Battleship Fun with Toad and Toadette
On a nice, summer day at Peach's Castle, Toad and Toadette are enjoying a nice game of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe on the Switch when suddenly, Toad said, "Do you want to play some Battleship?"
"You know it," Toadette replied as the duo came to an empty table.
Toad took out the game and said, "Do you know the rules of the game?"
"Of course we do, Toad," Toadette replied as they set up the game.
Then Toad and Toadette placed five ships on the gameboard without looking at their opponent to make it a fair game and after a few moments of preparations, it is time to do battle. Toad smiled at Toadette and said, "Would you like to do the honors of starting the game?"
"You know it," Toadette agreed with a smile.
"All right, then! On the count of three. One, two, three..."
Both players looked at each other, took a deep breath and then...
The moment has arrived.
"BATTLE!"
And with that, the battle is now officially underway.
Toadette looked at the board and said, "Let's start with A-1!"
"Miss," Toad replied as Toadette placed her white peg on the board.
Toad then took his turn and said, "E-6."
"Sorry, it's a miss." Toadette said as he placed his white peg.
"D-3," came Toadette's next call.
"It's a hit!" Toad said as he placed his red peg while Toadette did the same. Then she took another turn and said, "D-5."
"Another hit."
"D-4."
"Hit!"
"D-6."
"Wow! You sunk my battleship!"
And with that, Toadette scored her first ship sunk in the game, the battleship.
Toad smiled at her and said, "It's still your turn. Pick another target."
"Okay," Toadette replied while looking at the board. Then with a smile, she said, "I-4."
"Missed." Toad said.
Throughout the game Toad and Toadette fought very hard as they kept on playing while sinking ships and just like that, both players are down to their final ship.
Toad looked at the board and decided to call out the next shot.
"B-3."
"It's a hit," Toadette said while placing her red peg on the Destroyer, "Keep going!"
"B-4."
"Another hit!"
Toad looked at the board once more and with a smile, he delivered the winning call.
"B... 2!"
Toadette looked at her board and said, "It's a..."
Toad prayed for himself as he awaits the call from Toadette. The process takes a few moments and then...
She delivered her verdict.
"HIT! Congratulations, Toad! You sunk my Destroyer and won the game!"
Toad has done it. He has won with Toadette clapping for him. Then she said, "That was a great game. Care to go one more round?"
"It's on!"
And so, Toad and Toadette are having a great afternoon while playing a game of Battleship.
