Jedi Temple, Nearly 44 years Earlier

Luke groaned as he regained consciousness and sat up. "Where am I?" Luke muttered to himself as he looked around the room. As he did, he heard a buzzing sound coming from his right. A young voice said, "You are in the Jedi Temple on Coruscant. Now, who are you and how did you get into the temple?!"

Luke jumped slightly and turned to face the direction from which the buzzing sound and voice came. He saw a boy with short blonde hair and sapphire blue eyes, pointing a lightsaber at him.

Luke stood up as he did, the light sabre following his movement, and said, "Okay, kid, just relax and put down the light sabre. I'm not going to hurt you."

At this, the blonde boy's face tightened, and his blue eyes narrowed. "Who are you calling kid? We look the same age!" Luke looked at the boy in shock and murmured, "What do you mean we look the same age?" Luke said, "I'm in my twenties; you're no more than 14 at the most."

On hearing this, the boy cocked an eyebrow at him. "Go and see for yourself if you don't believe me," the boy said, pointing to a small refreshment. Then, the boy added, "I was also in my twenties before I woke up here in my room! I'm only 14 years old!"

At this, Luke froze in place and then said, "What?" Turning around to face the boy again, he had a look of confusion and fear in his eyes.

Anakin sighed as the strange boy stopped and turned around, fear in his eyes. What was with this kid? How did he get into the temple without anyone noticing? Anakin wondered to himself.

"What do you mean by your room? Luke asked now, a sense of dread starting to fill him. Who was this boy? Luke wondered.

Anakin rubbed the back of his neck with one hand guilty and said " well this was my room back when I was a Padawan al... Anakin paused in what he was saying as he heard doors hiss open and two voices one of which he had heard in a long time and the other sounded much younger than it should have been.

" Oh kriff " Anakin muttered to himself as he hurriedly walked the short distance to where the strange boy stood frozen in place and stood in front of him. Then he asked, " What's your name?" The other boy hesitated for a moment and said, " It's Luke, Luke Organa." Luke told him hesitantly.

He's hiding something. Anakin thought to himself before saying, "Anakin Skywalker." He didn't notice the other teenager staring at him for a moment as he took in the name.

Suddenly footsteps came towards the room they were in, and Anakin grabbed Luke by the arm, saying, "Someone is coming. We need to hide now!"And he pushed Luke, who was still frozen in the same place, into a closet in the corner of the room and followed him in, shutting the door.

A few seconds later, Anakin and Luke watched a boy with reddish-gold hair about the same age as they entered the room and threw the rucksack he had been carrying on the bed. Then the boy sat down at the desk in the far corner of the room and started to tidy the messy piles of flimsy and data pads on the surface.

Who is that? Luke wondered to himself as he and his father watched the boy from their hiding place in the closet. As he did, he heard his father murmur, "It's my Master, Obi-Wan Kenobi." softly answering his question as if he had actually said something.

That's Ben! As a kid, Luke asked in a whisper, the surprise clear on his face as the teenaged version of his father cocked his head and said, "Ben?!" giving Luke a look of surprise wondering why in the world.

this strange boy would refer to Obi-Wan as Ben and he wondered how in the 7 hells they had ended up in what could only be over 40 years in the past during Obi-Wan's time as Qui-Gon's Padawan but why? , had the Force done this for a reason, and if it had been the Force doing so, why? had it sent him back in time to Obi-Wan's childhood with a strange boy like Luke, Anakin wondered and why did Luke know Obi wan a false name?

A Few Hours Later

Both Anakin and Luke were starting to get cramped and hungry as they waited for young Obi-Wan Kenobi to finish his homework and go to bed so they could leave their hiding place and try to figure out how and why they had been sent so far in time to Obi-Wan's time as a young Padawan.

But so far the Padawan hadn't shown any signs of being ready to go to bed or even sleep. Anakin sighed as Luke shifted uncomfortably and whispered, "How much longer is this going to take? I need to go to the bathroom."

Anakin rolled his eyes and whispered back bitterly, "My master always was a swat and a nerd, so we could be here for a while longer yet." But as he said that, he and Luke heard the sound of a desk chair scrape on the floor and footsteps heading towards the closet where they were hiding, and a far too young voice said, "I know you're there; I can hear you whispering, and I sense your force signatures."

Then Anakin and Luke heard the sound of a light sabre being powered up.
