Fate/Wake Up

Chapter?: Innocent Trap
A red haired teen ran amongst the trees, his golden eyes darting back and forth searching for a sign of anything or anyone that could be in the area with him. Doing his best to ignore to pain that originated from his left arm, said appendage hanging at his side as blood oozed from an open wound located on his wrist.

Not minutes ago Emiya Shirou along with Tohsaka Rin had been in front of the school that they attended, the dark haired girl in question having previously demanded that he surrender his Command Seals to her before trying to do so by force, when a scream had caught both their attention and upon investigated both of them finding a female student lying unconscious on the ground in front of the entrance, Tohsaka saying that almost all of the girl's prana had been drained from her.

As he watched as Tohsaka worked to save the girls life something from the woods that surrounded their school caught the rust haired teen's attention and looking round to see something come hurtling at Tohsaka's head, knowing that he act quickly Shirou reached out and blocked whatever it was with his left arm, a phantom image of a long spike attached to a chain appearing briefly before vanishing.

After telling Tohsaka to make sure that the unconscious girl was safe Shirou had rushed towards where the chain had originated from, preferring to face the danger himself rather than let Tohsaka go he wouldn't be able to live with himself if something were to happen to her despite being more than aware that was more than capable of defending herself, armed with pipe that he'd reinforced with his own meagre Magecraft.

As he moved through the trees Shirou was on high alert, despite not seeing anyone he could tell that he wasn't alone. A noise caught his attention and looking round he was in time to see a figure coming hurtling towards him, the rust haired teen barely having time to use his pipe to block the nail that she wielded before she rushed passed him.

Spinning on his heel Shirou got a good look at his assailant as she came to a halt, the figure in question turning out to be a woman with long lavender colored hair and a clad in a black dress with purple trim had hugged her figure and gave provided anyone with a good view of her physique. Despite this what drew Shirou's attention was the blindfold that covered her eyes along with her choice of weapon, a pair of long spikes attached to a long chain with a ring attached at each end.

"…a Servant…" Shirou exclaimed, not expecting to run into another one so soon, as he watched as the female Servant leapt up into the tree line and vanished from sight.

Once again Shirou was on the defensive, searching for any sign of his opponent and barely having time to react as she tried once again to pull off the same attack she had used at the school, launching her nail at the teen who barely managed to side step it before it could impale him.

Narrowly escaping his opponent's latest attempt on his life Shirou quickly ran over to a nearby tree and pressed his back up against the trunk, not wanting to leave himself vulnerable to attack from behind.

"What's wrong?" He heard the voice of what he assumed was the female Servant speak up from wherever she was hiding, no doubt planning her next move. "Aren't you going to use a Command Seal to call your Servant to protect you?"

"Sorry to disappoint you, don't have many to spare." Shirou replied, taking a chance he looked around as he tried to figure out where the woman could be.

"I see, I must commend you. It seem that unlike my Master you poses an ounce of courage." The hidden woman told him. "For that I will I will take a different approach and give you a merciful death."

The sound of wood cracking caught Shirou's attention and snapping his head in the direction of the noise was just in time to her launch herself at him from his left, raising his weapon the red haired Magus barely managed to block her nail that had been aimed at this head.

Her attack failed the long hair Servant launched a barrage of fierce kicks at Shioru, along with several slashes of her nail weapons, all of which he managed to block or sidestep.

"Can't say I'm impressed." Shirou told his opponent, trying to sound more confident then he actually felt. "I've met four other Servants thus far and I gotta say you're clearly weaker than they are."

"Foolish boy," The mysterious woman told him and she reached forward. "You've been in my trap the whole time."

Before Shirou could fathom what this could mean his assailant closed her hand and seemed to yank at the air in front of her, seconds later a fresh jolt of pain run through his left arm and her found himself being violently pulled upwards and dangling from the branch of a nearby tree.

"I believe you said that I was weak compared to the other Servants, I'll have to punish you for that." The long haired woman said in a calm tone as she slowly began walking towards her seemingly helpless prey. "I think I'll start by tearing out those pretty eyes of yours."

"KIVAT DYNAMIC RESCUE!" Just before the long haired Servant could make good on her threat from out of the trees came a blur of gold and black that raced over to the female Servant, fluttering around her head and managing to avert her attention momentarily away from Shirou.

"K...Kivat…" Shirou exclaimed, feeling both surprised and thankful for his familiars sudden arrival.

"Yo Shirou," Kivat replied. "You gonna fight this chick seriously or are you too busy hanging around?"

"Annoying creature." The mystery Servant hissed in annoyance as he tried to bat away the odd creature that was flying around her head only for it to dodge nimbly out of the way.

"Heh heh, too bad old lady," Kivat taunted. "You'll have to a lot better than that if you want to catch Kivat-Bat the 3rd."

Seeing that his assailant was currently distracted Shirou was debating what he should do. From their exchange it was quite clear that his opponent was too much for him to deal with in his current state. As much as he hated to reveal his secret trump card, given his situation he didn't have much choice if he wanted to survive this.

Gritting his teeth Shirou tossed his pipe aside and reached his right hand out towards Kivat. "KIVAT!" He cried out.

"Yosh, Kivatte ikuze!" The gold and black creature said at hearing this, he then quickly rushed over towards Shirou, narrowly avoiding the nail that the lavender haired Servant tossed in his direction, and sunk his fangs into his master's outstretched hand. "GABU!"

From the point where Kivat bit down the veins on Shirou's hand turned black and a multi-colored markings that looked somewhat like of shards of stained glass appeared on the young man's skin.

Ghostly chains magically appeared around the teenage boy's waist and wrapped around it before melting and becoming a blood red belt. The belt had slots holding ornate whistles on the sides, 6 in total, a high pitched noise filling the air.

Shirou snatched Kivat out of the air and thrust him forward. "Henshin…" He declared before attaching Kivat to a perch in the front of the belt, leaving him hanging upside down. The moment the bat was attached a phantom image of an armored figure appeared around Shirou that morphed and then shattered to reveal his new form.

He was clad in a full black bodysuit. The torso armor looked like a silver vest with a high collar and a blood red chest plate that mimicked muscles. His shoulder armor resembled folded bat wings that were held to the armor by thin chains. He wore red armored gloves and his wrists sported silver bracelets. His right leg was covered with a silver iron boot that reached his knee and was wrapped tightly with chains, as if to hold something back. The left leg was unarmored save for a silver bracelet around the ankle. His head was covered with a black helmet with the visor shaped like a pair of yellow bat wings edged in red. In-between the top points of the wings was a red ornament resembling a bat's head. The mouth guard was silver and framed by black fangs.

"…wha…what is this…" The lavender haired Servant exclaimed, clearly caught off guard by her prey's sudden and unexpected transformation. Her Master had made no mention of this to her when he'd assured her that Emiya Shirou would be an easy kill.

Grabbing the chain in his left hand Kiva began yanking at it, again and again he pulled on it until the branch that the chain was wrapped around gave out and he fell to the ground. The moment his feet touched the woodland floor Kiva seized a hold of the chain in both hands and with a strength that the female Servant had not expected pulled her off of her feet and over towards him.

With a grunt Kiva gave the chain another mighty pull, swinging it around before releasing his hold on it and sent mystery Servant crashing into the trunk of a nearby tree before collapsing onto the ground.

With a grunt of pain the blindfold clad Servant managed to push herself back up onto her feet. "Just what are you? It is quite clear to me now that you are not human." She demanded, her tone a mixture of both confusion and pain. "It was under my understanding that only humans were allowed to become Masters."

Kiva however did not respond, instead he trying to figure out what was the best thing to do next. His transformation into Kiva combined with his Fangire strength had clearly not been something she was expecting and caught her off guard however that was not sometime that he could rely on from this point forward as she would no doubt change tactics and keep him from getting his hands on her.

From their exchange it was clear to him that his opponent was fast and her choice of weapons was going to make getting close to her difficult. He needed something that could even the odds and with his left arm currently not in any kind of fighting condition he was left but with only one option.

Ignoring the stabbing pain in his left arm Kiva reached down and removed one of the Fuestles, a green one shaped like a fishes head, from the left holder on his belt before placing it in Kivat's mouth and slid it closed, a sound that resembled a tone that sounded like a bugle call filling the air.

"BASSHAA MAGNUM!"

Far away within the one of the many rooms located in side of Castle Doran Ramon drew back the curtains of the living room to gaze out at the city that spread out before him whilst, meanwhile both Jiro and Riki's attention was fixed on their latest chess game.

It had been some time since he last left the castle, to feel the breeze and the warmth of the sun on his skin. But how long, he couldn't recall. "Hey, how long have we been stuck in here again?" He asked his two companions.

"Hmmm," Jiro replied, the 'boys' question making him pause from taking a sip of his coffee. "I'd say about 10 years."

Hearing this a mischievous grin spread across Ramon's lips and with a snap his fingers one of the white pawns on the board moved as if by a will of its own, halting momentarily when it met a black piece where it morphed into a dragon and devoured the hapless piece before moving another space.

"Looks like I win again." The youthful looking inhabitant of the castle said, looking pleased with himself. No sooner had he said made his move a noise that sounded like a bugle call was head echoing through the room and a green light began to glow from above illuminating the room. "Looks like I'm called!"

Engulfed in the green light the ghostly image of an inhuman figure appeared around Ramon before in a flash he was transformed into a small green statue that hovered in the air inside a sphere of energy that was carried along through the halls of the castle.

All the while whilst this had been happening Castle Doran had been inflight, having emerged from its hiding spot and headed towards the spot from which its master had called it. As it drew closer a glowing bulge took form in the Great Wyvern's throat that moved upwards towards its mouth where it released a glowing sphere in which contained the Bashaa statuette.

Back in the woods Tohsaka Rin was doing her best to follow the trail of blood left behind by an injured Emiya Shirou who had ran off on his own.

After ensuring that the female student that the two of them had discovered was out of danger she made a beeline for the woods, secretly hoping that the red haired boy hadn't found something there that was too much for him to handle.

'Damnit Emiya, what do you think you're doing trying to be all macho…?' She inwardly growled. If something happened to him…

She was suddenly snapped out of her musings when what sounded like the beating of wings caught her attention she looked by greeted by the sight of what looked like a castle with a pair of wings and the head and neck of purple scaled Dragon flying overhead.

The creature's neck suddenly began to bulge which travelled upwards and a glowing sphere of energy escaping from its jaws and streaked towards a spot not too far from her before flying off.

A breath caught itself in Rin's throat as she watched the creature vanish from view, from her previous experiences its arrival could only mean one thing: Kiva was nearby.

Looking up Kiva saw a green streak come flying through the air towards him, reaching upwards Bashaa's statue fell into the palm of his outstretched hand which, a barrel located at the back rising upwards as three long fins extended outwards, giving it an appearance reminiscent to an old fashioned flintlock pistol.

Chains extended form the weapon, wrapping themselves along the length of Kiva's right arm as well as his chest that seconds later burst off of him to reveal green scaled armor as well as a pair of ribbed fins attached to his forearm and covering his right shoulder.

Lastly the visor of Kiva's helmet as well as Kivat's eyes changed from their usual yellow and red to a seaweed green to complete Kiva's transformation into Bassha Form.

"Another trick…" The mystery Servant commented, seemingly unfazed by her opponents change in appearance. "It will not help you."

No sooner had she said this the lavender haired woman launched her nail at Kiva who didn't even seem to flinch at this. With a fluid like reaction beyond that of a human he raised his weapon and fired a shot in response, the shot in question being a small sphere of water rather than a bullet, which collided with the Servants nail aside.

Not letting up Kiva fired a barrage of shots in his opponent's direction, the Servant responding by swinging her nail and managing to intercept each of the watery spheres aimed in her direction. All except for one that managed to slip past her chains and continued on its trajectory towards her head.

Muttering a curse in a language that Kiva was unfamiliar with the Servant dogged to the right, narrowly avoid the shot that Kiva had aimed at her. The sphere striking the trunk of a tree which resulted in an explosion of splintered wood.

"That power…" The lavender haired Servant said to herself. "Just what is he?"

Regardless it was clear to her that situation she found herself in was far from ideal. Because of the incompetents of her Master she was ill prepared to deal with with…whatever Kiva was, worst still she could feel herself grow weaker by second as she burned through the meagre amount of prana she'd managed to acquire.

As much as she disliked to admit it give the circumstances she was in she only had one course of action: retreat.

Shooting her armored opponent one final glare the long haired woman took off, running through the trees. Kiva firing off several more shots at her retreating form, hitting several trees as the woman's speed enabled her to avoid his shots.

"Trying to run huh, too bad that's not going to work." Kivat smirked from his perch on Kiva's belt. "Yosh, let's go Kiva…"

Giving a small nod Kiva placed his weapon in front of Kivat where the bio mechanical bat sunk his fangs into the fin like hammer of the gun, bringing green energy rippling through it. "BASHAA BITE!"

Moving his arms in a clockwise (left) and counter-clockwise (right) rotation, Kiva brought the Bashaa Magnum up so it was pointing at the sky. As he came to a stop, the red moon changed into a bright emerald half-moon.

Kiva then spread his arms apart as the energy of both Kiva and the last Merman, Bashaa, flowed through his body.

A short distance away Rin was continuing to follow the trail that Emiya had left behind when suddenly a familiar red fog engulfed the area, when it rolled away she found that the time of day having changed from early evening to the dead of night, the full moon glowing high above.

"This again…" the Tohsaka Magus muttered. Just then the sound of a drop of water caught her attention. "Huh…"

Averting her gazed downwards Rin saw that the forest floor had vanished and in its place was a shimmering surface in which she could see her own reflection. "W…water…?"

Back with Kiva the visor of his helmet momentarily flashed brightly as he raised the Bashaa Magnum into the air as the turbine began to spin at a rapid pace. Around him, the water started to swirl in the air, keeping him from sight.

From with the funnel of water, Kiva gripped the green gun in both hands as he aided it towards the Servants retreating back, the three fins located at the base of the Bashaa Magnum's barrel spinning like a turbine and a sphere of water forming at the opening that grew larger and larger with each second until it reached was the size of a basketball.

Only then did Kiva pulled the trigger, launching the sphere of water that seemed to lock onto the retreating Servant, following her through the trees, try as she might she could not seem to lose it, and struck her in the back. A ghostly image of Bassaha's head was momentarily seen as the long haired woman found herself encased in stained glass.

His target neutralised Kiva strolled over to the entrapped Servant, tapping the glass with one of his fingers the woman's prison shattered and she collapsed to the ground, weakened and defeated. The darkness of night vanishing the moment she hit the ground and the early evening twilight returning to take its place.

Letting out pain filled groan the woman quickly became aware that someone was close by and flipping herself onto her back found Kiva standing over her, the barrel of his weapon pointed at her.

Was this it, she was to be defeated by someone who, as far as she could tell wasn't another Servant? Wasn't a Master or someone was even connected to the Holy Grail War. As if being forced to have a worthless Master who couldn't provide her with prana thus forcing her to kill innocent bystanders just to survive wasn't bad enough she was going to be killed by a random person with a strange power.

Just then the sound of a breaking twig from nearby was heard, the sound catching Kiva's attention and his momentarily shifted from his defeated opponent. Deciding not to question her sudden gift of good fortune the mysterious Servant rolled backwards and flipped back up to her feet into a crouched stance where she shot Kiva a stern look before she vanished from view.

Letting out a frustrated grunt Kiva glared at the spot where the long haired Servant had been moments before turning his attention back to spot where the sound of breaking wood had come from and watched as a female figure with black hair tide into a pair of pigtails and clad in the uniform of Homurahara Academy.

Beneath his helmet Kiva's eyes beneath his helmet widened. 'T…Tohsaka…' It was all he could do to not blurt out the girls name as he saw her standing there, a stern look on her face.

"I knew it, I knew that I'd find you here Kiva. Sticking your nose into business that doesn't concern you again." The dark haired Magus said in a stern tone as she pointed a finger at him, red energy beginning to gather at the tips. "Listen here, you've already saved my life more once, not to sound like I'm ungrateful but I hate being in someone else's debt, so in light of this I will give you this one warning: stay out of things that don't concern you."

Kiva gritted his teeth beneath his helmet, what was he going to do? Should he reveal himself to Tohsaka, to let her know that Emiya Shirou and Kiva were the same person? Could he trust her with his secret? However doing so would mean something else, it would reveal that he wasn't human but a Fangire.

How would she react? Would she accept him, or would she see him as nothing more then a monster no different to the other Fangire that had attacked her on that night?

Then there was that Servant of hers, officially the two of them were rivals competing for the Holy Grail, would she send him out to kill him or would the tanned skinned bowman seek him out on his own, he did seem the type that would do so.

As Kiva fretted over what he should do Rin's eyes narrowed, the magical energy gathering at the tip of her finger glowing more intensely. "Did you get that cos this is your first and only warning: Get in the way again and I will take you out myself." She said sternly. "So, what's your answer Kiva?"

Muttering a curse Kiva raised his weapon, already hating himself for what he was about to do, and fired. The dark haired Magus reacting by turning her head, watching as the orb of water missed her head by an inch.

Not letting up Kiva fired off three more shots, all of them purposely aimed at Rin's feet, a shower of dried leaves were launched into the air and floated to the ground. With reflexes beyond that of a regular human's Rin reacted by diving to the side to avoid the armored figures shots.

As the leaves settled Rin looked up only to discover that Kiva had vanished. Getting back up she looked about but could find no trace of the armored warrior.

Once he was a good distance away Kiva pressed up against the trunk of a sizable tree, Kivat detaching from his perch arm the armor that covered his master's body turned translucent before shattering like glass leaving the copper haired teen standing there.

"Oi, Shirou. You ok?" The mechanical bat asked, sounding a little concerned.

"W…what have I done…" He muttered to himself as he pressed the top of his head against the trunk as he looked up to the canopy that hung above.

Because of how he had handled the situation he could now never reveal his secret to Tohsaka, not just that he was Kiva but also that he wasn't human but a Fangire.

If he did how would she react? Would she accept him, from what he'd seen she didn't seem to have a problem with him outside of being a Magus or have a problem interacting with him, or would she view him as a monster, no different than the ones that she'd interacted with recently?

AN And here we are with another entry in this series of one shots and here's one I don't think anyone might have seen coming.

Kiva is another show that I'm surprised no ones written a Fate crossover for, I understand that its a show that seems to get a mixed reaction from the fan base (personally I think its an ok show that was pretty good until its last stretch of episodes where it kind of dropped the ball), however given the whole supernatural elements present in both along with the fact vampires and other supernatural creatures exist in the Nasuverse so I don't think its much of s stretch to have the Fangire running around and the Checkmate Four being a group of antagonists that the participants of the Grail War have to deal with as well as the other Fangire that would be running around.

One thing that could be interesting to do with a Fate/Kiva story would to be to take an element from the Rider side of things since Kiva is a show whose story takes place in 2 different time periods with Wataru and his groups story taking place in then present day of 2008/09 and a second story with his father Otoya set in 1986/87 and getting to see how both stories intertwine and effect each other.

The primary story would be centered Shirou as Kiva, Rin, Artoria and EMIYA taking place in the present whilst other side of the would be set during the Fourth Holy Grail War and starring the characters from Fate/Zero era, the only real deference that story portion of the story set in the past would be taking place in the early 90's instead of the late 80's with Kiritsugu, Irisviel and the other participants of the Fourth Grail War.

There's also some ideas that I'm toying around with, one of those being how to depict Kamen Rider Ixa, the secondary Rider for Kiva. The current idea I've currently got is that the Proto Ixa Driver was developed by a group of Mages from the Clock Tower in collaboration with Church's Executioners (hence Ixa's Templar Knight design), as a weapon to be used against the Fangire who give it to Kiritsugu as they see the Fourth Grail War as the perfect opportunity to field test their creation. However close to the end of the war Ixa comes into Kirei's possession whilst Kiritsugu becomes the second Dark Kiva and during their clash at the climax of the Fourth Grail War they fight as Dark Kiva and Proto Ixa. Afterwards Kirei retains ownership of the Ixa Driver, informing the Mages Association that Ixa was destroyed during the war whilst turning it over to the Executioners who go on to refine and modify Ixa into its 11th version which the version Nago uses in the present day portion of Kiva. As for who would be using Ixa in the present I'm leaning towards with it being EMIYA.

Another idea would be Saber having history with Kiva, she'd have run into Dark Kiva sometime during the Fourth Grail War and following the encounter develops a massive grudge against him after he defeats her and, to add insult to injury, had to be rescued by Gilgamesh. So imagine what would happen when she finds out that her current Master has been keeping secrets from her that involves wearing armor similar to the one worn by a guy that she has a grudge against.

Also just clarify a few things for anyone who's confused, first Rin would of had 2 encounters with Kiva prior to this chapter which is what she's referring to when she says that he's saved her life twice before, the first would have been before the Grail War started where she had a run in with the Spider Fangire and the second would be have been when Illya attacked her and Shirou outside Kotomine church, Shirou snuck off whilst everyone was distracted and transformed into Kiva and before saving Rin from being crush by a car chucked at her by Berserker.

Second Shirou doesn't speak once he dons Kiva's armor is because Wataru didn't speak as Kiva either as Kiva had the whole secret identity thing going on for the first half that show until the other characters found out about it. After they find out Wataru starts talking whilst in the armor. Also a big difference is, a stated in the chapter itself, Shirou in this story is not human, unlike Wataru who was half human, he's 100% Fangire.

And finally at this point not many the only people knows that Shirou is Kiva, the only one's who do at this point is Lancer, who found out when he tried to kill Shirou at the Emiya manor, and now both Rider and Shinji. But that's it. Rin doesn't know. Taiga doesn't know. Sakura doesn't know. Not even Saber knows.

Theme song for this one is Roots of the King, yeah I know Break the Chain is Kiva's theme song but I really don't like that song think its weakest song on Kiva's soundtrack which says a lot since Kiva has a really good soundtrack.

So I'm done, but before I sign off I want to take a moment to thank everyone who checked out the first chapter, I know it was short but I hope you all got some enjoyment from it, and even more thanks to everyone who left a review. And a quick shout out to Femto who asked in their review if I'd write a crossover with Blade, no plans to do one at present but I wouldn't rule it out.

They also said in their review that the main character of Blade Kenzaki and Shirou are similar to each other. I can kinda see it, but then again Shioru has things in common with several Kamen Rider characters. Personally the Rider that I think Shirou is most similar to is Eiji from OOO, in fact I can see Eiji as a version of Shirou who went out into the world, experienced all the suffering and hardships but when the time came rejected Alaya's offer thus never became EMIYA.

So I'm done for now. Please leave some feedback, let me know what you thought of this one and tell me which Rider character you Shirou is most similar to.

As for what's next I've got several option, As it stands I've got 3 completed one shots written out and ready to go and at present have some ideas for one shots featuring OOO, Gaim and Decade. As for what's coming up next and since my birthdays coming up around the same time lets do something special, next time you'll get to see my first attempt at writing Fate/Kamen Rider crossover.

Till next, peace out y'all.
