Chapter 25:

Supply and demand

The streets of pentagram city were filled with the usual chaos and bloodshed as the trio consisting of the princess of hell, Charlie Morningstar, her father, Lucifer Morningstar, the king of hell and the princess's girlfriend, the fallen exorcist angel, Vaggie arrived at the heaven embassy in the middle of the pride ring.

Vaggie would shiver upon laying eyes on the ornate looking building. Lucifer would take notice of this as he put a comforting hand on her shoulder "I know….it still makes me uncomfortable too"

The princess however was in much higher spirits "Come on, we don't know how this will go. This might be just the talk we need"

Vaggie would put a hand on Charlie's shoulder to reel her in "I don't know Charlie. Don't get me wrong, I adore your enthusiasm, but remember last time we spoke to heaven? I just don't want you to get your hopes up, only for them to absolutely shatter them…..AGAIN"

The princess would look over her shoulder, seeing both her partner and her father look at her, worry plastered over their faces

"She's right, Charlie, we all know how…. "difficult" heaven can be, and that would still be putting it mildly" the king of hell spoke up.

"I know" she answered before pulling the both of them into a tight hug "But this time, I got 2 of the 3 most important people in my life with me" This caused both fallen angels to smile warmly at her as they readied themselves and stepped inside.

They would go through the motion of signing the attendance scroll like last time and getting assigned a conference room.

As Charlie stepped inside, before she could even get a single word in, a certain young seraphim would lunge herself around her neck "CHARLIE IT'S SO GOOD TO SEE YOU AGAIN!" before Vaggie too was assaulted into a hug by the eager angel "AND VAGGIE TOO, WELCOME" before she was cut off by the sound of somebody clearing her throat "Emily, don't forget, we are here on official business. We need to set an example"

The high seraphim would emerge into the light as the the king of hell gave her an uneasy glance "Sera…" which the taller angel returned "Lucifer….."

The high seraphim would gesture to the large boardroom table and as everyone took their seat, Sera would nod to Emily, indicating she had everyone's full attention.

"Charlie, Vaggie, I have grand, WONDERFUL news!" the young seraphim eagerly bounced in her chair before she gestured to the corner of the room towards a previously unseen 4th individual "Would you like to say something?"

To say the trio was surprise would be a understatement, their eyes going wide in disbelieve as a serpent looking angel wearing a tophat emerged "Hello my dearsssss"

The 2 women flung themselves around his neck "PENTIOUS, YOU'RE ALIVE?!" Lucifer stared at the scene before him, mouth slightly agape, eyes wide as he muttered "…..does this mean…..what I think….."

Emily would interject "You were right, Charlie! It works. Your hotel WORKS" This caused the princess to get so excited, her horns and tail popped out as she began to dance around the conference room while fiery wisps began dancing around her "iknewitiknewitiknewitiknewitIKNEWIT!"

Vaggie couldn't contain her excitement either, tho managed to speak In between laughs "Charlie, babe, calm down or you're gonna set the embassy on fire"

After finally managing to get her emotions back under control, the princess turned her attention to Sera "But….does that mean…."

The high seraphim gave a smile, tho the princess could see regret in her eyes "It means that, by the decree of the heavenly court, there is no more excuse to keep the exterminations going. And henceforth, they shall be cancelled indefinitely"

This caused another happy, fiery outburst from the princess who threw herself around her partner "WE DID IT, VAGGIE! WE FUCKING DID IT!"

Lucifer turned to Sera "So, does this mean….that heaven will….."

Sera answered "Yes, with concrete evidence that redemption is indeed possible, heaven shall assist the hazbin hotel in whatever ways possible, starting with finding out exactly WHAT gets a soul into heaven" before her expression became solemn "…it's the least we can do….to make up for…all the human souls…that we….that "I" allowed to…" as her gaze slowly fell down onto her hands, which began to slightly shake.

She would be snapped out of these dark thoughts by a gentle hand on her arm. And as she looked up, she was met with Lucifer's gaze "If there is anything I have learned from my daughter, it is that it's never too late to want to change" as the 2 of them shared a smile "I mean…" as he then gestures to the former serpent sinner, a bright halo floating above his head "…we got the proof right here"

After the excitement had died down, Sera spoke up again "However, that leads us to our next point of discussion"

She would wait for everyone to return to their seats and give her their full attention. Once she knew she had it, Sera continued "It has come to our attention that an alarming amount of shipments of angelic steel have started…..disappearing…."

Vaggie interjected "What do you mean disappearing?"

"We are not sure "Sera answered "But we have our suspicions. We believe somebody on the inside might be smuggling them into hell, all tho any investigations on our end has yielded no results. We keep hitting a dead end"

Emily would add "This is very concerning, not only due to angelic steel being deadly to sinners, but also now that we know it is harmful to angels as well, this is a threat for both heaven and hell"

"Indeed" Sera spoke "The small amounts that were left behind before, after the exterminations, in the form of weapons were negligible, but the shipments that have started going missing are…of concerning amounts. These are not spears and axes varying in steel quality, we're talking PURE, refined ingots"

Lucifer spoke up "This is dire indeed….as ruler of hell, I'll do everything within my power to get to the bottom of this. Any findings shall be reported back to heaven immediately. However, that does mean we expect the same courtesy from you, Sera"

Charlie gave nod "Me and Vaggie as well. We'll do whatever we can to bring this to light"

The high seraphim nodded "Of course, together, we will get to the bottom of this"

It wasn't long after this concerning last news that the meeting came to an end and the 3 of them were once again standing outside the embassy as Lucifer approached his daughter

"Charlie, you think you can possibly get the overlords together for a meeting? We're going to need all the help we can get"

Charlie nodded "I'm sure Alastor can pull some strings" which made the king of hell wince "Ah yes….the "bellhop"…"

Vaggie added "Well I'm pretty sure I can get Carmille Carmine on board, not to mention, we also got Ashley, who is now a powerful overlord in her own right. she'll most likely be all in"

Lucifer would add "And what about that shorter woman? The one with the temper who arrived a few weeks ago. Wasn't she an overlord too? What was her name again? Velvette?"

The 2 women would look at each other, slightly uncomfortable "Uhm…oh yes….her…."
