Whistle

She didn't think they'd do it.

For April, yeah, but...not her.

What's going to happen now? Hun still has his hand around her throat.

"Shall we get chains?" one of the Dragons asks. Leo's fists clench at the words.

"Chains and rope," Hun replies.

The Dragon gestures at April and the restrained Taylor. "For both of them?"

Hun pauses.

"No."

Suddenly there's a loud whistling sound and a thud. Hun yells in pain and lets Taylor go; she rushes towards the turtles just as more Dragons cry out and fall.

A figure in a mask is stalking towards them, carrying a hockey stick in his hands.

"'Bout time you showed up!" Raph says, but he's grinning.

Mikey sends a distracted Dragon flying with one kick before snatching up his nunchucks. "Let's get this party going again!"

"Donnie, get the girls out of here!" Leo shouts. "Get them back to the truck, now!"

Leaving the battle behind them, Taylor, April and Donnie hurry down the streets to where the turtles' van is waiting. Taylor doesn't remember ever running so fast in her life. Adrenaline is coursing through her veins and she feels ill.

Donnie ushers them into the vehicle. "Lock the doors. Don't open them until we get back!"

The doors click shut, leaving the two women inside.

Taylor closes her eyes, leaning against the back of her seat.

It's OK. They got away. They're safe.

"The doors don't lock from the inside, do they?" she murmurs.

"Nope."
