Toad and Toadette's Nintendo Switch

(A/N: Happy 4th Anniversary, Nintendo Switch)

It's a beautiful afternoon at Peach's Castle where Toad and Toadette are playing Mario Kart 8 Deluxe on the Switch in the Game Room. Toad smiled at her and said, "Well Toadette, it has been four years since the Switch came out and we really enjoyed it."

"We sure do, Toad," Toadette replied with a smile, "Four years of gaming memories and fun times. Now then, let's celebrate this day with a two-player race at Baby Park. Just you and me with no items."

"You got it! One special race, coming up!"

With that, Toad sets up the game and after a few moments of preparations, the race is all set: Toad vs. Toadette at Baby Park with no items at all. Just a friendly two-player race to honor four years of the Switch.

As the race comes up on the screen, Toad said, "Ready to race?"

"You bet," Toadette replied as they turned their attention to the game with their Pro Controllers. As Lakitu comes in with the traffic light, it all comes down to this: the official countdown to the start of the race.

1...

Toad and Toadette held on the button as the engine of their Pipe Frame comes to life. They watched the screen, waited for the light to change and then...

It is time.

GO!

With the light turned green, both karts left the starting grid with a Rocket Start to begin the race. Toad smiled and said, "Now that's a Rocket Start!"

"You said it, Toad," Toadette replied as they raced around the course like an oval.

After six laps, the Final Lap fanfare is heard, signaling the seventh and final lap of the race. Toad and Toadette kept on going as they breezed through the lap and when they got to the finish line...

WHOOSH!

The race came to an end as Lakitu waves the checkered flag with a photo finish.

Toad and Toadette looked at the screen and when the results came in, it revealed the winner and that is... TOAD!

"Yes! I won, I won!" Toad said with a smile.

"Great race," Toadette replied as they shook hands for a great race, "It was really a race to remember. Say, care to go one more round?"

"You're on!"

And so, Toad and Toadette enjoyed a great race as they kept on going with their Switch.
