Following the confrontation in the Common Room where Professor McGonagall revealed that the potion had been long gone from her system, Hermione felt a little bit foolish. The first thing she should have done was check how long the potion would last but she didn't, so certain that it would boost her confidence within herself. It had done that to the point where she had acted out even after the potion had left her system. She was mortified, she'd have never done half the things she'd done had she known she was doing these things without the influence of the potion.

Fred found it amusing how mortified she was but had constantly reminded her that he'd liked her long before she'd had the fake confidence and still liked her now. Since learning the truth Hermione had settled somewhere between the two versions of herself. She wore nicer clothing that wasn't too revealing, and her hair was tamer than it had been at the start of the year. In class she'd reverted back to her usual self but elsewhere she had been planning Um-bitches downfall.

It had taken time to plan the perfect event. One didn't want to simply set off dung bombs until the old toad croaked from the stench of them. No it took time, months of meticulous planning sessions with the twins. Hermione took this very seriously though Fred constantly tried to distract her by playing with her curls and by pulling her into sweet kisses. She was really enjoying having Fred as her boyfriend, it was a shame that he had to leave for their plan to work, she'd miss him terribly.

"Hermione I will message you in our journal the moment we make it to our new store," Fred told her quietly.

"I'll miss you Freddie," she told him sadly.

"Not as much as I'll miss you, love," he said, leaning down to kiss her lips in a heated kiss, his hands burrowing into the curls at the nape of her neck.

"Good luck," she whispered when he pulled away, Fred beamed at her and kissed her forehead.

"Don't need luck when your brain helped to plan everything, I'll see you in the holiday's okay love," he told her fondly, Hermione nodded and watched as Fred made his way out of the alcove they'd been hidden in.

What followed next was pure magical mayhem. They'd decided that the best time to cause a disaster would be during an exam, the twins had been astounded that she'd let them interrupt such an important academic process. She'd laughed and informed the pair of them that it wouldn't be one that was important. Of course for maximum effect on the toad it had to happen during the examination for Defence against the Dark Arts.

It was magnificent, screams erupted all across the castle. They'd planned for every single product that both the twins and she had invented to go off at exactly half nine on a Tuesday morning, which happened to be halfway through the written examination for DADA.

Booms exploded as fireworks went off creating magical dancing illuminations in all areas of the castle. Dung bombs exploded creating plumes of rancid smoke that left the inhabitants of Hogwarts gagging for fresh air, portable swamps erupted turning corridors into marshes. They'd had Peeves help in distributing timed release candies that had students turning into creatures large and small. Music blared through the corridors, glitter and feathers rained from the ceilings, enchanted mistletoe sprouted in every doorway which led to many memorable and forbidden kisses to Um-bitches chagrin.

Hermione had laughed uproariously when Harry and Malfoy had been forced to kiss in order to free themselves from a doorway that they'd become stuck in, it was wonderful to witness. She wondered if she was the only one who had noticed the sexual tension between the Slytherin and Gryffindor. Perhaps she should take bets on if they'd get together or else make up a society where people could wear Drarry badges if they shipped them, no she couldn't do that, Ginny would be devastated but honestly the two did have a chemistry of sorts.

It was absolute mayhem, madness, especially when the other students joined in creating more ruckus as they unleashed their own pranks and spells. Hermione even saw a few professors joining in the mayhem, Flitwick charmed the armour to block hallways, the metal suits challenging anyone who stood within five feet of them to duels, McGonagall transfigured the grand staircase into a helter-skelter and Snape made an entire corridor transform into a slip and slide when he faked dropping a potion, the contents of which turned the entire corridor to slick ice that only got more lethal when people tried to melt or remove it.

Hermione watched proudly as Fred and George summoned their brooms when Umbridge threatened to torture them in the dungeons. The twins blasted the wall of decrees to smithereens and shot off into the distance, calling out the address of their new store to all of Hogwarts. Then came the best part, Umbridge transforming into an overgrown green toad clad in a pink bow. Hermione hastily gathered the toad into a non-breakable jar and squirreled it away to her room, placing it carefully in her trunk next to another jar that held a beetle.

"Rita, I've brought you a friend, meet Delores," she whispered to the beetle before closing the trunks lid, leaving the pair of them in darkness to contemplate their actions.
