Chapter six:

With everything set up Mello watches as some of the gang members drag an unconscious man over to a set up chair tying him to it securely.

The man is a slightly older looking man with short cut dark brown hair that has a streak of grey like a stripe down the middle of his hair. His skin slightly tan as he looks more like someone who is outside more so than it being his actual skin color. He is slightly nicely dressed with a button up white shirt, a silk black vest, black dress pants, and black shoes. Him actually being here makes the whole thing more of a reality to Mello as if finally it is settling into Mello's head what they are truly doing.

Mello lets out a breath as he mentally prepares himself for what they are going to have to do to this guy. He knows that they have come too far to turn back now. Even so he finds himself steeling his resolve about doing this. He almost swears that there is some sort of ice that settles inside of him somewhere. He welcomes it.

Once the man is all set up the wait for him to awaken begins. He finally awakens and looks around at first in confusion only to quickly realize what is happening as he figures out that he is tied up. He glares at Mello who takes a step forward. "What the fuck is this?" He spits at the blonde who doesn't even flinch from this attitude.

Mello stares at the man before him with a cold icy stare. "You have information that we want. Hansel Cordial." He was briefed by Matt on the information of the man during the set up. So he can be ready the moment that it becomes go time. "And we have our ways of making you talk." He sees the man's eyes narrow even more towards him. He remains in an icy calm stare as he just stares back into the man's eyes. "So." He shows the man a picture of Near that was given to him to focus on him alone. "Where is he?"

The man, Hansel, stares at the picture for a few moments then looks to Mello with amusement. "And why does it matter to you where he is?"

"That is none of your business." Mello hisses lunging forward to grab the man's collar of his shirt yanking him forward with strong hostility. "Now then. You are going to fucking answer what I asked of you!" He almost shoves the picture into the man's face. "Where the fuck is he!?"

"I have no reason to tell you." Hansel snorts at this and is shoved back with him likely falling backwards if only the chair wasn't attached to the ground by some metal pieces.

"You could have the easy way out." Mello points out taking a step back to which two strong the Shadows members crack their knuckles. "Or we could torture the information out of you."

Hansel glances briefly to the two other men a little thoughtfully though still looking smug. "Hm. I still refuse." He looks to Mello who is trying his best to not let his anger get to him. "You think I am a stranger to these kinds of tactics. If you don't know what you're doing then I could just simply be killed faster than you would want in various ways. Most likely from losing too much blood or internal bleeding." He slightly smirks as he stares at Mello. "However if you do know what you are doing then I could be in for a long and really bad time ahead. Even then you cannot guarantee that you will get what you want from me before I eventually die from whatever torture you put me through. From statistics though I find that most don't actually know how to do it right. Leading to there being a higher chance for me to just die from whatever injuries you inflict upon me. I'd rather take those odds than giving you information and risking what the others alongside me might do to me. Now they certainly do know what they are doing."

Mello has to slightly clench his teeth at knowing that the man is truly right in that statement. He quickly manages to settle himself by diving back into the ice that had tried to melt away in his anger. He isn't truly sure where it had come from though he will use it to its fullest potential for this. "True. There are those statistics. You however are not realizing something. For we do actually know what we're doing a lot more than you think. Also." He smirks himself as the man seems a little puzzled by this as if having expected to be punished for his words. "There is more ways to torture someone without hurting them."

"You'd truly waste possible precious days for mental torture?" Hansel snorts and Mello chuckles.

"Heavens no. I doubt we even have time for that in this situation." Mello looks to one of the members who uses a nearby laptop which starts up a projector. He turns to the wall where the projected image is going to appear. "I was thinking of a different type of torture." He watches as the seeming video feed appears even though it is all scripted and fake. He is glad that Matt was able to digitally make it appear that the man's daughter is actually there. "You have a very lovely daughter." He looks over the image of a tied up girl tied to a metal pole with a blindfold on. He heard Matt say that the blindfold is a better tactic than risking a glitch with the eyes as the eyes are the most likely to do that. He slightly turns to the man with a smirk especially as he sees that Hansel's face has fallen. "She looks a lot like you. Except younger and if you were a girl. A true daddy's girl perhaps? Well at least you can say that you know that she is truly yours." His words get a glare from the man. "Aw. What's wrong?" He fully turns around stalking towards the bound man. "I thought you had more 'fuck you' energy in there." He stops right in front of the other.

"Not even my colleagues know she exists. How could you have gotten your hands on her or any information about her?" Hansel demands from Mello who can't help another chuckle as he feels some superiority by having the upper hand now.

"We have our ways. Want to hear her voice?" Mello nods to the man who seems to send a message to someone then a hand comes out grabbing the teen's chin as if giving an order then letting go.

"Daddy!" The girl calls out and Mello thinks that Matt did great in getting the voice to sound realistic yet scared.

"Elizabeth!" Hansel calls out before looking around as if trying to figure out if she is actually here or not. His eyes settle back to the video where the camera seems to move away to show a man with a knife in one hand then a bat on the ground. He starts to look like he's really starting to believe this as the camera seems to go back to the daughter.

"So. Are you going to give us our answers?" Mello demands staring right at Hansel. "Or should we see if you'd be willing to risk the life of your own daughter?"

The man glares with full hatred towards Mello. "You're insane! She's only fourteen!"

"You didn't seem to have any problems with taking a teen boy. Doing who knows what to him while others think that he is dead when he actually isn't. Yet taking a teen girl is somehow insane? We just want the information then the two of you can go on your merry ways." Mello points out and the man glances between Mello and the video of his seemingly panicking daughter. "What will it be? We don't have all day you know." He smirks widely as the man clenches his teeth with rage about the predicament that he has found himself in. "Tick tock. Time is running out. Very quickly might I add. We need an answer."
