23. Chapter 23

Boshoku (Twilight) Begins:

The next day in the Hidden Valley Village:

Nagato woke up in a bed looking at a beige ceiling. He struggled to sit up as he looked out of a window in a 5 story building. There was a feeling of relief in the pit of his stomach as he saw people walking around the downtown district of the village in droves peacefully. He looked to see the sun shining down on the city and its people. Some of them were children playing ninja while others were business owners and food stalls along with civilians passing, talking and or buying from the merchants.

"You're awake"

He was brought out of his rowsings when he heard a door open and he turned to look and see Konan walking in to sit on the foot of the bed looking at him in a thoughtful position. She wore a black tank top shirt, black shinobi pants and black shinobi sandals.

"How are you feeling?" she asked

He sighed as he looked at her then back out at the village

"Better…now that we no longer align ourselves with those people. I…should've never done it to begin with" he said as he looked down at his hands

There was a tense moment between the two until she spoke up.

"We were lost ... .Yahiko died along with the original members of the akatsuki. What we stood for had changed, and I think now is the time to reevaluate our purpose."

He was silent for a few moments as he pondered her words and everything up until now. Yahiko started the akatsuki for a noble cause for peace and yet they had done everything but be peaceful.

"Perhaps…our salvation is in our teacher's words and what he passed on to us" he replied quietly as memories of Jiraiya training them in the hidden rain village passed through his mind.

His words reverberated through the room and Konan's eyes widened at his words. Nagato looked down at his hands and realized that he wasn't inside of the contraption that held his beaten body. He looked under the cover and saw that his legs and feet were healed. He stood as he was wearing a pair of sweatpants thanks to whoever dressed him and his bare chest showed. He walked to a large mirror hanging on the side opposite of the window to look at himself.

"So I've been given another chance have I?" he said

"Yes, your body must've regained it's youth from absorbing so many attacks from those shinobi and that demon under Madara's command" she said

He held up his hand in front of his face examining it from front to back.

"Perhaps this is fate giving us another chance" he said

"Indeed, there are even those from the akatsuki who have defected." Konan said causing him to turn around and look at her in question

"Along the way here I came across Mukai Kohinata. He was an accomplice to Raditz in the plan but as we spoke on what happened in the hidden Rain, Kisame heard us. He and Mukai have joined with the rest of our group. I told them that Madara and Giblets path to peace will be riddled with more manipulations and lies and that you could tell them what really happened."

He nodded in understanding.

"Perhaps with them bolstering our ranks we could warn all the hidden villages and stop the akatsuki from gathering the rest of the tailed beasts. After All they already have the 3 tails" he replied as he looked to the closed door to the room and saw a dark black shirt with white edges on the collar and a black cloak with blue clouds on it. He donned the cloak and took a brief look in the mirror before walking to another room, Konan followed by donning her own cloak that she got out of the room closet. Nagato made his way to see Kisame, Mukai, Oboro, Raditz and several others in a bigger suite that they rented.

P.S. Sasuke did kill Oboro's team but Nagato revived them because he believed they could still be useful.

He went to take a seat at a round table in the room. It was a modest room and they were a bit cluttered but they each had enough space in the room.

He looked to see the others as he studied them. Ajisai had purple hair in an onion-like bun style. She had light green eyes with black pupils. She wore a light purple neck-collared kimono jacket with a brown orange sash around her waist and lavender pants, and her forehead protector was covered by her bangs.

He looked to the side of her as saw Suiren. She has long, dark green hair emerging from beneath her forehead protector, which is worn in a bandanna style. She has a slim face, which she mostly covers with a black mask. Her attire is completed by a light purple poncho worn over a violet kimono with a brown orange sash, and bandages around her arms and hands. She has light-purple coloured eyes.

He looked next to see another woman. Fuyo has long black hair that covers the entire left side of her face. She has purple eyes that are half open, giving her a lazy expression. Fuyo wears a violet long-sleeved dress with purple pants and shinobi sandals. In addition to her outfit, she has a light violet sash draped over her right shoulder and a yellow choker. Her forehead protector is covered by her bangs around her forehead.

She looked to see another kunoichi. Ai had long dirty blonde hair in a ponytail with a bang over her right eye. She wore a white gi, with a black haori black hakama pants with a shuriken holster on the right side. It was a samue like out-fit with a tan obi wrapped around the gi. She wore a navy blue scarf around her neck to cover up part of her face.

After taking account of everyone at the table he cleared his throat.

"I'm glad you all have come. The akatsuki has become a wicked farce of what it used to be. It was our intention to create peace with this organization. Due to a conflict in what we believed peace to be, we have separated from them. I allowed myself to believe that hunting down the jinchuriki and taking their tailed beasts would lead to peace. Their sacrifice was meant to be noble. In fact I was hell bent on it. But, I've found out what their true objective is and now I seek to do the opposite. We must not allow the akatsuki to capture the tailed beasts, they wish to use them for fiendish and troglodyte purposes."

"What exactly would that be?" Kisame asked

"Madara wishes to create a world of lies by absorbing the tailed beasts and putting the world under an infinite Tsukuyomi of some sort. A permanent genjutsu and a lie. A false peace if you will" he replied causing Kisame to narrow his eyes as he grimaced

"Giblet told me something similar. Only he said he would use the tailed beasts to gain power. A power so strong it would eclipse the fable power of Saiyan legends" Raditz chimed in.

"So it seems we have power hungry beings who seek to wield forces they don't understand for their own trivial means. They seek world domination instead of peace and for complex reasons that differ between one another. I ask: Will you all join me in defeating this perversion of the path to peace?" he said

Raditz nodded in silence as well as Mukai and Oboru. They all held stern gazes on their faces. There were several other occupant with reasons to go against the akatsuki.

"Fuck it I've dealt with enough lies in my life, especially from Madara. Besides, you guys seem more fun than the others. While I love a good fight, I've only used this strength to betray. And I also don't want to live an infinite lie either. I'd like to see what the other side of things looks like. Plus I'll be justified in my kills" Kisame said with a savage grin on his face

Nagato nodded with a stoic visage. He realized he had to pay more attention to those he chose to who he aligned with this time.

"That's fine. Does anyone have any discrepancies with what we're doing here? We will be fighting against S-class shinobi. This will be a war!" He said with a stern voice

Suiren gave a savage smile as she spoke up

"When do we start?"

Konan stood up and pulled out a scroll. She opened it and channeled chakra into it and a large map appeared with x-marks and various labels of numbers and names near each country and hidden village. It also had multiple bases for the akatsuki and multiple for them.

"Question? What are we? We can't still be akatsuki right?" Fuyo asked

"Yes, I'd imagine we would need a name change right?" Ajisai asked along with a questioning tone

Nagato looked around at them and said

"We are the Twilight before the daybreak. We are…Boshoku. Hince the blue clouds instead of the red" he said as he looked around at their reactions

There was no pushback at the announcement and he looked at Konan to continue.

"The red marks on the map represent what we know of the akatsuki bases and the marks near the hidden villages represent the tailed beasts. Also the blue marks represent our base of operations as well. We will be operating with and near the hidden villages but not close enough to alert them or make them feel threatened" she pointed and explained further

"We will be moving to warn the villages of the akatsuki. The hidden leaf and the hidden mist have had the most experience with them. We will need to go to each village with information on all of us to let them know that we aren't hostile. We will also give them an abundance of information on the Hidden Sound and the Akatsuki." she concluded

"When will we be moving out?" Raditz asked

"We'll be moving out in the next few days. For now gather your strength and get supplies from around the village. You will also be receiving your assigned villages and base locations in the next day" she said

Kenji woke up in the hospital bed and tried to sit up but he felt pain on his right side.

"Hey, hey, hey. Stay down for a bit kiddo. You gave us a nasty scare" Tsunade said, causing him to look around and see his little brother, Wife, son, his little sister Mito, Adoptive father Jiraiya and his grandparents.

He turned his head and looked down to see his arm wrapped up in bandages.

"Is it gonna scar?" he asked in a flat tone

Tsunade shook her head

"Not with the new medicine from Korin's tower pumping into you right now." she said

"You should be worried about recovering instead of whether it'll leave a scar!" Mei said in irritation while Yuji crawled off her lap to go up near his father.

"Papa, you ok?" he asked in a childish yet adorable tone with a stuffed teddy bear in his arms

"Of course, Papa just did something really dangerous" he said

Kumiko came up next to him and ruffled his hair.

"You're not just worrying about you anymore child. What would you do if little Yuji couldn't see you again?" she asked

"Y-yeah, I just had to think fast. Speaking of that what did they find out from his memories"

Jiraiya looked around then he looked at Yuji and Mito then at Kumiko and Mei who took the hint.

"Hey you two, why don't we go and get something to eat" Mei asked thinking fast

"Can we get candy?" Yuji asked innocently

"Only if you eat your vegetables first" his great grandfather replied

"Ok…" he said as he took Mito's hand and they walked out with Mei and Kumiko

After they exited, the tone of the room changed. Jiraiya closed the door and looked with a serious visage

"Kabuto has two accomplices. They're being hunted as we speak. They were giving out some of our tactics to the hidden sound village as we tracked their movements. So they were watching us while we were watching them and it seems like they were all operating under Jinsuke Shimura when he was in the village." Jiraiya said

"So what now? How will we get them back?" Naruto asked

"We're already in a cold war with the sound. Now the Hokage is planning on sending a small battalion to deal with Jinsuke's base of operations and another group to survey the land of rice to make sure they aren't getting ballsy and plotting another war with us. You've gotta remember, they've got the akatsuki on their side so they can afford to go to war with us." Jiraiya said in a grave tone

"When does he plan to do so?" Tsunade asked

"He's going to send a team of 12 ninja to do a sting operation on the base after he comes back from the 5 Kage summit"

"So it got approved after all then? Good" Noridasu said

"For now, we'll be watching surveillance through the land of fire and the land of rice Fields. If they try anything it'll be hell for them to pay."

"Did they find anything else?" Tsunade asked

Jiraiya looked at them all and he took a deep breath. He especially looked at Tsunade in sadness then he said

"They found several dead test subjects that had S cells and Lord Firsts cells pumped into them"

This caused everyone in the room to get on edge and Tsunade snarled.

"I'm not surprised… It's Orochimaru. He's always been the one to do what he wants even when it's inhumane" she said

Naruto and Kenji were looking at their reactions while Noridasu was stoic.

"This means he's possibly creating cybernetic weapons. Artificial weapons of intelligence that may be beyond his own control once they realize the depth of their own potential." he said

Soon a heavy tension broke out over them.

"We also can't forget that he can use the reanimation technique." Noridasu quipped

"Lord Hokage spoke of that possibility as well. But…knowing Orochimaru he's probably making more progress than we would like" he said

"If they get out of his control….then-"

"We beat them down!" Naruto said cutting Tsunade off

They all looked at him in surprise from his outburst.

"I agree with Naruto on this. We'll put them in the dirt before they can do anything drastic and I plan to stay sharp. The will of fire can't just get snuffed out by some fake imitations even if they have our ancestors' Saiyan cells." Kenji said in agreement

"That's the Saiyan spirit in both of you. Glad to finally see it again after so long" they heard a voice from near the window

They all looked to see Vegeta sitting with his arms folded as a breeze blew through to kiss all of their skin.

"Humph, this is perfect. I need to go and scour the land of fire for a tip I received from the Hokage soon." Jiraiya retorted

"Are you gonna kill them with your extreme gravity weighted training? Will they be able to battle or will they be worn out?" Tsunade asked

Vegeta rolled his eyes

"I've told Naruto and Mina this already and now I'll be telling Kenji and soon Trunks. We will be battling every week to keep them sharp. It also makes use of a unique Saiyan ability."

"And what would that be?" Tsunade asked

"Everytime a Saiyan gets near death, we become stronger every time after each battle. Exponentially so. I'm sure you realized it already, right?" Vegeta replied

"Heh, so that's why I one shot the 3 tails" Kenji said

Naruto looked at him in surprise with a quirked eyebrow.

"What the hell? How are you that strong?" he asked

"It happened a month after you left and we liberated the hidden mist. I took an ass kicking from 2 pseudo jinchuriki with 3 tails chakra and when I was off bed rest I defeated the 3 tails itself with a full power Hadouken to clash against a tailed beast ball." he replied

"Damn…you're…probably even better now aren't you?" Naruto said in shock

"Of course he is. I'd wager he and Trunks are finally getting on equal ground. Perhaps he's a bit faster" Noridasu said with a thoughtful tone in his voice

"Regardless, things will be getting vicious in the coming months. Be ready." Vegeta said as he jumped out of the window and flew across the village.

Sozu lay in his bed as he had his hand behind his head looking at the ceiling. He was thinking about what Akino said to him and he had to agree. He was being a big shithead to his old teammates and friends. Having gotten the power he needed and now he was still being a prick with a chip on his shoulder.

'Fuck I hate that she's right.' he thought as he grunted in irritation

Soon he heard his door open and he saw his old sensei. The man held a neutral look on his face as he closed the door and walked in. He stood far from the boy and leaned against the hospital wall with his arms folded and he looked at him like he was studying him. Sozu sat up and looked back at him with a stoic look of his own.

"Let me guess. You've come to lecture me like Naruto and Akino did?"

Genma raised an eyebrow

"No. I just. I decided to come and ask… why?"

"Why what sensei?" he asked

"Why didn't you come back sooner if you survived? Was. Was I that bad of a teacher to you all?" he asked

Sozu was a bit miffed at his sensei's words. He didn't expect this from him as he ran his hand through his hair. He shrugged

"It had nothing to do with you. You taught me the basics. You even helped me get all of my elements under control. I.I had to do what I had to do. It was never personal sensei." he said

Genma sighed and there was a moment of silence between the two as they averted their eyes from one anothers.

"I… blamed myself"

"For what?"

"Your Death! I…blamed…myself. It…felt like, this was my fault. I wished I could've been there. If I was you could've came back to the village in one piece" he said in hesitation.

Sozu looked at his missing right arm and shrugged

"I'm still pretty strong without it" he said

Genma punched the wall cracking it in irritation.

"I thought you died kid! Look, my parents died, sensei and several of my friends died in the 3rd ninja war, so I know what it's like to lose people! But I worked my ass off under a manipulative son of a bitch of a Sannin, and studied the best I could under the 4th Hokage to be better for my team! So don't write me or anyone else who gives a crap about you off like it's no big deal!" he said in anger

Sozu sighed as he felt tension bubbling up in the back of his mind. It seemed like no one was really hearing what he had to say nor did they care about what he thought. He looked over at Genma in anger and frustration.

"You're right, I, I was hasty. I was angry! I felt betrayed! Abandoned! I WAS LEFT TO LIVE WHILE MY FATHER BECAME A CRIMINAL! AND THE VERY SONS OF BITCHES WE DESCENDED FROM TURNED THEIR BACKS ON US! SO FORGIVE ME IF ALL THAT WILL OF FIRE AND COMRADES TALK SOUND LIKE BULLSHIT TO ME!" he went from raising his voice to yelling

There was another 5 minutes of silence as Genma inhaled deeply and breathed out slowly a few times.

"I understand, part of it. But, does that mean the people you still have mean nothing?" Genma asked

Sozu froze for a brief moment and looked away as he could no longer hold his sensei's gaze. Just like with Akino his sensei asked him something that he never thought of. Perhaps this is what Supreme Kai Shin wanted him to think about. He fucking hated himself about the way he felt. The conflict within was killing him inside as he balled up his fists.

"Why?" Sozu asked

Now it was Genma's turn to wonder what was going on with his student.

"What do you mean?"

"Why the fuck do you all even give a shit about me? I'm. I'm worse than trash! I basically abandoned everyone anyways." he hissed out as he gripped his covers even tighter until his knuckles turned white

"But is that what you really wanted?" Genma asked in all honesty

"Of course not. I just wanted the power to bring in my father and prove those who looked down on us wrong" he said honestly as he looked back up at his sensei in shame and frustration

"Then you know what you have to do, don't you? Stop being a brat and do what you need to do. Get your affairs in order and stop being a prick to those who care for you" he said as he turned to walk out.

Sozu sighed as he let his teacher's words marinate in his mind while looking outside of the window at the village.

The next day:

Nagato stood on top of the Hotel they were staying in with Konan and Oboro looking down at the Hidden Valley Village.

"So we're not going back to the Hidden Rain are we?" he asked

"No, we can't. Madara knows that village as well as we do" Nagato replied

"Where did you guys send the villagers?" Oboro asked

"We brought them here after making arrangements with the leader of the village" Konan replied

"So, what did we agree to?" Oboro asked

"We agreed to start a shinobi force here and protect this village and the Daimyo of the land of Rivers." Nagato continued

"So what exactly are we gonna do? Especially if we're going to start a shinobi force for the land of Rivers. We aren't gonna be here like that after today too much are we?"

"Actually, we'll be in rotations around the elemental nations patrolling for the akatsuki" Nagato said curtly

"Also, heres your assignment" Nagato said pulling out a scroll and handing it to Oboro

The man unfolded it and as he looked over it and he nodded

"Guess I'll go get him soon and head out. I'm the only one out of the both of us that'll use ninja tools. My Leader, Mistress Angel." He said as he bowed and walked away back into the building

There was a moment of silence between Nagato and Konan as they looked at the village hidden in the rocky yet green mountains. The city was built with dripping designs of luxury in the form of elaborate castles like buildings, tea and bath houses. It was far from what they were used to, especially with the elite like classes and rich building structures. There was also a more poor part of the village and they would need money due to the influx of people from their homeland. They felt a bit of irritation at the fact that they had left their home to rot, but they brought the people of the Hidden Rain Village and that gave them a purpose to build this Village up and get started with their plans for peace.

"Perhaps. This was needed. It was also our fault unfortunately" Konan said with a melancholic voice

"Perhaps. Come let's give the others their assignments" he said as he walked back in the building with Konan following him

Later on:

They were all in the large room once again as they got their assignments from Nagato and Konan. They all looked around and then back at the two sitting at the head of the tables. Raditz and Oboro would go to the hidden stone, Nagato and Konan would go to the Hidden Leaf, Mukai and Kisame would go to the Hidden Mist, Ajisai and Suiren would go to the Hidden Sand and Fuyo and Ai would go to the Hidden Cloud.

"Are all of your assignments clear? We will come to warn the great 5 nations and then 3 teams of two will remain in the field to patrol for the akatsuki"

"I'd like to stay out after our first initial assignment" Raditz said, causing Oboro to sigh in resignation.

"I would like to patrol for them as well." Mukai said. He looked at Kisame who grinned in a savage manner

"We'll take the 3rd position for akatsuki patrol" Fuyo said as Ai rolled her eyes

"Alright then. Rest up for tonight, because tomorrow we all head out" Nagato said

"First, before we go, I'll set up some barrier seals around the land and have them keyed to several trustworthy shinobi" Konan said

The next day:

Soon they were off, all going on in different directions. Nagato and Konan headed to the Hidden Leaf Village making their way down a trail. They had never been to the land of fire, but they figured now was a good time to visit. Jiraiya was from the Hidden Leaf Village, so possibly they might be able to reunite with their sensei on more positive grounds.

The lands around the Hidden Valley Village was a rich land with green grass and tall trees with plains of weeds and flowers along with several wildlife creatures. They realized that this was a stark contrast to where they grew up. There was no talking but, they were looking around a lot, at the sights of the areas. Nagato in particular was at peace as he made his way up the trail with a quiet Konan. His thoughts were interrupted when Konan spoke.

"Do you still wish to visit the land of Whirlpools?"

Nagato's eyes widened as he had forgotten that he wanted to visit there.

"Yes. Let's visit there after we visit the Hidden Leaf Village." he said as they continued forward

Shikaku Nara was looking at the reports of what he had received from spies near the Land of Rice Fields. He was also comparing the info to what he got from Inoichi when they did a mind walk of Kabuto. It seemed like everything was true, Jinsuké Shimura was plotting with Orochimaru to attack the Hidden Leaf Village after slowly destroying and interfering with their supply routes and killing off some of their trading partners. He would need to send some serious firepower to defend these places. Jinsuke knew too much and with the two spies in captivity now thanks to the Anbu. He would need to move fast as this would be the first of several operations according to what Ibiki found. Luckily they disable the self-destruct seals with the help of Jiraiya so Inoichi could mind walk them. He was being spread thin with the threat of an alien invasion, a terrorist Organization and an entire foreign nation. But, he realized that he could just bring down the hammer on Orochimaru by sending out his best assault team with a group of special ops.

"Anbu, bring me Teams 7, 10 and the special Ops! This is gonna be a long term mission!" he said

The hawk masked Anbu nods and body flickers away.

Shikaku went through documents on his desk by priority. He had sent out a letter to all Hidden Villages after his shinobi returned from Korin's Tower and The White Lotus Clan. He wanted to see the extent of his son's prowess and if all his training was worth it. This would be a lengthy sting operation, but it shouldn't be too hard with the special ops backing two of the most well versed teams in the village. He smiled as he knew this would be a hell of a challenge but a load off his back.

30 minutes passed and Teams 7 & 10 appeared with 4 members of the special ops. Naruto looked around at the various faces. 4 of them wore black masks with eye slits and red leaf symbols on their masks foreheads.

"You've all been gathered here today for an important mission!" Shikaku spoke up with absolute authority causing them all to stand at attention

"What are your orders sir?" a black masked Anbu asked

"This mission will be a long term S-rank assignment near the border of the land of Rice Fields. We have recently received multiple tips from several sources patrolling around the lands and even more evidence catching several spies in our ranks from the land of Sound. They're planning to bleed our trade and supply routes dry between the Land of Spring and the land of Wind. Your mission is to stop them from hurting any of our trade routes. There's already a team surveying the Land of Rice Fields for hostile activity. Team 7 and Team 10 will make their way to the Land of Rice Fields to rendezvous with them and the special ops will be meeting with a contact of Lord Jiraiya to check out a supposed base around the Land of Waves. Asuma and Kakashi will be in charge of Teams 7 and 10. The special ops will regroup with those in the land of Rice Fields after finishing the investigation near the land of Waves. Overall, your main goal will be to deal a crippling blow to the Hidden Sound Faction and assassinate Jinsuke Shimura" he finally finished

There was a moment of silence in the room as a tension fell on them all.

"So when should we head out?" Kakashi asked

"You all have a full day to get whatever you need for the mission. Then head out tomorrow morning, they'll be expecting you for in the next 2 to 3 days" Shikaku said

"Yes sir!" they all chorused and they began to exit the office

Naruto was racing through the building jumping from rooftop to rooftop. He was excited as he had gotten his first mission and it was s-rank. His Saiyan side seemed to be showing, as anticipation of who he may be fighting began to build up. Moving in a blur, he flew through the village buildings as he finally landed in front of the clan districts and he teleported to the Namikaze compound to a marker on the pendent in front of the compound entrance. He preferred not to be a carbon copy of his brother and father. They fought using the Hiraishin variants and the Rasengan. He had learned how to use his own version with seals attached to his own pendants and sealing markers in tandem with his toad summonings. It's not like he didn't have his own way of fighting without the technique anyways. He only used it as a last resort or a surprise attack to catch his enemies off guard.

As he made his way through the Namikaze compound he saw Yuji and Mito playing in the garden with Mei and Kumiko watching. He would speak to them later on when he got everything he needed. As he walked through the compound he saw a boy near his age with red hair passing by and he stopped to speak.

"Excuse me. Who are you?"

The boy was someone he recognized from the first day he came back and the Hokage had them battle to see just how strong they were. The boy gave him a once over then spoke

"My name is Tenrou Uzumaki. I was sent to live here as a representative of the Uzumaki in good faith and as one of the ambassadors between the Hidden Whirlpool and the Hidden Leaf. I take it you're Naruto?"

"Um yea, sorry about that… I figured you were but…"

"You wanted to introduce yourself" Tenrou finished for him

"Yea. Nice to meet ya" he said reaching out his hand

Tenrou shook his hand and they nodded as they broke the gesture

"Well, see ya, I've got to meet with my team now" he said walking away waving

"Right see ya around." Naruto replied as he made his way to his home

He had to move out of Kenji's cottage once he found out he had a family and he was given a room in the main house. He greeted Noridasu and made it to his room to get his supplies together. Lucky for him, he had bought several new sets of shuriken, kunai and many other tools and a set of sealing tags and sealing brushes. He realized that he was being sent on this mission to deal with the Hidden Sound. They were part of the reason so many people died and why Sozu was infected with the cursed seal. He would kill the snake and end all of his machinations on this mission, not just Jinsuke Shimura.

In the Mountain's Graveyard hideout, Madara smashed his fist into the wall.

"FUCK! FUCK FUCK FUCK! THAT SON OF A BITCH GOT AWAY WITH THE RINNEGAN! AND NOW HE'S BACK AT FULL POWER! NOT ONLY THAT, THE BITCH CUT HIS CONNECTION TO THE GEDO MAZO! NOW IT'S JUST A FUCKING STATUE!" He yelled while punching another hole in the wall and cursing throughout his bedroom as Zetsu sat sipping a cup of tea.

Sosetsu was leaning against another wall looking out of the window next to him. He pondered what this could mean for the vision they had for the world, then something came to him as his eyes widened.

"Perhaps the snake can do you some good in this instance" he said, causing Madara to stop his tantrum and then he looked at him and he began shaking. The shaking turned into a chuckle, then the chuckle turned into a relieved laughter.

"HAHAHAHAHAHA! SON OF A BITCH! This is perfect! I'll be damned haaa. haaa. I'm gonna go see him now. Thanks for that. I was seriously having a panic attack haaa." he sighed in relief causing everyone to sweatdrop

"What do you think the snake can do for us?" Zetsu asked

"Easy, he probably knows how to recreate the Rinnegan," Zetsu said, causing Sosetsu to look over at him in astonishment.

"Should he know how this would be beneficial to us both" he said

"Ok, hold on a minute. We're not gonna have a Rinnegan bargain bin sale dammit. Only you and I will get them" Madara said in a childish voice causing Zetsu and Sosetsu to comically sweatdrop

"Relax. Both of you will only be able to have one of each or you'll lose your sharingan powers, along with being destroyed by the power of the 6 paths." Zetsu said

"What do you mean destroyed?" Sosetsu asked

"Your bodies must contain Uchiha and Senju DNA." Zetsu said

"Well shit. I do like my Susano'o" Sosetsu said as he cracked his neck

"Exactly, so I'm gonna go and see the Snake before we get our hopes up." he said turning to walk out of the room

"One more thing." Zetsu said as he caused Madara to stop

"It seems like Mukai Kohinata and Kisame Hoshigaki have betrayed us and Nagato has fallen off the grid." he continued

Madara's head tilted to the right

"That is most troublesome. But, we have plenty in our ranks to replace them. Zetsu, come we are leaving." he said as his fists balled up and tightened and he exited the room

They were at the gate. Team 7 and 10 stood talking amongst one another while the 4 Special Ops stood in silence on the gate as if they were waiting to pounce. It was: Shikamaru, Ino, Choji, Hinata, Sasuke and Naruto talking amongst each other at the North Village Gate. Soon Asuma and Kakashi appeared in front of them and the spec ops dropped to their level landing beside the team.

"Alright, we have our orders. The Special Ops will go meet with Lord Jiraiya's contact near the Land of Waves and we're headed to the Land of Rice Fields to stake out and eventually smoke out the rats that are trying to interfere in our Village trading. Do not act without thinking and watch each other's backs. You got anything to add, Kakashi?" Asuma asked

"I think that covers it. Let's get going" he said and they were off

They began with an initial run down the beaten path between the forestage, and soon they began to move through pure foliage leaping into the trees, pushing off the large branches as making headsway through the forest in the land of fire.

Somewhere between the Hidden Leaf Village and the Fire Capital, Jiraiya was walking down the road towards a contact he had in the HIdden Valley Village. Apparently a new organization had sprung up along with over 2000 refugees, half of them being shinobi. He was going to take a look at what was going on. He had been to the Land of Rivers to look into the Akatsuki but this new organization could lead to more problems. He had also pondered on what he heard from the Hokage.

"Reincarnation of the Sage huh" he said out loud as he was brought back to the children he had mentored in the Hidden Rain VIllage.

It had been so long since he saw them. He wondered if what he heard about them dying to Hanzo the Salamander was true. He also heard the Hidden Rain Village had been deserted as well. The residents had fled either into the land of Stone, Fire or-

"The Hidden Valley Village." he said, finishing his thoughts out loud.

He picked up the pace and he began to run towards the Borders of Fire and River Country. He ran until he ran out of road leaping into the trees moving at a high speed. It was too good to be true as he kept it moving as he squashed his thoughts and kept focus on his suspicions of where the residents of the Hidden Rain could be. He was brought out of his muses as he saw two figures in Ronin hats with blue strips hanging with bells attached to them. They wore black cloaks with blue clouds along them. They were like the cloaks of the akatsuki but black and blue instead of red clouds. He landed on a road with a bridge across from them and he narrowed his eyes as he saw them stop and look back at him.

"You two don't look like you're from around here" he said as he stood ready for anything.

The figures were silent as they turned to look at him. Soon they both faced him and one of them spoke up.

"To think we would run into you here. The irony." a male voice said

"I take it you know who I am." Jiraiya said with his arms at his side ready to draw a weapon at a moments notice

He tenses as they went to take off their hats and his eyes widened as he looked at a blue head of hair with an origami rose in it and a pair of orange eyes behind the high collar of the black and blue cloak and a mop of red hair with ringed eyes behind the other. They unbuttoned the collars of their cloaks to show him their faces.

"Long time no see, Jiraiya sensei." Nagato said with a stoic face

"Y-you two. but how?" he said in surprise and astonishment

"That's a long story." Nagato said

Jiraiya's face hardened

"From those cloaks I take it that you're both working with the akatsuki." Jiraiya said getting into a battle position

"No, actually we broke off from them a while ago. They've tainted the dream that Yahiko had for the akatsuki. Our original goal was peace in the shinobi world." Konan said

"Is that so? And why should I believe anything you two say?" he asked

"I take it you've heard what happened to the Hidden Rain Village. That was our doing." Nagato said

"What? What happened?"

"That is a story better told away from the open world." Nagato said being cautious to their surroundings

"If what you say is true, then let's head back to the Fire Capital. We'll talk there."

The two former Hidden Rain Shinobi nodded and they made their way back to the Capital. Soon they found themselves sitting at a dining table in a large hotel room safe away from prying ears. Jiraiya activated some privacy seals and spoke.

"So tell me what happened in the Hidden Rain."

There was a moment of silence as Nagato sighed and looked up at his sensei who was leaning against the wall with his arms crossed.

"The man in the mask goes by Madara Uchiha. He approached us years ago trying to join the akatsuki. Akatsuki was originally made to change the world and bring peace among all nations. That was the dream Yahiko shared with us and we strived to help him achieve his purpose. We had made progress trying to bring peace to the Hidden Rain, even going as far as gaining a meeting with Hanzo the Salamander. But, when we went to meet him, he betrayed us and held Konan captive. He gave us an ultimatum: either I kill myself or kill Yahiko. Before I could do anything…Yahiko thrust himself onto the kunai, killing himself. He…said he would leave it all to me and…things got darker from there" he said trailing off

"And that led to the recreation of the akatsuki and your degradation into finding the jinchuriki" Jiraiya continued

"Yes, but then we found out information from myself eavesdropping on him and an accomplice of his, revealing himself as the one who instigated the 3rd shinobi world war and turning the Hidden Rain into a stomping ground for the Land of Earth, Fire and Lightning along with several other nations. He was also the one that gave Nagato the Rinnegan and got his parents killed." Konan added

"Gave him the Rinnegan?" Jiraiya asked with a raised eyebrow

"Yes, apparently these are his spare Rinnegan and he removed my original eyes at my birth." Nagato drawled out with a fist clenching

"So that's how you got the eyes of the Sage. They're supposedly Madara's eyes huh? " his former teacher asked in rhetorical manner

"We recently found out that he's been asserting himself with those of another realm." Konan continued

"Another Realm?" Jiraiya said narrowing his eyes

"Yes, I've seen the summoning circle myself. He seems to have aligned himself with demons." Konan continued

"Demons eh? And have you seen them?" Jiraiya asked

"We've killed two of them. This may be hard to believe but, when I first used my Rinnegan against Hanzo, the demonic statue of the outer path sucked out almost all of the very essence of my lifeforce. By killing and absorbing the lifeforce of one of those demons I was able to heal myself and walk like a normal person again" Nagato said causing Jiraiya to breakout in a cold sweat

"Dammit!" Jiraiya said, causing both of his students to look at him questioningly. They looked at each other then at him. Jiraiya took a deep breath then looked at them both

"Listen you two. Do you think you can handle the akatsuki or will you require assistance?"

"We were actually on the way to warn the Hidden Leaf and we have several operatives on the way to the other 5 great nations to warn them of the akatsuki. We planned to assist you all in neutralizing and or killing them." Nagato said

"Ok. Ok, I need to tell the two of you something. The world is in for dark times unless we assess each incoming threat" Jiraiya said gravely

"What do you mean?" Konan asked narrowing her eye

"There's, a galactic empire threatening to kill everyone on the planet and they're also hunting Saiyans. This empire kills off the species of planets and sells them. At least from what I've been told from the Tsuchikage and the Saiyan Prince himself. Like you both with the demons, there have been alien interactions and killings just like with the demons you murdered. Unfortunately those tales of demons we heard weren't fairy tales just like with aliens" he retorted gravely

Nagato's eyes were wide throughout the whole thing as well as Konan.

"You mean, There's multiple threats coming all at once? Including Galactic troubles?" Konan asked

"Yes. It looks like we're entering the first Galactic War" Jiraiya said

Nagato and Konan looked at him like he was joking but he had a dead serious visage.

"It looks like we must get rid of them quickly then" Konan said

"No. This will take time. Sensei can we insure you for help getting rid of the akatsuki and the demon realm?" Nagato said

"Of course. The entire Leaf Village should be able to aid you all. I'll talk with our Hokagé and see what we can do. But don't think we shouldn't act fast. If what you said is true they will be resilient" He said

Nagato and Konan nodded with seriousness in their faces.

"We'll definitely handle everything as best as we can. But, who will handle this astronomic empire?" Nagato asked

"Leave that to the 5 great nations. If anything, I like your plan to warn the 5 great nations of the akatsuki. What would you need to help with your plans?" Jiraiya asked

"We've got eyes on them across the globe, but we'll need more powerful shinobi like myself and Konan to back them up." he replied

"Hmmm, I've got a plan. There's going to be a 5 Kagé Summit soon. I believe we can introduce- What's the name of your organization?" the kabuki wearing man asked

"Boshoku. We are the Twilight that cleans up with the Daybreak" Nagato replied with a serious look

Jiraiya smirked as he heard his student's explanation and he patted his shoulder.

"I always knew you'd do great things. Now let's head back to the Hidden Leaf village to discuss our course of actions." he said

In the Hidden Whirlpool Village:

Arashi stood before several traitors to his village with Genryusai in locked combat.

Genryusai cut an opponent down as he jumped back from a sealing formation under him.

A man with long pink hair, purple eyes and mature features stood in front of Arashu with a slash wound across his chest cavity.

"YOU FUCKING TRAITOR! AFTER ALL WE'VE DONE FOR YOU!" he yelled at Arashi

"Doriyu, my friend. Why do you resist change so much? We've seen the error of our ways by delegation with the Lands of Earth and Lightning. The Tsuchikage and Raikage wish us nothing but prosperity. The Raikage is not his predecessor and the 3rd Tsuchikage wanted nothing but peace" he asked

There was a tense stare between the two and Doriyu snarled

"PEACE! FUCK PEACE! I WILL HAVE PEACE WHEN THEY BLEED OUT!" he yelled out

"Doriyu, please. We've been through so much as a people. We built this country back up. THIS IS PETTINESS! WHAT ABOUT THE CHILDREN?!" he finally yelled out

"They will be safer when the Hidden Cloud and Stone no longer stand" Doriyu said as he spat out a glob of blood and dipped his finger in it drawing a seal on the ground

"No!" Arashi yelled as he pulled out a barrier seal and held it up channeling chakra into it.

Doriyu's body began to gain orange and yellow cracks in it and he began to glow with a fiery aura. He looked his old rival in the eyes as a tear of blood came down his face

"Seal of Abaddon!" He yelled and his eyes and body glowed red with a high intensity. Soon his body began to leak a fiery energy and the ground beneath him cratered, cracked and

splintered.

His body exploded with the fury of a nuclear bomb. Arashi knew his barrier seal wouldn't do much so he thought of the options he had, when suddenly Chika Shihoin appeared next to him in a white flash with a sad smile on his face.

"Arashi, this doesn't look good. It seems like the war for Uzushio is going to end in its destruction just as we've rebuilt."

"I know, but we have to get him out of here!" He said desperately

"Well. I'm fast enough to get him out of here but it would still cause a minor amount of damage to the village" he said

"What do you mean? As Uzukage this is my problem to-"

"You're out of options. Look, for what it's worth…I understand why Hikari was formed. But, this should be evidence that forming an assault force out of vengeance and hatred was never a good idea."

"So what? Are you going to sacrifice yourself?"

Chika looked at him with a smirk and he channeled a white aura around his body.

"Isn't it obvious? Well anyways, I've made my peace with it. My children are almost grown anyways. But, I believe Yushiro may still need guidance send him down the right path for me old friend" Chika said as he looked back at his old friend one last time

"Of course. I'll be there for as long as I live" Arashi said resolutely

And before he could blink Chika Shihoin was gone as he grabbed onto Doriyu dragging him across in a white and red blur to the edge of Uzushio and eventually to a nearby mountain. Then there was a mighty explosion that shook the very earth itself sending a concussive wave of shock and pressure that blew through multiple buildings and compounds sending half of the village into a wreck and blowing the Mist that covered the village to hide it away from the world. Arashi and several other combatants were knocked off their feet. The explosion could be seen all across the nations. Half of the continent was destroyed with the blast. As the smoke and debris cleared from the sky they could see a deep crater filling up with water where the Whirlpools use to be. Arashi shakily stood to his feet and looked to see his Village in harsh but fairly decent condition. Half of the Village had been destroyed and he would need to recreate the seals that kept the Whirlpool active for village defense. His eyes widened as he looked around to see several dead shinobi around him. He heard rocks shuffling behind him to see Genryusai getting to his feet. The Terumi clan-head looked to see the damage and his eyes widened in disbelief.

"Th-This is preposterous. How could he have used such a seal to almost destroy the village? Just how deep was his grief?" he asked

Arashi looked downcast as he knew this was his fault. He bore this hatred inside of him and several others. Speaking of the rest of the Hikari faction, he knew they were long gone by now. He knew he created a group of monsters, but how far would they fall.

Later that day in the Uzukagé tower council room:

"You mean they continued to run after being disbanded?!" a random councilmen yelled

Arashi nodded

"They were only supposed to be around to spy on other nations not destroy the village" Arashi retorted

"I give a fuck about their purpose now! They effectively destroyed half the land and our defenses! My Husband and the clan head of the Shihoin died today! Hikari should've never been assembled" Miyoko Suiryu said with Venom in her voice

Genryusai was silent as he watched the debate between the counselors. He knew this would happen, but he was dragged into it by circumstance. They needed a strike force to lead the armies but, now it backfired and he was facing the consequences with the Uzukage.

Shikaku Nara was a stressed out man as he had just felt the very earth tremor and an Anbu appeared in his room.

"Report! What in the name of the Sage was that?!" he asked seriously

"We aren't sure my lord but we saw the explosion come from the East near the country of Whirlpool" a boar masked Anbu said

"Get me the second team of the special ops unit asap!" he said

"Right away sir" the masked shinobi said as he body flickered away

He sighed and opened a drawer and pulled out a pack of cigarettes and a lighter. Then, he opened the window behind him, pulled out a cigarette, place it between his lips and lit it, inhaling deep and blowing the smoke out of the window as he watched the birds fly, shinobi move through the village and the people bustle through the streets handling their business. He had not been able to be as lazy as he used to be, what with being a military general and political figure.

'This job cannot kill me. I gotta make sure it doesn't" he thought blowing out more smoke

He was waiting to hear back about the 5 Kagé summit and he had shinobi in the field watching the akatsuki and handling the Hidden Sound. He figured the mission that he sent his son, Kakashi and Naruto on would be a good test for them. If they can bring down an entire intelligence agency lead by Jinsuke Shimura then they'd be alright.

Soon, he turned around to see 4 Special Ops in all black uniforms with black masks with slits for eyes and a leaf symbol in the middle of the forehead of the mask.

"Your orders are to go investigate the explosion in the east near the Land of Whirlpools. Send a message to the Uzukage that should he need anything he need not hesitate to ask" Shikaku said

"Yes sir!" the anbu said as they body flickered away

Shikaku put out his cigarette and went to grab the bottle of water on his desk to sip as he sat down in contemplation.

"I need a vacation" he said as he rubbed his forehead

Jiraiya was running towards the Village with Nagato and Konan behind him. They had felt the explosion in the distance and seen it but they kept it pushing as they couldn't waste time checking it out.

And soon they were coming up on the Village in the distance. They had been in a hurry as they had not stopped after they realized the level of threats that were impending. They needed to let the Hokage know of Boshoku and the plans they made to deal with the akatsuki. Luckily they had an ample amount of powerful allies in these battles and that would have to do for now. Perhaps with the 5 Kagé summit they could unite the world against the akatsuki fast enough and still have time to prepare for the Arcosians. Eventually they were upon the Village and they had to check in at the gate with Izumo and Kotetsu. As they checked in, the gate guards were eying Nagato and Konan wearily.

"Nothing to worry about, they're students of mine." he said

And Izumo nodded as he still kept an eye on them. Afterwards they began to leap through the village via rooftop and they headed straight for the Hokage Tower.

"So this is where you're from. The Hidden Leaf Village" Konan said to herself as she looked around to see the village streets full of vendors, small businesses, and the hustle and bustle of people. Several shinobi passed them on their way to the Hokage office, specifically the Special Op Forces.

'Looks like Shikaku sent out the special ops to Uzu' he thought to himself as he stepped and jumped off the roof landing on another roof as he began running.

He landed on the next rooftop and he stretched out his ki senses but he couldn't sense Naruto.

'Perhaps he sent Naruto out to investigate, or perhaps he sent him out to the land of Rice Fields' he thought

Eventually they landed before the Hokage Tower and they began to walk in through the front entrance. He wasn't much of a fan of such but, he knew he couldn't have Nagato and Konan enter through the window with him. They made their way past the secretary and Jiraiya was greeted by several shinobi and office workers. Next they made their way up a flight of stares and passed several doors in the corridor. They came upon the Hokage's office and Jiraiya knocked on the door. There was a moment of silence until they heard.

"Enter" allowed Jiraiya to open the door and he walked in with Nagato and Konan.

They walked in and stood in front of him. He was signing documents and stacking them without looking up for a moment. After signing the last document, he looked up at Jiraiya and then he looked at Konan, then Nagato.

"Jiraiya, and it seems you've brought me…akatsuki members?" he asked

"Not exactly. This is Nagato and Konan, 2 of my first 3 students from the Hidden Rain" Jiraiya said rubbing the back of his head sheepishly

Shikaku nodded, figuring out what happened to the 3rd student, after all the 4th Hokage was a student of his and he passed away as well. Jiraiya proceeded to get down to business.

"I've brought them here because they have news on the akatsuki" Jiraiya said

Shikaku looked at them and Nagato spoke

"We were originally apart of the akatsuki when it first formed"

Shikaku narrowed his eyes but he continued to listen

"Our initial goal was for world peace. We started out to stop wars and end conflicts in our country. We were approached by Madara Uchiha, who claimed that I was the Sage of 6 paths. He suggested that we gather the jinchuriki and harvest their tailed beasts but we declined his offer and separated ourselves from him. We did good work helping Hanzo the Salamander but he colluded with Danzo Shimura and betrayed us while killing the leader of our group, Yahiko. After Yahiko died, so did several other shinobi that were a part of our cause. Looking back at it, I believe either Danzo or Madara killed them. After Yahiko's death we proceeded to kill Hanzo and take over the Hidden Rain. We decided we would force our peace onto the world by capturing the Jinchuriki and ending all wars with them under our control. But, that's when Madara slipped up and Konan caught on to his schemes." he said allowing Konan to continue

"It seems that Madara was the one that orchestrated the 3rd shinobi war. He effectively turned our village into a stomping ground, killing thousands including our parents. We found this out from spying on him as he used some form of portal to go to what he called 'The Demon Realm'." she looked to Nagato to continue

"Knowing this, we turned on him and formed an ambush to kill him. He also claimed to have given Nagato his Rinnegan and he's planning to gather the jinchuriki and use them to create some form of eternal Tsukuyomi. Realizing this, we attempted to kill him but those that he associates with put a wrench in our plans. We moved the entire population of the HIdden Rain to deal with him but…we failed and regrouped in the Hidden Valley Village along with several thousands of people who either went to the Hidden Earth, Hidden Grass, Hidden Waterfall, Hidden Leaf or the Hidden Valley Villages. Wherever they chose honestly. We told them they could either follow us or move on" He finished

Shikaku folded his hands in front of his face as he closed his eyes. He inhaled deeply as he held in his breath, then he exhaled and rubbed his temples.

"What's your approach to it right now?" Shikaku asked

"We have several shinobi going to the other Hidden Villages to warn them of the akatsuki. We tend to travel in pairs. We have several chunin and genin shinobi in the Hidden Valley village but not many jonin, and they aren't equipped to deal with these s-class shinobi." Nagato said

"And what exactly are you guys then?" the Hokage asked

"We are Boshoku. The Twilight before daybreak" Nagato retorted

"You'll need more than that. Your front line is strong but you'll need more than what you have. We'll provide you support around the Land of Fire in the best way we can via any strong teams we have available." he said

Nagato nodded and spoke again

"In return we will have 6 members of our group in rotation throughout the elemental nations at all times." he said

"Moving forward we'll need to separate the battlefronts. We may also be able to send out some akatsuki patrol units to create a network of information When the Arcosian Empire gets here, we'll need to handle them without the akatsuki interfering. Will you be able to make due with the network and hold them off?" Shikaku asked

"As long as well have an information network and extra firepower things should be easy" Konan said

"Good, I'll also have the armory send some weapons out into the field for a resupply, just give the word" Shikaku said

Farruko Uzumaki was a shrewd man but not very patient as of the last 3 years. He had given the best years of his life to the rebuilding of the Whirlpool Village, establishing the 4 great houses of whirlpool and even liberating the Hidden Mist Village and being a temporary prisoner of war. But now to be denied his vengeance after all he had done. He smashed his fist into the rock he was standing next to causing it to crack.

"DAMN! And we were so close!" He said

He and the other rebels had made it into the fire country and were looking for a place to regroup.

"Sir, your daughter Xochi has been captured" he heard a voice say causing him to grimace even further

"We will be back for her. But first, we'll need to go make some allies and I think I know where to" he said with an ominous tone in his voice

He looked around him and saw various shinobi in red cloaks with a white sun on them and he spoke up

"We're going to the land of Sound! We should be there within the next day or so."

There was a scoff and he looked to see a man with a blue Diamond in the middle of his forehead and short white hair.

"You would have us aligned with trash?"

He shook his head and tightened his fists.

"No, I would have us use necessary evils to see our goals through and retake our home Urien!" He said in an authoritative tone

"Humph, call it whatever you want" he said as he turned away

And they began to make their way to the land of Rice Fields.

3 hours later:

Madara stood in a laboratory in the land of sound with Orochimaru and an elderly man with white mid length hair, a white goatee, a white mustache and a purple left eye. On his right eye he wears a device with a red lens. He wears a white lab coat over a buttoned purple vest. Underneath his vest, he wears a lighter purple shirt wing tip collar over a yellow necktie. He also wears brown pants along with some white and black dress shoes. Attached to his right wrist, he wields a large double blade, reminiscent of his mech form's claws, which he appears to have a mechanical hand inside.

"So, doc, what's the scoop on creating a Rinnegan? How do we make one?" he asked

"You need the DNA of a Senju to combine with the Uchiha and it causes the last evolution of the sharingan which is the Rinnegan" Orochimaru said as he took out a vile of Hashirama's blood

"Humph, figures you'd know" Zetsu said with irritation in his voice

"I'll be needing my mangekyo sharingan. So what can we do about this?" Madara asked

"I can use cells from your body to create another eye" the snake Sannin replied

Madara took a moment to think. He knew things could turn bad from this but he had Zetsu here and if the snake wanted to try something he would be hunted, captured and killed, Rinnegan or not. He nodded in agreement to the prospect

"Fine, why not. I could use a Rinnegan"

"Excellent. This will be my greatest experiment"

Soon Orochimaru began to make preparations and clear his operation table. Zetsu was on guard with those around him as he kept his eyes peeled. He soon felt several strong shinobi approaching the base.

"Looks like you have company Orochimaru." Zetsu said

"Hmmm, Wheelo, would you like to check on our guests?" he said

The white haired man scoffed

"What am I the guard dog?" he asked in annoyance

"No, but you are one of the strongest here who won't be preoccupied" he said with a grin

He walked out in annoyance as he had a foul expression amid his visage. He made his way through a long hallway lit with torches. He had his hands behind his back but still ready to act at a moment's notice. Soon he turned and saw a man with a mop of spikey blonde hair and a mask with the kanji of death on the front.

"Shi come along. I may need your help to kill off our guests in case they're hostile" he said and the being pushed himself up to begin to follow him.

They began to move forward to a blank wall and he put one hand in a ram seal. The wall began to drop down and they left the building to a grassy plain and they walked out into the forest. The sun was setting but not blaring through the trees due to the mountain. Looking around, he used his left eye to scan the area until he locked onto several lifeforce signatures. He looked over as Shi stoically as the black clad assassin who was in fact a copy of Minato walked ahead with an all black tri pronged kunai in hand. He followed behind him and kept his guard up, allowing the former to take the lead due to having teleportation seals around specific locations in the forest, especially near the hideout for combat purposes. They finally came upon a group of individuals wearing red hooded cloaks.

"Who goes there?" Wheelo said in a gruff tone

There was a moment of silence until a figure walked forward.

"We are here to seek refuge" the bare toned voice spoke out revealing that of a man

Wheelo's head tilted and he looked at them with a curious gaze.

"Do you know where you are?" He asked in a curious tone

"We seek an audience with the leader of the Hidden Sound Village. We are of the Hidden Whirlpool country seeking asylum" he said

"Ohhh, I see, yes. The Snake should be happy to see you all. As am I. Follow me." he said in a greedy tone, turning around and walking forward with Shi walking behind him as a buffer between the red cloaked newcomers.

Teams 7 & 10 were resting in a forest near a lake and they heard the explosion go off. Naruto saw the concussive force coming towards them and he went through hand signs ending on the bird and he blew out a huge gust of wind to combat the force. As he did he saw all the forest around him get ruffled and even some trees uprooted. After a few more moments the high winds stopped. He looked back to see that Sasuke had brought up his Susano'o to shield himself and Hinata while Kakashi created a thick wall of earth to barricade them. The part of the forest they were in looked disheveled and he looked back with his eyes wide in fear to see where the explosion came from.

"That's near the Hidden Whirlpool Village." he said in fear and anxiety

He looked back at Kakashi and Asuma with worry in his eyes and he spoke up.

"I'm sorry sensei I-"

"Naruto! We're already on a mission! I'm sure the Uzumaki clan can take care of themselves. The Hokage will send out a reconnaissance squad to check it out so please, don't do anything reckless" Kakashi said as he sighed as he looked south east toward the land of Whirlpools

He squatted and went through hand signs putting them on the ground and summoning a small dog with a vest jacket and headband.

"Yo, Kakashi."

"Good to see you Pakkun" he said

"What happened around here?" the dog asked

"I was hoping I could send you south east near Whirlpool Country. Anything you find, please take it back to the Hokage." he said

"Alright. I'm on it" he said as he leapt into the bushes

"There, now anything he finds will be scent to the village." Kakashi said to Naruto

The blonde was still anxious but he calmed down. Still he felt as if there was something that caused it that possibly only he and a handful of others could stop. A hand tapped his shoulder and he looked up to see Hinata with a concerned look in her eyes.

"I can't ask you not to worry, but have faith in Pakkun and the Hokage" she said

"Yea, we have a mission to complete and you can't go running off when you see something crazy. What if we were in an all out war?" Sasuke asked

Naruto looked down at his hands and inhaled deeply and exhaled.

"Right. I need to stay on task." Naruto said running his right hand through his hair

He looked up at the sky then he stood up.

"I'm gonna get some water" he said walking over to a nearby stream to refill his canteen

Shikamaru was lying on the grass nearby his teammates again keeping an eye on his jinchuriki teammate for a few moments then he looked back up at the clouds.

30 minutes passed and eventually they were off towards the land of Sound again. They made their way through half destroyed forests until they began to see a more healthier looking forest. They eventually took off their headbands and went under hinges. Then made their way to the Valley of the End making their way to a small town on the outskirts of The Land of Rice Fields.

"We'll setup in an inn around town and get a base of operations setup" Kakashi said

"Everyone put your headbands away and get under a transformation hinge" Asuma said

It was a poor looking Village, but it had some decent They got set up and they all met in the largest suite possible. Kakashi and Naruto put up several privacy seals before they began to speak.

"Alright, then let's go over the shifts. We'll move in pairs under transformation hinges and there will only be 4 of us out at a time. This should go without saying but we should hide our headbands as well" Asuma said

They all nodded

"Now that we've established that, we should probably cycle out every 3 hours to be safe." Kakashi said

"As to avoid being trailed, we should use my transportation seals." Naruto said

"Transportation seals?" Ino asked in question

"The seals are made similarly to my Hiraishin but they're like children and can only teleport with the connection of a parent seal" he continued

"Hmmm, and we can just channel chakra into them?" she asked

"Yea, but they'll only bring you where you wanna be so make sure you place them in a good place. Preferably your rooms." Naruto replied

Kakashi pulled out a map of the Land of Rice Fields with several marks of what are supposed to be bases of operations from Orochimaru.

"This is the map that Lord Jiraiya gave me. The marks here show the main bases of the Hidden Sound. Some of them aren't even close to here, for instance the special ops went opposite of us near the land of waves. The one where we are is supposed to be an information hub, where Jinsuke Shimura is located. There are 3 safe houses around here with several shinobi guards claiming to be from the Fuma clan." Kakashi rattled off

"I've heard that they started adopting rogue ninja into their ranks recently" Asuma said

"Yea, I wouldn't be surprised if they were snooping around" Shikamaru said

"And they've probably assumed that something is wrong due to not hearing any word from Kabuto or their other spies" Kakashi added

"Well, it looks like we'll need to adopt code names and disguises if we're gonna succeed here" Ino retorted

Choji was silent but he made crunching sounds as he sat on a futon eating a bag of barbeque chips. Sasuke was quiet as he listened to everything being said. Hinata sat near the window with her Byakugan, activating every now and then.

"So what will be our code names?" Naruto asked

"We'll make them now" Kakashi said

After deciding everything for who would infiltrate the village. Kakashi, Hinata, Shikamaru and Ino infiltrated while Naruto, Sasuke, Choji and Asuma waited for the signal. While in the village the team of infiltrators went under a hinge and adopted the names of a family of merchants. They were soon able to set up shop near a hotel selling traveling goods.

"I'll go check out the village and let you know what I find" Kakashi said

"I'll come with you" Hinata said

"That's fine. We'll all meet back here in a few hours. WHile we're gone see if you can find anything out about the shinobi around here" Kakashi said

"Will do." Shikamaru said while Ino nodded.

The rest of the team and they took off at a civilian pace leaving the building splitting down the street. Shikamaru and Ino worked at the stand that they set up selling travel items near the hotel. While the other two looked around the village. Hinata found that Kakashi had a way of working with people as he disarmed people with his words and subtly got them to be neighborly with him without even using his sharingan genjutsu. As he did so, she posed as his daughter and spoke when spoken too as she herself found out about a local clan of shinobi called the Fuma clan. Kakashi learned about several people in the village going missing lately. As they made their rounds they found out the correlation between the Fuma clan and the Hidden Sound Village.

"So the Hidden Sound has the Fuma clan as their resident shinobi watching over these lands" Hinata said in a hushed voice as they made their way around the village.

"Yea, and it seems that several people have been disappearing around this village at night. I have a suspicion that this is their doing" Kakashi said in another hushed tone.

"Should we make our way back to the Hotel we're staying at?" Hinata asked

"Yea, we should. But first we need to see the Fuma compound." Kakashi replied

After turning a corner they saw several high black iron-barred gates with an edo style set of japanese castles behind them. The entrance had a banner that said Fuma Clan on it.

"Is this the same Fuma clan that invaded the village?" Hinata asked

"Yes, they did help Orochimaru during the invasion. We were assembled with team 10 to get rid of them for good. And now that we've gotten our view of the compound we can make our way around here discreetly and head back to the hotel." Kakashi said

Soon, the two made their way out of the street with the entrance to the compound and then they began to make their way to a local tea house so as not to look suspicious.

After making their way back to the stall in front of the Hotel Kakashi nodded at Shikamaru giving him a signal to step down for lunch. They made their way into the hotel and back to one of the rooms. Kakashi activated a privacy seal as they all made it to one of the rooms.

"We've found out that the Fuma clan are working for Orochimaru and that there are people disappearing at night. Also I have a suspicion that the same Fuma clan is under those akatsuki members that attacked the village." Kakashi said

"I found out something as well. It seems that they're holding onto bodies of dead shinobi for some strange purpose" Shikamaru said

"Probably for the Edo Tensei jutsu that brought back the 1st Hokage and Bardock the destroyer." Kakashi replied.

"From what I saw, it seems like they have a lot of privacy seals to where even my Byakugan couldn't see in there either." Hinata said

"Perhaps we should bring in the rest of the team and investigate." Ino suggested

"Good idea, I also saw that they have an active ninja force moving about the village and we never know when the akatsuki might reappear." Shikamaru nodded.

Kakashi made a shadow clone and had it go under his hinge and get the rest of their teams via body flickering through the window. As the clone leapt in a body flicker he noticed that night was coming soon.

Naruto, Choji, Asuma and Sasuke were in the village under a hinge. They were given an update on the status of the mission. They had to scout out the village for a few weeks to understand the rotations of the guards to attack the Fuma clan and the Hidden Sound Village. And as they learned their patterns they heard that one of the clan heads was coming back and they calculated a plan of attack as they lay in wait. Eventually they realized that they hadn't been able to make contact with the team they were supposed to meet. One day Pakkun found the scent of rotting flesh.

"Kami!" Naruto said as he Kakashi and Hinata found the dead bodies of the leaf shinobi

"It…looks like their faces were ripped off" Hinata said

"This is Orochimaru's body stealing technique. He must be here as well. Let's make our way back." Kakashi said after putting the bodies in scrolls

"Could they know we're here?" Naruto asked

"We have to consider that. Maybe they knew we would come but don't know we're here. Either way, stay active." the masked man said

Naruto and Hinata walked through the Land of Sound in disguised transformations. His disguise was brown hair, brown eyes and no whiskers. His fake name was Tadao Matsuda and she was his wife under the name of Ryoko Matsuda. She had short blue hair and green eyes. It wasn't so awkward for them because they were actually dating and so they could never really be suspected of anything.

The morning was cool and the town was kissed by the sun as people walked through the towns. It was the beginning of the hustle and bustle of the environment. They were walking around the town, getting the lay of the land and getting to know some of the locals. They had begun to get to know a member of the Fuma clan recently while Naruto was working at one of their restaurants and Hinata was working at a baked goods shop.

"What do you think about this place, so far?" He asked her making casual conversation

"I like this small town, I could learn to like this place. But those dead bodies…" she replied smiling at him

"I agree. It'll be better once we smoke out the Sound shinobi hiding around here. But, other than that, what do you think of the people here?" He asked

"Well, the job I have has been nice. My coworker Sasame is very sweet. Apparently, she's part of the Fuma clan" she said.

"Really?" he retorted as he stretched out his senses and found no shinobi around them. He kept his senses active as they continued to speak.

He cracked his neck as she continued.

"Yes, she's a very talkative girl. She invited us to a family dinner later tonight." Hinata said

"Hmmm, it might be nice to meet them. What do you think Ryoko?" he said as she gave him a reassuring smile

"Yes, I was thinking that perhaps we could attend later tonight. They said it was a casual event but perhaps we could…go Tadao?" She said

Tadao nodded as he and Ryoko kept walking through the village towards her job.

Night fall two weeks later:

Sasuke stood with Hinata as they used their dojutsu to watch the mansion of the Fuma clan. Soon a lone shinobi walked up to the compound and he was let in with ease. Hinata tapped her radio to speak.

"The target has been spotted and is entering the building, over"

"Got it, over." Naruto said as he and Kakashi stood in hidden places inside of the mansion after knocking them out and taking their sound ninja uniforms.

They stood at attention as the Fuma clan member walked past. Arashi had long, smooth, chin-length purple hair and gray-coloured eyes. His bangs hung just over his eyebrows. He wore a green short sleeve shirt, but the collar and sleeves were white. He also wore two black arm sleeves on his lower arms and long gray pants.

"You two, come with me!" he said

Causing them to follow him. They walked for a while until they came into the armoring. Arashi locked the door and Kakashi got a bad feeling. Arashi turned around as an evil smile grew to split his face.

"Sorry, but you two will be instrumental in the experiment process for this technique I got from Lord Orochimaru and I can't keep killing civilians because their bodies are too weak and don't last" he said as his cursed seal began to activate and spread across his body began to transform and expand, tearing through his clothes

Naruto rolled his eyes and held out his right hand as he went through hand signs with his left hand ending on the bird seal.

"Wind Style: Gale Force Palm" he yelled as a force of wind smashed into the man's stomach sending the man flying through the door that he locked. Naruto jumped high and slammed his foot into the man's stomach causing the cursed mark to reseal and he placed a chakra ink suppression seal onto him.

Suddenly, he had to jump off the shinobi and Kakashi came out whistling as he looked at the body of the defeated man.

"Your takedown skills have gotten much better, Naruto. Now let's head to where the akatsuki member is" the masked man said.

Soon, they began to run through the hallway cutting down and knocking out their opponents. As they fought their environment began to change from inside to outside as they jumped out of the windows breaking the glass. Soon they came upon the sound of hands clapping as they ran out of opponents attacking them. They looked up at the ledge of a building under the moonlight to see the person they were looking for.

"Sosetsu Fuma! You are under arrest for your crimes against the Hidden Leaf Village." Kakashi said, looking up at the Fuma Clan member.

"Like hell. It's so nice of you to follow us to our home, now we have the advantage." Sosetsu said.

They looked around as 5 more shinobi walked out.

But just as they walked out there were explosions on two sides of the mansion.

"Jigumo, Kagero, Hanzaki, Sasame, Kotohime, find the intruders. I'll deal with them." he said

Kotohime and Sasame went in one direction while Jigumo, Kagero and Hanzaki went in another.

"Team Asuma, spread out." The ninja guardian said.

Shikamaru ran with Choji while Asuma ran with Ino. As they ran for a bit Asuma stopped as well as holding his hand in front of Ino.

"Hold on a minute, Ino. We've got company" he said as he drew his trench knives and Kotohime walked out from around the corner

A woman walked out with long black hair, which is in a hime-style cut, and black, pupiless eyes. Attire-wise, she wears a pale green form-fitting vest, with an opening in the center which shows off her cleavage and her stomach, and a camouflage-patterned scarf and skirt. She is also seen wearing a red kimono while she was distracting her opponent. She wears a black bra. She has a black belt holding up her skirt. She also wears black shinobi shoes.

"Ohhh and what do we have here? 2 leaves in the snake's din" she said.

"Oh great. A lunatic," Ino said as Asuma got into a fighting position

"Ino back me up. I'll be doing a frontal assault" he said.

Sasuke and Hinata ran through the Fuma compound until they had to dodge several makibishi spikes on the ground. Sasame stood in front of them with her arms crossed. She had orange hair, brown eyes, light skin, wore a blue beanie had, a lavender purple short sleeve shirt, gray ninja shorts and blue shinobi sandals.

Sasuke rolled his eyes and charged a chidori around his left hand and swung his hand in a horizontal motion sending out several lightning senbon causing her to dodge. Hinata took advantage of this by charging lightning into her right hand and slamming it into her stomach sending her flying into a wall knocked out.

"That was too easy." Sasuke said in suspicion.

Soon she turned into mud and Sasuke turned around drawing his chokuto and blocking a kunai stab from Sasame and kicking her in her stomach causing her feet to slide across the grunt as she grunted in pain. Hinata walked forward in her jukkin form.

"Sasuke, I'll take care of her and catch up to you. Please go and help Naruto." Hinata said

Sasuke nodded and ran off as Sasame grunted in annoyance at being bested by him.

"After I'm done with you he's next." Sasame said

Hinata smirked as she spoke.

"You're in my field of divination!"

"What?" Sasame said in alarm.

Shikamaru and Choji ran through the building knocking out opponents until they came across 3 more opponents. One of them had short smooth black hair and dark-coloured eyes. He also had thick eyebrows. He wore a short sleeve brown shirt with a maroon-coloured line running down to the end of the shirt on the right side, a black pair of fingerless gloves, and a gray pair of pants. He had a set of scissor pincers on his right arm and a black strap holding it to his arm. He also wore a gray t-shirt under his brown shirt. He wore a black belt to hold up his pants and they had a silver belt buckle on them. He also had sideburns running down the side of his face to the bottom of his ears.

"I am Kamikiri Fuma honorary member of the Fuma clan and you shall not pass"

Another had neck length green hair, dark blue eyes, had crème skin, and wore a white strapless top with a purple belt tied around her waist and a white skirt with black shinobi shoes. She also had black shinobi gloves.

She activated her chakra scalpels and got into a fighting stance.

"Kamikiri you talk too much" she said

"Shut up Kagero! It's honorable to give your name to worthy opponents." He said in annoyance

The other shinobi is Jigumo, a bald man with long spider-like limbs. He also had very thick eye-brows and a scar on his right eye.

"Both of you stop talking and start killing!" He said but he noticed he couldn't move.

Shikamaru smirked as his hands were in the rat seal.

"Choji now!"

"Right!" Choji yelled running forward, punching Jigumo so hard he flew through several walls of the mansion.

"Fuck!" Kamikiri yelled, grabbing his scissor like blade to attack Shikamaru who used his shadow possession technique to stab at Kamikiri who had to dodge as he was sliced across his rib cage.

His body flickered away as the shadow spread across the ground.

Meanwhile Kagero dodged a punch from Choji and moved to swipe his left shoulder with her chakra scalpel.

"Urgh!" Choji yelled as he jumped backwards holding his shoulder.

"Such a careless mistake. And you call yourself a shinobi" she said in a monotonous voice.

Choji knew he had met his match as he couldn't move his left arm. As she moved in to finish him, Shikamaru sent a shadow tendril across the ground. She jumped back and landed next to Kamikiri.

"I'll take care of the shadow user. You get rid of the fat one." Kamikiri said.

Naruto and Kakashi stood below Sosetsu as they could hear the other battles going on around them.

"We came prepared for anything as you can see" said the Fuma clansman.

"I thought there were only 4 Fuma clansman" Kakashi said

"We allowed them to join because they showed a competent level of skill. Besides they mislead you all into coming here" Sosetsu said

"Mislead?" Naruto asked

"Ah, ah, ahhh. I'm not telling"

Kakashi grimaced in annoyance.

"So this isn't your headquarters nor is Orochimaru around here." Kakashi said.

"Now you're getting it. As we speak those you look for are moving to a different location."

Naruto cracked his knuckles as Kakashi pulled up his headband.

"Seems like you'll be telling us after we kick your ass." Naruto said

Kakashi sighed at his students' antics.

"Naruto, our goal is to capture him and have it to where he can still talk" Kakashi said

"Right. But if we have to we'll beat his ass" Naruto said

Soon they had to brace themselves as Sosetsu activated his mangekyo sharingan.

"We'll see who defeats who when this is over" he said
