In the evening, Aurora invited me to a dance in the forest.
"Shall we dance by the lake, Serenity? The sky is illuminated by thousands of stars tonight."
She then pointed at the magnificent night sky over the lake, "I am the Northern Lights, and you are the Moon. Together we dance like we belong in the high skies at night!"
"Sure, Aurora!"
We danced together in the forest, illuminated by the combined light rays from both the Northern Lights and the Full Moon. How symbolic it is!
She asked me, "What do you think I sing when I am happy?"
To be honest, there was only one answer I could have given her: "I don't know."
With some wit, she reacted. "Of course you won't know, because I never told you. Well, I'll tell you now."
Aurora then began to sing.
Mä laulan, paista päivä, kulje kunnon kuu!
Työlki ellää, mut kaupal rikastuu!
Aurora was singing a folk song from the land of forests, while I attempt to sing along with her. There is something miraculous about her language, it sounded like it was taken from a book of fantasy!
I used my magic to create some accompanying instrumentals for the song. An accordion and some drums would work well for this!
We danced to the beat of the forest drums and the melody of the accordion, as the lake reflects the shining moonlight, the picturesque Northern Lights, and our dancing figures.
We then switched to another song, which is also in her language. The sounds of many acoustic guitars can be heard, forming a harmony to the beat of the song, as we continued to dance by the lakeside.
Metsässä kun käsikkäin tanssitaan,
Luonas olla tahdon vaan...
Aurora then told me as the instruments continue to play, "When we dance hand in hand in the forest, I only want to be close to you."
She... only wants to be close to me? The thought of this is just lovely!
While we continued to dance, I spotted the Otava from Earth for the first time in my life. The way the seven stars came together to point at the Pohjantähti, is simply meticulous.
After we had danced to this song, we decided to take a short break.
"Aurora,"
"Yes, Serenity?"
I then presented a special gift for her. "This is my present for you."
She accepted the gift. "Wow, a star-shaped locket? It looks so cute!"
"Yes. At some time, I'll have to return to the Moon. This locket allows you to talk to me, even on Earth. Please keep it, so that you remember me."
Aurora promised with a sweet voice, "I will, my dear prince."
She then asked me. "Serenity, do you often sing on the Moon?"
I was reminded of how I usually liked to sing out my thoughts on the Moon. Sometimes, I would be by the seaside, looking at the waters of the vast Sea of Serenity, and let my voice carry a melody of the moonlight, as I watch planet Earth rise above the horizon.
"I do. I have liked music since I was a young boy, and whenever I have thoughts, I would usually sing it out and write it out. When I'm feeling good, it would be such a pleasant time for me to sing, how joyful I feel."
My words seemed to make her smile. "I see. So we both like singing."
She then looked at the night sky, saying, "I wonder, will the sound of our melodies reach the other end of the sky?"
"Unfortunately, there are more than two hundred thousand miles between Earth and the Moon. In the vast vacuum in between, there will be no particles to carry the sound of our melodies to the other side."
I then looked at the locket. "However, with the locket, this barrier is no more. We can sing to each other from the opposite side of the sky!"
Aurora seemed fascinated. "That's great! We can make a duet over the sky."
A duet over the sky? That sounds very magical!
We then sung one more song, and danced to the eternal moonlight and the ambient Northern Lights.
She happily introduced the song. "This time, we're going to sing a song about how even a hundred lightnings cannot take love away from us."
This song is amazingly energetic. It feels like, the power of a hundred lightnings and a hundred suns are converging, and that power is channeled through the lyrics of this melody.
On tuolla tuhannet maailmat, ja yksi niistä meidän on!
With an elated voice, Aurora told me in the instrumental solo, "It means, there are a thousand worlds, and one out of them is ours! Do you agree, Serenity?"
"Mmhmm!" I affirmed.
As the key of the song changed, she went back to singing, as we danced in bliss.
In a perfect harmony, our steps and our voices unite, like the Full Moon and the Northern Lights in the night sky. I can feel, that we are connected, even though I do not fully understand Aurora's language, word by word. At least I managed to utter rakastan sinua?
As the song's jubilant beat comes to an end, we decide to call it a night.
"So, that's it, Serenity!" Aurora said gladly. "Do you want to come to my house and meet the fairies?"
I couldn't be more excited. "Sure!"
She then led me down the forest trail, on the way to her wooden house.
