CHAPTER 6

THE INCIDENT

It's been eight months since the destruction of Uzushio, and Naruto was at a ramen stand with Minato and Kushina pondering over what had changed in the world.

After the destruction of Uzushio and the death of 4 kages at the same night, an uproar was caused in the ninja world.

The fact that the destruction of a supposedly minor village had cost the three great shinobi villages 25000 of their shinobi including their kages was a big shocker to the great nations.

But to find out that they had gained NOTHING from the invasion, caused an outrage among them. It was found that the entire island had been sealed and even if someone managed to enter the island, they found NOTHING, no sealing techniques, no forbidden jutsu, no treasure, none of their famed swords, and not even the bodies of their kages..

They then tried the next best thing, to retrieve the bodies of the dead Uzumakis, only to find that all the bodies had apparently been destroyed, probably by the intricate barrier surrounding the island.

And to literally seal the deal, the barrier didn't allow anybody inside, and those who somehow got inside could not come outside, and were seemingly killed by the barrier due to chakra and organic matter absorption. Safe to say, those who didn't enter the barrier were traumatised at the sight of their comrades being eaten away by a barrier.

This apparently became too much of a hit to the ego of the newly minted Sandaime Tushikage, Ohnoki of the twin scales, who declared full on war against Konoha. Kiri and Kumo were supposed to join as per the original plan, but they chickened out. Konoha retaliated and was assisted by its long term allies Taki, while Ohnoki managed to get Ame and Suna on his side. Thus starting the Second Great Shinobi War.

The war had been raging on since then, but things are starting to quiet down due to the massive events which have recently taken place.

Hatake Sakumo, now named as 'The White Fang of the Leaf' alone decimated a huge majority of Suna's forces himself. With his prized chakra saber and near Madara-level mastery of Katon, he eliminated multiple key shinobis of Suna, effectively crippling the Nation, making Suna resign.

Sakumo was now labelled as an S-rank shinobi with an 'Engage with extreme caution' label.

On the other side, Ame was itself in huge trouble. The students of the Third Hokage themselves had dropped down to Ame. Stories tell of how they were surrounded by SEVEN S-rank shinobis from Iwa and Ame on their arrival…..

and how they DESTROYED each one of them.

Rumors tell that Jiraiya, Orochimaru and Tsunade are now directly facing the sole remaining S-rank shinobi of Ame, and one of the strongest shinobi ever born…

Hanzo of the Salamander.

They had already faced in numerous draws and whatever the result may be, it was obvious that Ame had lost. With only one S-rank shinobi, who was currently fighting for his life, it did not seem favourable to Ame.

Also, as far as the rumors go, Iwa is currently facing off Taki and Konoha's prime ANBU unit, the ROOT. And the news of 'The Professor' himself planning to join the frontlines does not seem good for Iwa.

Naruto was internally giddy, he really wanted to see Iwa destroyed. But in the end, he decided that it did not matter. They were probably going to settle for some lame peace treaty, but that gave Naruto the opportunity to kill them all later on.

Naruto's thoughts soon shifted back to the events of the past hour.

Amenotejikara…

This was officially Naruto's new favorite jutsu. Naruto blatantly abused the kawarimi, but it had its limits. With the kawarimi, Naruto could only switch with nearby objects and he had to latch his chakra on the object he was going to substitute with. The more mass the object had, the longer it would take for his chakra to latch on to it, unless the object had chakra of his own. Larger objects would also require higher level of concentration and control.

But Amenotejikara was on a whole different level. He just needed to be aware of his surroundings and voila, he could teleport anything, ranging from people and heavy boulders to even chakra, from his surroundings to wherever he wanted.

But there was one massive flaw with the jutsu, it consumed so much chakra, that Naruto was sure that even a jinchuriki would be exhauted after a performing this technique a dozen times.

Naruto had learned this jutsu just this past hour in a sparring session with Minato and Kushina, where he found himself trapped in between multiple kunais which were about to hit him. The only one he could substitute with was Kushina, but he couldn't put her in his position, so he quickly flared his rinnegan, attempting to manipulate gravity.

That's when the answer came to him, amenotejikara, the rinnegan had flooded his mind with the knowledge and working of the jutsu, and suddenly he found himself on the other end of the training grounds.

Needless to say, a long explanation followed where Naruto told all about his eyes to Minato and Kushina.

Minato instantly identified his eyes as the eyes of the sage, shocking Kushina. Minato was so surprised he had to wait for a few minutes to process the information, after which he promptly thanked Naruto for trusting him and kept on pondering over the possibilities.

'Naruto definitely is not a normal person by any means.'

Kushina meanwhile, couldn't bring herself to speak for a while, after which she glared at Naruto and yelled at him for not trusting her.

Seeing the hurt look on Kushina's face, Naruto's heart broke. So, he quickly explained the real reason why he was withholding this information from them.

"Kushina, you are my beloved sister and my only family, and Minato, you are the closest thing I have to a friend. I wanted to tell you, I really did, but believe me when I say that I had my reasons not to do so."

"What reasons did you have, nii-san? I trust you, a lot. But I want to be the subject of your trust too. It hurts when you do such things." Kushina replied, her voice broken, and tears forming in her eyes.

Naruto regretted not telling them sooner. He pulled Kushina into a hug and kept her in his warm embrace while rubbing circles on her back, this seemed to always calm Kushina down.

After Kushina calmed down, Naruto replied while wiping away Kushina's tears with his thumb, "We are the last members of strong shinobi descent. It is natural that the village will keep eyes on us. Konoha has many skilled shinobi capable of hiding their presence, such that even Minato can't sense them. I do not want to be a weapon that the village will keep under wraps and bring out for war. And if the word got out, than many villages would target me. That is why I was waiting for a good opportunity. I don't think there are any eyes on us at the moment, which is why I could only tell you now."

Kushina nodded, and forgave Naruto, mostly. She needed to be treated to ramen to forgive him fully, to which Naruto happily agreed.

Naruto, Minato and Kushina were currently at a ramen stand where Naruto was treating them to ramen. As expected, Kushina was gulping down bowl after bowl. Even after Naruto had thoroughly taught her table manners, she found a way to inhale her ramen, while following everything Naruto told her.

Seeing the three of them together Naruto began reminiscing about how they had become "The Trio" as their fellow students liked to call them.

It was around eight months ago when Minato joined their training sessions. Kushina at first complained about why the sissy would be training with them, but seeing how fond Naruto was of Minato, she reluctantly agreed.

Over time, Kushina came to accept Minato as a friend, and Minato finally told her the reason why he did not stand up for her. To say, Kushina was both touched that Minato thought of her as a strong kunoichi and also a little annoyed that she was apparently being watched during her confrontations with the bullies.

And so, their adventures began…

They would train every evening and help each other with their weaknesses. Naruto began teaching fuinjutsu to both Minato and Kushina, who both turned out to be prodigies in the Uzumaki art. Minato had already progressed to level 3 while Kushina was currently at level 7.

Naruto also taught Kushina kenjutsu, who took to the art like a fish in the water, her progress in kenjutsu was not as dramatic as fuinjutsu, but it was still noticeably better than expected. Naruto expected her to reach Chunin level by the end of next year.

Kushina began helping Naruto and Minato with their taijutsu. Her taijutsu was almost on par with Naruto's and a bit better than Minato's. But where she truly shined was stamina. She could practice for hours and hours on end. Both Naruto and Minato benefitted from training with a strong opponent continuously, till they fell from exhaustion.

On the other hand, Minato helped Naruto and Kushina with their ninjutsu, having completely developed coils like Naruto and Kushina, Minato was a ninjustu master. He knew a wide range of D-rank ninjutsu along with some C-ranks.

What shocked both Naruto and Kushina was that Minato could already perform the Shunshin no jutsu, which was actually a chunin-level technique. Even Naruto admitted that he couldn't perform the technique as it was beyond his level.

The trio was frequently spotted together at the academy. Kushina, with the help of Minato and Naruto, had managed to rise in the academic section of their studies. The three of them currently held the top ranks in the class, with the first rank being frequently rotated among the trio, and sometimes Fugaku, who seemed to push himself even further, having finally unlocked his chakra.

They soon became the most popular students in the academy, having challenged and defeated their seniors various times.

However, all the attention they recieved proved to backfire soon.

Naruto was running through the forest at his top speed. His Rinnegan activated and radiating pure hatred and malice. He looked ready to kill and his eyes were oozing killing intent so harsh that even the nature was reacting to it. The plants were withering away as birds and animals quickly fleed the area.

Naruto was currently doing what he considered impossible. He was using his rinnegan to control and reduce the gravity around him, thus increasing his speed. Even Minato, who was running with him, had a difficult time keeping up and had to constantly use the shunshin.

Minato was scared, no, he was terrified. Naruto was acting like a seasoned killer, with the killing intent he was emanating. Seeing the hatred in Naruto's eyes, Minato couldn't help but be scared. Scared of what Naruto will do.

The question would be, why are they running like maniacs through the forests outside Konoha?

The answer, Kushina was kidnapped.

When Minato came to him worriedly that Kushina was missing and her chakra signature was slowly travelling further away, Naruto wasted no time in carrying Minato over his shoulder and literally teleporting to the forest. They have been running like that for the past 2 hours, and Minato could tell they were extremely close.

Naruto was enraged, he was blaming himself for it. 'Damnit, I just found my family. How could I lose her so easily. Its all my fault. Whoever has kidnapped Kushina, god show mercy to them cause I definitely WON'T.'

After half an hour, they finally caught up to her.

Minato and Naruto sneakily hid among the trees, masking their chakra to the max. Naruto using his rinnegan and Minato Seikakuna Kanpeki, and what they saw enraged both Minato and Naruto.

Kushina, was bound and gagged, was being led like some cattle, by some KUMO shinobi.

'KUMO! THOSE BASTARDS, as if the invasion was not enough… Th-they will pay damnit, THEY WILL PAY!'

Naruto quickly fell back with Minato and relayed his plan to him.

"Minato, I will tell you the plan. Your job is to strictly follow. I don't care what you think. You WILL follow my lead. Is that clear?" Naruto said, flaring his eyes to show he was dead serious.

'Naruto is not his normal self. Arguing will cause more harm then good.' Following this line of thought Minato nodded.

"Good, I will switch places with Kushina by amenotejikara, I can't take risk of failure by kawarimi. Your job is to throw my sword upwards in the air as soon as you recieve Kushina. After you have her, FALL BACK. Do not engage with those mountain scum, THEY. ARE. MINE. Do you understand?"

Minato frowned, he was not going to abandon his friend and he dare say, his best friend. But the way Naruto was now, he knew that the logical side of him is gone. So he simply agreed. "Alright, but after Kushina is secured, I will be back to make sure you are safe."

"Fine, that is acceptable, but under no circumstances should Kushina's safety be compromised. You understand."

"Hai, don't worry, I swear on my Namikaze name that Kushina will not be harmed."

"Good, lets go."

Kushina had tears in her eyes. Her life had just started improving. Naruto nii-san had saved her from her loneliness and bullying. He fulfilled her every desire and wish, no matter how selfish it may be. He spent most of his time either training or just spending time with her. Oh how she loved it. She couldn't believe that would be taken from her.

From what she had heard, since Kumo couldn't get any Uzumaki corpses, they were gonna use her body for experimentation. That thought terrified her. She just wanted to be the hokage and make her nii-san proud. She did not want to be used for her blood.

And Minato, it turns out he was not a sissy but actually a good person. Moreover, he was her rival in being hokage. She will admit that she wasn't always nice to him in the beginning. But now, she even saw him as a handso…

Her thought was cut off as suddenly she was not with the Kumo ninja but in MINATO'S ARMS! 'EHHH! What the hell 'ttebane'

Minato quickly threw Naruto's sword in the air, and then he fell back and shushed her. He took off her gag and bounds and continued to fall back, both of them staring at each other, oblivious to the sounds of battle behind them.

Kushina whispered, "Minato, you're here".

Minato was transfixed by the sight and suddenly blurted out, "You have really beautiful hair." Realizing what he spoke, he shut up and blushed red.

Kushina, after hearing the comment, became as red as her hair. And then she realized her position and turned even more red, if it was possible.

Her instinct was to scream and get off, but she could not bring herself to do it. It was then she realized that she was staring at Minato from his arms.

'Gosh, he is so handome.'

And then, suddenly it hit her, "W-wait if I am here, then…"

"Naruto is currently taking them on. He is very angry right now. He wants no interference."

Just then, a blood curling scream echoed in the forest. They recoiled in disgust and fear. What scared them even more was that…

..that Naruto had caused the scream.. among Kumo Jonins…

One second, Naruto was on a tree branch. The other second, he was in the middle of the 4 kumo, who were probably Jonin by their chakra. He teleported, switching with Kushina, a kunai in hand, and an enraged expression on his face.

The ninja in front of him was startled, and that moment was all Naruto needed, as a Raiton enhanced kunai embedded itself in his heart. He spit out blood, and took his last breath.

The two jonin in front of him had noticed the commotion and were turning around, while the Jonin behind him quickly lunged at him with his body, intent on subduing him without harming him, being cautious because they wanted a red head alive.

Naruto gave a dark smirk, this was exactly what he wanted, he flared his chakra and used Amenotejikara to switch places with the sword Minato threw, which was currently going in upwards direction.

He reappeared several feet up in the air, but was close enough to hear a satisfying squelch and see his trusty sword piercing the Kumo ninja's heart.

He spotted several kunai and shuriken coming his way and quickly used a kawarimi with a log. He then appeared in front of the ninjas, not a little bit scared, but excited, at the opportunity to kill those mounatin bandits.

The remaining two took notice of the redhead and grinned evilly. "Heh, look at that Gomi, jackpot."

Gomi replied, "You are right Sukamu. Listen brat, you just got a couple lucky hits, that's all. We are jonin, we can kill you ten times over. We don't want to hurt you so quietly turn yourself in. Kumo will have good use of you."

Naruto was barely keeping himself from attacking then and there, but he reminded himself that attacking a jonin head on was foolish. So he quickly found a stone and latched on his chakra with it, prepared for kawarimi. He only had enough chakra for 1 more Amenotejikara, so he won't risk it.

"Yeah, you are right. Perhaps you will be more cooperative than that bi-" He was cut off when Naruto appeared behind him.

He knew he couldn't keep up with them. But he used his new trick to manipulate the gravity around him, making him lighter, and increased the gravity around his opponents, slowing them down.

What followed was the most furious bout of taijutsu Naruto had ever experienced…

He gave a quick jab to the Gomi, and noticed Sukamu rushing from behind. He quickly threw him over his shoulder and gave a harsh kick to his arm. Using the momentum to turn around, he pulled out a metal rod and smacked it in Sukamu's face, the added spin momentum doing no favors to Sukamu.

Gomi rushed in from ahead. He turned around completely, and landed a devastating kick in his face. Quickly dodging Sukamu's haymaker, they engaged in a furious bout of taijutsu, after which Naruto pulled him forward, and kicked his head in.

However Naruto didn't need to defeat them, he had done his task.

Both jonin quickly stood up, both of them not believing they were losing to a mere brat. They were experiencing some difficulty in moving but thought nothing of it.

"You brat! You think you are some big shot. I will fuckin kill you, just like we killed your stupid clan." He said as he began weaving hand signs.

Naruto merely smirked as he held up a single ram seal, and both jonin abruptly stopped.

"Uzumaki paralysis seal, capable of paralyzing even kage level shinobi." He have them an arrogant smirk, which quickly disappeared when one of them dissipated in a burst of lightning.

"Shit! A Raiton Bunshin" Quickly turning around, he saw Gomi heading towards him, with a tanto in hand.

Thinking on his feet, he quickly kawarimi'ed with his katana, which was luckily behind Gomi. Having already latched on his chakra to it, he quickly reappeared behind Gomi and held his right hand up, "Bansho Ten'in".

His katana, which appeared right in front of Gomi, was pulled towards Naruto, who was behind Gomi. The sword pierced him fully and only stopped when it was in Naruto's hands.

Naruto and his katana were now blood red, being covered in blood, giving Naruto a manic look.

Sukamu lost all sense as he started ranting, "Damn you Uzumaki, its always you guys who mess everything up. Why don't you just fucking die with your stupid clan brat."

Naruto was not a guy who took insults to his clan lightly. So he decided, he was going to give the guy the honor of being his test subject for his new jutsu. That jutsu required so much chakra, that he was sure he was going to be exhausted for days. Walking towards Sukamu, he concentrated gravity chakra in his hands, forming a black ball.

"Chibaku Tensei", he said..

..and shoved the ball into Sukamu's stomach.

Sukamu's eyes widened as he gave a silent scream. His insides were…were being ripped apart.

Naruto watched in satisfaction as Sukamu soon IMPLODED, leaving a shower of blood all around. Ahh, bathing in the blood of these mountain bandits, he could get used to this.

That was the scene Hiruzen Sarutobi, along with Hatake Sakumo and Minato and Kushina walked into.

Hatake Sakumo had just returned to Konoha and was meeting with the Sandaime, when they noticed a jonin level spike in chakra. Soon, Hiruzen's ANBU informed him that the famous "trio" was missing. They quickly followed the chakra spike, meeting with Minato and Kushina on the way, who briefed them on the situation.

Both of the S-rank shinobi were worried at the prospect of an academy student fighting 4 Jonins by himself. They quickly arrived at the scene, assuming him to be dead or be using hit and run tactics.

They certainly did not expect to see the 4 jonin dead, with Naruto in the middle, completely bathed in blood and a content smile on his face.

Even Hiruzen was horrified at the sight. Children taking part in such bloodbath was not seen seen since the Warring States Era. But he had to admit, that the boy had far more potential than anyone Konoha has ever nurtured.

Kushina and Minato were utterly terrified to see Naruto like this. They understood that moment what Naruto meant by taking revenge.

They swore to themselves, then and there…

"Naruto/nii-san, I promise, to save you from your darkness."
