Mario Kart's 27th Anniversary Special Race: Koopa Prince vs. Koopa King

It's a beautiful day at Baby Park where Bowser and his son Bowser Jr. are enjoying a day of rides and excitement when suddenly, they saw a sign at the course entrance. Bowser looked at it and said, "Hey, son! Check it out!"

Bowser Jr. came to him and said, "Cool! What does the sign say?"

"It says that today marks the 27th anniversary of the Mario Kart series and to commemorate this special occasion, there will be a seven-lap race around Baby Park with no items! Shall we do this?"

Bowser Jr. smiled and said, "With pleasure, dad!"

"All right, then! To the karts!"

And so, Bowser and his son ran to the course for a special Mario Kart race by themselves to honor 27 years of the series.

When they got inside, they saw their very own karts at the starting line; green for Bowser Jr., and orange for Bowser. Bowser Jr. smiled and said, "Well dad, here we are. Twenty-seven years of Mario Kart racing and in just a few seconds, we'll be going seven laps around Baby Park. I can't wait for this moment."

"Me too, son," Bowser replied as they wait for the lights to turn green, "This is going to be an exciting anniversary race and like I said, there will be no items in this one. Just a friendly father-son race on a very special day. Well son, shall we start the race?"

"Yeah. It's time, dad! Let's do it!"

"All right, then! Here we go!"

So Bowser took out his special starting lights from his shell and set it between both Koopas. Then he took out his remote and said, "Let the 27th Anniversary Race... BEGIN!"

With the word shouted, Bowser pressed the green button on the remote to start the light mechanism as both Koopas turned their attention at the lights with the first one shining red. It all comes down to this, the countdown to the race has begun.

Both Koopas revved up their engines, waited for a few moments and then...

It is time.

GO!

With the light turned green, Bowser and his son took off at the same time with a Rocket Start as they traveled all around Baby Park. At last, the 27th Anniversary Race has officially begun.

Bowser and Bowser Jr. are driving all across the oval track as they switch the lead lap after lap.

After six laps, the Final Lap fanfare has been played as they crossed the finish line to signal the most important part... THE FINAL LAP!

Bowser and his son are driving neck and neck during the final lap and when they got to the finish line...

WHOOSH!

The checkered flag has been waved as both Koopas crossed the line at the same time.

The scoreboard looked at the footage and then, it made its decision.

"FINISH! It's a tie!"

Both Koopas smiled at each other as they got out of their karts and Bowser said, "Good race, son. It really was an anniversary race to remember."

"Same to you, dad," Bowser Jr. replied as they shook hands for a tie race, "Shall we say it to the readers at the same time"

"Let's do it!"

"All right, then. On the count of three. One, two, three..."

Then both Koopas smiled and said to the readers at the same time.

"HAPPY 27TH ANNIVERSARY, MARIO KART!"

And so, Bowser and his son enjoyed a great afternoon of racing as they drove off to race once more.
