After minutes of grueling trouble, Infinite and the Avatar finally destroyed all the monstrous copies, and went hi-five.
"Hmph. Just my sets." Infinite scoffed. "Now, let return to those who needs us right now."
Both flew back to follow the rest of Team Superstar, who's walking by walls separating the castle from much of the island.
"With our prowess and state restored, we got so much better." Zavok chuckled. "Dark Queen, why are you a short-hair renegade in mini-drags with robotic lower half and the scabbard strapped in your leg?"
"I told you, I sustained grievous injuries, my clothes torn apart by the impact, and the scabbard kept me alive." Merlina rebuffed. "Then my friends, who're with us, helped rebuilt me. I'm now in the run, technically speaking."
"Young, brash girl." Master Zik called Merlina. "What do you want me to teach you?"
"Master, we're here to save the multiverse." Merlina replied, wording in a way that's the least offensive she can get.
"Well, the entrance must be around..." Sonic then suddenly spotted Mega Man, Marine the Raccoon and Alex Kidd arrived. "Huh?"
"We're Mega Man, Alex Kidding, and there's me, Marine!" Marine called. "We've just escaped Shatter the Hedgehog and his goons!"
"I'm not sure if you remember me, Sonic, but then again, I at first don't remember anything involving your world... until Shatter caught me." Mega Man explained. "Chaos Emerald gave me Super Armor. I used Chaos Control to fix Super Genesis Wave., oh, so much more I want to tell you..."
Mega Man then told Sonic about his experiences with a Blue Blur from a lost timeline.
"Wait... me from a lost timeline?" Sonic caught on. "Wait, so a version of me worked together with you, against that version's Eggman and Dr. Willy?"
"The timeline is lost because a certain lawsuit ended up reverbating across the so-called Divine Continuum and chipped away the timeline." Mega Man replied. "According to some CXA and Shatter himself, that is."
"CXA? Wait... you calling the mysterious hedgehog 'Shatter'." Sonic is confused.
"I now know the lost timeline is what attracted the other multiverses into here." Mega Man added. "Furthermore, it appears the CXA I heard knows about the lost timeline, which is how I also heard the fact."
"The most confusing shit I've ever heard, Mega." Sonic shrugged.
"Who are these?" Infinite came back, along with the Avatar.
"Mega Man, Alex Kidd, and Marine." Shadow revealed.
Mega Man then recapped everything about the lost timeline to the entire team, as a spread of awareness.
"You also know the Genesis Wave can be dealt with by the Chaos Control. Even Super ones." Marine added. "However, the Hyper Genesis Wave which happened two weeks ago cannot be dealt with by Chaos Control alone. In fact, Chaos Control now only protect those in vicinity from the initial Wave itself."
"You's need the seven Super Emeralds, the Jeweled Scepter, the Master Emerald, the seven World Rings, the overclocked Phantom Ruby, and the Paradox Prism." Mega Man revealed.
"We are missing nine ingredients? Seven of them on our possession now!?" The Zeti is shocked.
"And he uses devices based on Chaos Council's technology to make the Hyper Genesis Wave possible." Alex Kidd added.
"He assimilated the Chaos Council that we dealt with!?" Nine, Rebel Rouge and Renegade Knucks are baffled.
"Most likely." Mega Man suggested.
"Ah, I knew it." Rusty facepalmed.
"Also, where's my Rouge? And Omega E-123?" Shadow asked.
"And Cream, and friends?" Amy asked.
"Where's Orbot and Cubot?" Eggman asked.
"Where did our friends go?" Boom!Sonic and Prime!Rouge in unison.
"They're all inside the castle." Mega Man revealed. "But first, go to our secret camp, which is underground and... yeah."
The team followed the three to the underground camp near the castle.
"This place is our base. Hidden in plain sight." Mega Man introduced these. "And here... meet our united army!"
"Who are you guys?" Team Superstar have no idea.
"Guys, this is another versions of Sonic. Replacing our late Blue Blur pal." Alex introduced the team to the unified army. "And he, they, all have a lot of allies to bring!"
"Who are you people? You're so strange!" Merlina is terrified.
"Worlds have collided again. For the past two weeks!" A man with... tachyon for the left eye, has greeted the team. "Destiny got me... across space-time. After 30 years of fighting against-"
"Who are you guys?" Shadow have no idea.
"I am Alexander Payne... of the X Foundation. After a freak shattering of worlds... my past self rescued me." The elder introduced himself. "You can find him at the war room. As for me... two weeks ago, I got caught by a hedgehog named 'Shatter', and that hedgehog did a ritual... which caused the Hyper Genesis Wave."
"And the timestreams are crushed. Worlds collided again, and this time... we were in the mercy." Mega Man X added. "Thankfully, Dr. Light rebuilt us, and went on to get back to our allies, both old and new. The Hyper Genesis Wave attracted worlds and brought us into this place... Shattered Mobius."
"I met a previois version of you because Dr. Eggman and Dr. Wily tried to take over our worlds." Mega Man explained to Sonic. "We fought each other, but soon we figured things out and took the fight to some pocket dimension."
"And... you armored a super-state of sorts as you and other me used the Chaos Emeralds." Sonic pointed it out.
"We saved the worlds twice. Third times' the charm now." Mega Man then gave Sonic a set of Sonic the Hedgehog/Mega Man comics, World Collide, Worlds Unite and Worlds Unite Battle. "These comics brought us back the memories. Our other friends will help you as you read."
Team Superstar met up with the others, and read the comics up until night. After finishing the Mega Man issue #52, Mr. X provided the last 3 issues of the Archie run of Mega Man for a refresher.
"It's nighttime, and we've finished it. And what... up with the 3rd collide?" Sonic wondered.
"Thank you... other me?" Stick finally met her Boom counterpart after reading the comics. "Hi. I'm Sticks!"
"You, the badger? Other me?" Boom!Sticks chuckled. "Can't believe the worlds aren't just unified... timelines are!"
"Yes." Prime!Rouge drops the comics. "Nice to meet you."
"No Genesis Portal this time." X noted. "I, Zero, Axl and the hunters, after the shattering, ran into these comics, which was why we regained our memories in the first place. It also allowed to recruit all our unified allies, both old and new. And we got to even recruit... the man twice."
"Yeah... This place is alienating. Thanks goodness you used a jail cell." Xander commented.
"Right. And... wait, aren't-" X noticed the Zeti.
"I told you, neither was from that world of other me. But, well..." Sonic then called Boom!Sonic and the Zeti. "Hey, scarf me and Zeti of Lost Hex!"
"Sticks!" Boom!Sonic hugged his Sticks. "Finally! I finally found a survivor!"
"Sonic!" Boom!Sticks cried. "I thought you're...'
"We are so sorry for our counterparts' meddlings." Zavok bowed down.
"It's fine. We staved off your counterparts' acts." Mega Man in response.
"Prepare for war. Because we're going to go against Shatter." Alex Kidd called the rest. "We will kill the evil hedgehog. Liberate our worlds!"
Somewhere else entirely...
"Uh huh." A sage fox girl with yellow tails responded. "Miss System, do you have anything else about the so-called Shattered Mobius?"
"All I saw that day was the remains of an expired timeline merged with its counterparts, and then some. Some excessive Genesis Wave stunned me, and my Keystones was in the frits. Cue a few days of outage and maintenance." A machine with a feminine echo. "Once I woke up, I realized what happened: A hedgehog impersonator tried to kill a crew. The original Blue Blur and co. even lost some lives, and all the survivors were patched up. At the same time, worlds previously connected, and then some, bled out and brought those former potential candidates of mine."
"What did you see in the Shattered?" The fox girl's partner asked. "I'll take the hedgehog under consideration. Just tell us what have you seen at the time."
"Reiji Arisu, good question! A bunch of invisible Genesis Portals spawned, and with that the evil hedgehog managed to snatch away multiversal stuffs and begin pissing off his own reality! He even plans to use these holes of reality - as in, false Cross Gates - to invade a bunch of multiverses, some of which I actively checked as a machine. Among the involved are some unified army from connected worlds and co., some Suicide Squad, some spilled emanations and some stuffs straight from voids between worlds! All of them and more, fell down to the poor man's Battleworld!" The machine continued. "And speaking of which, the evil impersonator hedgehog is the one behind all the weirdness I was two weeks ago! He look and sound like the real blue hedgehog you were used to! Now he's abusing his things, especially the Phantom Ruby and the Paradox Prism, to invade a bunch of multiverses as we speak! In one moment, your world will fall victim to his sadism before we even realize it. That's why recently, the Blue Blur brought his allies and co. to the same but extended unified army the lost versions of the former to work together to save the multiverses! Talk about the crossing fates when you least expect the unexpected!"
The two nodded at the machine. "Is this worthy of allying with our nemesis, the Ouma?"
"Oh, right! Shinra, that's good!" The machine laughed. "Do you have any allies who would want to fight an evil hedgehog who look and sound just like the real deal, and save all possibilities!"
"Oh, definitely." The fox girl accepted. "Let us call Ouma and Oros Phlox then."
Day 15, back in Shattered Mobius...
"Sigma Virus... The Unity Engines... I can do better." The mysterious hedgehog is engineering. "Tails, help me out with this."
The brainwashed President Miles lent a hand with the manufacturing. Soon enough, the functions of the Unity Engine is integrated into Sigma Virus, thanks to the Phantom Ruby supercharging the Master Engine, and the Paradox Prism frying the otherwise-powerless (for this world) Infinity Stones.
"Unity Engine, integrated." Miles reported. "Sigma Virus can not sap on worlds not yet crushed. We won't need to install the individual engines again."
"It's a marvelous combination of magic-like technological advancements and unshackled and unbound magical phenomenons!" The hedgehog chuckled. "With the genius of the Eggmen I got, and the power of the Phantom Ruby and Paradox Prism combined, there's nothing I can't do."
"Those Infinity Stones don't normally exhibit any power when they're outside of their respective worlds and timelines." The tribal (Knuckles?) explained. "Glad it's still recycled, Sonic."
"Taken from a page of the funny Ultron-Sigma." The hedgehog then took the Jeweled Scepter. "Have you connected the Master Engine to the Master Emerald?"
"Yes, I already have." Miles confirmed. "The Master Emerald with its near-infinite energy actually boost the output-"
"Whoever you hedgehog is, we finally spotted your cause." A booming voice rang onto the castle. "You are crushing the continuity of your worlds, and the resulting damage is collapsing other multiverses! You are endangering the divine continuum!"
The three ignored the voice, considering it an annoyance.
"This is not a drill. This is serious. You are shattering continuity, endangering several multiverses." The voice continued. "Now that we've cleared the noise you created and located your coordinate, surrender or we will bring reinforcements from multiverses beyond!"
"Nah." The hedgehog muted the voice with the Phantom Ruby effect.
At the same time...
"Five times you?" Tails is surprised. "I thought there's only the... third?"
"What? Five games are too much from us?" It was Ryu-5, the "1/8192' guy, hanging out.
"We've put even different versions of the similar beings as well. We needed all the help we can get." X pointed at Ryu-3, Nina-4 and then Nina-5. "You'll get used to all those Wyndian girls as you fight Shatter's forces."
"We meet again, Interpol!" Boom!Sticks fiddles in front of Chun-Li. "The superior Team Sticks!"
"Yo! Look! After the case of O.R.A.C..." Luke Sullivan called.
"O.R.A.C.? What?" Tails have no idea.
"One Reincarnated Army Corps. It's a very long story." Luke bluffed. "Some reincarnated into villainess helping to expose a threat to all existence. I've been there before. I've even stuck in C-Street before they found me."
"C-Street?" Ryu, the World Fighter, heard it. "You mean Princess Charlotte saving you and helping us?"
"Most of us don't remember the last great omniversal war. The O.R.A.C. story gave us an idea of whatever happened." Stella, Alex's companion, added. "But before we got here, we heard the rumors about Shatter and an evil king on revenge."
"Shatter the evil hedgehog broke our worlds." Astaroth added.
"Multiverses being torn asunder..." Vyse of the Blue Rogues recalled.
"We were adrift into ze unknown..." JP (the Psycho Power man) added.
"Vistors! The sky's glitching!" NiGHTS reported.
"The mysterious hedgehog did it again." Issun facepalmed.
"Call the hunters! We are emerging from the grounds, it's time to-" Then Billy Hatcher noticed.
An earthquake is crumbling the base down.
"Everyone evacuate!" Keil Fluge then rides on the blue dragon, and flew.
"RUN!" Ryu-5 took off and D-Dived out.
The Golden Axe trio rushed out of the dorms.
"JOE! Get out, the base is falling down!" Boom!Sonic warned Viewtiful Joe.
Everyone escaped the base, which crumbled down and crush all that's not taken.
"All our miscanellous stuffs other than systems and comics... gone." Momo sighed.
"Who crushed our base?" Guile, Reala, Sexy Silvie, Gilius Thunderhead and Firebrand looked around.
