Ch24
Felix poked at his food and forced himself to take a few bites. How the hell should I tell him? He looked over at Adrien who was eating happily, completely unaware of what his father was doing. Each day it felt like a battle, to tell him the truth or not. Frankly despite knowing Adrien well he didn't know how he would react if he knew the truth about his parents.
"Felix are you ok?" Adrien asked.
"Y-Yeah just tired," he said.
His cousin gave him a concerned look just as Nathalie came in. "Adrien your father has a few photoshoots today, you'll go after fencing," she said calmly.
Adrien nodded. "Got it Nathalie."
He looked at her from the corner of his eyes. Does she know? It wouldn't surprise him, she was everywhere in this place and his uncle's assistant. Damn her.
"Felix are you planning anything today?" Nathalie asked as she typed at her tablet.
"Just some personal errands," he said as calmly as he could muster. "I plan on meeting Kagami today."
Nathalie looked at him with a calm gaze, for a moment their eyes met and he could her analyzing him. "Very well let us know if you need anything," she said before turning around and leaving.
"What are you going to do with Kagami?" Adrien asked.
"Just talk. Later we can all do something," he said as he got up.
Adrien nodded. "Sounds good." His cousin then looked around as if to make sure they were alone. "About that thing, are you sure?" Adrien looked down his brow furrowed.
He took a deep breath. "I promise when I have more information I'll tell you, this is something you'll have to mentally prepare for."
Adrien looked up at him and nodded. "Fine. I trust you."
His words hit him in the heart, looking into Adrien's gaze he saw trust in them and truthfully that was probably one of the most important things in his life.
"Thank you," he said softly. "Just remember you should question everything, everyone has their own motives but only you can pilot your own life."
Adrien looked at him with concern in his eyes, his cousin didn't say anything he only looked down and nodded.
After they both finished eating and had gotten ready for the day Adrien left with his butler. "Are you sure you don't want me to drop you off anywhere?" Adrien asked.
He shook his head. "Kagami is coming to pick me up."
Adrien nodded. "Be safe."
I'll try. As he watched Adrien leave with his butler he looked at his uncle's office out of the corner of his eyes. You bastard what are you doing? He clenched his fists as he fought the urge to give it to his uncle. You put him in danger so many times, you really are a ruthless man. Gripping the miraculous in his pocket he was so tempted to him a surprise attack when Kagami's limo pulled up. Adrien deserves better.
Exiting the mansion he quickly entered the limo where he found Kagami alone reading a magazine. "What happened?" She asked as the limo drove off.
He folded his arms and sighed. "We need to talk. He looked around to make sure no one was looking, her limo had an automated servant so he didn't know if they were really alone. "In private," he said softly, meeting her gaze.
Kagami raised an eyebrow but nodded. "Take us to the park." She then took out a magazine and casually flipped through it. "Is Adrien is ok?"
He clenched his fists. "He's doing better, for now."
Kagami only nodded as the car parked itself in the nearby park. "Come on lets go," She said as she grabbed his hand.
She led him to a secluded park bench away from other people. It was a nice Parisian day, the sun shinned brightly over the quiet park. "So what happened?" Kagami asked.
He took a deep breath and looked her in the eyes. "My uncle is Hawkmoth."
Kagami's jaw dropped. He then told her what he found, how his aunt was really underneath the mansion. Kagami's usually stoic face was replaced by shock and horror as she covered her mouth, her eyes beginning to water as he finished explaining what he had found.
"Oh god. Does Adrien know?" Kagami asked softly.
He shook his head as a gust of wind passed through the area. "I haven't told him." Looking to the ground his heart sank. "It isn't easy, every day I fight with it."
"He has to know eventually," Kagami said firmly.
"I know," he muttered as his heart sank. Looking up he met her gaze. "I can't do this alone, I don't want Adrien to be under his father's control. I want him to be happy, can you help me with that?"
Kagami nodded. "I will," she said firmly.
A sense of relief washed over him as he smiled at her. "Thanks." His heart raced in his chest as he sat up on the bench and looked up at her. "This will be my biggest fight yet, but the stakes are worth it." He stared at Kagami as determination swelled up inside of him. "I won't let Adrien be manipulated. I know if his father found out the truth about him he'd do something horrible."
"I agree," Kagami said. "We'll have to prepare him, let him know that he can be the conductor of his life and that what his father is doing isn't normal."
He took out the Bee miraculous and gripped it tightly. "We'll do it, just the three of us." Standing up he placed the miraculous in his hair. "I have an errand to do."
"What kind of errand?" Kagami asked.
"Just an apology, we don't need anymore enemies than we can afford," He said. "Pollen buzz on!" He didn't really regret what he did to that girl but since she was important to Ladybug and a classmate to Adrien he figured he might as well put it behind them in case it came back to bite him in the ass.
In a flash he was transformed. "We'll be facing off against some strong enemies do all you can to prepared."
Kagami nodded, her eyes firm. "I will. For Adrien I'll do anything."
It was then his phone buzzed with an akuma alert. "He's at it again," he said gripping his phone tightly.
"Be careful," Kagami said as she placed a hand on his shoulder. "You'll need to be calm and precise."
He nodded as they headed towards Adrien's room and locked the door. "Pollen buzz on!" In an instant he transformed into hive and in another.
He leaped out of the room and into the city. You bastard you won't stop will you? Thinking of his uncle made his blood boil, he had made so many people suffer including Adrien. He quickly found the battle near the Louvre Museum. Ladybug, Viperion, and Cat Noir were battling an akumatized villain and an amok, in the distance his gaze narrowed in on a figure hiding on the roof.
"Hive we could use your help!" Cat Noir called.
"I will," he said glaring at Mayura in the distance. "I'll take out the source myself."
Please don't tell me she is a part of this. His blood boiled as he dodged the amok and jumped onto the roof.
Mayura turned to face him with her fan in hand her gaze hardened as their eyes made contact. "You'll pay for this," he said coldly.
He charged at her fist swinging. Mayura charged at him with her fan in hand, he blocked her attack as they exchanged blows. I know these techniques. He blocked her strikes and countered with his own.
Mayura frowned. "Who are you?"
He kicked her and sent her flying a few feet. "Your worst nightmare."
It took all of his willpower to not laugh, he had seen Nathalie in action a few times, and he knew how she fought. You two are the worst. How many lies have you told him? Tears of anger began to form in his eyes as he fought Mayura. His blood boiled as he fought her like a caged animal.
He blocked a few of her strikes and grabbed her harm before flipping her. Mayura landed on her feet just as Cat Noir came to his side. "It's over! His cousin said pointing his baton at her.
Mayura took something from her sleeve and threw it to the ground. Damn her. Smoke filled the air. He leaped through it but it was too late, she was already gone.
"Damn her," he swore as he struck the ground so hard it cracked. His body shook as he thought of Nathalie. How dare she.
"Hey are you ok Hive?" Cat Noir asked carefully.
He looked up at his cousin and nodded. "Fine for now. You?"
"I am," Cat Noir said his gaze betraying concern. "Are you sure you are ok?"
Looking into his cousin's gaze, the sincerity of his words made him grateful for his companionship. "I won't let anyone hurt you.
Cat Noir looked down for a moment before looking up at him. "Likewise."
He smiled at his cousin as a fiery determination burned inside of him. I won't let them manipulate you anymore.
Adrien knew something was up with his cousin. "Come on Felix what's going on?" he asked as they walked through the park with Kagami.
"Adrien there are things you need to prepare for," Felix said as they sat on a bench.
"Prepare for what?" He asked.
Kagami grabbed his hand. "Adrien we want to talk to you about your father and my mother."
"Wh-What?"
"Adrien our families aren't normal. My father was very abusive." Felix paused his eyes betraying the hurt inside of him. "Your father and Kagami's mother are controlling and it isn't healthy."
His insides turned, he never liked to think negatively of his father. After all, his father did everything for the family. "Yeah but he cares me."
Kagami gripped his hand firmly. "As does my mother. But does not excuse their behavior towards us."
"Your friend Nino was treated horribly because he wanted to give you a birthday party," Felix said folding his arms. "Your father constantly keeps your close to him and under his control."
"Yeah but that's because mom died," he protested. Yet even he knew that was a flimsy excuse. His father had always kept him under his thumb even when his mother was alive.
Felix met his gaze. "Adrien the way your father treats you isn't normal. You've seen other fathers in your life do they control their kids as much as your father controls you?"
He looked down at the grass thinking of all the friends he made and their fathers. Or even those who were his father's friends. A small seedling that had long lay dormant inside of him began to awaken. "No they don't," he said softly.
"Adrien," Kagami said calmly. "Your father loves but that does not excuse his actions."
"What did he do?" he asked.
Kagami and Felix froze and exchanged a look. So something is up. His heart raced thinking of what his father did wrong. "Please tell me," he said softly.
"We will," Felix said firmly. "But you need to be mentally prepared for when we do." His cousin stood up, his gaze was a mixture of sorrow and anger. "Your father has been doing a lot of things of which you are not aware. If we were to tell you now you'd probably have a mental break down."
He stared at his cousin in disbelief not knowing what to say. Just what are you both hiding? Yeah his father may not have been the warmest but Kagami and Felix were acting like he was a serial killer. Though to be honest it wouldn't surprise me if he did take a few rivals in the fashion world out.
Kagami placed a hand on his shoulder. "Just be prepared, when the time is right we'll tell you."
He smiled at her and nodded. "I'll do my best."
