Mother's Day!

The day was Mother's Day. Prince Mario The Sonic Plush is looking outside the window of the castle. The kids- Joseph, Dashie and Miles have already given Twilight their Mother's Day presents. As well as Spike, as he considers Twilight to be his mother.
Outside the window, he sees many ponies alike bonding with their mothers. Playing and laughing together.
It made him sigh.
Suddenly, he hears a knock on the door to his room. He opens it to see his now wife, Princess Twilight, holding bags with her hands.
"Mario, honey. I'm going off to Canterlot for the day to visit my mother. I haven't seen her in a while and I wish to spend time with her.", said Twilight, "Maybe you should go visit your mother too.",
"I don't know, Twi. I never got a gift for her. What if she hates me for it?", asked Mario, "As a matter of fact, if we are both going out of the castle, who's going to watch the kids?"
"Your mother, Lara, loves you very much and considers you her whole world! She practically adores you! Why should she despise you just because you didn't get her a gift?! She won't be mad!", yelled out Twilight
"Nothing. It's just..Tony would threaten to beat me if I didn't get him anything for Father's Day, even though he never deserved crap from me.", said MTSP, "That brings back painful memories as that happened quite a few times. Even when I did give him a gift, he would scream at me. Very ungrateful if you ask me. It brings back traumatic memories."
"Your mom is not like Tony at all. She kicked him out and sent him to jail for a reason! She will never get so angry like this!
Plus, do not worry about the kids. I already trust Joseph to be in charge of the other kids. He is old enough not to mind his younger siblings while we're both gone. Besides, Spike will be there. Just go." said Twilight
The prince sighs. He nods. He acknowledges Twilight is right. His mom will not be mad at him if he doesn't show up with a gift.
"Bye hun." said MTSP
He kisses her on the lips. She kisses him back.
"Say hello to your parents for me, will you?" asked Mario
"Yes I will, and also tell your mom I said hi." said Twilight
They both walk out of their bedroom. They wave goodbye to the kids and walk out the door.
Penny Ling sprawls onto Dashie, while Mouster and Wolfshocker are cuddling with the boys. Spike simply gives a thumbs up.

Mario and Twilight split up.
The prince shakes nervously. He continues to shed tears wishing Twilight was with him to boost his confidence.
Since that fateful day he was almost killed by Slade and returned alive, he has been scared to be SEPARATED from Twilight. It's been five years since that event and he still can't let it go.
Negative thoughts start to creep inside his head.
"What if Twilight is wrong? What if my mom acts out of character for some reason and yells at me for not even getting her anything special? No, I do not want to think like that. My mother loves me too much to do that. She would never lash out like that." MTSP thought
He then uses the deep breathing techniques Twilight taught him. He takes a deep breath in and out.
"I can do this. I have faced the impossible before. Facing my mom will not go so bad." said MTSP
He then uses his magic to teleport himself to Podeneck, NY in the United States on Earth.
Earth
Podeneck, NY 10:10 AM
Mario The Sonic Plush arrives at his old hometown. He starts walking down the street since his mom's house is only 10 minutes away.
Minutes have passed and Mario has reached the doorstep of his mother's house.
He knocks on the door. However, nobody opened it, so he rang the doorbell.

Lara is outside in the backyard, wrapping up the planting for her garden for today, while George is taking a nap with the baby Katie, who is a year old at this point.
Kel is in the middle of playing a video game "Super Smash Bros" on the Wii U. He hears the doorbell ring and pauses the game.
"That's weird. Dad and Lara never told me anyone is coming here today." Kel said, "I guess I'll go open it."
Kel walks right up to the door, grabs the key, and starts opening it.

The door finally opens and Mario sees his little step-brother, Kel, at the door.
Mario is left confused but smiles at the presence of the kid.
"Mario!", cheered Kel
"Kel!", yelled out Mario
The two embrace each other in a big hug.
They pull away from each other.
Kel ushers his older brother inside.
"So. How are things with Flurry? Are you behaving well for Mom and Dad?", asked MTSP
Kel nods.
"Yup. Everything is good with them. Flurry Heart comes over almost every day now from Equestria, thanks to her parents for being able to bring her over, and we like to play with each other. Our relationship is growing. I don't seem to get into too much trouble with our parents nowadays, and after all, they have another kid of their own, my sister at that, so I try to be on my best behavior for the baby too." Kel said while smiling.
"That's good.", said Mario,
Mario's expression changes. He is all confused as he doesn't see his mom anywhere.
"But anyways. Where is Mom? I want to talk to her, and you know, spend some time with her. It's Mother's Day after all, so where is she?" The Prince asks.
"Oh. Well, Lara is in the garden. She is just finishing off with planting the flowers, so she will be back inside in a few.", said Kel
The prince nods.
A minute later, Lara comes inside. Mario looks at his mom with a smile on his face. Lara smiles but is surprised to see who dropped in.
"M-Mario?" asked Lara, "Is that you, sweetie?"
"Mom! Of course it's me. Who else would drop in unexpected, at this time, without a call? It's Mother's Day after all. I don't want to miss a moment with my mom." MTSP smiles, as he laughs a bit
Lara rushes to hug her son. The prince hugs his mother back. Tears streamed down his eyes as if it had been a long time since he saw her.
They split apart from the hug.
MTSP's expression changes. He is sad. More tears are coming out of his eyes and his cheeks are becoming a light shade of red.
"Mom. I just want to say that...I am sorry." he said
Lara is confused.
"Sorry? But for what?" asked Lara
"I didn't even get you a GIFT! I forgot to get one for you. I failed, Mom. I failed as a son. For that, I very much apologize. If you are mad at me, perhaps I deserve it but I really love you very much and I want you to know that." said MTSP
"Mario. You do not have to apologize for anything. I really don't care." said Lara
"Mom? You're not mad?" asked Mario, "I mean, I knew you wouldn't be but I was thinking you would have been disappointed I didn-" he was saying this before he got cut off
"Mario! Why would I be mad? Why would I? I have nothing to be disappointed about. Mother's Day isn't about presents. Forget gifts. All this materialistic stuff. They are praised too highly anyway. It's not all about that. It's about showing your mother how much you love her and that I also get to show you, in return, how much I love you.
You did not need to get me anything to prove that you love me. I don't even care if you never even got me a plant. Gift or no gift, Mother's Day is still special. Gifts do not matter.
If I got anything, my gift was you coming to visit me. I never would have expected this and I am happy you think so much about me. You might be a grown adult hero who is now in Equestria, a prince I might add, but you are still my baby boy." said Lara, "Thank you."
Mario smiles. He is relieved that his mother isn't mad at him for not getting her a gift. Quite the opposite. Lara is too sweet and kind to be like that.
"You are welcome. I am just glad I get to visit you." said the Prince
Mario then thinks of another thing to talk to his mom about.
"Mom. I have to say thanks. You probably have no idea how much you have impacted me positively in my life. You supported me. You never gave up on me at all, even when Tony and the bullies at school were putting me down. You made sure that none of us would have to be near Tony any longer. You urged me to still make friends despite the hardships I was facing with that. I wouldn't be half the person I am today without you being there for me in my life. Without your positive influence. I probably wouldn't even have Twilight without you.
Yes, there were times when you weren't there but that was because you were busy at work and Tony would keep you away from me. I also understand now why you had to keep my true place of birth a secret. It was so that villains from Equestria never found out about me and wouldn't come after me, you, or my friends on Earth during my childhood. You put your foot down. You weren't afraid to defend me from the ones who had shunned me and treated me like crap. You advocated for me, every step of the way.
I really love you. Thank you." he said
Lara begins to shed some tears.
She wraps her son in another tight hug.
"You're welcome, sweetie. I love you too. No matter what, you'll always be my little boy." she said
Lara then pulls away from the hug.
"I haven't exactly told Twilight yet but I am thinking I'll stay the night here and then I'll go back to Equestria in the morning. Is that okay with you?" asked the Prince
"Of course. You are welcome any time." said Lara
Mario then decides to call Twilight on his phone (A/N yes both of them have cell phones) to let her know about his stay.
Twilight picks up.
"Hello?" asked Twilight
"Hey, this is your husband, Mario. I just want to let you know that for tonight, I am staying at my mother's. I should be back in Equestria tomorrow. I hope that's alright with you." he said
Twilight smiles on the other end.
"Of course. Go ahead. You are allowed to spend some more time with your mom. It's really good that you're doing that." she said
"Yeah. Anyways, make sure, if you haven't already to tell your parents I said hello." said the prince
"I will." said Twilight
"Yeah. See you in the morning, honey. I love you." said Mario, blowing a kiss
"I love you too, sweet prince." she said.
He hangs up the phone.

"So Mom. What do you want to do?" asked MTSP
"I think we should watch a movie. I wanted to see this new movie called Godzilla X Kong Part Three. Want to see that? It's on streaming." Lara asked
"Of course!" Mario said
"Hey, Kel! Come over here!" asked Lara
Kel rushed over to his stepmom.
"What is it, Lara?" asked Kel
"Want to watch the new Godzilla movie with us?" asked Lara
"Ah YES! I love Godzilla. RAWWRRR!" Kel said, trying to imitate Godzilla
Kel then sits down in between Lara and MTSP. Kel shuts off the game on the Wii U and turns on the movie.
So. Lara, Mario and Kel watched Godzilla x Kong Part III. They enjoyed the movie, especially during the parts where Godzilla and King Kong were fighting. Kel was squealing the whole time. Mario was shouting a big "YES" during the fight scenes with the kaijus.

Later, Lara ordered some pizza over the phone for dinner. A regular pie for herself, George, Kel and MTSP.
Suddenly, a knock is heard on the door. Lara opens it and sees the pizza guy. She hands the pizza guy a tip and he leaves.
George has already woken up from his nap by this time.
Lara runs to get Katie, and has her sit on the baby seat right next to Kel. Lara cuts the pizza with the cutter, and all four get up to get their slices.
Lara cuts a tiny slice for Katie. They all eat.
Mario chews on the pizza.
"Yum. This pizza is the best." said Mario
"MARIO! Don't you know you are not supposed to talk while you're eating?" asked Kel, laughing hysterically.
Katie gurgles.
"Know it all…" MTSP muttered, with a smirk on his face
They continue chowing down on their pizzas. Of course, some of them went to get seconds, then thirds.
Finally, they are all full.
"This is delicious." said Kel
"I know. They make really good pizza out here, son." said George
"Mario. Kel. Why don't you go play some video games while I clean up here?" asked Lara
"Great idea! Come on, big bro. Let's go." said Kel
Kel drags MTSP to the den.
Kel turns on the Wii U and inserts the game.
Both of them are playing "Super Smash Bros" for the Wii U again. They are doing versus. MTSP picked Sonic while Kel picked Pikachu.
They are playing the game non-stop for literally two hours and Kel kept beating MTSP every single time.
"Ugh. I can't believe I am being beaten by a kid!" yelled out MTSP, while laughing hysterically
"Face it, you suck at the game!" Kel said, with a smirk

Another hour went by, and the two got tired of playing.
Hours had passed and by 10:00 PM, MTSP decided to go to bed. The baby Katie was already fast asleep and Lara was exhausted.
MTSP decided to sleep in his old bedroom, and Kel went to sleep with his big stepbrother.
Lara had tucked both of them in.
"Goodnight kids." said Lara
"Goodnight Mom/Lara!" both Mario and Kel said respectively at the same time

The next morning at 9:00 AM, The prince is preparing to depart for Equestria. He looks at his mom, George, and Kel. George is holding Katie.
"Well, I better get going. Twilight has been spamming me with calls asking me when I am going to come back." said MTSP, "Thanks for everything, Mom."
"You're welcome." said Lara, with a smile, "I am glad I was able to spend time with you."
"Yeah. Oh. Btw, Twilight told me to tell you that she said hello." said Mario
"Oh. Well, tell her I said hello back. Ok?" Lara said while smiling
"I will." said MTSP
"Tell her I said hello as well." said Kel
Mario nods, giving Kel a thumbs up.
"Bye you all." said MTSP
Lara, George, Kel, and Katie waved goodbye to the prince as he teleported back home.

Equestria-
Friendship Castle, Ponyville 9:30 AM
MTSP stands by the castle. He walks up to it and opens the door with his keys.
He greets Twilight, the pets (Penny Ling, Mouster and Wolfshocker), Spike, and the kids (Joseph, Dashie and Miles).
"Daddy!" The three kids yelled out
MTSP is petting his animals. The kids wrap MTSP in a hug.
He hugs all his kids back.
They split from the hug as Mario goes over to kiss Twilight
"Twily, I'm back.", said MTSP
"How was it?", asked Twilight
"It was awesome. I'll tell you all about it later. For now, I have to settle in.", said the prince
He then walks to his bedroom. He sighs.
"It's so good to be home." Mario said to himself, "But I also love my mom."
