She was infused with an illithid tadpole which can transform anyone into a mind flayer, a person's most feared and worst nightmare. Bloodletting is a remedy that is hardly possible to estimate too highly. Or that's what they say. Siobhan has enough darkness in her past that maybe a little bloodletting is called for. Unbeknownst to her, Astarion is more than happy to oblige.

Her hand gripped the red dagger as it was pressed to Gortash's neck. She looked right into his eyes and for some reason she felt tears fall down her cheeks. His eyes stared back at hers…and it felt like her she was swimming in a black void where it was just the two of them. Her hand trembled and she bit her lip so hard that blood trickled down her chin. (Just a little fun with an idea I had, I haven't done Fanfiction in a long while - but Baldurs Gate really had me inspired.) A story of Astarion meeting Wren (Tav) before they were abducted and infected with parasites. Wren becomes one of Astarion's targets for his master, what kind of bond will they have before their journey begins to save Baldurs Gate?

Chasing perfection is not only impractical but mostly unattainable. Instead of boosting our achievements, it shrinks them. Why? Because when we aim too high, "failure" becomes the norm, chipping away at our self-confidence bit by bit. But then again, maybe perfection is overrated. (Astarion/Tav)
