Chapter 6
First steps
Konoha Hospital
In the infant ward, only 28 of the 40 children were left. In general, many people preferred infants, as they had a fragile psyche and no attachment issues. After the incident on October 10, no more newborns arrived and it became easier and easier for Maya to look after them. In general, Maya was phenomenally responsible. Kushina and Minato kept their daughter warm and cared for. Kushina was careful to keep the datebane habit from being passed on to the child. Hiruzen, as an elder, fulfilled his duties both in Konoha and in his clan. He appointed his son Kasaro Sarutobi as the head of his clan, but he did not communicate with his second son.
There were fewer and fewer children in the baby ward. Maya sincerely hoped that those who were taken into the family were living well. And now there were only three children left in the ward. Our indispensable Naruto, and two boys. One was a brunet with a pale complexion and dark brown eyes, and the other was blue-haired with slightly tanned skin and green eyes. Pointing to the blue-haired and brunette, she waited for his decision. Danzo looked at them and asked.

There was silence in the chamber after he left. Maya looked into Naruto's sad eyes and asked what happened?

They walked like that for another twenty meters and Naruto let go of one hand. Maya was more and more surprised by Naruto's persistence. And now he had already walked more than 79 meters holding on with one hand. But suddenly he stood in place, standing for a minute, shuffling his feet. Suddenly he let go and started to walk alone, he walked 20 meters and fell on his butt on the green grass. Maya wanted to rush, but suddenly Naruto showed a sign of refusal and began to slowly rise to his feet. Maya understood Naruto's actions, for she had trained other children before by beckoning to her.
And so Naruto began to walk back to her, walking slowly, raising his arms. But when he was five meters away from the nanny, his legs trembled and he had to stop. Maya, seeing the child's efforts, immediately began to encourage him.
-Come on, Naruto, you can do it. And started beckoning with her hands.
Naruto, dramatically serious, began to scatter. When there was a little distance left, he jumped into Mae's arms. Both of them laughed in a burst of joy.

Even though they don't know about everything. And this is the night Maya will never forget. She was washing both her and Naruto's clothes in the bathroom where the children were being washed. Naruto himself was biting his fingers until they bled from the pain in his stomach. Maya, walking over to him, started checking his forehead. Naruto's temperature rose and he began to fold in half. Frightened, the girl started to lift the baby in her arms and put him on the bed. She then ran to get an IV. Running back she injected a painkiller and at the same time checked her stomach with a mystical hand. When she examined it she was shocked. Naruto's small channels of chakra were beginning to grow. Usually shinobi started to grow by the age of three and their pain threshold wasn't as noticeable. But for Naruto at ten months old, it was unbearable and she hadn't experienced this before. She lay next to Naruto until morning. When she woke up, she heard.
-Sister-in-law get up, are you sick? Is there anything I can do to help?
-Naruto, when did you wake up?
-About an hour ago! I didn't want to wake you up! You must be tired.
He continued, shifting from foot to foot.
-I just wanted rice balls, but I can't reach them.
Maya smiled and rubbed her blond head, and then she remembered last night. She immediately rushed over to check. Naruto himself was cheerful and didn't see anything wrong with last night. But then her eyes fell on the bitten finger. The bite marks were gone. She decided to ask a question.

Hiruzen, walking down the hallway, was wondering what had happened to the child. But when he saw a boy with wheat-colored hair and sky-blue eyes downstairs, he smiled good-naturedly.
-Hello, Naruto, how are you? -Hello, Grandpa.
-Hello Grandpa, do you know me? -Hello. Who are you? Are you strong? Although I think you're wiser than strong! Maya-chan said old people are like that!
-Ohoho, I think she's right about something! My name is Hiruzen Sarutobi, though you can call me Grandpa!
Laughing off the tirade, he marveled at Naruto's development, and his hopes for Maya were realized. Maya, on the other hand, sputtered and ran up to Naruto and pecked him on the forehead.

Naruto rubbed the back of his head with his hand and gave an embarrassed apology. And Maya, taking a deep breath, continued.
-Okay, I'll leave you two alone, Naruto, don't be a bully! I have to go get some tests and take them to the lab. Also Hokage-sama, can I talk to you later?
-Of course, Maya-chan!
And so the old man and the child were left alone. And then Naruto grabbed his robe and dragged him to a small table.
There was a board with sega pieces on it. Maya was teaching him to develop his intelligence.
-Grandpa, shall we play? It's boring here and we don't go out much.

So we started playing. Hiruzen wanted to see how much his intellectual capacity had increased. Hiruzen, reading the test results, was increasingly dumbfounded that Naruto's chakra had not only awakened, but chakra channels had begun to grow. Naruto's chakra was huge and raging. After reading the report in its entirety, he found himself pondering. He was glad that his physical and mental state was normal. Maya was the first to speak.

Maya was frightened, but decided that whatever the truth was, she would accept anything as long as Naruto wasn't hurt by it.
-Okay, Hokage-sama I swear I won't divulge this secret.
Hiruzen, sighing, began the story.
