Hey guys, its me. My pen name is Charlie and I have just started writing stories. Here is the second chapter for His Justice. I will be uploading once every 3-4 days and maybe I will occasionally give out early updates. I plan on completing this book and if I receive a good response, I will put out part 2.
CHAPTER 2
ARRIVAL
The Sandaime Hokage, Sarutobi Hiruzen, was not having a good day.
Its been a week since the destruction of the feared Uzumaki clan, the people who were feared for their longevity, monstrous chakra reserves, and deadly efficiency in sealing were all killed.
Hiruzen himself mourned for the loss of the clan, declaring the day as a holiday in Konoha. Uzumaki Mito was like an aunt to him, and the death of her clan felt like the a part of her legacy had simply vanished from the face of earth.
When Kushina learnt of this, she was so devastated that the poor girl wasn't even able to speak, with the constant bullying in school and now the loss of her clan was becoming too much for the girl, so the Hokage excused her from attending the academy for a couple days, giving her time to cope.
Well, the only good thing that came out of it was that each and every Uzumaki secrets and their wealth was sealed away in Uzu and the whole island is currently inaccessible to outsiders.
However, it was also a blessing in disguise as 3 villages lost their Kages on the same day, granted they had named their successors who were capable in their own right, it was a major blow to their strength.
The 3 villages had sent 25000 shinobi against the 5000 resident Uzumakis.
AND NOT A SINGLE ONE OF THEM LIVED.
But still, the rumors that the extermination of Uzumaki was the first step for a war against Konoha were indeed concerning and troubling, that's why Hiruzen has recalled almost every ninja and his spies were constantly at work.
He was broken out of his musings when a knock sounded in the room.
"Enter" Hiruzen barked.
"Hokage-sama, a boy wants to meet you. He says its extremely urgent. The boy seems to be an outsider too."
"Very well, let him in."
—X—X—X—
Naruto has been travelling through the land of fire for 2 days now, he has been travelling at a leisurely pace during the day, stopping in between to train his abilities.
'These eyes sure are interesting, currently I can only manipulate gravity to attract or repel my targets, but I've a feeling that I have not even scratched the surface of the potential of these eyes yet.'
He subtly caressed the scroll in his pocket, recalling the fact that he, a nine year old child, currently held the bodies of 4 kages, he could easily become rich overnight but he knew he could inflict more pain on the rival villages if he somehow used the body of their protectors to do it. 'No, scratch that, these filth are no protectors, they are greedy bastards and I WILL REPAY THEM TENFOLD.'
Naruto could feel himself sinking into darkness the more he thought about the destruction of his home, he could feel the deep appreciation his eyes would show to these thoughts by giving him glimpses of his power and the revenge he sought to achieve. But deep inside his heart, he knew that his first priority will always be to ensure the safety of his fellow clan members, but revenge was a close second.
Naruto knew he also had the responsibility to bury his mother and his kage, he will make sure to return to Uzu once everything has settled down.
His line of though ended as he finally reached a town. He stopped to take in the scenery the town presented, there seemed to be a festival going on as children were happily running around, making merry and playing games. The people all seemed in a jolly mood, as they were moving from one stall to another, playing games or trying delicacies. Naruto knew that the sight of his bloody clothes would cause a ruckus in the town and he didn't want that. So he henged into some clothes and made his way to the village.
—X—X—X—
Expensive…
The festival was, in one word expensive, and he needed money. Currently he only had 1000 ryo on him but that wasn't enough. And he was surely not gonna put himself up for adoption, nobody can take Shiroi ka-chan's place. So, he needed money…
A lot of money.
He was wandering across the town when he came across a street with drunk men accompanied by women wearing skimpy clothing. He promptly blushed at the sight of that, which only intensified when one of the women sent him a flirty look.
'Focus, I need to earn money!' After wandering for some time, he finally reached the place he was looking for. Standing in front of a two-story building with festival lights and big bold letters saying 'YOKUBO GAMBLING STATION'.
He knew it probably was not the wisest choice to gamble, but he surely was not going to work for it, and Shiroi ka-chan said that the Uzumakis were indeed gifted in gambling.
'Oh to hell with it…' he thought and entered the building, making sure to henge himself into a grown man. The stench of alcohol leading him to his destination.
Next morning, there was one more rich guy in the world and one less gambling den in the Land of Fire. Enough said, a specific Uzumaki girl was going to be spoiled rotten very soon.
'Oh, Lady Luck sure loves us Uzumaki', were the thoughts of a now rich red head.
Naruto would have left the town that afternoon, but he wanted to enjoy the festival as it reminded him of the annual Uzumaki festival, a lot. So, he couldn't bring himself to miss such an event and decided to stay.
Night soon arrived as Naruto dressed himself in a light blue yukata and dark colored pants. Each sporting an Uzumaki symbol, he had a clan to represent after all.
That night, Naruto enjoyed the festival to the fullest. He tried 9 different ramen flavors, each one better than the last. He played almost all of the games there and had a great time.
The only thing that bothered him were the whispers surrounding him wherever he went, along with people pointing at him and sending him looks of pity. 'I don't need their pity, damnit! Soon, it will be Kumo or Iwa they will be pitying, I'll make sure of it!' He darkly thought as his rinnegan flared for a moment.
Inside, he was starting to feel guilty as his family had perished and here he was enjoying his life, but the festival here was so alike to the festival in Uzu that he can just imagine their hair being red and cut out the whispers and voila, he was in Uzushio.
—X—X—X—
After a while, Naruto was walking alone on the riverside, the cool wind fluttering his newly brought dark blue robe as he enjoyed the weather on the day. He was walking when he heard a weird sound. 'Is someone crying?' he thought and rushed over to the voice. What he saw almost moved him to tears.
A little girl, of around 5 years of age, was sitting alone on the riverbank, crying her heart out. The reason that Naruto almost cried was because this was exactly how he met his ka-chan. So, he decided that just like Shiroi Ka-chan saved him from his loneliness, he will do the same for this girl too.
Naruto sneaked beside her and took a seat, "Hey.."
The girl flinched and promptly crawled backwards, her breath caught in her throat. But she seemed to relax when she saw he was just a child like her, albeit 3-4 years older.
"W-what do you want?" She asked, putting on a brave front.
Gods, this is so alike his own meeting with Shiroi ka-chan, its almost scary, "Why are you here alone? Shouldn't you be enjoying the festival with your parents?" he asked her.
All her bravery seemed to shatter as she replied in a weak voice, "I-i don't know where my parents are, I was supposed to meet them at the festival, but I couldn't find them."
She had long black hair that went to her back and a cute round face adorned with shining green eyes. She wore an expensive green yukata, that made her seem even smaller.
'Ah, just lost, then. Well, that's better.' "Hey, why don't you come with me and I'll help you to find your parents? Maybe I'll buy you some toys as well.."
The little girl brightened up almost instantly at that, "Really, you are the best, onii-chan".
Naruto instantly froze at being called that, could he really afford to have more family when he just lost one, but the look on her face, she looked so cute, so precious, that he melted instantly.
"Yeah sure, my name in Naruto, Uzumaki Naruto."
"I am Hayuri Kimiko, Naruto onii-chan. One day I will be an awesome ninja who everyone will love and admire." She looked up to Naruto only to see a blank face.
'Its official, I have found my mini-me.'
Naruto gave her a calming smile, washing away the worries of the little girl. He watched amusedly as the Kimiko raised her arms, demanding to be carried. Seeing her amused face, she pouted, "Naruto nii-chan, my legs are hurting, can you please carry me.". She said as she unleashed her puppy dog eyes on him at full power.
It was super effective.
Naruto carried her as he suddenly felt a surge of Chakra nearby, and it was no less amount of it. Fearing for Kimiko's safety, he quickly escaped the area and rejoined the festival. He soon arrived at one of the largest stalls there, which was a toy store where you had to shoot fake kunais to earn rewards.
"What do you want, Kimiko-chan?"
Her eyes brightened at seeing the toys, and seeing a cute fox plushy gave her stars in her eyes, "That one, Naruto nii-chan." she exclaimed in joy.
Naruto eyed the plushy, impressed by her choice, 'God, she is so precious.' He quickly paid for 5 kunais, he had to hit all five at bullseye for the fox.
'Heh, child's play.'
The shopkeepers and other customers had their eyes wide and jaws dropped, 'Who the hell is this kid? Is he one of those prodigies Konoha shits out every 5 years?'
Meanwhile, Kimiko loudly cheered, "YAY! My Naruto nii-chan is awesome". Giving a borderline arrogant smirk, he took the fox and made his way out of the stall.
"Arigatou! Onii-chan, you are the best!"
"Anything for you, Imouto."
Kimiko's face brightened to extreme levels as she latched onto Naruto, who showed no resistance.
Wanting to keep her in a happy mood, Naruto took her to the Ramen stall he went yesterday.
—X—X—X—
'For a cute and harmless little girl, she definitely eats like a monster.' Naruto watched as she devoured her 5th ramen bowl of the day. Well, its good that I'm rich.'
"Musume!" A sound was heard as Naruto turned to see a couple running over to them, both of them with relieved expression on their faces.
"Mommy!" Kimiko shouted as she lunged over to her mother, wrapping her arms around her neck.
"Kimiko-chan, are you alright. We are so sorry, but a super important mission popped up and we had to do it. We tried to inform you but you were nowhere to be found."
The father had coal black eyes and curly black hair, but had a soft expression on his face, while the mother had beautiful green eyes and silky brown hair, and was laughing with her daughter. They wore red and blue yukatas and adorned a Konoha hitai-ate on their foreheads.
'So that explains the chakra flares, it seems like they are of mid-jonin level, but have yet to reach their prime.'
Kimiko then happily explained about meeting Naruto as she showed off her new fox plushy.
The parents then deftly turned to him, impressed that a child so young had managed to handle their hyperactive daughter, and glad that she was safe and sound.
"Naruto-kun, we are in your debt, thank you for treating our daughter. I am her father Hayuri Haru and this is her mother Hayuri Yakumo." He said as he flashed him a polite smile.
"Its fine, she is such a sweet child and I see her as my younger sister already."
"If you don't mind me asking, why are you here alone, where are your parents?"
That part stung Naruto, a lot. Oh how would he have loved to introduce Shiroi ka-chan as his mother. But he steeled himself and replied, "I am an orphan Ms Hayuri."
"O-onii-chan" Kimiko whispered while the parents had a sad expression on their faces, which soon turned to shock as they observed the Uzumaki symbol and took notice of the blood red hair of the boy. 'An Uzumaki! How in the world? It seems this one made it out alive..'
Recognizing their expression and line of thought, Naruto quickly said, "Yes, I am a survivor of the last weeks incident, and judging by your headbands, I assume you are Konoha shinobi."
"Do you think I can take refuge in Konoha?" He suddenly asked, his voice losing all the confidence as he felt exposed and vulnerable for the first time since the invasion.
"Of course Naruto-kun, you are most welcome to stay in Konoha. Our Hokage is deeply saddened by the loss of the Uzumaki that he declared the day as a holiday and decided to get the Uzumaki swirl on all Konoha uniforms."
Naruto felt a feeling of pride and happiness as he felt that the sacrifice of his clan has been recognized at least somewhere.
"Very well, can I accompany you and Kimiko-chan to Konoha then?"
"Yes! Please tou-san, can nii chan travel with us too?" Kimiko asked with her puppy dog eyes.
"It will be a pleasure to have you around Naruto-kun. We will take our leave tomorrow morning."
—X—X—X—
"Very well, let him in."
Sarutobi Hiruzen was waiting in anticipation, an outsider with some urgent business, that's got to be interesting, right? He was hoping for a good distraction from all the paperwork he had been stuck with, but the narrow-eyed look his secretary sent him assured him that he couldn't escape paperwork today.
His breath hitched in his throat as the boy entered his office.
The boy was an Uzumaki.
He almost dropped his pipe when he entered, key word being almost. 'I am the Hokage damnit. I am supposed to be the super cool guy who remains indifferent to all situations. HOW THE HELL DID TOBIRAMA SENSEI MANAGE THAT?'
He had blood red hair that were so silky that even Biwako would be jealous. He seemed to be a little kid of eight to nine years old, but his face was devoid of any baby fat. His robe had an Uzumaki swirl on it and his golden eyes seemed…..empty.
His eyes belonged not to a child but to an adult who had killed and saw others being killed. It slightly unnerved him that a small kid had such a haunted look in his eyes.
As the facts settled in, he realized that this CHILD must have survived the massive bloodbath of Uzushio.
"Greetings, Hokage-sama."
So that's it for today, the next chapter will be out in 3-4 days. In this chapter, I am trying to portray the other side of Naruto that wants peace and happiness. The whole story will be about these clashing sides of Naruto, but which side will win? Keep reading to find out...
