keep him here overnight for observation just in case. Thank you for bringing him here," she said.

"All right, children; let's go. We're going to be late as it is," Harold announced as the girls nodded and they all left the veterinary hospital.

Several hours later, it was evening as the Buchanans finally arrived home from visiting Harold's parents and they entered the living room.

"Rhonda, Abigail, go upstairs and take a bath so that you can both be ready for bed," Beatrice ordered as she carried a crying and whimpering Sybille upstairs. "Meanwhile I need to go change your sister's nappie."

"Okay, Mummy," Abigail nodded as she and Rhonda watched their mother disappear upstairs before they followed after her.

After Rhonda bathed and changed into her pajamas, she then sat down in front of her T.V. as she booted up her PS1 console and started to play "Xena The Warrior Princess".

"Hey, Rhonda, so how was your day?" Abigail asked as she walked over to Rhonda and sat down next to her.

"Fine," Rhonda shrugged as her eyes were glued to the screen.

"Were those kids bullying you again?" Abigail retorted curiously.

"Nothing that I couldn't handle," Rhonda answered as she kept on playing.

"I heard Shirley say that Harriet girl was saying really bad things about your birth mum," Abigail quipped.

Rhonda's jaw tightened as the memory of the incident flashed in her mind briefly before she quickly shook it out of her head and kept on playing.

"That's none of your business, Abby; besides, that conversation with Shirley wasn't even meant for you to hear," she growled irritably.

"Yeah, but I don't like it when people pick on you for dumb things that you can't control. Like your mummy being dead and all…" Abigail protested while looking down at the ground.

"Look, Abby, you need to learn that some people in this world are always going to be horrid and rotten and you just need to deal with it," Rhonda sighed irascibly. "That's just the way it is."

"All right," Abigail shrugged.

"Rhonda, Abigail, time for bed!" Beatrice's voice hollered from a distance.

"Okay, Mum!" Rhonda and Abigail chorused.

Rhonda then saved the game before turning off the console and the T.V. monitor and then walked over to her bed to turn in for the night. She and Abigail then climbed into their beds and Rhonda took off her glasses before placing it on the night table beside her.

"Night, Rhonda," Abigail smiled as she lay on her left side with a smile.

"Night, Abby," Rhonda smiled as she clicked off the lamp and then closed her eyes to sleep.

It wasn't long before the two girls were fast asleep.

About an hour and a half later, Rhonda and Abigail awoke to the sounds of loud noises and banging coming from outside their room as they soon heard the sharp cry of a baby.

"Sybi!" Rhonda yelled as she quickly turned on her lamp and threw on her glasses before rolling out of bed with Abigail following suit.

Then when Rhonda swung the door open and she and Abigail stepped out of their room, they were horrified to see a group of Syndicate agents standing in the middle of the hallway with one of them holding a screaming and wailing Sybille in his arms.

"Well, 'ello… were you lookin' for this?" a male Syndicate agent flashed a crooked smile at the girls while speaking in a Cockney accent as he held up Sybille for them to see.

"Let go of her, you bastard!" Abigail yelled angrily.

"What's going on?" Beatrice demanded as she and Harold stormed out of their room and was shocked to see a bunch of armed and terrifying-looking strangers standing in their hallway.

"Oh my God!"

"Girls, call 999 right now!" Harold bellowed.

"Oh, you lot are not going anywhere," the Cockney voiced Syndicate agent sneered as he pulled out a gun and aimed it right at Beatrice.

"Mum, no!" Rhonda screamed in horror.

The man then pulled the trigger as Beatrice was hit in the right shoulder and collapsed on top of her husband, gasping and writhing in pain while holding her bleeding shoulder.

"Girls, run right now!" Harold yelled as he held Beatrice protectively in his arms.

"Get 'em!" the Cockney voiced Syndicate agent yelled as two of the other Syndicate agents grabbed Rhonda and Abigail before whisking them away.

"Mummy! Daddy! Help!" Abigail wailed as she and her sister were being dragged down the stairs.

Then as the Buchanan girls were being escorted out of the apartment and into a waiting black military van, Mitchell was watching the whole thing unfold while concealing himself and Lucario in some nearby bushes on the opposite side of the street.

"We better go and warn the rest of the team. Rhonda's in trouble," Mitchell hissed.

Yeah, Lucario nodded in agreement as they both made their getaway.
