A/N: I feel like this story is coming to an end. Probably another four or five chapters, give or take. I'm not entirely invested in this show anymore, but many of you have been with me throughout this journey. This story and another story called "My Truth to You" will be my last stories in this fandom until further notice. I appreciate every one of you. Happy reading!

Previously on Destruction. . .

Both European officials left the office, satisfied with the answers they wanted. They had their special weapon and several more recordings from their interviews with the students who aided them yesterday.

As soon as Marinette was released from the hospital, they were going to work with her and a couple of her classmates to take this girl down.

A couple of days had passed and Mrs. Rossi had called out of work claiming she needed to spend some time with her daughter. After the grueling session with those European officials, she couldn't get rid of a pulling feeling in her stomach.

But can I ask you something? Don't you feel guilty for those students who took their own lives?

Of course, she felt guilty. She couldn't forget the students who took their own lives. Those faces of Lila's friends were ones she couldn't forget. There was one in particular she couldn't forget about. And that person was Nebula Blackmire. She remembered how much Nebula smiled. How Lila seemed so happy to be friends with someone like her. Yet, when she heard that Nebula was suddenly bullying her daughter, she didn't see her in the same light. The same went for the other students Lila befriended every time she'd move because being around students who took their lives wasn't going to be something she allowed her daughter to be around.

This started with Musa. Then another girl who she forgot the name of. Nebula was the third one. She started to question her daughter when it became number four, five, and six. She never thought her daughter was the issue.

If these officials had something on her daughter, a part of her wanted to get rid of the evidence and scream at them how this was all made up and the other knew they were right.

I'm sure you have nightmares.

She did have nightmares. Those who took their lives showed up in solid forms with their faces scribbled out in black marker. Mrs. Rossi had seen this before. From the pictures her daughter had. Scribbled in a black Sharpie.

Perhaps her victims haunt you.

Her victims? Her daughter's victims were always screaming in her ears. So, she took some mental health medications to prevent those hallucinations.

For these past couple of days, she had been crying her eyes out. For these past couple of days, she had been accepting that her daughter was a monster. She could no longer protect her. She never could. All this time, she had been running away from the consequences, hoping Lila wouldn't have to face them.

For years, she had been lying to everyone that she held an important role in the French embassy.

You're merely a receptionist.

Damn, those words hurt.

Mrs. Rossi was waiting for the day her daughter would be arrested for her crimes. She knew she was going to sit in court and hear every horrible thing she had done. For now, she simply told Lila she was going to spend some time with her.

Certain interactions seem strained, but she brushed it off as her daughter not being used to having her around as much.

Yesterday, she had asked her daughter about the school being closed down for months. She remembered Lila appearing a little startled by the question and she had replied quickly.

"Oh yes. Ladybug and Chat Noir finally got their act together and took down those akumas."

Mrs. Rossi really wanted to believe her. She really wanted to leave it at her daughter's words, but she couldn't. She took out her phone and looked at the Ladyblog. There hadn't really been anything. Yet, each video she looked at was of the heroes taking down each akuma with ease. It hurt to see that her daughter felt the need to lie. She wondered what else had she been lying about.

Was she lying about her boyfriend, Adrien Agreste? She never saw him around. She could have asked, but she didn't want to invade Lila's privacy. Mrs. Rossi respected her daughter. At least she thought being away from her so they could live comfortably was the right thing to do. She looked down at her lap. What the Hell was she going to do?

~~~{{ Character Perspective Change }}~~~
Detective Crow was the one who went off to Collège Françoise Dupont to ask a handful of students to help him and his partner take down this sly fox. While his partner would have done this part of the plan, he had urged her to go meet up with Marinette and her parents. He could take care of this. Crow intentionally avoided the likes of Lila or Alya. He didn't want anything to do with them.
Nathaniel was one of the handfuls. There was also Adrien and Chloe.
Adrien had suggested another by the name of Luka. The blond said he'd contact the guy as soon as possible. After all, Luka cared about Marinette's well-being. And while he wasn't directly impacted by the horrible deeds Lila had done, he shared a deep hatred like some others had.
Crow asked a few other students if they wanted in such as Max and Nino and some of the girls, however, most of them declined out of fear. The detective validated their fears. He wasn't going to push them to testify against her or compile evidence if they didn't feel comfortable enough to. Yet, if they felt like they were on the court date when it was set, they were more than welcome to.
Max agreed.
Nino disagreed.
Kim disagreed.
Chloe brought up another person who may want to help and when Blackmire and himself were questioning students, she wasn't there because she didn't attend the school.
Just like whoever this Luka fellow was, this Kagami girl was going to be more than happy to help as well.
Detective Crow was delighted by the number of students who wanted to help out. He knew Blackmire would be happy about this too.
What he and Blackmire were doing was outside of the normal procedures of following protocol. When following protocol, nothing could be done. They weren't under watchful eyes too much. So, they decided to do something different. Like, gathering a few students who were aware of what this Lila girl was doing. Doing nothing and not speaking up was no longer an option.
Crow gathered them into another empty classroom after their school day had finished for the day.
According to Chloe, Lila and Alya were nowhere nearby. It seems they had gone home for the day.
And if necessary, Chloe had handed Crow the key to the classroom. Only they could get in with the lock being from the inside. If either of them tried to get in, any one of them would hear it.
These teenagers slowly started spilling into the empty classroom. It started with Chloe and then Adrien. Then Nathaniel, Max, and the two unfamiliar teenagers Crow hadn't met yet, but they were mentioned.
A blue-haired guitarist and a girl who looked like she could be Marinette's sister.
Detective Crow didn't start this right away. Instead, he let them converse for a bit.
"Hey Luka, is Marinette alright?" Adrien asked Luka.
"Yes. She got out yesterday. Her parents and I made sure she got home safe."
There was a flash of jealousy that appeared in the blond's eyes briefly. He sort of stayed silent after Luka had said that.
"Glad to see you could make it." Chloe smiled at the girl who looked like she could be Marinette's sister.
"I wouldn't miss this for anything else." Crow assumed this was Kagami.
He watched her take a seat at one of the desks. This was followed by the other handful of teenagers. As soon as they were settled, he took the opportunity to begin.
"Hello, everyone. All of you have been either directly or indirectly involved with a girl named Lila Rossi. She is a horrific girl who has done many heinous crimes. There was one main reason as to why we could never arrest her. What we believed in the past was that she had something called diplomatic immunity. Diplomatic immunity supposedly protected Lila from getting arrested for the longest time. However, my partner and I have found she doesn't have it anymore since her mother is a receptionist in the France embassy. After she moved schools for the sixth or seventh time, Lila's mother lost it and was demoted. I'm sure you're all wondering why aren't we arresting her now. We have plenty of evidence. Yet, we haven't taken her down. My partner and I would like to ask you who are in this room to help us gather some information about her activities and catch her in her lies. How does that sound?"
The teenagers in the classroom all agreed on those plans. However, Adrien and Max looked a bit uncomfortable. Though, they wanted in because they wanted to help.
Max slowly raised his hand.
"No need to raise your hand, Max. Go ahead and speak." Crow's voice was filled with kindness.
"Markov kept something that was deleted from the Ladyblog after it was posted."
"Markov?" he questioned. He wasn't sure what Max was referring to. But the moment a little flying robot flew out of the teen's bag, he found himself in shock. "How astounding. What do you have Markov?" He thought Max was extremely talented. And he wondered why a guy like this was in a school that didn't really achieve excellence and only enforced bullying on the wrong individuals.
"I have saved a video in my internal files. It is disturbing. Are you sure you wish to proceed?"
"If it'll help this case, then absolutely." Crow assumed he needed to pull down the projector screen and did so. He sat on the side and allowed the little robot to do what he needed to do.
Markov lit up slightly. As the little robot went through his internal files, he clicked on the video. "This contains footage taken off of the Ladyblog. Viewer discretion is advised."
What showed up on the projector screen began with heavy breathing and the noticeable shaking coming from the person recording. Due to to whispering of the person in the video, it was hard to tell if they were male or female or other. "You want to topple one of the heroes of Paris? But what about Chat Noir?"
Adrien tensed when he heard that someone wanted to harm his partner. He clenched his fists slightly.
"Who cares? No one's going to see us." This other voice was coming from someone they knew. She wasn't whispering and this showed she didn't care. "I just want Ladybug to know that there's nothing special about her."
"She purifies the akumas. I don't see how she's the bad guy here."
"Have you forgotten what I told you? She has humiliated me multiple times. As if an apology will get her out of those hurtful moments. Not everyone loves her. I hate her. I want to see her rot. Do you get what I mean?"
The blond knew Lila didn't like Ladybug, but he didn't think she hated her this much. He continued watching.
Luka gripped the seat.
Chloe seethed in rage.
Kagami seemed calm about all of this, but deep down, she wanted to tear this person apart.
"I guess, but I'm afraid of getting caught. I know I you one, Lila, but I can't bring myself to do something as horrible as what you're planning." the camera directed the view to the superheroine who sat on the edge of a rooftop alone. There was no Chat Noir in sight.
"You know it sickens me when I have to repeat myself. I mean you could back out of it, but I have connections unlike you. If I get caught, you're coming down with me. Remember what I have on you. Those nudes you sent to me when I was thirteen? Sure it was an accident. You could plea all you want. Beg me to stop even. Let me hear you beg me to stop."
After that, the view started shaking violently. The person holding the camera got closer and closer until the person recording dropped their device. The view stared up at the dusk-looking sky. A pair of big hands that were wearing black gloves had shoved Ladybug off the roof.
What ended the video were Ladybug's startled cries.
The screen went dark after that.
"I've never seen this on the Ladyblog. Where did you get it from?" Chloe asked.
"I... it was up on the Ladyblog for a very short time. I'm pretty sure Alya deleted the video as soon as the comments started. I only saw a few."
Adrien sat in silence. Someone pushed his Ladybug off of a roof? What kind of fucking bullshit was that? He clenched his fists more.
"Aren't Ladybug and Chat Noir superheroes?" Crow already knew the answer.
Luka replied. "They are."
"Then this video will come in handy to show proof that she is also a terrorist. Keep this video, please." Detective Crow requested.
Max nodded. He gestured for Markov to come back to him.
"Marinette's attempted suicide wasn't Lila's first rodeo. Several other victims have taken their own lives. I've already contacted those who have been impacted before she came here. It's been all the same trick and story. What does everyone know about so we can start catching her in her own lies?"
Chloe was the first to begin. "She claims to know some celebrities here in Paris and worldwide. Alya keeps bugging her to let her meet them, but that clever little fox keeps covering her tracks. Marinette has some connections to the celebrities here. She's so humble, it's sickening."
The rest of the teens in the room glared at Chloe.
"It's not the same as Lila. Lila brags constantly for attention. That's more sickening. Calling out Lila's lies was too much work. Why would I want to do that? Anyways, Marinette never bragged. If I were to ask Jagged Stone or Clara Nightingale about Marinette, they'd have many good words to say about her. Unlike, Lila, whom they've never met, they'd be clueless. Adrien and I can get Jagged and Clara to testify if you need."
Crow had heard of those two celebrities before. They always seemed to be the talk around the younger folks. "Good plans." He brought his attention to Max. "What about you? Aside from keeping that video, what do you plan on doing?"
Max pushed his glasses back onto his face with his right middle and ring finger. "I can record some interactions I have with her the next time I have to tutor her."
"Are you sure you'd want to risk yourself like that?" He heard how shaky Max's voice was when he brought up his idea. Maybe he should have left it while keeping the video. "If it is, then-"
"It's fine. She needs to be brought down. I'll be fine."
Detective Crow wanted to applaud him for his bravery and at the same time, he wanted to keep this child, no teenager away from this girl. "I'll be here for you if it becomes too much. In this same classroom if you need to talk, alright."
"Thanks." Max smiled.
"I am not sure how I can assist this case." Kagami began.
Adrien took a deep breath. "I know how you can. You could come with me when I talk to my father. I need to tell him something so he can press charges against Lila."
Press charges? Kagami was just like Adrien in most ways. She had been sheltered like him. And her gut feeling was telling her something bad had happened to him. "I can do that."
"Thanks, Kagami." the blond attempted to smile, but that went away quickly. There was just too much on his mind.
The short-haired bluenette noted how his bright smile faded quickly. She didn't say anything to him after that.
And lastly, there was Luka. He was in deep thought while the others had planned what they were going to do. There wasn't much he could do. "I'll be present for Marinette. She needs the support. I can gather some other classmates to help her. I'm not sure if the others will listen to me."
"They will," Crow said confidently. "I assume you have a sister."
He nodded. "How did you know?"
"My partner and I interviewed her a few days ago."
The blue-haired guitarist remembered how she came home with her face tear-stained. He had tried to get her to talk about what was bothering her that day, but she didn't say anything to him. "What did say to her?"
"She didn't say anything to us."
The response he was given made him think some more. He knew his sister better than anyone. She didn't do well under pressure and that was hard enough as it was. He could talk to Rose and see if she could get an answer out of his sister. Yet, still, he was going to be there for Marinette. He stood up from where he sat. "What are we waiting for? Let's take a bitch down."
The others cheered excitedly. They got up as well and left.
Luka left along with them.
As for Crow, he left shortly after.
