I don't own Naruto or any of its characters, I'm just a fan I enjoyed the anime but I love the fanfics even more, they made me fall for the whole franchise.

Chapter 50

"Come in my girl." Ino took a deep breath and released it before taking a step and placing her hand on the doorknob. The Yamanaka had made up her mind she needed to find out more about the conspiracy surrounding her boyfriend. Ino opened the wooden door and walked inside the room.

Hiruzen Sarutobi was sitting in the chair he sat on the last time Ino was inside the room. Her previous seat looked unmoved from where she left it in front of the aged Hokage's seat. All in all the room looked the same, only Kakashi Hatake being the missing component.

The Hokage looked serious and grim, his old dry lips set in a straight line and his eyes hidden under his big Hokage hat with a pipe held in his hand unlit. Ino walked up to the Hokage taking a seat on the only other available chair.

"Have a seat miss Yamanaka, I have been informed you have come to a decision." Hiruzen began, jumping to the matter at hand. The old man felt his time was coming to an end sooner than later. He lived a very long life, the time spent without his wife until recently has made it a tiring one at that, but he felt he still had one more thing to do before he kicked it.

"Yes Hokage-Sama, but why exactly do you want 'me' to do this?" Ino asked her leader, her face a controlled mask of her clear confusion about the subject. The first thing Ino was taught by her father was how to lie, a good investigator can 'out lie' their targets.

'Lies are the backdoors to the truth.' The platinum blonde thought. The first rule of a successful lie is that it has to be mixed in with as much truth as possible. When Ino lied to Sakura earlier there was some truth to her story, a team did drop the scroll, whichever the Hokage sent. She did lead her team by making Shikamaru collect the scroll and she took the lead while they made their way to the tower.

A great liar is also a great lie detector, Ino liked to consider herself a good liar, how else would she get away from all the trouble she found herself in at home?

"It is simple Ino-Chan." Ino picked up on the change of tone immediately, she thought she didn't phrase her question correctly. Ino Yamanaka is good at leading a conversation with words, phrases, tones, and gestures. The Yamanaka was so sure that she would be running Konoha's Torture and Intelligence department in the next 5 years because she thought she was that good.

"Naruto-Kun has no one to call family, he grew up alone and unloved with the villagers hating him for things that were out of his control." Ino kept quiet and listened, this was the moment of truth being able to pick up on clues listening to the words, and watching the emotions that plague the face when forming them.

Ino picked up on nothing in the thirds visage. The Yamanaka inwardly grumbled, she felt incompetent but it was only a second later she was finding the motivation to try again. She at least picked up on some keywords Family, Love, and Control.

"Goldie-Kun has family in me, and You are mistaken Hokage-Sama." Hiruzen took his Hokage hat off and looked at Ino with a raised brow. "Naruto did not grow up alone, he had friends a-and a best friend who always taught him values and reprimanded him when he was being inconsiderate or bratty. Who encouraged him when he failed and did the best in their power to help him if he was ever asking for it. The Naruto Uzumaki I know was always smiling and laughing during the academy, I did not see a lonely boy in him." Ino controlled her face but inside her heart broke with every word to leave her mouth, Hinata must have fallen in love with the blonde long before she did, she realized during her speech.

"That is why I am asking you Ino-Chan. You and Naruto-Kun have a bond that he would never want to lose." The relic of Konoha's past said proving to Ino just how much the old man cared about the blonde he said he was looking out for. He didn't even know who Naruto's best friend was he just assumed it was Ino because she was his girlfriend.

"If Naruto-Kun is going to trust anybody with his thoughts and feelings it would be you." Hiruzen said giving Ino a sad smile with his wrinkled eyes softening looking like an aged dog on its last days giving you puppy dog eyes. Ino didn't buy the look at all because it was all an act to see him as a trustworthy adult.

"You Saw and heard him 2 weeks ago, he said he would quit the program and leave the village removing his headband in front of the both of us. I don't want Naruto-Kun to leave the village and become a missing-nin I am sure we have that in common right." Ino listened to the Hokage as the man tried to play at her emotions with those final words and she sighed wondering what was going on there.

"Yes, I don't want him to leave." Ino's words were honest and the Hokage nodded at her like she made the right decision. The heiress was being honest but her words did not speak of the Hokage's issues but her own. She didn't want her boyfriend to break up with her and run off with another girl.

"Then help me help Naruto-Kun with his troubles, he needs people loyal to the village standing by his side and helping him cope so he too can one day love this village as his own and one day lead it." Finally, Ino thought inwardly, she was trying to get to this portion of the conversation with all her responses so she was quick to capitalize on it.

Ino also wondered why the Hokage wanted Naruto to 'lead' the village. The Golden blonde never mentioned wanting to be Hokage before.

"Naruto is an Uzumaki from Whirlpool village an ally of Konohagaru." Sarutobi controlled his face but Ino still picked up on that one emotion he tried to hide the most, his shock. "Their clan symbol is everywhere and yet they are unmentioned in our curriculum, what happened to them Hokage-Sama." Ino was serious her face an epitome of wanting answers with the Hokage grunting, he lit his pipe and took a puff blowing it upward.

"Unfortunately they were wiped off the face of the elemental nations, and those that survived are scattered around the world." Again Hiruzen played at her emotions by trying to look like the most hurt person in the room.

"How did they get destroyed?" The curious Yamanaka asked. Ino was sure if it wasn't the fact Sarutobi wanted something from her, he would have dismissed all her questions. Instead, he answered them because he could use them to gain her alliance.

"It was a joint operation between Kumo and Iwa. The two villages had a problem with the Uzumaki clan." Hiruzen began taking another puff of smoke. "They attacked the village during the break of nightfall during the skirmishes of the second ninja war. During the first war, Konoha was the only village to bring a new art in the form of fuinjutsu. An art unknown to many and very effective, which was being provided by our allies the Uzumaki." Ino cataloged everything being said and found them interesting especially because she was learning more about the mysterious blonde.

"During the second ninja war, the Uzumaki was a feared clan, even though they never stepped foot on the battlegrounds. The two villages decided to win against Konoha who had already lost its most powerful ninjas namely Hashirama Senju and Madara Uchiha the Uzumaki clan had to go." Hiruzen sighed rubbing his eyes in shame looking older than he already is.

"But if the Uzumaki clan was destroyed how did Naruto-Kun end up here in Konoha." Ino inquired wanting to get all the details and she wouldn't accept anything less.

Hiruzen paused at that and found that he had said too much already. If he admitted to knowing Naruto's mother he would be revealing that he had the information and never shared it with the blonde enigma with a grudge against authority. The next question would be why he kept it a secret and no amount of shallow reasoning would be enough to cover up one of Konoha's darkest secrets.

"That is a story for another time my girl." Hiruzen instead said cutting the conversation there and Ino had her next objective, to find out how Naruto Uzumaki came to be in Konoha. "For now I want you to stay close to Naruto-Kun, and find out what exactly goes on in that mischievous mind of his." The Hokage made light of what he was asking Ino to do and chuckled at his little joke. Ino only smiled not liking the idea of being a double agent for the old man which he picked up on.

"I know I am asking a lot of you especially because it involves someone you care about and it might feel like a betrayal of his trust to share his secrets with me." Hiruzen again gave Ino an understanding smile that looked sad. "I just want you to know that in the end, you will be helping him and your village. There are things about Naruto-Kun that I cannot divulge to you yet but know that in time I will tell you both." With that Hiruzen stood up his aura of Hokage draping him like a cloak demanding respect and fear.

"Do you accept this request from an old man? I am entrusting you with the future of not only Naruto-Kun but the leaf village as a whole. Can I count on you, Ino Yamanaka?" Ino took some time to play with the idea, she had already made up her mind on what she would say to the request. She just wanted to play the part of a person battling against morals which is why she looked down and kept her face hidden from the Hokage.

"I accept Hokage-Sama." Ino said standing up and looking up at the old man revealing to him that she didn't like the idea but the thought of losing Naruto was her driving force for doing it.

"Thank you, Naruto-Kun is lucky to have you." Ino nodded at those words not saying more. "You are dismissed genin Ino Yamanaka." At that Ino bowed and walked away from the aged Hokage leaving the room. Hiruzen sighed and took another puff of smoke.

"What do you think Inoichi-Kun?" At those words, a man was revealed to be hidden under a genjutsu. Ino's father had a frown on his face showing how much he thought of this whole ordeal and the fact his only daughter was involved. As a dutiful Shinobi, he answered honestly.

"Ino is very curious and observant, she will do as asked but you should know that she will also look for answers to satisfy her curiosity, especially because it involves her 'Golden boy'." Hiruzen nodded having picked up on the girl's curious nature by the questions she asked that almost had him revealing too much.

"We will cross that road when we get there, for now, the Jimchuriki of the nine tails is our priority." Hiruzen said pulling on his pipe and finding the tobacco finished the old man sighed and nodded to Inoichi. Hiruzen always wanted to let time do the fixing which was bad for everybody else since he didn't have much of it left and when he passed they would live with the consequences of his actions.

Sasuke walked down the cafeteria looking for something to eat, it was quite early around 4 am, and he couldn't sleep. His mind was still plagued by what he will do and when because it was just a matter of time. The dobe had to go, if Sasuke let that fool reach adulthood he will have him looking like yesterday's news.

Sasuke saw pink staring at him, in front of her was Kabuto the useless genin disgrace. If Sasuke got a chance to fight him he will kill the guy in cold blood, he didn't deserve to live. Sakura looked up to Kabuto and told him some things Sasuke was not privy to with the man nodding before walking away and readjusting his glasses.

"Good morning Sasuke-Kun." Sakura jogged up to Sasuke and greeted making the Uchiha stop walking and stare at her. A second later he nodded grunting in response.

"Hn." Sasuke sounded out before walking past Sakura. The girl who wanted to spill all her secrets next to Sasuke's feet followed him with a jog before walking at a more relaxed pace with Sasuke next to her about an arm's length away.

Sasuke sighed, why did this girl never give up? She was like a little cockroach that kept getting on his nerves, he needed space to think, to plan, to plot before he executes a certain blonde.

"Congratulations on passing Sasuke-Kun." Sakura began and Sasuke sighed it wouldn't hurt to put the girl in her place in a more harsh way or at least it wouldn't hurt him.

"It doesn't matter." Sasuke dismissed the whole topic with a simple phrase he grabbed a platter and moved towards the Chunin seating there preparing breakfast for those who passed. "Give me a sandwich." Sasuke said to the man not greeting or even acknowledging him as his superior In ranking.

'Sasuke-Kun is so cool.' Sakura fawned over the rude boy's behavior, the bad boy's attitude bring butterflies to her stomach. The Chunin grumbled but also knew that the little twerp's brother was Itachi Uchiha and his father Fugaku Uchiha. Sasuke represented a can of worms he would not reach out to with a 30-foot pole.

"Hn" Sasuke thanked with so much gratitude the Chunin decided with that simple grunt. "Why are you still following me Sakura?" That was a good question, they were not teammates nor were they, friends.

"Uhm I just thought since we are both the first to wake up we could hang out." Sakura explained all the time she blushed and blushed until she looked like a red person.

"No." Sakura's blush got killed so fast that she thought she got goosebumps instead. Sasuke continued on his walk and sat down at a table that had only one chair available showing he wanted to be alone.

Sakura bared her teeth in frustration, bawling her hands in the process her stubborn nature made itself the primary motivator and she followed the cold Uchiha grabbing a chair on her way and sitting down in front of him.

"What is your problem, I try so hard to….." Sakura was interrupted by Sasuke slamming his hand on the table.

"Try hard to do what, annoy me or anger me?" Sasuke wasn't taking anybody's shit he had a bad few days and he didn't get a good night's sleep so you could guess his state of mind at the moment. Sakura flinched away from the cold glare she received.

"Your annoying Sakura, all you do is annoy me like a fly buzzing around my ear. You bring me nothing but headaches, I find your character ridiculous, your behavior repulsing and your strength laughable. You lack conviction in everything you do and I hate that about you." Sasuke's honesty had two effects on Sakura the first was the fact she was hurt by them, and the second she was angered by them.

"Everything you seem to like about Hinata uhh?" Sakura accused, voice bitter. She only got a grunt from the Uchiha the boy not caring for Sakura's opinions.

"I am the one that loves you Sasuke-Kun! since the first day I saw you. I gave all my time and effort looking to please and gain your affection! not your deformed Hyūga heiress." Sakura was saying this in a whispered shout and she almost fell off her seat when Sasuke abruptly stood up eyes looking down at her in fury.

"Say that again." Sasuke requested voice dangerously low, Sharingan eyes blazing, staring at the pink-haired Haruno like she would forfeit her life if she were to repeat her words. The Chunin in the distance froze and decided that the pole should add a few more meters.

"I I sorry." Sasuke sat back down and swallowed a sandwich in one go losing his appetite for the rest of his breakfast.

"You are an Idiot, the worst I feared was having both you and the dobe as part of my genin team. The both of you would be holding me back until I felt like a weakling and a part of your little family of weak individuals." Sasuke stood up. "Leave me alone Haruno or you will regret it, I am not the type of person you want to say you, love, because I will have you proving it one way or another." The Uchiha finished on that cryptic note turning around and walking away.

"Then let me prove it!" Sakura called out to the Sharingan wielder making him grunt but he kept walking he wasn't going to take the pink-haired girl seriously, he was going to train.

«««««"»»»»»

On the fifth day of the Chunin exams, the second phase was complete. Naruto slept away on the fourth day and so did Shikamaru. Hinata kept herself busy in her room doing what only she knew. Sakura played with her chakra control trying to find other conditions to either heighten her attributes like speed and strength or anything really, she came out lacking and that disappointed her.

Ino had been locked up in her room ever since she heard team 7 had arrived all of a sudden fearing a conversation with her fellow blonde. Kiba trained and so did Sasuke both boys looking to get stronger in a day somehow. Shino always the loner found company in the form of an eating Choji all the rookie 9 simply waiting to hear the word on the next phase.

It wasn't a very long wait because at dawn the very next day, they were called to the main hall of the building. There they found their senseis waiting for them and also saw who exactly made it through to the next round. Teams 7, 8, 9, and 10 as well as the team Kabuto was in from Konoha made it.

Kankaru and Temari growled at that, this was Konoha's Audacity to boast another generation of mass murderers. Temari looked to this so-called team 10 and her mind went back to the stories of a fabled Ino-Chika-Cho. She looked to team 8 seeing an Inuzuka and Aburama. she remembered the pink-haired girl she must then be their genjutsu specialist and some kind of strong female genin. Temari smirked she wouldn't mind having a piece of that when it matured.

Kankuro looked at his sister and sighed she wouldn't stop talking about how much she would destroy the pink-haired girl and make her a personal slave or something and have her licking the feet she walked on. Kankuro didn't bother explaining to her that wasn't how the phrase went.

Gara looked to this so-called elite team of Konoha and had his targets locked, the Hyūga took away his prey and this Naruto Uzumaki who challenged not just him but his mother. He called Gara small and wimpy. Gara smiled if this Izumaki wanted death so much it would only be fair he made it his most Artistic. All that blood and gore will wash all the rage away, Gara took a deep breath with his nose making Kankuro and Temari freeze Baki only directed his eyes at the boy still facing forward.

Gara released his breath from his nose and mouth his tongue coming out like a predator that found its next meal. Bloodlust hit everybody in the room like a punch to the gut. Those who felt it had several reactions.

The Jonins who stood inside the room took it like champs, all having gone through so much life and death situations that the thought of dying wasn't that big a deal. The genins though were the most affected, only those who knew the fear a tailed beast could invoke would rise to such killing intent.

Hinata had already felt this Killing intent passing over her like some kind of mental attack. She also felt the Kyuubi's which trumped this one by gallons. She would not call it weak killing intent because she was still afraid but more than lacking.

Shikamaru stood straighter, feeling his life had a certain meaning all of a sudden and that was survival. He would not win there no matter what he planned ahead of time. How could this guy show him images of a world without clouds, and make it seem like a possibility?

'I'm going to forfeit if I'm fighting against this guy. We are a lot, I'm sure they will peg us against each other to crop down the numbers. Troublesome.' Shikamaru looked up at the sky and only saw gray. The Nara decided he should at least try, to show the audience enough to consider him a candidate worthy even against the genin with clear Insomnia. The shadow user didn't want to be like Kabuto doing this every year because his mother would make sure he did until he passed.

'It's fear!!' Choji thought with eyes widening, his heart beating hard by the killing intent that was informing him, there was no food in the afterworld but all Choji cared for was finally understanding what motivated Shikamaru.

"Now I have to become some kind of badass Shonen protagonist who always ends up in bad situations." Kiba looked at Choji weirdly, what was the guy talking about, couldn't he feel that stomach-turning, gut clenching, horror showing Killing intent? Kiba whistled, that was intense shit right there, No way was he going up against that guy with only Akamaru.

'If the sexiest mistress of Konoha was around I'd have to fight.' The Inuzuka looked around, the room and found nobody by the name of 'sexiest mistress of Konoha' around and sighed in relief before realization dawned on him.

"She wouldn't proctor two exams would she." The Inuzuka wondered out loud shivering at the thought of having to fight the alpha to prove he was the bigger dog around or risk embarrassing himself in front of the mother of his pups. His words made Sakura look at him in anger.

'Is he seriously having perverted thoughts right now, is he turned on by death or something?.' Sakura was sweating bullets, what kind of monster was this to kill Sasuke so brutally before killing her parents even though they were faceless individuals in her vision? Orochimaru said she shouldn't do what he asked her to do ever again, he had a fun time but games like that should be kept under adult supervision.

Shino gapped openly, the most emotion anyone would ever see an Aburama make. Itachi caught it not caring, Sasuke saw it not caring, and Naruto saw it and snickered at its ridiculousness. Hinata was blind, but she might as well be the only person who knew how Shino felt. The rest of the genin were too busy with their fear factors to see.

Again everyone who spotted the once-in-the-blue-moon occasion did not care. There was nothing it would bring them in the world, so why exactly care about some nameless brat and his feelings? That was Kabuto's thoughts on the matter at hand he just wanted to see the blonde fight.

The man was a backstabber through and through he worked with Danzo, Orochimaru, a nameless individual, and more importantly for himself. He is always looking for more and more ways to get what he wants and experience everything so he could be 'that guy' who experienced and did everything.

'This one is just a mindless monster.' Kabuto thought about Gara's attempt at scaring him and instead looked to the enigma Naruto Uzumaki. He was forfeiting but the moment he left this room he would be out there in the village putting his skills to the test and gaining information on the blonde.

Kabuto controlled the smirk about to escape into his features. Oh the thrill of information gathering, the dangers of enemy territory, the exotic women in all those villages looking to save an injured teenage boy before giving themselves to him with all the lies he feeds them. From there it's a straight line to information, seeing as all those women were in high positions in society and married. Kabuto readjusted his spectacles to hide his smirk.

Naruto finished snickering at Shino's reaction before looking back at Gara, eyes a challenging Mask of determination. He had a grudge against the Nine-tailed fox and beating one of its kind black and blue would let him vent some of his anger for the beast that never showed its ugly face, best part was it would do for some very prestigious bragging rights.

'Now how to get him to transform.' The Uzumaki was too conceited for his own good, this was ridiculous on all levels of sanity, the guy was still stuck unable to beat a fellow genin by name sake Hinata yet here he was thinking of challenging a literal-tailed beast.

"WHAT IS THAT SUPPOSED TO BE!" Naruto bellowed to the perpetrator of the heavenly Killing intent throwing him a birdie in the process with two hands located close to his junk while his hip came forward in a thrust.

He quickly looked to Hinata who was glaring at him but sighed because she didn't do anything. Lucky for him she did not see what he did. Itachi simply smiled at the energetic blonde's mischief, remembering all the stories Izumi told him about the week she spent with him, of course, she wouldn't share with him that he was doing undercover for them saying it was secret police business.

It saddened Itachi that Izumi didn't have those kinds of stories of his little brother. 1 week with Naruto and Izumi had so many 'cool' stories to tell and some fun tales to regale regarding Shisui. Izumi knew Sasuke since he was a baby yet she never had any real interactions with him.

'Foolish little brother.' Itachi thought looking at his little brother. Sasuke smirked with a hungry look in his eyes, the battle-hungry Uchiha finding another worthy opponent to crush in these exams. Who cared about fear and danger? He would just crush all those terminologies on his way to the top of the food chain.

'Fuck Madara Uchiha, I'll be greater than him.' Sasuke thought with his bloodlust coming out to challenge the one attacking everyone in the room. It wasn't a wide-felt event but the potency of his killing intent did cancel out the one Gara released letting Sasuke stand there like a man on a nice breezy afternoon, Sharingan glowing ominously hands in his pocket and an unbothered aura surrounding him.

Ino just decided there were monsters in this world she should not tangle with. It wasn't worth it, especially because she planned on following a different root in the job called Shinobi. The fear was there and she tried grabbing onto something but alas her Golden boy wasn't close.

'It would be so messed up to have to fight him now.' Ino at least got a chuckle out of the thought. Because she knew even out there in the heat of battle she would start questioning him on what was going on. The Yamanaka heiress decided not to pray to those losers she called on, they never listened anyways.

The leaf genin if anything was not shaking in fear like some of the other contestants and Baki noticed it. The hidden leaf village always made these ridiculously prodigious brats who one day became a torn to the elemental nations and on occasions Konoha itself, when would other villages get to shine in the eyes of the populace?

'Only two teams not from Konoha made it through.' Baki growled thinking the tournament was rigged, the hidden leaf village couldn't have so many talented teams at their disposal, and worse three of those teams were made up of newly minted genins.

The only other team left was a team of sound nin who honestly looked the part of your typical bad guy but we all know how those fools end up. Neji looked over to Hinata and balled his fists, if fate was gonna play him for a fool he was just gonna reject it and seek to destroy all that represented his fate.

'Starting with whoever I am to fight in the next round' Neji glared forward not willing to face Hinata because he felt like he got served. All his big talk unable to stack up to his actions, the prodigy of the Hyūga clan was humiliated by little weak Hinata its greatest failure. The Hyūga wanted a rematch.

Lee was just happy to make it as far as he did in these exams, in the first round Tenten helped him in the written portion by letting him cheat from her clever use of mirrors. In the second round, he cost his team a scroll and became a liability, only to later find out Neji's little cousin beat him in a straight-up fight.

'I will let my youth shine in the next phase.' Lee thought uncharacteristically serious eyes locked onto Gara who showed him a world without Youth. Nobody had the right to threaten youth like that, it was a sacred thing. Lee decided he would take on this challenge with his everything even if his feet didn't stop shaking in fear.

Tenten held strong against the killing intent radiating from the auburn-haired genin standing behind the railing on the other side of the room. She felt like she could kill herself before she let him get his hands on her and her hand holding a Kunai tightly in her grasp as it shook was willing to do the deed.

Tenten sighed in relief when she felt her sensei's strong hand on her shoulder showing her support and helping her calm down. A moment later the Hokage walked out of a room followed by the proctors of the first and second rounds of the exams.

"Congratulations on making it to the next phase of the Chunin exams all of you, by completing your objectives of collecting and delivering both heaven and Earth scrolls to the tower." The third Hokage began talking. "The heaven scroll represents our spiritual chakra or our yin alignment. It represents our will to stand against the forces that look to hurt us." Naruto only kept a straight face not caring for the hypocrite's words. The old man was standing there preaching nonsense if you asked Naruto.

"The earth scroll represents physical chakra or our yang alignment. It represents our body's ability to push further and reach higher heights so it can one day dominate all that stand before it." The Hokage paused raising his hands to his side and releasing an aura of authority. "Mix these two aspects and you have what we like to call THE WILL OF FIRE!" Ino looked around the room and saw many people were motivated by the Hokage's words only a few didn't react to it. She couldn't look at the aged professor the same anymore.

Naruto was hyped. A man by the name of Gekkō Hayate came forward to explain there were too many of them and that they had to cut down on competition in the third phase, the tournament.

Naruto was happy to see Ino today, he hasn't gotten the chance to talk to the girl since the day he left her hanging, he felt bad about doing that and that was the first thing he planned to apologize for.

He stole a glance at Ino and felt nervous about the conversation they would have later on. How did he begin to explain he was in love with another girl, how did he begin to say he didn't want to hurt Hinata and yet was going to hurt Ino? He felt like a jerk and his nerves began making an appearance dreading the eventual confrontation.

Naruto blinked and felt a hand take hold of his own. Looking to his left he saw Hinata looking at him, understanding written all over her concerned face before she squeezed his hand reassuringly. Mouthing I love you to the blonde who grinned at her words all his fears were gone, he was doing it for himself and Hinata. The special girl in his life.

"No way…" Naruto looked over at Kiba who gawked openly at something above before looking at Naruto in pity. Shikamaru said something about troublesome situations and Sasuke smirked looking at Naruto with unapologetic eyes. Sakura and Choji were in shock but their eyes were up and Ino who was staring at Naruto with wide eyes.

"The first match will be…………" well damn Naruto thought when he saw his picture next to…………

Authors note:

We have reached the preliminary exams y'all know that dialogue is like a broken record so I won't drag it on The first battle is between Naruto and someone that has everybody shocked at who it might be.

The toxic environment that is Sasuke and Sakura will one day cause those around them harm if it is not controlled quickly and efficiently.

What will happen next time on A different telling find out in the next chapter... cliffhanger!!!! (author singsong voice mocking y'all.)

In this chapter I realized I know next to Nothing about the preliminary rounds of these exams except the fact all the rookies passed and Kabuto's team did too including the Suna team and like one sound team. Kishimoto must have wrote these exams while in the toilet because it makes no sense for them weak rookies to make it so far... lucky for him I'm gonna fix his mistakes by adding my own shit in the exams fun fights...

Random question...

i don't think my characters are Ooc, do you?

I swear I feel like I'm writing a compelling story and my characters are on point. Kishimoto made most if not all women stereotypical shonen females in Naruto. Here Ino is still carefree and energetic as well as loving and supporting if not a little too curious.

Sakura is still brash, heavily into Sasuke and sometimes inconsiderate like what she said about Naruto and his status as an orphan in canon or when she lied that she loved him for some shallow reason.

In canon the most touched on attribute of Naruto Uzumaki is his stupidity and lack of knowledge. I don't know how to right a stupid person because I lack insight on such things. I concentrate more on his honesty, determination and innovative ideas as well as give him a dose of common sense to know when he is being played like a trumpet.

Sasuke is always edgy and extreme, he has a sadistic side as we see in shippuden when he chidori lanced Karin to get to Danzo and he is prone to his emotions. He is willing to kill Naruto as we all saw, and planned on ruling the world through fear there's nothing Ooc about that. I have seen stories were Sasuke actually has a civilized conversation with Naruto and Sakura telling them of his feelings, now that's Ooc. Lol

Hinata went through a lot in Canon but her problems became second base to her feelings for Naruto and Neji's grudge against her. After the Chunin exams nothing more changed. worse she became a stay at home mom in boruto I will never watch that show by the way even though I have about 155 episodes sitting in my Mac. Here she still loves the blonde but she is also willing to stand up for him and not let others threaten his well being if that really is Ooc then this ain't the story for y'all .

The clue is in the name. A different telling.

I should prolly name it A different better telling tstststs

I'm so badass
