After the cheerleaders gave their newly appointed captain, Emilie a round of applause, Audrey gave her a quick hug, to which Emilie happily accepted even though she was still in utter shock at the fact she was the new captain. Afterward, Audrey whispered a few words to her before she broke away from the embrace and left quietly without saying a word to her former cheerleaders. A few of the cheerleaders saw Audrey wiping tears from her cheek as she walked away from the crowd.

Well, that was interesting, to say the least.

As soon as Audrey left, some of the cheerleaders gathered around Emilie and began to bombard her with questions about cheerleading. Feeling a bit overwhelmed, Emilie calmed her enthusiastic cheerleaders down and they slowly backed off from her.

"I know you guys are excited, I know I am too but I feel like today wouldn't be a good day to discuss such practices and routines as I'm newly appointed," Emilie told them. "Hopefully by tomorrow afternoon when everything is calm and my mind is fully leveled and focused, then you can ask me what we're gonna do from here. Alright?"

"Yes, Captain," the cheerleaders replied in unison.

"Goodie!" Emilie chirped and clasped her hands. "Well, I guess this meeting is over. We'll have our first proper tryouts and meeting tomorrow. Until then, you're dismissed."

Once as Emilie dismissed her team, her boyfriend Herkie, the only child of Hercules and Meg came over in his Tourney uniform(it looks as if Tourney practice was over) and wrapped an arm around her shoulder. This made Emilie flinch slightly but giggled when her boyfriend pecked her cheek and pulled her close.

Some of the cheerleaders saw this moment between the couple and they gushed while the others playfully rolled their eyes or stuck out their tongues like Jamilah.

"Congrats on being the new captain," Herkie said, smiling proudly.

Emilie looked up at her boyfriend and was about to ask but then she remembered that Audrey announced boldly about her being the new captain of the cheer team.

"Thanks," Emilie replied, smiling at her boyfriend.

Jamilah saw this and shook her head in amusement before leaving the crowd she waved a few of her friends goodbye and made her way over to the bleachers but not before she was approached by Jordan, the daughter of Genie, and Shelley, the daughter of Snow White and Florian.

Jamilah raised a brow at the two girls. "Oh, hey Jordan, and hi Shelley."

Shelley gave a small wave. "Hi."

"Hey, so I just saw Audrey not too long ago leaving the cheering crowd. What's up with her?" Jordan asked. "I tried asking but she wasn't in the mood."

Jamilah narrowed her brown eyes at the genie girl suspiciously. Where Jordan was going with this? She wondered.

"Well, she gave up her role as cheer captain and passed on the mantle to Emilie," Jamilah replied and paused briefly, hesitant to say the next part. "And she's taking a break as she wanted to de-stress herself."

"Oh my!" Shelley gasped. "So sudden?"

Jamilah simply nodded.

"Oh, poor thing…"

Jordan furrowed her brows. "Huh, that's weird. She was fine this morning. Lemme guess this has something to do with her breakup with Ben weeks ago, right?"

It took a few moments for Jamilah to answer. "Yeah…and where are you going with this, Jordan?" It felt as if she knew the answer.

"Well," Jordan began as she slowly circled Jamilah and gesticulated her hands. "My subscribers are very curious about the Ben x Mal x Audrey drama and I need to update them on the latest news," she stopped circling her cousin and stood beside Snow's daughter, who was giving her a look.

Jamilah gaped, but at the same time, she wasn't too surprised. This was Jordan she was dealing with; the school's biggest drama blogger.

"Jordan, Jordan," the Agrabah princess lowered her head slightly for a second and looked straight into Jordan's sapphire blue eyes. "I love you, but please for the love of Agrabah, do not do this."

"Why?"

"You said that Audrey wasn't in the mood to respond to you, and that signifies that she doesn't want to talk about it," Jamilah told her cousin. "She doesn't want any more drama and stress at the moment."

" So how am I going to tell my lovely subscribers about the hottest drama in Auradon City and potentially Auradon as a whole?" Jordan sounds as if she wants to whine.

Jamilah planted her hands on her hips and gave her friend a disapproving look. "I dunno, just don't do it or else I'll spill your secret on the school's blog." Jamilah had a mischievous glint twinkling in her brown eyes.

As Jordan heard Jamilah's warning, she felt her heart drop to the bottom of her gut as she stared at her cousin in horror. Meanwhile, Shelley looked dazed.

"Wh-what secret?" Jordan stuttered and her hands trembled slightly.

Jamilah smirked. "Aziz told me that the other day that you had a major crush on Shang." She clicked her tongue.

Jordan's eyes widened in shock while Shelley gasped. "Why that little- I told him to keep it a secret!" She hissed.

"You had a crush on Shang?" Shelley asked incredulously. "That's very rare of you."

If Shelley was honest with herself, she did have a tiny crush on Lonnie's older brother at one point, but never told anyone about it as she thought it would be embarrassing.

Jordan ignored Shelley's question as she focused her attention on her cousin.

"Look," Jordan began, sounding stern, although deep down she was panicky. "Do not post it on the school blog. Y'know everyone in this school loves gossip."

"Then don't do a video on Audrey's drama," Jamilah replied simply with a shrug. "If you don't want drama surrounding you crushing on one of the hottest guys in school."

Jordan but her bottom lip before pursing her lips in a firm line. This was a tricky one as she wanted to update her viewers and subscribers on the drama between Ben, Mal, and Audrey but she didn't to be blackmailed by her cousin.

After what seemed like forever of careful, reluctant thinking, Jordan gave in as she groaned and heaved a sigh. "Okay, okay. I won't do the video on the new drama. Just don't post on the school's blog about me having a massive crush on Shang."

"Deal," Jamilah shook her hand with Jordan's. "Just tell your subscribers that you don't know what's going on because I'm sure Ben would be uncomfortable and so does Mal."

Jordan sighed again. "I guess you're right," she pouted.

"I know I am," Jamilah smirked. "Instead of going into relationship drama, why don't the both of you get into cheerleading?"

Shelley's sky-blue eyes lit up. "Oooh, I've always wanted to join cheer, but I'm too nervous."

Jamilah gave the young dark-haired girl a reassuring smile. "No need to be nervous, Shell. You can join by tomorrow and show Captain Emilie what you got."

"Really?" There was a hopeful look in Shelley's sky-blue eyes.

"Really."

"Thank you so much, Jamie!" Shelley beamed.

Jamilah returned the gesture and averted her eyes away from Shelley to Jordan. "Jor? How about you?"

It took a moment for Jordan to respond. "Ugh fine," she groaned. "I'll join cheer since I don't see any other extracurricular activities to join or catch my eye."

"Sweet!" Jamilah chirped happily. "I'll you tomorrow then." The long-haired girl then prepared herself to leave.

"Aye, I guess," Jordan slightly shrugged.

"Bye, Jamilah!" Shelley said in her sweet, high-pitched voice as she waved the Agrabah princess goodbye before Jordan took her hand.

"Bye," Jamilah smiled and waved back as she turned on her heels and left from the field to the bleachers to sit.

As soon as Jamilah took her seat, she fixed her cheer skirt before she looked up and saw some of the Tourney boys chatting amongst one another, meanwhile, some were hanging out with their girlfriends such as Aziz and Nina, Herkie and Emilie, etc, and a few were talking to Coach Jenkins, possibly talking about or giving tips for practice.

Jamilah pursed her lips in a firm line as she felt some weird knots in her stomach. Was it jealousy? Was it pain? Jamilah doesn't know. All she knew was she felt weird seeing happy couples on the Tourney field.

The young princess placed her elbow on her knee and rested her cheek on her palm as she continued to watch her schoolmates from a distance for a few moments until there was a large shadow cast over her.

"Hey, Jamie," the voice greeted.

"Huh?" Jamilah snapped from her gaze from watching her schoolmates and looked up at the person who was calling her.

Jay.

Jamilah fixed her brown eyes on Jay and another boy who she was unfamiliar with as the boy was shorter than Jay and had naturally short, curly black and white hair not to mention that he was holding Dude the dog closer to his chest.

"Oh," Jamilah blinked. "Hey Jay and who's this guy? No offense."

The boy smiled. "None taken."

Jay chuckled as he ruffled the boy's hair and the boy laughed softly in the process. "This lil pup here is Carlos. You might see him around but didn't pick up."

Jamilah leaned forward and studied the shorter boy's features closely and her eyes widened in realization.

"Oooh," Jamilah mouthed. "Weren't you that same guy that ran away from Dude the other day?"

Carlos chuckled nervously as he used his free hand to rub the back of his head.

"Yeah….I was afraid of dogs thanks to my mom, Cruella."

"…oh," that's all Jamilah could say as her heart crushed at the fact that a mother could do something like this to her child.

"Yeah. So you must be Jamilah?" Carlos asked. "Jay's told me some things about you."

Jamilah playfully rolled her eyes at Jay. "Yup, I'm Jamilah. I wouldn't be surprised by what Jay has told you about me."

Carlos chuckled softly as Jay smirked.

"Anyways," Jamie began. "So your mom instilled fear in you about dogs?"

Carlos nodded. "Yeah. Since I was very little."

Jamilah stared at the boy sadly. She couldn't imagine what Carlos had gone through with that woman.

"I'm so sorry to hear," Jamilah said, sounding genuine. "I'm assuming that you're getting better now, like how you're in Auradon, right?"

Carlos nodded eagerly. "Definitely."

"I'm glad to hear."

Jay darted his eyes between Jamilah and Carlos and couldn't help but smile. "It seems like the two of you are getting along."

Jamilah hummed. "Oh yeah. Carlos looks like a cutie."

Carlos flushed at the Agrabah princess calling him a 'cutie'.

"Erm, thanks," Carlos stuttered, a pink blush dusting his freckled cheeks.

Jamilah grinned at him.

Jay on the other hand smirked and ruffled Carlos's hair again. "You heard that lil pup? A girl calls you 'cutie', you cutie pie," he teased as Carlos gave him a disgusted look.

"Ew, don't call me that," the smaller boy said as he took Jay's hand out of his hair and fixed his messy hair. "Only girls should call me that."

Jay pouted at Carlos and Jamilah laughed.

Just then, a voice was calling Jay out in the distance, cutting off Jamilah's laughter.

"Jay! Come over here!" The voice boomed loudly.

It was the voice of Coach Jenkins and Jay sighed softly, but he had no doubt that he was happy especially when he was the new star player.

"I guess that's my cue," Jay told his friends as he turned to leave.

"Good luck," Jamilah chuckled. "Knowing Coach Jenkins, he's going to give you long lectures on teamwork, being a leader, yadda, yadda.." she flipped her hand back and forth.

"Not to mention that Coach's fond of you," Carlos added and Jamilah nodded in agreement.

Jay just smiled at his friends. "Thanks, guys, and I'll be back in a moment if Coach doesn't drown me with his speech," and with that, Jay ran over to the Tourney coach.

As soon as Jay left, Jamilah glanced up at Carlos and said, "What are you standing there? Sit. I won't bite," she then patted an empty spot on her left.

"Oh," Carlos blushed as he went to take a seat beside Jamilah on the bleachers and let Dude sit on his lap. Jamilah then turned to him.

"What do you think of Auradon Prep so far?" The girl asked, curiosity thick in her voice as she blinked.

Carlos thought for a moment as he was trying to come up with an interesting answer, but failed. There's so much to like about this high school and it would be unfair to him to choose one.

After a couple of moments, Carlos took a deep breath, shook his shoulders, and his lips curled upwards. "I dunno, to be honest. I liked everything about this school."

"That's good to hear," Jamilah smiled at him. "What do you like or see an interest in?"

Carlos scratched the back of his head, while his other hand was combing through Dude's frizzy, golden-brown fur as he hummed softly. "Well, I like the video games, the lab rooms, good food, and having a nice bed. I've never slept on any remotely good bed when I was living on the Isle, let alone having any good food. Just garbage."

Jamilah gasped and stared at Carlos in horror. She knew that the Isle was terrible but garbage dumped on the Isle? This one was completely unheard of, not even her parents were aware of this.

It took Jamilah a moment to digest what Carlos told her before she could manage to ask this, "So..so…you slept on the cold floor?" She felt her throat begin to itch and her almond-shaped eyes widened.

Carlos went pale and nodded slowly, still raking his fingers through Dude's fur. "Yeah. Honestly, I don't want wanna talk about my life on the Isle, especially to people I'm not familiar with like you for example. No offense."

Jamilah shook her head. "Oh no! I completely understand that. Though, anytime you feel distressed about or having terrible nightmares about the Isle, I'm always here to talk to," she told him. "Or better yet, speak to the guidance counselor first, that way you can feel more at ease."

The black and white-haired boy smiled at the young princess. He thought that Jamilah was genuinely caring towards him and that she reminded him of Jay in some ways.

"Thanks. I'll keep that in mind."

"Sure thing."

Silence permeated through the air between Carlos and Jamilah as they absentmindedly scanned the Tourney field, watching their schoolmates conversing with one another while the others were hanging out.

As Jamilah was looking around, if she was honest, it was completely mundane, she caught a glimpse of someone staring right back at her from a distance.

Chad.

The moment she glimpsed Chad staring right at her, Jamilah felt her stomach churn. 'Ugh, why Chad's staring at me?' Jamilah thought in disgust.

Jamilah had been avoiding Chad ever since she saw him openly cheating on her with Stacy by making out with her in his dorm after treating Jamilah poorly for the last several months. The Agrabah princess knew very well that ever since their break up, Chad wanted to talk to her but she had no interest because one: Chad was going to make some excuse to get her back, and two: seeing Chad makes her mental health decline further than how it was.

To make matters worse, as soon as Chad saw Jamilah sitting on the bleachers, he slowly made his way over to her.

As soon as Jamilah saw her ex-boyfriend making his way over to her, she immediately felt her heart race rapidly and her palms began to sweat. She doesn't want Chad over here to listen to his lousy excuse. So, the Agrabah princess quickly got up from her seat, fixed herself, and stepped down from the bleachers and Carlos noticed with a slight frown.

"Hey, where are you going?" Carlos asked.

Jamilah turned to face her new friend and replied, "Uh, I'm heading to my locker. What's up? Are you expecting me to stay?" She raised her eyebrows.

Carlos shrugged. "Yeah. I was thinking of you, me and Jay might get a bite at the cafeteria and hang out a bit."

Jamilah's shoulders slumped. "Oh. Uh…lemme get go to my locker first to check on some stuff."

Jamilah didn't want to tell Carlos about how she and Chad broke up since she barely knew him, just like how he didn't want to tell her how Cruella abused him on the Isle. So it's a fair game.

Carlos hummed. "Oh, alright then. So I guess I'll see you later then?"

Jamilah gave the smaller boy a small smile. "Sure! If Jay comes back in time and asks for me, just tell him that I'm at my locker."

"Gotcha, and nice meeting you Jamilah."

"The feeling's mutual, Carlos," Jamilah said as she waved Carlos goodbye and left quickly before Chad came.

Carlos watched Jamilah walking away quickly as if she was attending to something very urgent. He huffed softly as he didn't know that her ex was coming over.

Jamilah could feel Chad's hazel eyes peering into her back and she was uncomfortable instantly. She knew from the get-go that Chad was pissed off that she left before he comes. Good, he should stay away from her.

Meanwhile, over at the Tourney field, Jay was listening to some tips that Coach Jenkins was giving him when he looked over the coach's shoulder and saw Jamilah entering school. He frowned.

'What's going on with her?' Jay thought with concern.

Coach Jenkins noticed how Jay wasn't paying attention to him, so he asked, "Are you alright, Son? You seemed to be lost?"

Jay snapped back to reality and focused on the older man in front of him. "Uh yeah, it's just that I was concerned for a friend of mine who just entered school."

Coach Jenkins arched a brow at Jay. "Oh? Well then, I guess we will have to continue this conversation tomorrow after practice. So see you tomorrow, Son."

Jay grinned. "Tomorrow, Coach," and with that, Coach Jenkins watched Jay jog and went inside the school building, while Carlos, who was at the bleachers gesticulated when he saw that his best friend didn't check on him.

…..

Once Jamilah arrived at her locker, she leaned against it, slumped slightly, and let out a huge sigh of relief. 'That was close,' she thought. Jamilah doesn't know why Chad thought it was a good idea to talk to her about their broken relationship in public, especially when there's someone like Jordan was there.

Sighing again, Jamilah straightened her posture and turned around to open her locker when she felt someone's presence behind her. She froze, hoping that it wasn't her ex-boyfriend.

"Jamie."

Jamilah's shoulders fell as heaved a sigh of relief, realizing it was Jay. She then whirled around and stared at her friend.

"Sup?" Jay asked. "I saw you walking quickly towards the school building while I was having a conversation with Coach Jenkins. It like looks you're walking away from someone."

Jamilah breathed. "Yeah. I was walking away as fast as possible from Chad."

Jay rolled his eyes. Of course, Jay had figured out the reason Jamilah left so suddenly it was because Chad wanted to see her.

"Why did he want to see you?"

Jamilah shook her shoulders. "Most likely to talk to me about our dead relationship."

"That's why you walked away?" Jay raised a brow. "You don't want nothing to do with him?"

Jamilah nodded as she shifted slightly to ease the pressure from her legs. "Bingo. That and I want to stay away from him."

"Do you want me to greet Chad with my fist?" Jay asked as he began to clench his fists until his knuckles turned white.

Jamilah shook her head quickly. "You don't have to do that. I don't want to get you into trouble. As simple as this school is, it's super strict about fights."

"But I don't want to see you get hurt," Jay tried to reason.

'Jay's so sweet,' Jamilah thought with a lopsided smile gracing her lips.

"I know that and I appreciate it very much, Jay. I just don't want you to get into hot water and then dumped back on the Isle."

Jay stared at the Agrabah girl with wide eyes and gaped. He didn't know that Auradon Prep was that strict about their policies in terms of fights.

Jamilah saw Jay's shocked expression on his countenance and continued. "I know, I found it hard to believe too but I don't make the rules here. But the closest thing I can tell you is that you can warn Chad but not fight him as at the end of the day, he's a prince and he gonna have the upper hand."

Jay looked at Jamilah longingly as he digested everything thing that she explained to him and reluctantly unclenched his fists.

"I understand where you're coming from but it's Chad we're talking about," Jay said as he folded his arms across his chest. "This is the same douchebag who had dated like 11 girls including you."

"Jay, I know that. Like I said, just don't pick a fight with him," Jamilah pleaded. "I don't want my mental health to decline even further because of you and Chad in a fight."

Jay sighed and bit his lip. It was no use as Jamilah was going to tell him the same thing.

"Anyways," Jamilah started, changing the subject. "Are you busy this weekend?"

Jay frowned as he turned his head slightly. "No? Why did you ask?"

"Well," Jamilah merely twirled. "This weekend my brothers and I are going home over the weekend and I was wondering if you have any plans?"

Jay pursed his lips and thought hard for a moment. What do I have to do for this weekend? He wondered.

Jamilah stared at him and realized that he had no idea what he was going to do over the weekend. So, she suggested, "Since you can't decide, I'm inviting you to come stay with us at the palace. Mom and Dad don't mind at all."

"You sure?" The older boy asked. "I'm from the Isle."

Jamilah gave him a look. "And Dad was a street rat."

Jay flushed. "Right."

"Like I said, my parents don't mind at all. I'm gonna call my Dad to check on him and Mom and tell them that I'm inviting you," Jamilah took her phone out skirt pocket and called her father in front of Jay.

"Hey, Dad…"

Jay just gazed at his friend as she turned away from him and continued to talk to her father over the phone. To be frank, he was excited about Jamilah's parents and the palace as it was his dream to go there and experience the life and culture there in Agrabah but at the same time, he was still bummed at the fact he couldn't put Chad in his place. Hopefully, in the future, Jay is going to have a one-on-one with Chad, if he crosses the line and no one could not stop him.
