Oogi flew swiftly towards Zaheer's prison. Tenzin wasn't sure what he was going to find, but something about the situation just felt wrong. First Korra goes missing. No body, no signs she ever existed nothing, like she just vanished. Then Kuvira having a seizure and making odd claims. Now the prison of one of the most dangerous people being attacked, something was going on and he didn't know what or why.

Two possibilities came to mind, the Red Lotus trying to finish what they started or the Earth Empire looking for revenge. But neither made any sense, nor did he see any evidence of them making any kind of move. From the interrogation of Red Lotus members showed that they were largely few in number with even less to call on than who they had the first time they tried to capture Korra. So, it was unlikely going to be them. They needed strength and with their actions out in daylight, they weren't given a favourable look.

It was best for them if they stayed in the shadows for now. Leaving the second possibility, the Earth Empire. But even that was questionable. Aside from their surrender, why would they release the man who caused the mess that they were in? They were in a problematic situation as it is without someone trying to move and take out their leaders. Which left… who? The triads? They tended to stay in Republic city. Bandits? Even they knew to stay away from White Lotus Guards.

What Kuvira said about letting something in with it being hungry came to mind. The most obvious thought was that she was talking about a spirit. Some of the eviller ones, like Koh, ate human souls. But that didn't explain the seizure or Korra's disappearance. Something else was going but, what? He wasn't sure as nothing added up to the conclusions he had. With a sigh he wished that his father was still around so that he could ask for advice. Maybe Zuko or his mother had an idea? They had more experience with this kind of thing.

Looking up he could see the prison approaching and began to direct his bison towards the prison. During his decent he noticed that there were no guards waiting at the end of the bridge or at the gates. Eyes widening, he moved the reigns to get Oogi to move quickly down to the platform and land. A soon as the bison touched down, he jumped off and ran towards the prison itself ignoring how the entrance was cut.

He entered the main cell and looked around with a sigh. None of them were dead, but they were knocked out, that was something. Looking around he could see one of the guards trying to get up. Quickly, he moved over to help him up

"Here let me help up," he said helping the guard up. "What happened?" he asked but the guard didn't respond immediately as he looked around.

"Wh…" he muttered before looking up. "Master Tenzin?"

"I'm here, what happened?" the airbending master said calmly.

"I don't…." the guard tried as he moved forward to sit on a ledge with Tenzin helping him. "We… we were infiltrated," he managed to say. "She didn't do anything at first, not until the captain called her out. I… I don…" he rubbed his head trying to get his words right.

"She must have done a number on you," Tenzin muttered as he got a canteen and handed it to the guard.

He took it and took a quick swig. "She… she fought like nothing I've seen before. Like… like she wasn't used to her powers but could still use them with.. with…." he paused as he took another drink. "With some form of skill,"

"Was she Red Lotus? Or Earth Empire?" the airbender asked.

"No, no she wasn't," a new voice called out.

The two looked to see another one of the Guards stand. Tenzin was about to help, but he managed to get up without much problem and walk over to them before sitting down next to the first guard who offered him the canteen. The second guard muttered thanks and took a drink from it as well. The airbender master waited while the second drink before he spoke.

"So, the attacker wasn't Red Lotus or Earth Empire?" he asked.

"No," the second guard said. "She… she did have a killing intent, like that of a soldier, but he's was different somehow. Controlled, measured, as if she didn't want to kill but would of, if she had to," he took a drink. "But… but that wasn't the strangest thing…" that cased Tenzin to blink and the first guard to nod.

"She primarily bent earth, but she also bent fire," he added but noticed Tenzin's wide hopeful look causing him to hold up his hand. "It wasn't' Korra," he said dashing the hopes of the air nomad. "She was too old, had lighter skin and red hair,"

That got Tenzin's attention. "Red hair?" he asked and the guards nodded. "Red hair that looked like it was on fire and piercing green eyes?"

That made the second guard blink. "How did you know that?" he asked, unable to hide the surprise in his voice.

Tenzin stood stroking his goatee. "Something that someone said, and I think this attacker maybe important," looking up he then noticed a pool of a glowing blue liquid. "What's that?" he asked pointing at the pool.

"Whatever you do don't touch it," the second guard said as he stood. "That's, that's what she said anyway. She said, not to let anyone touch it even if I have to cut their hand off. She didn't say why though,"

Tenzin only nodded as more of the White Lotus guards got up. He helped them up and got the same story about the attacker. Red hair, green eyes, a sense that she was new to her bending abilities and the fact that's she might be the new avatar. But as the guards pointed out that didn't make sense due to her age. It didn't add up. Something was going on; he just wasn't sure what.

"Captain, do you have a radio to Republic city?" he asked.

Lee nodded. "Let me show you," he stood and escorted the air bending master outside.

OOOOO

Kuvira groaned as she slowly awoke to find herself in a room with, much to her surprise, Asami, Varrick and Batar JR standing next to a couple of machines that seemed to be hooked up to her. As she sat up, a piercing pain shoot though her causing her to yell out. It felt like a fire was covering her mind in searing hot. Asami moved to try and help but the pain quickly vanished. She rubbed her head as she began to fully wake up.

"W..what…" she tried but the looks on the two scientists spoke volumes. Their eyes were wide with what they were reading.

"Thi…this is…" Batar muttered.

"Did it spike?" Asami asked as she stood and moved over to look at the reading only to share the same look at the other two. "Spirits… it did…"

With another rub of the head Kuvira groaned. "What did?" she asked in a pained toned.

The three looked do each other before Varrick moved over to a door at the other end of the room. "Chief, could you come in here for a minute," he said.

Li Beifong just walked in and nodded towards Kuriva. "How are you holding up?" she asked.

"My head feels like it's going to split in two," the former leader muttered.

"I'm not surprised. Whatever you have in the back of your head is causing that," Lin replied.

"I don't think it is," Asami said as she looked at the readings. "If I'm reading this right, that thing looks like to be some kind of stabilisation agent,"

Lin and Kuvira looked at each other while the three scientist and engineers looked at the readings. "This is almost like spirit vine energy, but more powerful," Batar muttered earning shocked looks from the two eathbenders in the room.

"That and it's permeated though her body," Varrick added. "Like… like… ugh I don't know… Zhu-li would know but she's getting ready for our wedding,"

"What are you three saying?" Kuvira asked and Batar turned causing her to look away from the guilt.

Batar sighed. "That's the thing… we don't know. This… whatever this is… is more powerful than the spirit vines, more powerful than the steam or combustion engines that we use," he looked to the machines. "It's an energy source that we have never seen before,"

"Is there any way to remove it?" she asks. "The energy and… stabilisation agent?"

"No," Lin said in a matter-of-fact tone. "That device is fitted to the best of your skull. Where your nerve centre is and the base of your skull… removing it would cause major and permanent brain damage," the Chief of Police explained. "At least… that's what Kya and Katara told me,"

Kuvira nodded as she reached up and rubbed the base of the back of her head. Sure enough, the device was still there. It didn't itch, it didn't do anything. It was just odd feeling something there that shouldn't be. The question of why and how soon entered her mind. How did the device get attached to her neck? Why did she get it? What was it for? But one question stood out. Did this have anything to do with what she saw? With Korra's disappearance?

Beep beep beep.

Kuvira snapped out of her thoughts and looked up to see Asami holding up one of Batar's spirit energy detectors. But her confused look spoke volumes.

"Something's wrong, isn't it?" she asked.

Asami said nothing as she handed the former leader a piece of metal. Kurvia looked up with confusion at the engineer as did the others.

"Bend it," was all Asami said.

Kuvira looked to Lin then the other two before back at Asami then to the piece of metal in her hand. Focusing her chi towards the piece of metal, manipulating the imperfections in the metal to get it to bend. As it did, something else began to appear. Lines of blue light cracked though the metal like a web. As soon as she saw it Kuvira stopped bending and looked at the odd anomaly.

"What in spirits name?" she muttered but Asami just stared at it.

"I've seen that before…" she said. "At the park, where you and Korra fought, there was something like that in the floor,"

"What is it?" Lin asked but was met with silence and groaned in annoyance. "I also assume that you want to investigate the park?"

Asami shrugged. "It may help to find out what is going on here,"

"I agree, I'll come to," Varrick said before looking to his former partner. "Batar, you need to stay here,"

The scientist looked from Varrick to the woman who he was going to marry. His mouth opened about to speak before it closed and nodded, remembering the deal he made to be transferred here. But the tension between the two was palpable. Lin sighed and rubbed her head.

"Fine, I'll get an airship here," she said before leaving.

"We better ger ready," Asami said and Varrick nodded.

OOOOO

"Wow," Korra muttered as she stepped out onto an alien planet for the first time and looking out at what seemed to be the endless expanse of grass. "This so cool, damn everyone is going to be jealous,"

"Is she going to be like this the whole mission?" Tali asked with an unimpressed tone as she, Garrus and Samara climbed out of the Kodiak.

"I find it refreshing to see this kind of enthusiasm, "Samara said as the dropship took off and the team moved to join Korra.

"This looks like so much like my world," the avatar muttered.

"I hear that coming from humans all the time," Garrus muttered. "I'm still not sure why,"

"Maybe because you never been to earth?" Tali asked as she activated her omni-tool. "First objective is…" she pointed with Korra in the same direction.

"That way," the two said in unison.

Korra just smiled while Tali rolled her eyes. "Let's go," Garrus said leading the way.

As they did Korra couldn't help but feel something was wrong about the area. But for now she ignored it and followed the group.
