Ch7
Well, there is some slight changes for this chapter and to my own surprise, I post it earlier than scheduled. Oh yeah, I'm still relying a lot from wiki which I'll tell you later. Enjoy!
It's just a few dozen meters away from the enemies and he's hiding behind Sinduramon's body like the deva ordered him before, he just complied with his words without any question. All he can do is fire the gun on his hands a couple times at best, and that won't guarantee to even delete a rookie level Digimon. Strangely, both Digimons on his side are just standing still. They seemed to agree on something about buying time. If that's the case, then talking to these Digimons would give them some, but only one or two minutes at best.
Yamaki stares at the tamers, they do their best to help those Digimons. He wanted to ask them to ditch those Digimons because their safety is his top priority. In the end, that thought stayed inside his head, saying that would cause an argument from some of them and just waste their already little time. As right now they haven't even reached halfway to the forest across them, it's quite concerning but what can he do? It's best for him to delay or distract their enemies.
"They see us." Sinduramon sits on the ground, hoping that will hide Yamaki better. "Just keep your cool, we'll handle this." As he expected, the deva seems to choose talking as a diversion. He couldn't agree more than this, but now he starts to wonder why he chose to stay behind. Isn't it better for him to keep close to them and use his gun as their last resort? Yamaki shakes his head. It's too late for that.
Those steps get louder until they stop, replaced by loud chatter amongst them. A loud step heard again, though only one Digimon stepped forward. "A deva, and you, again. Are you crawling back to us now, Gaogamon?" Gaogamon growled when Zudomon asked that, but Sinduramon chuckled. The deva is very calm about this. "What are you laughing at? From the looks of it, I can tell why you are here, but I want to hear it from your mouth first before I can introduce you to him."
Sinduramon stops laughing and pets Gaogamon's head, trying to calm the blue dog first. "Quite perceptive, aren't ya~? Hahaha" Behind Sinduramon's body, Yamaki is sure that the deva would squeeze as much time as he could with lip service before enganging in battle. The man would never expect what the deva said after that. "I do want to change teams, Zudomon. Can you help me arrange that?"
Both Yamaki and Gaogamon were surprised, the blue dog moved to attack the deva but easily held down by one of his wings. Despite Sinduramon's size being just a little bigger than Gaogamon, he has the advantage of raw strength because Gaogamon is exhausted. Meanwhile, Yamaki trying to stay positive and thinking that this is an elaborate way to stall them.
Watching Gaogamon's reaction makes Zudomon chuckle. "You're a sly one, Sinduramon. But that's not enough, what can you do for us? You didn't just betray him because you lost in number, right? Don't tell me you throw your pride and chicken out of that alone."
"That's.. an interesting choice of words, Zudomon." The deva replied. "But don't worry, I have something to show you."
The walrus wasn't expecting that answer from the deva, he looked back at his friends before facing Sinduramon again. "Alright, let's see it first. I mean.. well, frankly, I don't expect that at all. You sure are different from Pajiramon."
Sinduramon chuckles. "Don't compare me with him, he's just an idiot who blinded by those Digimons who called themselves gods." After he said this, Sinduramon steps to the side and reveals Yamaki. "As you can see, I have a human with me. But.. but.. the real prize is over there~" He points out the tamers who are running with a bunch of rookie level Digimons.
"WHAT!?" Yamaki aimed his gun towards the deva, but his body knocked to the side by him. He groaned in pain while trying to get up.
The moment Zudomon spots those tamers, he orders his peers to catch them. But Sinduramon blocks their way. "Calm down buddy, they won't get away too far. Look at them, their partners aren't here. Don't waste your energy, let them do that instead. When they're finally in despair, we catch them together." Said Siduramon. "I want to see their face when they know I've tricked them."
"Hahahahaha! I started to like you, just in case. Go!" Zudomon still orders them to follow the tamers, but they move slowly. "Any plan for these two? I let you decide on this, you already brought us what really important anyway."
After struggling for a moment, Gaogamon bites Siduramon's wing and breaks free. He growled at the deva. "How dare you.." Without caring about the enemies that still around him, Gaogamon leaps towards Sinduramon. But easily smacked down to the ground. Strangely, he sees the deva wink at him. Then he glances at those Digimons, they didn't seem to notice that. "W-Wait! We can talk this first.."
Sinduramon chuckles when he sees Gaogamon play along. On the part where their bodies touched, there is some kind of distortion in Gaogamon's data. Then it trickles down into Sinduramon and converted into electricity by the golden pestle on his back. For all of them who're watching, they see it as Siduramon absorbing Gaogamon's data for his own, so none of them question the deva and even mock the blue dog. After a minute or two, Gaogamon forced to de-digivolve into Gaomon.
Now Sinduramon's size is a bit bigger than Zudomon after absorbing Gaomon's data. "Heheheh, thanks for the meal~" He turns to Yamaki, then puts the man under his body alongside Gaomon, making everyone else confused. "Geez, all of you are just that stupid eh~?"
"Púyaváha!"
A wave of electricity comes out of Sinduramon's golden pestle and hits everything around him. Half of the forces there are ahead of Sinduramon, making him the center of them. It zaps everything except the two below him. Yamaki and Gaomon looking at each other with a smile on their face, this was his plan all along.
One by one, those Digimons are deleted. Most Digimons that are unable to stand their ground are Commandramons and Ikkakumons, but some Zudomons still put up resistance. There are two problems that Siduramon faced, his attack needs to be powerful and cover a very wide area at the same time. He's forced to use a lot of energy and his body shrinks in the process. When it's done, his body is the same height as Yamaki.
Not all of them are deleted, there are two Zudomons left and something worse is coming. Sinduramon sees reinforcements coming towards them. The second team seemed to run because of his attack. "What are you waiting for!? RUN!" He yelled to Yamaki and Gaomon. A Zudomon runs towards them and raises his hammer, Yamaki turns around and shoots him with his rifle. Thanks to the electric shock from Sinduramon, the gun somewhat working against the exhausted Zudomon. The other Zudomon catches up to them and swings his hammer, Sinduramon guards them with his armor, but all of them are sent flying away.
Watching them fly and hit the ground, the tamers couldn't bear to just watch it and run to them. Meanwhile, they're still recovering from concussions, except Siduramon, who is unconscious from that attack. Some Commandramons are closing in on their position and start shooting, two of them are aiming at Gaomon who's closer. Yamaki quickly gets up and carries the rookie on his back, some bullets graze his legs yet he keeps running. They hide behind Sinduramon, who is still inside his armor. Some bullets hit the armor and just bounce off.
"T-Thank you.." Both of them panting and Gaomon finally gets his focus back. "You okay?"
"Grazed my legs, I'm fine." Yamaki replied. He tries to peek but a bullet almost hits his head. "Shit, let's just wait them to be closer.."
The two closest Commandramons are approaching from both sides of the armor, as Yamaki expected, and they approach them rather close despite having guns. The moment they see the barrel of those guns, they push them up, both shooting to the air. Gaomon punches Commandramon away while Yamaki tries to snatch the gun from the other one. Commandramon just won't budge so Yamaki punched them in the head. Both of them groan from the punch, it's not enough to knock them down but enough to give Gaomon time to react. The rookie punches Commandramon away then helps Yamaki who stumbled on the ground to get up.
Another Commandramon isn't far from their position, aiming at them, they don't have any time to react but that Commandramon kicked away by a yellow vixen before he could shoot. They see that some of those Commandramons and Ikkakumon were attacked, although not defeated. "You.." Yamaki's arm held by Renamon then carried by her to the tamers along with Gaomon.
All of them quickly help the rookie and the blond man, except Ruki who runs to hug Renamon. "R-Renamon.." The girl almost cried when she hugged her partner, but Renamon break the hug rather quickly. They look at the incoming enemies. "I see.. you still remember how to fight with me, right?" The vixen giggles and nods to her.
"Renamon digivolve to Kyubimon!"
A buzzing sound is heard once again and it's just hard to miss even in this heavy rain thanks to his hearing. After all, his ears are technically big. His eyes darting in the direction of that buzzing sound, yet he just can't see it. Branches, lack of light, and the rain keep obstructing his vision. "It's on our left, you see it?" He asked his purple friend, who's climbed higher on the tree they're on. "Hey, you see it?" He asked again after no response from him, even looking up this time.
Impmon growled. "Shut up. I'm trying my best here." Having a higher position helps a lot, yet in this case, he still has a hard time finding the source of that sound. After a few minutes and more questions from Terriermon, he spots a Digimon. A bee-like Digimon who seems to peeking at Terriermon from afar, then it left after it got whatever it looking for. He jumps down to his side. "Just another Flymon scouting us, saw more of them before you heard this one."
"More of them? Like more Flymon?" Terriermon asked him.
"No, just a bunch of rookie plants." Impmon points out to their front. "Two Palmons and a Floramon, there is another yellow thing I spotted, just barely." Then he turns to the left. "Saw some vines moved, thick.. very thick.." He paused for a bit. "Nothing on the right, but there are some more of them scattered behind, barely saw them."
They fall into silence, both of them trying to think of something to get out of this situation. They keep thinking and thinking, putting the information they just gathered into their minds. Then, they look at each other.
"So, what now?"
"So, what now?"
Annoyed sighs and groans came out of them after they said it at the same time, with the same exact words no less. Impmon looks away from his friend, he doesn't want to admit it but he expects something from Terriermon knowing his tamer is Jian. The blue haired tamer is smarter and calmer than most tamers in his eyes, so he thought Terriermon would learn one or two things. Then again, he can't blame him when facing this kind of situation.
They stare at each other again in silence. The rain starts to calm down, yet both of them know that they don't have any plans in mind. "Screw it, I'll just beat them up and we get out of here." From everything he saw, there is no higher or Digimon with a level on par with his mega form. Terriermon just poked Impmon's back gently with his ear. "Ow! What's the deal now!?"
"Look at yourself, stupid." Impmon looks away, which makes Terriermon sigh. "If only I'm strong like you, we won't even be thrown into this jungle in the first place."
Impmon suddenly chuckled. "Moumantai~ This strong Digimon will get you out of here in no time~" Terriermon slaps his head, which makes Impmon's chuckle grow louder into a laugh.
"I swear.. you really need to throw that at me, huh?" Said Terriermon, he just can't believe that his friend is trying to crack a little joke right now. "Listen, don't get your head too big. I still beat you if I could digivolve as I wish like you." He scoffed.
"Oh really? But you can't, right~?" Replied Impmon with a grin. "Hmm, I'll give you some chance if you could become one with your partner, but I bet he's the one who does the heavy lifting~" He leans closer to Terriermon. "Like, come on, you really want me to believe that you do all things by yourself?"
It's hard to try not to be angry, but Terriermon still trying his best and just pushing Impmon's head away. "Let's just focus on saving our own lives first, okay?" He takes a deep breath, it helps him to be calm again. "We can.. we can just try to go right, you said there is no one there, right?" Impmon nodded, they finally decided where they would go.
Before they could even go down from the tree, they heard something on top of them. "Good, finally agree on something. Now why don't we agree for both of you to come with me?" They look up to see Dokugomon already on the tree they're on, possibly having listened to everything they talked about until now. Terriermon quickly grabs Impmon's arm with his ear and pulls him to jump down. They land on muddy ground in the middle of the rain. More Digimons start revealing themselves. There are Palmons, Floramons, Kunemons, Flymons, and one Blossomon. Most of them are plant-like and bug-like Digimons, which is not surprising when they're in a jungle. "Good grief, let's not make this the hard way, shall we?"
Impmon and Terriermon are about four to five meters apart. They look at their surroundings and find no way out except by fighting them first. "Really? Geez~" To everyone's surprise, Impmon looks relaxed. "Do you overestimate yourself and all of your dumb friends?" They get even more confused, especially Dokugumon. From what the spider can see, this is a checkmate. Still, he won't take Impmon's threat lightly and will focus on him. "Now! Terriermon!"
That catches Dokugumon off guard, all of his eyes quickly turn to the bunny, yet Terriermon shocked himself when Impmon said that. The spider looked back at the imp only to find a fireball midway to his position. There is no time to react but it suddenly disintigrated by a dark beam from the left. That beam pierced and obliterated some trees in its path.
A step coming from the back, a humanoid Digimon whose body consisted of thorny vines walks towards them, sending shivers to those Digimons. This Digimon is tall, wears short pants, a round brown mask, and a shoulderguard. He holds a hatched right hand with a shield tied to his left forearm. "A-Ajatarmon.." Dokugumon gets down from the tree and bows to him. "I-I'm sorry I was careless.."
"Just get out of here, I'll take these two alone. You don't need to bow to me as well, I'm not your superior." With a wave from his hand, all of them leave instantly.
Impmon and Terriermon glanced at each other before nodding. "You really full of yourself, eh?" Said Impmon with a smirk. "But thanks, you made this easier now." He tried to digivolve but failed, his back wounds acting up so suddenly. "U-Ugh..." His vision starts to turn dark, and he can't stop coughing. "R-Run.." Beside him, Terriermon is already unconscious, though he can't even see him clearly.
Ajatarmon walks to them slowly, his vines wrap around them but this one isn't thorny. "What a pity, but don't worry. You'll be fine." Impmon could feel his body lifted gently from the ground, then he passed out from the pain. "You were right on one thing, Impmon. If we meet under different circumstances.. I might've lost."
"Harpoon Vulcan!"
"Dragon Wheel!"
A sharp horn clashed with a blue flame and turned into ashes of data instantly, the flame didn't stop and hit Ikkakumon before he could regrow his horn. The white furred walrus screams in pain as his data disintegrates, he can't even stand a chance with just one attack from Kyubimon. That's the last of those Ikkakumons, but the battle still goes on. An injured Zudomon runs towards her and raises his hammer. It's not that hard to dodge that attack, though Kyubimon takes more distance than she needed just in case Zudomon decides to do a follow-up attack.
Two Commandramons suddenly appear from the right side, already aiming their guns to Kyubimon, the fox doesn't have a chance to react as she still focused on Zudomon. "Kyubimon! Dodge!" Ruki yelled at her. Commandramon's finger almost hit the trigger before they were punched by Gaomon, both of them only knocked down. The blue akita dog continues to pummel them until he's sure that they won't get back into fight anytime soon, then he glances and nods to Ruki.
Meanwhile, Zudomon is at it again and keeps trying to hit Kyubimon. He wanted to freeze her legs, but he's unable to do so. That attack from Siduramon still has some effect on his body. "Dragon Wheel!" Kyubimon used her blue flame once again, it hits the slow Zudomon, yet he doesn't go down that easily.
Both Digimons fall back to the tamers, they're almost out of energy. If only Sinduramon were still able to fight, they would've easily won this. But the deva already gave his all to reduce their numbers at the start, even protecting Yamaki and Gaomon.
"I-It's done.. those Commandramons won't get up anytime soon.." Gaomon falls to his knees, he tries to get up again but unable to do so. "Only Zudomon left, but there is reinforcement coming.." He said, pointing at another more Zudomons and Commandramons that are running to aid their friends.
Juri quickly catches Gaomon when he keeps trying to get up, only to fall on his knees again. "You've done what you can do, that's enough." He tries to push her away, there is still one more enemy before they can run away safely. "Enough, you just going to get deleted this way." Finally, he agreed to back down and even let Juri carry him on her back. The rest of the tamers are protected by some rookie level Digimons who are still able to barely fight.
The last two standing Digimon are staring at each other, they breathe as calmly as they can, trying not to be seen agitated. Ruki is holding a blue card in her hand, ready to digivolve Kyubimon to Taomon in hopes of matching Zudomon's level. Kyubimon noticed that. "Ruki, I just need to go faster. I can't do that right now." Ruki a bit confused for a moment, then looked at her partner again. Bruises are all over Kyubimon's body, by that look, digivolving further seems seemingly impossible. Zudomon already lost in terms of speed, so Kyubimon just wants to take that advantage even further. It's starting to snow even heavier, amplifying that power gap.
Two cards taken out of her deck, 'Speed' and 'Hyperspeed'. Ruki pondered for a few seconds before choosing one. "Digi Modify: Speed" She slashed her card silently. Poof! Kyubimon seemingly vanished in Zudomon's eyes, he could only see the trail of her footsteps. All except Zudomon could see Kyubimon moving to his blind spot and about to strike from his side, the blue flame on her paws starting to blaze even bigger. When Zudomon finally catches up to where Kyubimon went, she leaps in the air, hitting Zudomon's head and causing the ultimate level Digimon to fall.
The walrus is down and immediately gets up, only to be greeted by Kyubimon's 'Dragon Wheel'. He blocks the flame with his arm in the last second and groans, damages already accumulated after he got hit so many times by her flame. When Zudomon almost fell again, Kyubimon's tail lit up.
"Digi Modify: Hyper Chip!" Ruki slashed another card to boost Kyubimon's attack. She could see enemy reinforcements getting even closer and wanted to finish this as fast as possible. "Get him!"
Each of her tail's flames burns brighter, she then waves all of her tails. "Fox Tail Inferno!" The flame thrown by Kyubimon showed ghostly faces before turning into fireballs. It hit Zudomon like a rain of fire. The walrus finally defeated and Kyubimon de-digivolve back to Renamon. Before she walk back to her partner, Renamon absorbs Zudomon's data to heal her own body, though that barely heals her at all.
Renamon turns around and walks to them, she can't hide her happiness when Ruki is waiting for a hug. Sadly, they don't have the luxury to do it for too long. "Ruki, I can barely stand right now."
"Let's get out of here, but what we gonna do with that chicken?"
"Heyy! Ruki!"
A centaur is running with Takato, Ai, Mako, and Shaocung on the back. They quickly recognize this Digimon, after all, Renamon is the one who defeated him in the past as Taomon. "You may rest, get on my back." Ruki and Renamon look at each other before climbing Vajramon's back.
Ruki is a bit surprised, but she can put her trust in this deva now that they aren't enemies. When Vajramon isn't budging at all, Ruki asks him. "Are you trying to fight them to get Sinduramon? If so, why bother asking us to get on you?"
"It's not me who's about to fight them." Vajramon calmly replied to her.
At that moment, a big pink Digimon floats above them. Ai, Mako, and Shaocung jaws dropped. It raises both of its big arms, and visible electricity could be seen around both arms. "Heaven's Judgement" Its voice is sounded so calm before unleashing black clouds and thunderbolts that hit all of those Digimons except Sinduramon. Most of the snow in that area melted from the heat of those thunders, though it doesn't last for long as the snowfall gets even worse. When all of them are safe, that Digimon de-digivolve into Antylamon.
The first thing Antylamon does is hold Shaocung's hands and smile. "N-No way!" The girl jumps into the rabbit deva's embrace, it's just like their first meeting in the digital world. "You can digivolve without me!?" She asked with a lot of excitement. There is a smug feeling in her when Antylamon shows his strength in front of Ai and Mako.
"Just this time, Shaocung." Antylamon looks at the unconscious Sinduramon, then at Vajramon. "I'll get him, let's go back first. It's getting cold out here."
Vajramon nodded back and walked back first. He carried as many tamers as he could while prioritizing Gaomon and Renamon. The snowfall and winds get stronger each second, and most of them start to shiver when they walk. Gaomon, who rests on Vajramon's back, gets a view of their back when he notices something glowing from afar. His scream alerts everyone. "Watch out!"
Without second thought, Gaomon gets up and puts his body as a shield for everyone on Vajramon's back. A knife hit his hand, it pierced his glove, but not long enough to reach his head. It's enough to knock him off and he fall to the thick snow. "Gaomon!" Juri quickly jumps down to help him.
"Get back!" Vajramon puts down the rest of them, ready to block any attack that might come, but only heavy snowfall could be seen. He notices Renamon standing beside him, holding the knife. "Don't, you're not in-"
A flash of red light caught their attention. It shines through the snowfall for a moment before disappearing. Renamon taps Vajramon's leg. "He's not coming, let's go." Renamon said as she walked away towards Ruki. Vajramon still stands still as the rest of them walk away first, he just wanted to make sure something like that wouldn't happen again. When he's finally sure the assailant isn't coming again, Vajramon turns around and joins the pack. It's about time they meet the sovereigns.
Oh, would you look at that. Someone finally reunited, yay.
Okay, I won't tell a lot about plot, that's my summary for this chapter. About the thing from wiki, it's about the attack skill or cards. It's naming again, some english attack names just not good enough as the real jpn names (If you know which one I refer, well, for me that sounds cooler). Which I'm going to mix it with some rules in mind. With the way I'm writing the fight, I hope you still understand what's going on.
One more thing, Shaocung = Suzie and Jianlian = Henry (The other should be clear enough, if not I'll do full character names on next chapter). Yeah, I chose to write with their real name but unable to recall how they call each other. Afaik, calling family name and their own name means different things about their relationship. So, if you know something about it, I open for suggestion.
