CHAPTER 24: CLOSING THE CASE...
Days turned into weeks and weeks into months, before long the case had turned cold.
They continued to search for the woman as they worked on other cases until one day...
OPS...
1230 HOURS...
"Call just came in a Navy Seal tied to the bed, drugged and strangled." Eric told everyone as they gathered in OPs.
"Same MO as the Marine from a few months ago..." Callen said. "Yes, but this time she took his credit cards and money." Eric said.
"Did she used his cards?" Kensi asked with her hand on her stomach and hoping they were close to catching the woman.
"As a matter of fact she did and I have sent the information to your phones." Eric said.
"Okay, let's go!" Callen said as him, Jimmy, Sam and Marty left and Kensi watched wanting to go with them, hating the fact she couldn't.
"Why did she wait murder again? Why wait so long?" Kensi asked no one in paticular.
VENICE BOARDWALK...
Callen, Sam, Marty and Jimmy spreadout along the boardwalk with a flyer of the woman who had now killed twice.
"I see her on the beach." Marty said through the comm to Sam, Callen and Jimmy giving his location.
"Let me go or I'll..." The women began still struggling.
"You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in the court of law. You have the right to an attorney. If you cannot affornd one, one will be appointed to you. Do you understand your rights?" Marty asked as the others caught up to him.
"Yeah, I do. Now let me go!" The woman yelled as people stopped to watch.
THE BOATHOUSE...
1400 HOURS...
Kensi, Marty, Jimmy, Callen, Sam and Nate who had shown up stood looking at the screen watching the woman in the interrogation room.
"Let Kensi go talk to her." Nate suggested. "Why? What if she tries to hurt, Kensi?" Marty asked.
"I'll be all right, Marty. I can tell she's obviously pregnant maybe I can get her to open up to me and you can be right outside the door if I need any help." Kensi told him. "I still don't like it." Marty said. "Marty, she's killed two men and we have to find out why. So we can stop her." Kensi told him as she headed for the interrogation room.
THE INTERROGATION ROOM..
"Hi, I'm Kensi. What's your name?" Kensi asked the women was seemed to be in her late 20's to early 30's.
"What do you care? I was relaxing on the beach when that cop slapped the cuffs on me." The woman replied. "Well, I want to talk about that." Kensi told her. "I don't know anything." The woman yelled.
"How far along are you? Do you want some water or something to eat?" Kensi asked.
"No, what I want is to go home!" The woman yelled and it was a good thing she was cuffed. "Where is home?" Kensi asked. "None of you fucking bussiness bitch! Why are you sticking your fat ass nose in someone else's bussiness?" The woman asked Kensi.
"Because you killed a US Marine and A Navy seal, so it's my job. Those men didn't deserve to die." Kensi said as she left the interrogation room.
"How far along are you?" The woman asked at last, seeming to calm down. "Four and a half month. How did you know I was pregnant?" Kensi asked. "Why else would they send a female cop in here?" The woman asked with a smile.
"Because sometimes it's easier to talk to another woman. What's your name?" Kensi asked her again. "Megan Cole." Megan said and Kensi looked at her in shock. "Do you by chance have a brother?" Kensi asked.
"Yes, Mr. Perfect. James Fredrick Cole." Megan told her with a sick smile and Kensi felt her lunch coming up, racing out of the interrogation room.
OUTSIDE THE INTERROGATION ROOM...
"Are you okay?" Marty asked after Kensi closed the door. "I'm fine, Marty." Kensi replied though she didn't look fine.
"I don't think you are, Princess. You're white as a sheet." Marty told her. "I said I'm fine." Kensi stated again as they joined Callen, Sam, Jimmy and Nate.
"Why did you send, Kensi in there? That deranged woman could have hurt Kensi and put stress on her." Marty said glaring at Nate. "For the third time...I said I'm fine, Deeks!" Kensi yelled.
"Because she would not open up to a man as well as a woman who is also pregnant." Nate told Marty. "You thought Kensi would form a bond with the woman and have an easier time getting a confession.
