Boom Boom and Pom Pom's Coin Runners Match

It's a beautiful day at Bowser's Castle where Boom Boom and Pom Pom are having a great time with their Nintendo Switch when suddenly, Boom Boom has an idea. He said, "Pom Pom, do you want to have a Coin Runners game right here at this castle?"

"A real Coin Runners battle? That's an amazing idea," Pom Pom replied with a thumbs up, "But where are we going to compete?"

Boom Boom smiled and said, "We'll battle it out at our special stadium downstairs and guess what, we're going to do it... RIGHT NOW! Come on!"

And so, Boom Boom and Pom Pom ran downstairs as fast as they can for a Coin Runners duel.

When they got there, Boom Boom placed his hand on the door handle and said, "Now then, are you ready to see what's behind this door?"

"Sure," Pom Pom replied.

"All right, then. Here we go!"

So Boom Boom pulled the handle, opened the door and then...

It has been revealed.

"Pom Pom, I present to you... CASTLE BATTLE STADIUM!"

With that, the entire stadium came to life as the crowd cheered very loudly. The stadium is shaped like a huge square and it has statues of Bowser on the corners, Item Boxes scattered throughout the stadium to collect items, ramps for making tricks and to finish, it even has a scoreboard! Pom Pom saw it all and said, "This is amazing! I love this new stadium! Thanks, Boom Boom."

"Glad you liked it, Pom Pom," Boom Boom replied with a smile, "Now then, all we need is a referee and we should be ready to go."

Just then, they heard a voice and said, "Did somebody call for a referee?"

"Bowser!" Boom Boom and Pom Pom said as the Koopa King came in with a friendly smile.

"Hey guys. What brings you here on this beautiful day?"

"We're going to have a Coin Runners match and we need someone to be the referee for our friendly battle," Boom Boom said, "So, would you like to be our referee?"

Bowser looked at the duo and said with a smile, "Sure! I'll do it and after all, a friendly game of Coin Runners is all we need because this year marks Mario Kart Wii's 12th anniversary!"

"Wow! Twelve years of Mario Kart Wii?" Pom Pom asked him.

"That's right, Pom Pom! It has been twelve years since Mario Kart Wii came out and I had a great time racing with Mario and his friends. Well then, are you ready to have some fun collecting coins?"

Boom Boom and Pom Pom looked at each other and said, "Let's do it!"

Bowser agreed with them and said with a smile, "Great! Boom Boom and Pom Pom... PREPARE FOR BATTLE!"

And so, Boom Boom and Pom Pom ran to their karts as the minions cheered for this occasion. They are about to battle each other to commemorate 12 years of Mario Kart Wii with a Coin Runners match.

Bowser took out his microphone from his shell and said, "Ladies and gentlekoopas, welcome to Castle Battle Stadium! We have a real treat for you this afternoon as two of my minions will go head to head in a special Coin Runners match to honor 12 years of Mario Kart Wii. So without further ado, let's bring them out! Ladies and gentlekoopas, please welcome my minions... BOOM BOOM AND POM POM!"

Just then, Boom Boom and Pom Pom came in with their standard karts as the minions cheered for them.

When they got to their positions, Bowser said, "And here they are, folks. Now the rules of the game is pretty simple. Just pick up as many coins as you can within three minutes, and that's it. If you get hit by an item, then you'll lose some of your coins. Whoever has the most coins at the end of the game is the winner. Got it?"

"Got it, Bowser," Boom Boom and Pom Pom replied with a smile.

"All right, then. Good luck to the both of you and remember the most important part about Coin Runners, have fun! Well guys, this is it. Are you ready to gather some coins?"

"Yeah," Boom Boom replied with a smile. Then he said to Pom Pom, "Ready, Pom Pom?"

"Always ready, Boom Boom," Pom Pom replied with a thumbs up.

Then they turned to Bowser and said, "Bowser, we're ready!"

Bowser smiled at them and said, "Very well, then. Can we have three minutes up on the scoreboard, please!"

The scoreboard agreed as the timer is set for three minutes. Then Bowser hopped into his Koopa Clown Car, took out his special signal light and said, "Now it's time to release the coins and get this battle started! Koopa Troopa, would you like to do the honors?"

"You got it, Bowser," Koopa Troopa replied with a smile. Then he pulled the lever and then, the coins came into the stadium right on time.

When everything is all set, Bowser said, "And now, the moment you've all been waiting for is finally here. It is officially time to play Coin Runners! Boom Boom and Pom Pom... ARE YOU READY?"

"Ready, Bowser," Boom Boom and Pom Pom replied at the same time.

"All right, then! Ladies and gentlekoopas, to commemorate twelve years of Mario Kart Wii... LET THE BATTLE BEGIN!"

With the words shouted, Bowser pressed the green button on his special signal to start the light mechanism. The first red light came on as the countdown began.

1...

Everyone held their breath as they await the green light to officially start the battle. Boom Boom and Pom Pom smiled at each other, took one final deep breath and then...

It is time.

GO!

With the light turned green, the crowd erupted in big cheers as Boom Boom and Pom Pom took off at the same time to collect their first coin.

Bowser looked at the battle from his Clown Car and said with a smile, "And we are underway, folks. Boom Boom and Pom Pom have just earned their first coin as we begin this exciting showdown. This is going to be an awesome battle!"

Then he smiled to himself and thought, "Have fun, Boom Boom and Pom Pom."

And with that, the first ever Coin Runners match between two of Bowser's minions has officially begun!

Boom Boom and Pom Pom are having a great time as they collect coins while hitting each other with their items from the Item Boxes; bananas, Green Shells, Bob-ombs. and even Mushrooms. The crowd is really enjoying all of the action as the scoreboard shows 7-7 with two minutes left to play.

Just then, the battle has reached the halfway mark as Bowser said, "We're now halfway through this Coin Runners match and so far, the score is 12 to 12. That means we have a tie game, folks!"

After two minutes of battling, the Final Lap fanfare began to play on the scoreboard as the timer has reached its final minute. Boom Boom and Pom Pom heard that sound as they kept on going.

Thirty seconds later, the timer changed to yellow. Bowser looked at the scoreboard and said, "Only thirty seconds left in this match and so far, Boom Boom is in the lead with a score of 20 to 14. But here comes Pom Pom with a Mushroom to steal three coins, which ties the game at 17! Twenty seconds! Both minions are giving everything they've got, folks! Fifteen seconds! Who will be the winner of this exciting showdown? We're about to find out... RIGHT NOW!"

After all of the excitement, the timer turned red. Everyone is ready for the exciting conclusion to this battle as Bowser saw the flashing timer. Then he decided to finish the match with the final countdown with the crowd joining in. It all comes down to this, the final ten seconds.

"Ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two, one..."

BUZZ!

The final buzzer went off on the scoreboard, signaling the end of the game! Bowser heard that sound and then...

It is official!

"FINISH!"

With the word shouted, the crowd erupted in big cheers as the battle finally came to an end.

Boom Boom and Pom Pom heard Bowser's call as they finished the match with plenty of coins in their karts.

Bowser came to them and said, "Great battle, guys."

"Thanks, Bowser," Boom Boom and Pom Pom replied with a smile.

"Both of you did a great job out there and for that, I congratulate you for an amazing battle. Now before we announce the winner, do you have anything you would like to say?"

"Of course," Boom Boom said, "This battle is awesome and no matter what happens here, we are both winners. Right, Pom Pom?"

"That's right, Boom Boom," Pom Pom replied, "This has been a special day for us and we're so happy that we get to battle each other to honor twelve years of Mario Kart Wii."

"I know, Pom Pom. Even if we win or lose, we're still having a great time. Now let's see those final results, shall we?"

"You got it, Boom Boom."

Then they looked at Bowser and said at the same time, "Bowser, we're ready!"

Bowser smiled and said, "All right! So who has collected the most coins at the end of the game? Well, let's go to the scoreboard and see who it is! Drum roll, please."

With that, the drum roll began all across the stadium as Boom Boom and Pom Pom turned their attention at the giant scoreboard. It all comes down to this, the final results.

Bowser looked at the board and said to the crowd, "Ladies and gentlekoopas, it has been an amazing battle between these two minions. But now, it is time for the final results! The winner of Coin Runners, by one single coin, is..."

Boom Boom and Pom Pom held on to each other as they await the scoreboard's decision. The entire stadium is waiting patiently for the final score as the drum roll continued on. Everyone held their breath, waited for a few moments and then...

BANG!

The winner has been revealed.

"BOOM BOOM!"

With the announcement made by Bowser, the crowd erupted in big cheers as Boom Boom jumped for joy! He has won Coin Runners by just a single coin.

Then Boom Boom came to Pom Pom and decided to share a hug for a great game. Bowser smiled at the crowd and said, "There you have it, folks! Boom Boom is our winner and to make it official, let's go to the scoreboard with the final score! May we see it, please!"

The scoreboard agreed as the screen shows the total number of coins Boom Boom and Pom Pom collected during the match. The final score: 25-24, Boom Boom.

Bowser came to him and said with a hug, "Congratulations, Boom Boom!"

"Thanks, Bowser," Boom Boom replied with a smile, "I am so happy that I won the game by a single coin and for that, I'm truly grateful for this victory. I would also like to dedicate this win to the Mario Kart Wii staff for making this game possible and for that, I salute you."

Pom Pom came to him and said, "Great game, Boom Boom."

"Thanks, Pom Pom," Boom Boom replied with a smile as they shook hands for good sportsmanship, "You know, all of that battling makes me hungry. Come on, let's go to Burger Shroom for some burgers."

"You got it!"

And so, Boom Boom and Pom Pom walked on over to Burger Shroom for a great lunch as the crowd cheered for them. Bowser saw them leave the stadium and said with a smile, "Great game, Boom Boom and Pom Pom. Great game!"
