Chapter 15: The National Diet
Mikasa woke up in her bed and suddenly got really scared since she no longer felt her okaasan's warm embrace. She got up on the bed and looked around, desperate to find her okaasan.
"M-mama?" She asked timidly.
"I'm in the restroom Mika-Chan." Ai said. "I'm just drying my hair."
Mikasa went into the restroom and hugged Ai's waist while she was in front of the mirror. Mikasa put the hair dryer down and kneeled to Mikasa's level to give her a hug.
"Where's papa?" She asked.
"He had to go to work today. We're going to go to the studio soon so your oneesan can practice for a concert." Ai said.
"Isn't that pointless since we're being attacked?" Mikasa asked.
"Well, I don't think we should stop our lives just because we're in danger." Ai said. "No matter what we do or where we'll go, these bad people will try to hurt us. Which is why, we're going to keep staying happy and stay near our friends and family that can protect us."
Ai knew the dangers they were in, and unfortunately, they couldn't simply go and hide. No matter what they did, they'd be in danger. So, they needed to try and have some semblance of normalcy until Eren can find a way to stop his former enemies. As long as Zeke, Reiner, or Armin was nearby, they would be safe.
"I want Armin-San to protect us." Mikasa said.
"I know." Ai giggled at her daughter's little crush. "But he has his own life too, so we'll need Reiner-San to help protect us as well."
"Come on, let's go downstairs." Ai grabbed her hand and led her downstairs.
In the living room, Zeke was handing out microwavable food to the family since he didn't really do any cooking since he was busy. Eren had already left for his meeting with the director, and Aqua was flipping through channels while Kawachi and Ruby were eating.
Aqua flipped to the news about last night.
"According to reports and videos... the giant monster seen in China has somehow found its way to Tokyo, as well as two other giant monsters." The reporter said.
"Aqua-Chan..." Ai complained.
"It's important." He said.
"During the apparent Kaiju like fight, multiple people were severely injured from falling debris. At this time, there are no confirmed fatalities but at least three people are in critical condition. Many people are protesting outside of Governmental buildings demanding answers. A nation Diet meeting has been called but they are refusing to open doors to the press."
"Many people are speculating that the monsters have died since they decayed and vanished from sight, however many people noted that the roughly fifteen-meter-tall monster had his arm blown off in the Chinese videos and speculate it may be able to heal itself."
"I just... I can't believe I'm reading this." The reporter shook her head. "Sorry. As of now... no one has any idea what's going on. There are no answers or any logical explanations of what happened at the mall. Many people are confused, and social media is exploding with theories and conspiracies about what is going on. Riot police are on standby to quell any panics or potentially violent demonstrations, but the Government is remaining quiet about the affair and have yet to release any time or date for a press conference."
"Until then, citizens are advised to continue as normal and to report anything suspicious... like I suppose if you see a giant naked... right... sorry." She said into her earpiece. "I'm just unsure of what to say about this." She turns from the camera as the feed changes.
"Looks like the media is having a fun time with the existence of Titans." Zeke chuckled.
"Well, it's new for our world." Aqua said. "We've never seen anything like this, even the way they move doesn't make sense for something that size." Aqua said.
"Pound for pound, Titan flesh is less dense than normal flesh, which is a large reason why Titans can move the way they do." Zeke explained.
"Still, to actually see it on video like that is surreal." Ruby said.
Mikasa whined when she heard about them talk about seeing the Titan.
"Don't worry Mika-Chan, we won't let that happen again." Ai tried to reassure her.
"Papa looked scary." She said. "Like... like an oni or something."
"His Titan was always more demonic looking compared to the others." Zeke said. "Though I'd say Pieck's was always the strangest." He said.
Anyway, we should head to the studio." Ai said. "Reiner said he'll meet us there and he'll protect us for now. I'm also taking the kids out of school temporarily so we can all stay together."
"Smart move." Zeke said.
"Anyway, come on everyone. Let's get ready to go." Ai said.
Ai got their stuff and knew she'd have to make a quick trip home since Mikasa didn't have a change of clothes yesterday. She also needed a bath as well. Her school uniform was wrinkled and dirty from yesterday's events and sleeping in it.
Ai went to her car and got ready to leave Zeke's home.
Eren sat down in the outside area of the cafe that was a few miles from Zeke's house. He was dressed in his normal working suit and had his pistol on him in case he was attacked by any Yakuza.
"C-can I g-get you s-something?" Eren looked over to a girl who worked at the cafe.
The girl was young, maybe still in high school and working a part time job for the experience. She had a menu partially hiding her face as she tried not to look Eren in the eyes. Eren only sighed as once again someone recognized who he was and was scared around him.
"Just some tea please." Eren said, trying to make it as quick as possible for the scared girl.
"R-right away." She almost took off running.
Eren shook his head. It honestly was kind of annoying when people treated him with fear or hatred. Japan really was a country that did not forgive easily. Even his years serving the government only gained him the right to be tolerated by the public.
He ignored those thoughts as he went back to his plan. Ai had the family with her at the studio after they left Zeke's house. While it was smart to leave them with Zeke for protection, Eren didn't trust Zeke enough to leave his family with him alone. Not that the alternative would be better, since Reiner would be with his family at the studio.
He wished Armin didn't have a job in Japan so he could watch his family, but Armin did need to continue working since he did need to make money to live. Plus, Armin wanted to put those girls' minds at ease after everything that happened.
Eren looked at his watch, the director would expect him to meet with the Diet soon. Not only that, but the director also wanted to speak with him, no doubt about what happened with the Titan battle at the mall. Eren wondered if the director had suspicions about Eren.
However, Eren needed to do something before he met with the Diet.
"Eren, good to see you again." An unfamiliar Russian accent said.
A Japanese man sat across from him, the man had a buzzed haircut and had Yakuza tattoos on him. He attempted a Russian accent, but Eren was confused as to why. Eren didn't recognize this man at all.
"Can I help you?" Eren asked. There was a slight pause.
"Don't let the face fool you. It's good to see you again." The Yakuza man said.
Eren saw a headphone in the man's ear, and suddenly realized what was going on. It's not the first time he pulled that trick.
"Sergei... what's with the guy?" Eren asked.
"Like it? It's normally how I deal with people I can't trust to meet." The Yakuza guy laughed, trying his best to imitate Sergei over the phone call.
"Can't trust?" Eren asked.
"You're a government agent now, can't risk it. Even if you don't intend to get me arrested, I don't trust your coworkers not to take an opportunity." He said.
"So, you're talking through someone... like you did with Miyuki?" Eren asked.
"Yup." He said. "It's a clever way to avoid meeting directly with people. After all, the Japanese Government has hunted me for thirty years by this point. I need to stay hidden somehow."
"Fair enough." Eren said.
"Though, I am curious why you decided to contact me." "Sergei" said. "After we agreed to part ways permanently, I would think you'd stay away from any criminal affiliation."
"Some things require the need for some help." Eren said.
"Does it have to do with your daughter being attacked?" He asked.
"How do you-"
"I told you I would protect your family, so I've kept tabs on them." Sergei said. "Though my informants have told me that some weird things happened at that mall. I began to think he was crazy."
"Not as crazy as you'd think." Eren said cryptically.
"So, what do you need?" He asked.
"Those Chinese spy's you established, are they still around?" Eren asked.
"Well, they didn't get as much progress as they hoped, but they're still operating, and they have the Kanto Region Yakuza's basically controlled." He said.
"I need them to find someone." Eren said.
"Really, who?" He asked.
"I don't know if he kept his old name, but it's a sixteen-year-old boy." Eren handed the Yakuza man a folder, inside were descriptions of who Galliard was, minus the supernatural aspects.
"I see." Sergei said. "What's his name?"
"It's in the folder." Eren said.

"Right... it's Galliard." Eren remembered he was talking through Sergei's proxy.
"You never change." The Yakuza man imitated a chuckle. "I'll make sure my man delivers it to me."
"Thank you, Sergei." Eren said.
"So, what is this about?" He asked.
"That monster attack on the mall, that was me and Galliard fighting." Eren said.
"What do you mean?" He asked.
"I can transform into that monster Sergei." Eren said.
"NANI!?" The guy yelled.
A bunch of people looked over to their table as the man screamed. Eren shot a glare at the Yakuza for bringing unnecessary attention to them.
"R-right, sorry boss. I w-won't break character again." He said into the headphone.
Eren keeps forgetting there is a person between him and Sergei. Clearly it would be a shock to anyone. Especially someone who only ever heard stories about Eren.
"I... I won't tell anyone what I heard; I promise." He talked into the headphone. "So... a monster huh?"
"Glad to see you're back." Eren gave a deadpanned stare.
"I'll forgive the idiot for making a scene, considering what you said." "Sergei" said. "I did wonder when I saw you do a Spider-Man but didn't really think it was possible."
"I never lied when I said I was from another world Sergei." Eren said.
"And you can turn into a giant naked man?" He asked.
"Yes." Eren said.
"This boy, he can as well?" He asked.
"He was a member of an enemy nation. He was reborn as an infant here." Eren said.
"I see..." The Yakuza pretended to think. "And he's leveraging other Yakuza's outside of Kanto against you."
"Trying to." Eren said. "I won't let him. Especially after what happened with Mikasa."
"I can understand your anger." Sergei said.
"I won't let me family get caught in the crossfire on this, I will not." Eren said with a detirmined expression.
"And that's why you want me to leverage my spy networks to find him." He said.
"Will there be issues with convincing them?" Eren asked.
"The CCP are indebted to you, so they'll have no issues putting aside some help." Sergei said. "I will warn you though, this will be a dangerous game. Nations like Japan hate the CCP and can cost you your job and freedom."
"After what I did to save Ai and Ruby ten years ago, do you really think that concerns me?" Eren asked.
"I guess not." He said. "So, you just need me to find him?"
"I can handle the rest from there. However, he could have help. The information is in the folder." Eren explained.
"I'll do what I can Eren." He said.
"Thank's Sergei." Eren said.
"You know, you look healthier. You look like you put on good weight and don't look hungry anymore." He said.
Eren glanced around. Based on how he said that, Eren wondered if Sergei was nearby. He glanced around but couldn't find him.
"Don't bother looking." He said. "When I don't want to be seen, it's impossible."
"Your arrogance hasn't changed." Eren said with a small chuckle.
"I'm glad you have found a good life kid, I really am. Your children, both yours and the ones you took, all seem like very good kids."
"They are, the best I could ask for." Eren said with a small smile.
"And I'm glad to see single mother, no, that's not right. I'm glad to see your wife feeding you." He said.
"How have you been?" Eren asked.
"In a way, I've retired. I'm getting too old to keep doing things on the ground. Now I just waste away in an office and have people do jobs for me." He chuckled. "Though it does give me more time to visit my favorite girls at the red-light district."
"You couldn't find anyone?" Eren asked.
"I'm in my sixties." He chuckled. "That time has passed for me."
"I need to leave." Eren said.
"I'll also continue keeping an eye on your family, to make sure nothing tries to attack them." He said.
"If it's a Titan, those monsters, aim for the nape of the neck. Otherwise, they'll regenerate." Eren said.
"With what, an AK?" He asked.
"Something bigger." Eren said.
"Right, no problem." He said.
Eren stood up as the woman from earlier brought his tea. Eren told her he was leaving but paid for the tea anyway so as not to waste her time. The girl nervously thanked him and jogged away again, wanting to stay away.
"New way of handling women?" He chuckled.
"Shut up Sergei." Eren said.
The Yakuza guy imitated Sergei's laughter as Eren walked away.
"Senpai, good to see you." Miyuki said as Eren walked in through one of the side entrances of the National Diet Building.
Outside on the front of the building were hundreds of people who were demanding answers from the Government about the "Kaiju" attack on the mall. Dozens of reporters, many who were foreign reporters, were attempting to speak with any Japanese official to try and get information on the event.
While the city itself was calm, the governmental districts were filled with people demanding answers and influencers trying to gain fame through the attack.
"Is the director inside?" Eren asked.
"Yes." Miyuki nodded. "He said he wants to speak with you before you meet with the Diet."
"I figured." Eren said.
"Senpai... what's going on?" Miyuki asked.
"I'm as lost as you are." Eren lied.
"Eren, please don't think I'm an idiot. After you were shot, I know for a fact that there is more going on here. I didn't tell the director about that, but I don't want to have to keep lying on reports." Miyuki said.
Eren wanted to be honest with his friend. Miyuki and Eren did remain friends after Eren was cleared of his charges years ago, and Eren even helped Miyuki to get this job in Naicho. But Eren was still unsure of what he should say.
"I'll explain it after the meeting, I promise." Eren said.
Miyuki just nodded and lead Eren into a waiting room where the director was waiting. The inside was extremely ornate, much of its decorations and construction still maintaining the style of pre-World War Two Japan. Just beyond the double doors in the side was one of the entrances into the main chamber.
"Miyuki, leave us." The director said.
"Understood." Miyuki said and stepped outside.
There was a short pause between the director and Eren. Eren had a feeling that the director knew more than Eren would like. Exactly how much was a concern for Eren since it could potentially threaten his and his family's lives.
"You're that Kaiju that attacked the Chinese border and the mall, aren't you?" The director said.
Eren mentally cursed, it seems he knew a lot more than Eren expected.
"If you're wondering how I knew... well it's odd that the big one showed up exactly where you always were." The director continued.
"I could be hunted." Eren tried to salvage the situation as best he could, though he knew it was pointless.
"I'd believe that, except that I remembered watching the video of your initial interrogation a decade ago." The director said.
Eren winced, completely forgetting about that. Eren spilled the entire truth back then, mostly as a personal promise to himself that he would accept the consequences and no longer lie, even if he knew that no one would believe him.
"At the time, Shinomiya and myself believed you were just trying to plead insanity to try and get out of your charges, but in recent events... these "Titans" probably have some truth to them." The director said.
"Everything is as I said back then." Eren admitted.
Of course, Eren left out any information about the Rumbling and the actual powers of the Founding Titan, mostly because of his own fears of how he would be perceived as a basically war criminal. Eren didn't know how an international court would judge his actions, but he didn't want to risk it.
"The Diet has been informed of everything you said and want to speak with you." The director said.
"For what purpose exactly?" Eren asked.
"Eren, I have a serious question." The director looked him right in the eye.
"What?" Eren asked.
"What are your intentions in this world?" The director asked.
"Is that what they're afraid of?" Eren asked. "That I have some kind of motive to undermine them?"
"People can turn into Titans... into monsters. They... we're afraid of what that could mean for us." The director clarified.
"Creating Titans here would be functionally impossible." Eren said, though he knew it was dubious since him and Zeke knew the rules were different.
"Do you intend to use these abilities against us?" He asked.
"I only want the safety of my family and to live a normal life." Eren said. "I have no interest in getting into global politics or to undermine any nation."
The director nodded.
"The Diet are aware of everything you said in your interrogation a decade ago. They'll have questions and will try to figure out how we'll move forward from here. As well as who exactly we should be concerned about." The director said.
"Is that all?" Eren asked.
"Right now, everything is Japanese only classified. The Diet is debating about whether to involve the international community, but they're going to be pressured. After all, China may demand you to be arrested for what you did on the border." He said.
"Great." Eren said in annoyance.
"For now, they're ready for you and will have questions. I don't know what will happen Eren, but their decision will determine what happens to you." The director said.
"Got it." Eren nodded.
The director led him to the double doors and opened it to let Eren into the main chamber. There was a moment of silence as he did, many politicians were staring at him with a combination of concern, fear, annoyance, and even excitement. They were all in a unique position and no one fully knew what to expect.
There were also armed guards with rocket launchers as well. Eren knew there would never be such massive security normally, but considering his powers, the Government were not taking any risks. They would be prepared to react if they determined Eren as a threat.
Eren went up to one of the center chairs and sat down in front of the Diet. No cameras or reporters were allowed in since this would be a closed doors session. The media only knew an event about the "Kaiju" threat but would not be told specifically what would happen.
"Yeager-San." One of the politicians began.
"Yes?" Eren asked.
"We have gone over the reports by the Cabinet Intelligence and Research Office, and we're quite concerned about the situation we're in." He said.
"I understand." Eren said.
"Is all of the information in your interrogation correct?" He asked.
"Yes." Eren said into the mic.
"We understand that you withheld this information for as long as you did, considering that even when you were honest you were not believed. However, this creates a lot of concerns that we would like to address." He said.
"I will answer them as truthfully as I can." Eren said.
"In your original statements, you said you have held this power since the age of ten." He said.
"That's correct." Eren replied.
"Why did you decide only now to use it during your operation in China?" The politician asked.
"When I first arrived to this world, I was unable to use my powers." Eren explained. "The powers of the Titans are still largely unknown in my world, and although I have theories as to why it did not work, I can not say for sure. If you remember in the Tik Tok videos, I was very confused when I transformed before I had to defend myself from a tank."
"We have seen the videos captured by Chinese citizens." The politician stated. "And you say you were unsure?"
"I believed I lost the powers, especially a few years ago since all those who gain the powers of the Titans die thirteen years later. I should not have lived past twenty-three." Eren explained.
"And you believe that those rules no longer apply?" He asked.
"I cannot say anything for certain." Eren said honestly.
Many of the politicians debated among themselves as there was a slight pause in the questionings. Eren was unable to hear or understand them since they all talked at once.
"Yeager-San." Another politician, a woman maybe in her late thirties, stood up.
"Yes ma'am?" Eren asked.
"Regarding the incident at the mall, we would like to hear your version of events, especially about the other two "Titans" that appeared." She said.
"The smaller one, with the mask, is known as the Jaws Titan." Eren said. "In my world, he was a member of the Warrior unit of Marley, a nation that declared war against us. I do know he is here under the same means as me and is trying to kill me."
"Do you have any reason to believe the Jaws Titan is in communication with your original world?" She asked.
"If he is, it would be pointless." Eren said. "My world has made Titans obsolete, and their technology is comparable to yours around the First World War. Even if they did arrive here, they would neither have the power or the capabilities to threaten this world."
"What reason do you believe that the Jaws Titan attacked you?" She asked.
"Marleyan's are brainwashed that us Eldians' on the island are descended from devils, so there is an ethnic reason for hatred." Eren explained. "When they prepared to invade the island of Paradis, they did so with plans to ethnically cleanse my island of the "Island Devils"." Eren made quotations with his hands.
"Why targe you?" She asked.
"From his perspective, I controlled the Eldian Military and launched a raid on the Marleyan town of Liberio, which was his home town." Eren said. "Civilians were caught in the crossfire and I have no doubt he has a personal hatred towards me."
"From his perspective?" The politician asked.
"Shortly after the Liberio raid, I led a coup against our Military and created my own faction." Eren explained. "For a short time before my death and transportation here, I was functionally the king or dictator of the Eldian Empire."
"Why did you lead a coup?" She asked.
"I had no choice." Eren said. "Our Military was going to make decisions that would eventually kill my friend Historia, the Queen of Eldia, as well as would force me to transfer my power which would have resulted in my death."
Eren did only say half-truths here. He did not want to mention the Rumbling in any way. Eve in his original interrogation he never mentioned the power of the Founder or the existence of the Rumbling.
"Are there others who hunt you?" She asked.
"Potentially, though I don't know. There are the possibilities of the Cart, the Female, and the Warhammer." Eren said.
"What about the massive one?" She asked, referring to the Colossal Titan.
"He is an ally, that is all I will say." Eren said.
"Do you know who has that power?" She asked.
"Yes." Eren nodded.
"Will you tell us?" She asked again.
"No." Eren shook his head.
There was another silence as the politicians spoke among themselves.
"Why will you not tell us?" She asked.
"Because he is no threat, and I will not put my ally at risk. He has nothing to do with any of this and simply wishes to live in peace." Eren said.
"On that topic, what do you intend to do?" She asked.
"I only want to live in peace with my family. I will use these powers to defend myself if I need to, but all I seek is to live a normal and humble life." Eren explained.
"Will you pass these powers on?" She asked.
"The ritual to transferring the power of the Titan often leads to the user's death, it is a complicated thing that I will refuse to elaborate on." Eren said.
"Why?" She asked.
"Because this power will die with me." Eren said.
Eren could tell that the politicians seemed pleased with that answer. They don't want these powers to be wandering around uncontrolled. Eren knew he was lying a bit, since he has no idea how the powers will be passed after his death without Ymir's will. Plus, Riener and Armin were not biologically Eldian anymore, yet they had those powers.
Eren would let the world address that issue after he dies of old age in the next few decades, if he could live that long. That is, if he and Zeke are unable to figure out how to cure the Titan curse with this more modern technology.
"Considering your testimony, we are willing to allow you to continue your investigations with Naicho to deal with the other Titans who have posed a threat to Japan and entered our shores illegally." She said.
"One condition." Eren said.
"Condition?" She asked.
"My family stays out of it." Eren said. "Whatever happens to me, they will remain safe. I understand the concerns you have as well as concerns about my children, but if they are involved in any way, I will do what I have to in order to defend my family."
There was a tense feeling in the Diet Chambers as Eren made his threat. Some of the guards with rocket launchers prepared themselves but they relaxed when they saw that Eren made no sudden moves. He only crossed his arms and had an unyielding stare.
"Yeager-San, your family are all Japanese citizens, and we will not harm them. We do have concerns about the any differences in biology between your people and ours, however we will not arrest or detain Japanese citizens and families in order to learn those things. In fact, as a citizen yourself, we will require your written consent for any tests." She said.
"Which will not be given." Eren said. "As I stated, this power dies with me."
While not idea, it was a sentiment that Eren could tell relaxed the politicians. As curious as they might be, they would rather something like this perish than to in any way negatively impact their country and even their world.
"We do need some tests to be conducted so we can at least defend ourselves from these other Titans if they appear." She said. "If not that, we will require a detailed report from you in the next few days, specifically how to fight them, weaknesses, and unique attributes of all the Titans that could be here. We understand you will not give us the name of your allies, and we will honor that, but you must still give us data on their powers and weaknesses."
"That's a fair deal." Eren nodded, though he did decide to leave the massive explosive power of the Colossal Titan out of the report since he knew they would not like a walking... what did Miyuki call it? A nuke of something?
"We appreciate your time and your cooperation Yeager-San." She said. "For now, we will continue to discuss and vote on our course of action. Until then, you are free to go."
Eren nodded and stood up, prepared to leave.
"However, we must stress that you are not allowed to use these powers under any circumstances." She said.
"If myself or my family is in danger, I will not hesitate to fight back." Eren said.
"That is a direct order from the-"
"I will not follow it." Eren said. "If you decide, that after this is dealt with and my family is safe, that my actions deserve to be put on trial, so be it. But I will not hold back if my family is threatened. I promise you that."
Eren continued to walk out.
He went back in the waiting room where the director and Miyuki were waiting. The director had his arms crossed and had a concerned look on his face, while Miyuki had a look of complete surprise.
"You can turn into a-"
"Monster... yes Miyuki." Eren said.
"I informed Miyuki." The director said. "Not the best way to leave a Diet meeting."
"I don't care, I will not hesitate to defend myself and my family." Eren said.
"Be careful on that sentiment." The director said. "Japan doesn't have a concept of the right to self defense, not like many other nations anyway. And as a government employee, you are expected to follow orders even if those orders get you killed."
"We both know that I will prioritize my family above all else." Eren said.
"I'm aware." The director said. "And I don't blame you, but just be careful what you say."
Eren nodded, though he didn't care much. All he could think about was Mikasa's terrified face and how close to death she was. Eren didn't care what it would cost him, he needed to keep them safe.
"So, what do you think they'll vote on?" Miyuki asked.
"They're leaning towards allowing Eren to work with us to find these Titans. The main vote is whether you'll be allowed to use your powers and who will authorize its use." The director said.
"Just make sure whoever it is isn't short." Eren joked.
"Is that a joke that requires context?" The director asked.
"Yes." Eren nodded.
"Either way, this'll be a tense situation for us to handle." The director said.
"I know." Eren nodded.
"What will I do?" Miyuki asked.
"You'll continue working with Eren probably." He said.
"I feel like I'm not experienced enough for this..." Miyuki said in a concerned tone.
"No one is." The director said. "This'll be new for all of us."
"Not really for me." Eren shrugged.
"We're also going to need you to take a more active role in this investigation as well Eren." The director said.
"How so?" Eren asked.
"These powers and how they're used are unfamiliar to us. We don't know how to deal with it effectively, considering that an F-35 pilot was nearly killed and the plane crashed into a school." He said.
"It did?" Eren asked.
"Luckily, no one was there since it was late, but the government is not happy." He said.
"I'll show it all in the report, but pretty much anything that can pierce armor can pierce any Titan as long as you hit the nape of the neck." Eren said.
"Oddly specific." Miyuki said.
"The nape is where the shifter resides." Eren said.
"So, you're still human while like that?" Miyuki asked.
"It's more like a giant suit." Eren said.
"Like a Gundam?" Miyuki asked.
"I don't know what that is." Eren said, vaguely remembering something called that from one of Mikasa's shows.
"Unfortunately, we can't just have tanks and rocket launcher soldiers patrolling the streets... we'd cause a massive panic." The director said.
"That's in addition to Galliard, the Jaws Titan, leveraging Yakuza groups against me." Eren said.
"Damn." The director crossed his arms.
"No doubt they're being compelled to, like those ones that attacked us." Miyuki said.
"Yup." Eren nodded.
"For now, we'll wait until they come to a decision. Once they do, we'll get started." The director said.
Eren sat down on one of the chairs and leaned back, intending to get some rest.
Sorry for the wait lol, crazy things happened recently lol. Nothing serious, just work.
Now I did debate on generally how I wanted to handle the government finding out about Titans and Eren. I know there's the stereotype of them kidnapping the family and doing experiments or something, but to be honest, I don't think they would in reality. Plus, I think it would be too cliche and boring to do that.
I am generally treating the idea of Titans as similar to chemical weapons or nuclear weapons. The Government doesn't want it as a weapon. It's too dangerous and they would prefer if it just disappeared, especially since something like Titans would be highly unethical to most Nations. I'm sure they'd be concerned, but not willing to make people suffer for it.
Also, if I did go that route, it would completely take the OnK aspect out of the story. This is after all supposed to be Eren protecting the life he built and trying to ensure his family is not only safe but happy too.
But let me know what you guys think lol. Hope it's at least believable lol.
