Reginald's 35th Birthday: The Glitz Pit Referee
(A/N: This episode is dedicated to Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door's official release on the Switch and my 35th birthday!)
It's a very special day at the Glitz Pit and everyone is cheering with excitement as Jolene came in with a smile. She said, "Good afternoon, fight fans! Today is a very special day for us here at the Glitz Pit because we're celebrating the game's official Switch release with a special Exhibition Match and a referee!"
The arena is cheering with excitement as the screen shows today's match.
"Now we don't know who the special guest referee is yet, but all we know that today is a very special day for someone. Now, let's meet our fighters! In the blue corner, he is known as the Feral Nuclear Reactor and is the second champion of this stadium. Here's… RAWK HAWK!"
The blue doors open up and Rawk Hawk is ready for battle as the crowd cheered for him.
Jolene pointed to the red doors and said, "And his opponent is the very first champion of this arena... PRINCE MUSH!"
Then the red doors open up and Prince Mush is ready for battle as the crowd cheered.
Jolene smiled at the sight and said, "There they are! Two great champions are about to go head to head in a special battle. And now, let's meet the special guest referee. He is the author of this fanfic and a huge fan of the Mario series. His hobbies include sports, gaming, and reading. Ladies and gentlemen, are you ready to meet him?"
"YEAH!" the crowd replied.
"All right, then. Open the doors and dim the lights!"
The lights dimmed all across the stadium as the red doors open up. Then I came in as the arena grew silent and then...
CLICK!
"SURPRISE! HAPPY BIRTHDAY, REGINALD!"
I was surprised as the entire arena cheered for me with confetti showering over me. It was my 35th birthday and a special match to honor the game's official Nintendo Switch release and the special guest referee is... me!
Jolene came to me and said, "Ladies and gentlemen, your referee for this special match is... REGINALD!"
I jumped for joy as the arena cheered for me once again. Then Jolene smiled and said, "Happy birthday, Reginald."
"Thank you, Jolene," I replied with a smile as I hugged her, "I can't believe that you planned this surprise for me to be a referee on my 35th birthday?"
"That's right. I want to make it extra special because we're celebrating the official release of Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door on the Switch!"
"Cool! I love that game and everyone is enjoying it! Thank you for giving me the gift to celebrate this occasion. I love it! Well Jolene, let's do this special Exhibition Match!"
"Okay! And now, here to start the match is our special guest referee... REGINALD!"
With that, I came to the center of the stage and waiting for me is the gong. I smiled at the fighters and said, "Fighters... ARE YOU READY?"
Rawk Hawk and Prince Mush nodded in agreement as I picked up the hammer, ready to hit the gong on that single word.
"Then without any further ado, it is my grand honor to say those words to commemorate the official release of Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door on the Switch! Ladies and gentlemen… ARE YOU READY?"
The arena erupted in cheers as the fight is about to begin.
"All right, everyone. Here we go! Get ready to..."
All eyes are on me as I await the command as the fighters took their positions. The silence lasts a few moments and then...
It is time.
"BRAAAAWL!"
GONG!
And right on cue, the gong crashed and the match is now underway as I watch Rawk Hawk and Prince Mush battle it out.
Then I turn to the readers and said, "I hope you enjoy playing the game today!"
