A Conqueror Returns

111 AC

Kings landing

The people of Kings Landing gathered on the docks, seeing the strange vessels bearing the banner of House Targaryen, Their prince was finally returning home after years away fighting in Essos; this was confirmed shortly later when the soldiers marched up the street towards the Red Keep and the Dragon Arrax flew over the walls.

Arrax was a lot larger now, not near the same size as Vhagar or Balerion he was somewhere between the Cannibal and the Bronze Fury as he flew around the capital getting used to being back here after so long.

The people cheered seeing the Princes dragon fly around the city they watched the Royal Army march through the streets in organised ranks of 4; there was a gap between every squad of men in these gaps were 8 individuals the man in front bearing the banner of House Targaryen the next was clearly an officer and the 6 behind him carried drums and horns.

To the general population of Kings Landing, it was amazing to see these people in strange armour marching through the city. The nobility, however, saw this as a power play by the Crown prince. The Crown Prince brought an army loyal to the crown to Westeros.

Arrax landed in the grounds of the Red Keep where Dragon Keepers waited to tend to Arrax further away stood General Rhogar and Melisandre as Aegon jumped off his loyal mount,

"Keepers lua zirȳla fed gaomagon daor sylugon naejot dīnagon zirȳla naejot se zaldrīzes ripo." (Keepers Keep him fed do not try to move him to the Dragon Pit)

Aegon told the Keepers before removing his Helm and walking towards his two advisors, "Well let's go see the family shall we." The 3 made there way into the Keep quickly joined by a group of 4 Legionaries, as they made their way to the throne room as staff and guards bowed, many of them happy to see the Crown Prince home.

The throne room went quiet at the sounds of armoured boots marching towards the entrance, Viserys sat on the Throne with barely managing not to fidget as he waited in anticipation of seeing his son again.

Rhaenryra was the exact same. As she stood by her mother and little sister, she was overjoyed at the thought of her brother being home again. She had eagerly waited for every new bulletin of his campaign and kept a copy for everyone.

Aemma smiled as she held her youngest at the look on Rhaenryra's face she felt the same little Visenya was just very curious she had never seen her big brother.

"Presenting his Royal Highness, Prince Aegon of the House Targaryen, Rider of Arrax, Conqueror of the Stepstones and the Disputed lands, Master of the cities of Tyrosh Lys and Myr, Prince of Dragonstone and heir to the Iron Throne. Accompanying the Prince, General Rhogar of the Royal Army and Lady Melisandre of Asshai, Priestess to the Lord of Light."

And just like that there he stood, his silver hair cut short a faint scar going down his left side from just above his eye down to just above his cheek, his armour battle worn with his helm resting in his left arm as was Blackfyre attacked to his left hip.

The 4 Legionaries carried 20 swords each with a wave of his hand the men moved forward passing them to the confused Kingsguard. "Add them to the chair." Aegon told them as his attention was diverted to his father.

Kneeling he spoke, "your grace the Stepstones the disputed lands and the 3 daughters are yours."

Viserys just like with his brother didn't stand on ceremony's he stood from the throne and made his way to his son pulling him into a hug that was years overdue making Aemma smile tears welling in her eyes.

Looking to the court he smiled. "My Lord and Lady's after years abroad, my son Prince Aegon Targaryen has returned to us, to Prince Aegon, The Conqueror Reborn.!"

It didn't take long for music, food, and wine to be brought out. After that, Aemma hugged her son, kissing his cheek. "Welcome home my son I am so proud of you."

Aegon smiled thanking his mother before seeing his new little sister pulling her into his arms making the little girl laugh and squeal as he tickled her.

"Hello little Princess, do you know who I am? He asked his response was a giggle "you my brother Egg" she told him with a smile Rhaenryra smiled at her sister calling Aegon egg as she walked forward gaining her brothers attention.

"Welcome home brother, your victory's are well deserved" she smiled in her head however her crush on her brother only grew. She always had a crush on her brother it was common among the dragon blood of house Targaryen, but seeing him again in the flesh sent her blood singing.

Aemma saw exactly what was happening and nudged Viserys who smiled, they were not the only ones who saw Princess Rhaenys Targaryen wife of Lord Corlys saw this and cursed her husband for his stupidity in leaving after the stepstones.

Aegon and her daughter Laena would be the perfect match; it would ensure her own blood would sit on the Iron Throne that the Great Council had denied her, but her husband's withdrawal from the campaign after the stepstones had severely derailed these plans.

Laena meanwhile saw the calculating looks her mother was giving her cousin Aegon and sighed she didn't like these games she just wanted to be left alone, yes like Rhaenryra, she had a crush on Aegon but unlike her mother knew that unlike everyone else born into nobility Aegon had the right to choose his own wife as the King would never forces his son to marry.

Making her way over to him as he stood with his sister remembering she was one of her cousins lady's in waiting, it would also keep her parents off her back if they saw her talking to Aegon, so putting a smile on her face she walked over to him. "Cousin, she called getting both his and Rhaenryra's attention "its so good to see you home safe and sound."

"Thank you, cousin. Tell me have you bonded with a dragon yet last I heard you would try with Vhagar? That made her smile remembering he attempt at trying to claim Vhagar.

"Sadly not, Vhagar would not except me she meerly sniffed at me and walked away, but I found Silverwing she's a great friend."

That shocked Aegon, if anyone would have claimed Vhagar it would have been Laena, he still congratulated her, however what truly shocked him was there mother had claimed a Dragon, oh yes, she had decided she wished to join her children and husband in the air and claimed the Bronzes Fury as her own.

Across the room Ser Otto watched the interactions of the 3 royals with a calculation guise as did other of the nobility he didn't notice that he was being watched until its too late.

"it will never work you know came the voice of a woman behind him causing him to nearly jump but years of work in the Red Keep had him stopping himself as he turned to see the Red Priestess.

Biting back his clear distain for the foreign heretic of a Priestess he spoke to her. "What will not work My Lady? She grinned at him while motioning to the 3 Royals. "if your daughter marries into the house of the Dragon your line will end in Fire and Blood all of Westeros will be lost, but that matters not the King wishes to see you and the rest of the council with Prince Aegon in the council chamber,".

And with that she left making her way over to Aegon most likely to tell him his father wished to speak to him, Otto made his way towards the council chambers the seed had been planted in his head, what would happen if his daughter married into the royal family.

The Small Council Chambers

The council gathered around the map of the new lands Aegon had conquered as he explained the 3 city's would be ruled by members of the local aristocracy who were loyal to House Targaryen holding the title of Lords.

The disputed lands would be renamed the New Freehold, with its capital City, New Valyria, currently under construction on the coast.

My Prince, the lands that you requested for the new Garrison Forts have been cleared and the camps under construction, however I must ask, with such a large army on permeant deployment both here in the Crownlands and in New Valyria, I must ask how the treasury will bear such an expense." Otto asked after all it was a genuine concern.

"Worry not Lord Hand, there will be no need to do anything drastic as raising taxes." Aegon told him before pointing towards the map, the Stepstones are extremely wealthy Prince Daemon as agreed for an exchange in a reduced Tax to the Crown from tariffs and the mines when they are working at full capability." His hand moved towards the three Daughters.

"Tyrosh Lys and Myr, are very wealthy it makes the Lannister's look poor in comparison, and with Slavery outlawed we have a lot of workers and a more diverse economy, we also arrested those who mistreated their slaves and took their lands and property",

Finaly, he pointed to the lands of the New Freehold.

"These lands are extremely fertile before the doom the Dragon Lords made a lot of money in these lands from farming and mining, scouts and professionals have been dispatched across the land areas that are fertile will be turned into farmland with settlements near them areas with mineral deposits will have mines or quarries constructed."

After a few hours of discussion, it was agreed that the Royal army would not be downsized, (this would prove very smart move centuries later when Robert launched his rebellion against the Dragon Lords as that was a canon event)

Later that night in the Godswood

Laena stood with Rhaenryra and Aegon discussing the current political movements of there family and how best to calm them or manipulate them to there way of thinking the 3 of them could only think of one thing… marriage.

Aegon would officially announce his plan to marry Laena and Rhaenryra and with the firstborn son succeeding him as King when Aegon died no matter who's child it was with there second son being given rulership over the city of New Valyria when it was built.

"What about alicent, Rhaenryra asked her father wants his Blood on the throne if he can't get you, he will try for father or try to convince him to delay our wedding."

Aegon smiled, I Believe she has a crush on a certain lord commander of the city watch who took over after Uncle daemon joined me in the Stepstones."

The three smiled Sir Harwin Strong was perfect for her, the three made there way back to there own chambers via the secret passages to avoid the guards Aegon when he was settled in his room froze at the sound of an unfamiliar voice.

"Greeting Prince Aegon or is it, Harry Potter? "

Aegon summoned Blackfyre to his hand one of the few bits of magic he could do without a wand. "Who are you, speak now or die who you stand."

"This man is no one," that paused Aegon as he lowered his sword slightly "so are you here to kill me"

"You have received the gift one, this one serves the many-faced god but the many-faced god has only one master, I serve the many-faced god by serving you and presenting you with his gifts once again."

Pointing towards his couch he saw 3 items that he didn't think he again in this life The Deathly Hallows.

Turning towards the bowing Faceless man, he nodded. "Have your members keep an eye on my territory in Essos and inform your order. I permit them to build a temple in New Valyria once the city is complete. "

The man smiled "yes master."

Authors Note: so Aegon has a wand and will unlock his almost all his power. He will however use it as a way to benefit his family and not as a weapon of war…well not yet.
