Luffy after Shanks was taken down to the Moby Dick's infirmary began to look at his surroundings.
He saw the giant ship and all the people that were now staring at him. He spotted Whitebeard and with wide eyes enthusiastically shouted, "Wow your huge and you also have a banana under your nose!!!"
The whole ship was silent until Thatch bent over laughing and started laughing loudly. "Hahaha. This brat is something else, hahaha. Pops, you have to adopt him."
Luffy looked over at Thatch with shark teeth screeched, "Bread hair, I'm not a brat I'm big!!!"
He then resorted to pouting.
The whole crew was in an uproar with laughter.
Thatch sputtered in unbelief. He didn't know how to respond so he decided to just pout.
Whitebeard looked the boy over with a calculating and amused look and asked, "What's your name brat?"
Luffy turned back around to face the giant of a man and stuck his pinky in his nose and stated, "My name is Monkey D. Luffy. Who are you banana mustache guy?"
The deck was silent then Whitebeard threw his head back and started laughing, "Gurarara your a cheeky little brat. My name is Edward Newgate but I'm know as Captain Whitebeard of the Whitebeard pirates."
Luffy took in what he said and tilted his head to the side in thought.
The nurse that came out of the infirmary to update her father figure and captain saw this and then thought to herself, "This little one is so cute."
Luffy then innocently inquired stating, "You have a White mustache not a white beard. Why aren't you the White mustache pirates?"
Whitebeard didn't know how to respond and looked around at his sons' for help. He then locked eyes with his fourth division commander.
Thatch nodded and asked, "Well what do you think sounds better? Whitebeard or Whitemustache?"
Luffy contemplated for a little bit and he gave his wide D Grin and exclaimed "Whitebeard is a lot cooler than Whitemustache!!!"
The crowd just chuckled at the little boys antics.
Izou came up to him and asked, "Hey, how old are you brat?"
Luffy looked at the crossdresser and took in his appearance and tilted his head and innocently inquired, "Are you a boy or are you a girl?"
The deck got so quiet that you could hear a pin drop on the other side of the ship.
Izou got defensive and stated, "I am a man who is a crossdresser. Do you have a problem with that?"
Luffy with a blank expression tilted his head even more and asked, "What's a crossover?"
Thatch had to keep in a laugh so he didn't get the ire of his fellow commander.
Izou sternly replied, "A cross dresser is a guy who dresses like a girl or a girl that dresses like a guy. Some people are narrow minded and judge that type of lifestyle."
Luffy was quiet for a minute and then boldly looked at the sixteenth division commander in the eye and stated, "Well they are stupid. If it's what you want to do there is no problem with it then."
Izou was shocked and the ship was silent for a moment before an uproar of agreement filled the ship.
Thatch looked over to his pops and saw the look and knew this brat has already been adopted and nobody was going to change it.
A moment later the head nurse came out with a grin on her face and looked at Whitebeard and stated, "Pops, I have some news."
Everyone turned to her and Whitebeard inquired, "Whiskey my daughter how is that red haired brat doing?"
Whiskey replied, "The good news is I only have good news and that news is I managed to save his arm and I expect him to make a full recovery."
Then all of a sudden they heard a shout approaching the ship, "Where's our captain, Newgate????!!!"
Whitebeard looked at his first division commander and said, "Go let them know what's going on and bring them aboard."
Marco hesitantly responded, "Yes, pops." He then took off towards the other ship that was headed in their direction.
A few moments later some people familiar to Luffy came into view.
He yelled with a happy smile, "Ben, Yasopp, Lucky, I missed you guys!!"
The three Red hair Pirates looked at where the familiar voice was coming from and shouted with tears of joy, "Anchor, you are safe!"
Ben of course didn't have tears and just smiled.
Luffy ran up to them and stretched his arms out to give them a hug.
Ben looked down and asked, "Luffy, where is Shanks?"
Luffy had a somber face with tears in his eyes and sobbed out, "Shanks got hurt cause of me. There was a lot of blood."
At that point Whiskey spoke up, "Your captain is fine. He is injured but I expect him to make a full recovery."
The three Red Hair Pirates had a look of relief on their faces and Ben asked, "Can we see him?"
Whiskey looked at Whitebeard and he nodded his head. Whiskey replied, "Follow me."
The three shared a glance at each other and nodded and started to follow the nurse to the main medical room.
The door opened and in walked Whiskey, Marco, Thatch, Whitebeard, Ben, Yassop and Lucky Roux. They made their way towards a certain bed where the future Red haired emperor was laying.
Ben seeing his bandaged arm asked, "You okay, Shanks? How are you feeling?"
Shanks with a more serious expression replied, "Well I've been better and I've been worse." He then looked at the Whitebeards and said, "Thanks."
Whitebeard nodded and Marco spoke up and inquired, "Shanks, I don't know how to ask this but did Roger have a wife or partner by chance?"
Everyone looked at him and raised raised an eyebrow.
Shanks thought about it for a moment and raised his head and said, "Yes he did. You guys probably even met her at least once. Her name was Portgas D. Rouge."
Whitebeard thought back and stated, "I think I remember. She had freckles on her face right."
Shanks nodded and Whitebeard asked, "Why, my son?"
Marco looked at Thatch who nodded with anticipation. " Well me and Thatch went into the jungle and hunted some animals and we noticed two little boys following us. I saw one that looked like a young Roger but he also had freckles like Rouge did -yoi."
Everyone's eyes went wide and Whitebeard tilted his head back and let out a rumbling laugh. "Gururara. So Roger had a brat, huh. This island is getting more and more interesting." Everyone in the room is nodding their heads in agreement.
Whitebeard then remembered the reason that they came here and looked over to his commanders and asked, "Is that brat that was saved, the one who let out Haki?"
The Red Hair Pirates nodded in uncertainty.
Whitebeard looked at Shanks and asked "So what's your plan for this kid now and what is his name?"
Shanks replied, "Well I was wanting to head out tomorrow for good but I have to stay and teach him how to control his Haki so he doesn't accidentally hurt someone. To answer your other question he is Vice Admiral Garp's grandson Monkey D. Luffy."
The Whitebeard pirates eyes widened from this new information.
Whitebeard just laughed again and amusingly stated, " I can't wait to see what this brat does in the future."
Shanks gave a big grin after hearing this.
Marco spoke up. "He just ate a devil fruit right."
Before he could reply the door was slammed open and in ran a very frantic Haruta. "Pops, your not going to believe this!"
Whitebeard looked over. "What is it son?"
"The boy just talked to the sea King and told it off."
Flashback*
All the commanders were watching over the boy with interest seeing what he would do next when he heard a voice coming from the ocean. He turned his head and walked over towards the railing and the Lord of the coast poked his head out of the water and stared up at the little boy.
Luffy, who was still mad at him for what he did to Shanks yelled, "What do you want?! Go away!"
Luffy then heard him respond, "I'm here to finish my food and eat you."
Luffy stuck his finger in his nose and responded, "Your stupid I'm not food go away."
The sea King and the pirates that were paying attention widened their eyes.
The sea King responded. "You are the chosen one. I must go and prepare."
Izou shouted at Haruta "Run to the medical bay and let Pops know what just happened."
End of flashback.*
Everyone's eyes bugged out and Whitebeard and Shanks simultaneously blurted out ,"He has the voice of all things."
