Halt
The van comes to a halt.
Taylor waits, heart hammering and one hand clutching the baseball bat. The drivers get out, then the back doors to the van open and the Dragons start unloading stuff. She needs to get out of the van before they lock it, or she'll be trapped and she can't help April.
She edges to the front of the van, waits until she's certain they're gone and looks out the window. She can't see much, but it doesn't look like anyone's around. Slowly, she opens the door and steps out, easing the door until it looks like it's closed. The back doors are still open, so she needs to be quick. There's a tarpaulin nearby; she quickly hides under it.
what are you doing what are you thinking
you're going to get yourself killed
April will be killed if you don't do something
"So what are we gonna do with her?" one of the Dragons asks.
"What do you think we're gonna do? Hun's not here yet, and he wants to make an example personally."
That does not sound good.
But Hun isn't here yet. They still have some time.
Then it's quiet. She eases the tarpaulin aside and gets up.
She's in a warehouse of some kind.
