Welcome back readers to the next chapter of my story. Now I am sorry that I cut the last chapter so short but yet again it was just too perfect to not use. I do want to make up for it but seeing as I barely started writing this and already had my computer delete my work…my computer does not seem to want to work with me. Still I will see what I can make happen.

Chapter 14

~Arena Stands~

"Woah! The prince is Gohan!?" Sharpner asks clearly stunned. It was at this point that the rest of the group of the friends realized they forgot to keep him in the loop.

"Woah is right." Erasa states surprised looking at Gohan with surprise. Afterall, she knew that he would have some muscle but not nearly this much definition. Course the fancy gi he was wearing accented his looks even more in her eyes.

(AN: basically picture an over the top gi. It still has its functionality but suffers in order to look more regal)

"Can't believe that he decided to wear that gi. He stated ages ago that he couldn't move as he wanted in it and its far too weak." Miara states getting a jab in the side from Mel.

"We all know that but gramps helpers were adamant that we needed our prince to show 'proper style'" Mel told him.

"Honestly do you even expect either of those things to matter all that much in this fight." Bri stated rather bored. Course this got her hit by Lime.

"Would you keep quiet! What if the rest of the group hears you." Lime whispers to her urgently. Course Bri just looks over to the rest of their friend group and saw them all still in various stages of being stunned. Still to keep the peace she chose not to reply to Lime being, in her opinion, overly cautious.

"Please even if they were done being stunned they would just think I meant Videl." He muttered but kept quiet after that.

~Arena~

"I still can't believe that you are the prince and you never told me!" Videl growled out annoyed.

*sigh* "Like I said I TRIED to tell you. Several times even. But now it doesn't matter." Gohan told her a bit annoyed.

"Tsk, like hell it doesn't matter right now. You better be ready to explain everything!" Videl ordered him.

"I am going to have to ya…but thanks to you I have no choice but to beat you here in this arena before that." Gohan told her seriously.

"Oh yea…we do kind of have to do this now…" Videl muttered a bit embarrassed remembering how many people were watching her act like this right now. Thankfully they couldn't really hear the conversation. "But if you think you can beat me then you got another thing coming! After all I am the daughter of the strongest man alive!" Videl told him determined.

"Though I am honestly tempted to throw this match seeing as it is my chance to try things out with the man I have to admit I feel a bit attracted to….NO! Videl Satan won't just accept anyone cockily saying they will beat me. Even if it is someone I care a bit more about than usual." Videl thought getting into her stance.

"Ya…that is yet another thing we will have to talk about." Gohan muttered but refocused as Videl finally charged at him. The crowd cheered as Videl tried her hardest to hit Gohan who was trying to make it look less easy to dodge her blows. Something that he could clearly see Videl getting frustrated about but he really couldn't help it.

"Hmm this should be enough power to show the people that their royal family isn't a push over while not instantly defeating her to make her too upset." Gohan thought as he dodged pulling a good amount of ki away from his fist. He then quickly snuck past Videl's guard and hit her squarely in the abdomen while keeping his movements at a 'human' level. This blow sent the female fighter back several feet as she put a hand on the spot while trying to keep up a guarded stance.

"All right looks like that was a decent level to stay at…now let's try and keep at that level for the rest of this match" Gohan thought with a small mental smile.

"Gah! What the hell why does one punch hurt so much!? It feels almost as bad as the old man's special blow. Is Gohan really that strong? No, it has to be a fluke I've never felt a blow that strong from my dad before after all; and he is the strongest person I can fight. Or was dad just holding back that much when he fought me." Videl thought but quickly refocused and began to move again trying to ignore the remaining ache from the blow. But now that Gohan was happy enough with his level of restraint, he was a lot more active in the match. So, this time Videl was forced to be a lot more cautious as Gohan returned fire. Though even to the untrained eyes watching it was clear that Videl was being overwhelmed gradually.

~Viewing area~

"Woah so Gohan really is stronger than Videl." Luke stated in surprise.

"Of course. I mean I told you he was stronger than me and I can match her." Mel told him with a small smile. "Though I am impressed that he has managed to find a decent level of strength to use so fast. I guess his ki control has increased even more than I thought."

"Tsk, I have to admit that he has quite the skill. But he still doesn't have the definition that I have." Sharpner states confidently.

"No but his build really suits him. Especially in that outfit!" Erasa states getting nods from Lime and Bri.

"….shouldn't you be upset with her 'eyeing up your man'?" Miara asks his sister doing air quotes as he did.

"Hey when she is right she is right." Bri states with a shrug.

"Anyways refocus on the match here I don't think it is going to be going on much longer." Lime states.

~Arena~

"Gah!" Videl grunted out as she yet again was cleanly hit. At this point she felt her entire body aching but was still trying to give the match all she could. She was long past thinking about whether winning or losing would be better for her. And instead was giving her all in what was her most intense fight yet. She quickly glanced over Gohan and was rather annoyed to see that he didn't even seem fazed by the few blows she was able to land on him. Still refusing to give up as she tried to pull ever bit of strength, she had left for one last bought. Suddenly she felt the same warmth she felt in her last match burning in her chest. Without any hesitation she tried to pull from that warmth again and it quickly spread to the rest of her body.

"Ok this weird feeling was enough to give me the win last time let's see if it can do it again!" Videl thought than rushed towards him.

In the end her rush ended up surprising Gohan and her first blow's impact pushed him back a small amount. But he quickly recovered and pushed back at her.

"Leave it to Videl to not only notice her ki after accidentally using it last time but also instinctively knowing how to use it. She really is a cut above the other human fighters." Gohan thought as he fought with her still using the same amount of restraint. Their brawl continued for a minute or two before Gohan finally decided to try to end it and loosened his restraint a little bit in order to give Videl one last hit.

He meant to hit her in the abdomen again but thanks to a sudden surprise movement he found himself kicked in the side of the head as his own blow landed on Videl's forehead. What happened after that was Gohan's head moving a bit as he shook off the blow meanwhile Videl found herself knocked out with a bruise forming on her head already.

"And the winner is PRINCE GOHAN!" the announcer calls out happily getting load cheers from most of the crowd. Though Gohan ignored this in favor of checking on Videl. He only acknowledged the crowd after noting that other than a possible headache Videl seemed to have not been badly hurt by his finishing punch. Still, he was more than happy to see the arena staff come over with a stretcher knowing that she would be given a full check over by the medical staff. So, after seeing her leave he left the stage himself and went back into the castle.

~Royal quarters~

After leaving the arena Gohan quickly changed out of the gi into casual wear and plopped onto the couch. He knew he would have to get changed and ready for the small party that was planned soon enough but he was taking some time to calm down after the fight.

"Great job Gohan I am so glad that you held back properly enough to let that girl show her skills off." A voice behind him told him.

"Thanks mom I couldn't let her just be defeated in one blow. It would have just been insulting. But anyways I thought that you were planning on staying home." Gohan told his mother who smirked.

"And miss my first son's betrothal party? I would never even think about it." She told him happy to have surprised him a bit.

"Well, I guess I have yet another reason to not mess anything up during the party." Gohan told her with a small laugh.

"Hmph, you better not. No son of mine will make a fool of himself in front of his subjects." Chichi told him firmly but clearly wasn't too worried.

"I am not worried about the Ox kingdom's citizens. What I am worried about is how the kids at school will react now that this secret is out. Though my new friends worry me even more." Gohan admitted and Chichi sat down next to him.

"Oh honey if they are too annoying with you we can always transfer you over to the Ox kingdom's school…and as for your friends it will be fine. After all, if they can't treat you the same even when you are a prince than they weren't truly your friends anyways." She told him patting his shoulder.

*sigh* "Thanks mom but I think that it is kind of fair to react to suddenly finding out your friend is going to be a king eventually." Gohan told her with a chuckle but did feel a bit better.

=Medical Ward of Arena=

After the fight finished Videl was quickly brought to be checked on and found to be mostly fine. Other than being unconscious and a bit bruised. So, the staff left her to wake up on a cot where her female friends were waiting around. It would have been all of her friends but Erasa was adamant about it being girls only for a reason unknown to the group.

"So tell will you finally tell me why you sent the guys away? They seemed to wanna check up on her with us." Bri asks getting a glare from the blond.

"Do you really think that she will want to have a talk about the truth with the guys around? I mean she even kissed him thinking she couldn't be with him." Erasa asked.

"No but she could just talk to us about it later. We aren't going to be hiding or anything." Bri tells her only to get a blank stare.

"With what you know about Videl do you really expect her to wait?" Erasa asks.

"…ok you are right." Bri admits getting a bit of laughter from the others.

They then waited around for Videl to wake up and were quite happy to notice her being to move a bit relatively quickly.

*nngh* Videl grumbles are she woke up. She slowly opened her eyes as her brain tried to process what happened. Suddenly she shot up and surprised all of the people around her as she sat up in the cot. "The fight…where am I?" Videl asked first remembering the last thing she saw and then noticed her friends.

"Woah girl you are in the medical area of the arena. You just woke up from being knocked unconscious so take it easy. You already have a nasty bruise forming on your head there." Destiny tells her quickly.

"Oh…I lost…" Videl muttered then shook her head. "No that is not important! Why did none of you tell me that Gohan was the prince!" Videl asked the group with just looked at her mildly annoyed.

"We have tried a few times. Hell even Gohan tried to tell you. You just avoided our attempts each time." Destiny tells her making Videl blush a bit embarrassed at the fact that she was right.

"S-sorry…but anyways why are you so calm about this situation!?" Videl asked.

"You mean us?" Lime asked.
"Yes you two! I mean you are just ok with your boyfriend being taken by anyone let alone by me." Videl questioned.

"Heh who ever said that you were taking him?" Bri stated confidentially.

"W-what?" Videl asked confused.

"Just because you are now his fiancé doesn't mean that we are gonna leave him now." Bri tells her calmly among all of the stares while Lime was rather embarrassed.

"S-so you just want me to allow Gohan to just build his harem without any complaints?" Videl asked stunned.

"No, we were the ones that told him that he had to date both of us. If you don't like it that is fine but he wasn't the one to create this situation." Lime told her pushing past her embarrassment to defend him.

"Yeah, she's right. Now if you aren't ok with this situation that's fine. Politics has loveless marriages all the time. If you can't accept that we are with him then you can always just live your life like normal if you want as if you aren't even married." Bri tells her stunning everyone.

"Woah, I knew you had to have some sort of plan but I didn't expect you to be so blunt with it." Erasa states getting a shrug from Bri.

*sigh* "That is just how Bri is. She is just as stubborn as her parents with things." Mel tells the group making Bri laugh.

"You know it. If you aren't focused on what you want, you'll never get it." Bri states proudly.

"…what is even going on here?" Videl asked feeling overwhelmed. She felt so many emotions flowing through her and honestly didn't know which one was the strongest let alone what to do with them. Happiness thanks to having a chance with her first crush, anger due to being forced into a harm, confusion due to the surprise she just got, tiredness/soreness from the battle, and several other emotions.

"Why don't you take some time to think about all the information you just got? I mean you did just wake up from being knocked out by a pretty bad blow to the head." Mel told Videl.

"Tsk, ya I'll do that seeing as these two are giving me more of a head-ace then the punch did." Videl muttered getting an awkward laugh out of the group.

"…well get some rest I guess Videl we'll see you at the party." Destiny tells her as the group finally leaves her alone.

*sigh* "So now I have to think about what to do with the situation I am in. Stupid Gohan wiggling your way into my heart so I couldn't just pick the loveless marriage route without any worries. But at least I got to stick it to my dad no matter what" Videl mutters to herself. She then looked at her own hand with mild curiosity. "And what was that weird feeling I had during those matches? I've never felt that before in a fight and it somehow gave me a boost. This is yet another thing I need to think about. I just hope it's nothing bad." Videl starts to think as she rests in the cot that was given to her.

_Briana and group_

After leaving Videl's room the group walk for a while only to have Erasa turn and glare at Bri.

"I knew you would have a plan set up after being ok with this stupid tournament but did you really have to be so blunt about it?" Erasa asks again with a glare.

"Tsk, I thought Mel told ya. That is just how I am." Bri told her plainly.

"Yes I know you have always spoken your mind but you could have at least done it in a better way."

"And how exactly is there a better way? I was just being honest; we aren't leaving him and the country forced him into a marriage he didn't ask for. If anything we are being decent by deciding to give her options instead of forcing a decision onto her." Bri tells her. Afterall they could have just left it at the marriage was going to be loveless and she would be stuck with no one. For they couldn't just let her have an affair that would be a blight on the royal image. In her mind she was helping Videl seeing as even if she wanted to be left alone they would be able to help her have a private relationship with someone.

(AN: this is just me thinking about how old royalty would be. Afterall if the queen conceived a child with someone else I am sure that it would seem to be an insult to the king not to mention make a mess of things for the family)

*sigh* "I just wish my gal's first crush and now first relationship to go over smoothly for her." Erasa admitted losing a lot of her anger quickly. Mostly because there was not much she could truly get mad about. They were dating him first, as far as she knew there was nothing they could do to stop the tournament, and even gave her a way to sneak out of it.

"I guess we just have to wait and see what happens and support our friends after this mess gets figured out." Destiny tells Erasa already haven given up on trying to figure out the confusing situation any more than she already did.

"You know you just made this stressful and confusing situation even worse right?" Mel states to Bri who just shrugs.

"To be fair this would have been a big mess even without her saying anything. At least most of it is out in the open for this group now." Lime states.

"I guess…but I refuse to be the one that has to explain this whole thing to the guys other than Miara." Mel states already knowing that he would just shrug it off.

"Of course you'd want to tell my brother. Just gives you another excuse to spend time with him." Bri states making Mel blush heavily.

"I-I did not mean it that way." Mel told the two of them getting laughter as the other two were too busy thinking about other things to even notice.

+A while later; Videl+

After simply being lost in her thoughts while laying on the cot Videl was found by one of the castle workers and brought back into the main building. She was then pushed into a room filled with various feminine products that she had no desire to ever actually be around. There was a lot of dresses, make up, and jewelry all around the room.

"Gah why do I have to even be here? It's not even going to be that formal seeing as my class is all going." Videl complains.

"Yes miss Videl you are right about that part but this will be the first party where the future king and queen are present and at least that and your first dance will be shown to the public. So, we must make you look as pretty as possible." One of the female staff members explained yet again to the complaining girl.

After all, Videl was well aware how this publicity stunts and even if she got away with not being a 'girly girl' most of the time she couldn't always. Still this fact didn't make her enjoy the situation any more.

"Please calm down miss Videl I don't want to get any makeup in your eyes. Honestly it is a shame to have such a nasty bruise mar a good-looking face like yours." Another staff member told her using make up to cover the already discolored skin.

"For once I won't complain about make-up" Videl muttered.

"Well perfect. Now how about some eye shadow. Which one do you prefer?" One of the girls ask her making Videl look at her horrified.

"I should have just kept my mouth shut." Videl mentally grumbled but still just let the woman do their job although tried her hardest to keep the amount to a minimum.

=Engagement party=

Time passed yet again and it finally became time for the party to start. In a ball room there was several tables filled with all types of food and drinks with an orchestra playing classical music from one of the corners. In the center there was an area to dance that currently held various officials, nobles, and the visiting class students quietly chatting. Finally on the outer edge of this party there was quite a lot of media workers. Afterall this was the first social event that the previously unknown Ox kingdom prince would be participating in. So, needless to say the class of young adults were feeling rather nervous but were thankful that those that didn't bring fancy clothes were allowed to borrow from a small collection that was prepared for them.

"Oh, I might still be annoyed with the reason but I do have to admit that this old-fashioned party is quite nice." Erasa states with a small smile as she looked around.

"Yea, well the nobles of this world still enjoy this kind of thing to make them feel more important. Hell, they even make sure the music is from a real band simply to show they can afford it." Miara explains far to use to bigger parties that he had to attend with his family.

"Heh, well I suppose you would be a bit bored with things like this. But for us this is a nice once in a life time experience." Luke states getting a shrug. "Yea I figured you'd not understand but anyways it is great to see you in that dress Destiny." He stated then turned to his girlfriend.

"Oh thank you." Destiny told him with a smile.

"Tsk, oh stop with the sappy stuff." Sharpner grumbles.

"Oh come on man just because you are upset that Videl is 'taken from you' doesn't mean you need to hate on everyone else being happy." Luke states with a frown.

"Hehe leave him be he just finally has to face facts for once in his life." Erasa says lightly hitting him on the arm. "But I do gotta say that you clean up surprisingly nicely when you aren't focused on trying to look 'tough'" Erasa tells him looking him over.

"Really? Thanks. I was going to wear a bit tighter of a suit but the staff helping out the class practically shoved this one into my arms." Sharpner explained ignoring the blank stares he got for it.

"Well at least someone gave you a pointer in how to dress for a real party then." Lime tells him as she walks up to the group.

"Oh haha." Sharpner fake laughs at her.

"So, when will Gohan come out?" Erasa asks.

"Pretty soon. Like Miara said these are pretty old fashioned so the king's family are always the last to arrive." Lime tells the group. They then talked a bit more before they heard horns playing and everyone in the room became quiet.

"Now arriving, The honorable Ox king and his family. Lady Chichi, Lady Mellisa, Lady Georgia and Lord Goten." An announcer calls out and the family walked calmly out and sat in chairs provided for them. With the Ox king's being noticeably bigger thanks to being giant compared to the rest of the guests.

"Thank you everyone for joining us on this momentous occasion. My grandson has finally been betrothed to a true warrior princess. Let us celebrate the continuation of the Ox kingdom as these two warriors join hands." The Ox king calls out happily getting respectful cheers from the crowd. After this Gohan and Videl walked into the room side by side. They both ignored the cameras and crowd as they walked in front of the Ox king.

"Thank you, grandfather, for your congratulations. I promise to help you lead our wonderful kingdom to the best of my abilities." Gohan told him with a polite bow then turned to the crowd. "Thank you for coming to my engagement party. I hope that you all enjoy your afternoon and congratulate my lovely fiancé on her victory."

"Thank you prince Gohan. I hope that I can help you make your kingdom prosper for years to come." Videl told him with a small smile. With that being said they sat down a bit in front of the rest of the family.

And with them finally seated the party truly started. People then spread out doing various things from continuing to talk, to dancing, and to eating the provided refreshments.

"Wow I can't believe that Videl actually wore a dress." Erasa states.

"Heh well they probably forced her to seeing as it kind of the dress code this time." Destiny states amused.

"Well either way we will have to wait for them to come down here so we can talk for a bit if they aren't too busy." Luke states seeing as they were told to not go up to the royal family before they entered the room.

(AN: yes this was quite old fashioned but what can I say I was reading a lot of manga recently. Also I just wanted a basic 'royal party' seeing as it really doesn't matter. And I do plan on having a bit more go into this party but I am rather tired currently so it will have to be pushed into the next chapter…sorry.)

=Mr. Satan same time=

While the party was going on Mr. Satan was watching in his living room fuming. His glass of wine was already thrown to the grown along with the fancy snacks he got.

"Grr, Videl what the hell were you thinking!" He growled out for once actually annoyed with his 'precious princess'. "I wanted more power for us! For our family! And now you just gave them a way to not give us anything even after they get the honor of being joined with the Satan family." He growls out knowing that it would be so much tougher for him to gain anything now. Afterall with that stupid bet finished they would use it as an excuse if he tried to ask for more of his wilder ideas.

*sigh* "But I guess at least she will have a spot to hopefully be safe if the worst case scenario happens." Mr. Satan grumbles then did a full body shiver imagining the 'super freaks' coming to find him. Let alone if the world found out that they did all the work that he has been living the high life on. So, he was at least a bit happy that he sort of succeeded. But that didn't stop him from being fully prepared to give it his all to milk at least some benefits from his daughter's new marriage.

"Even if my daughter told them that junk they have to still want to give me support with their supposed weird powers haha. Ya, I mean who wouldn't want the honor of having Mr. Satan himself learning some of their moves or at least as my house's guards gahahahaha." Mr. Satan told himself happily with a laugh. He just knew there had to be a way for him to use fame to get some of those 'fancy light' moves. Then all that would be left is to find some reason for the public to accept him with the powers while making sure they don't ask about the crazy moves that were recorded.

And that is where I am going to end it. Now just like before I don't really feel like using ANs for everything so I am putting it down here. Not that I will do it all the time but at least sometimes…though I am sure you readers don't want to deal with reading this chunk over and over so I am not gonna say it again…as long as I remember. Anyways I hate making Chichi this hated woman and honestly the show does make her rather….unpleasant. So, rather than staying true to that she is gonna show her care for the boys in a different way other than her normal controlling method.

Honestly I wanted to write more for Mr. Satan as well but I am tired and mostly out of time so for now it is time for me to say Ja Ne instead.
