"So, View! Yang called out to their spectral host. "What world is next?"
I'd figured we take another look at the world of Spider-Man." View says while holding up its orb up for them to see.
"Oh that's good," Ruby said with a small smile. "I really wanna see what happens next with Jaune and the others."
"Indeed." Ozpin nodded in agreement. "Especially the Demons and their goals."
"Hopefully, Jaune and Pyrrha can wok together to stop them." Glynda said.
"If they can work out their issues." Qrow mutters.
"Me too." Pyrrha said with a hopeful tone, giving off a sad look of how their last conversation ended.
"Well then, let's get started and see how things turn out for them, shall we?" View says as he tosses in the orb and the audience sat down and watched the screen lit up.
The screen opens up where it last left off, with Jaune in the Lab with Ozpin as they worked on their project. "Oh, Jaune, before I forget. I read the most fascinating article. Outlines possible next steps for neutral interface." Ozpin said.
"I'll take a look, thanks Doc." Jaune said as he walked over to Ozpin's office to see what he was talking about.
He went inside and saw the magazine Ozpin was referring to. "Direct interface with basal ganglia." Jaune said, impressed. "Exciting…but risky." Jaune then spoke out to his mentor. "I don't know Doc. You'd need a gallium silk-array to make it work. Even then, odds of injury are pretty high."
"Gallium! Genius!" Ozpin exclaims. "Never mind the risk, we'll work them out in time!"
"Hmm," Penny hummed with a look of worry. "Given a project of this importance, I do not think negating the risks would be logical."
"I'm sure my counterpart will go through the proper procedures." Ozpin says as he looks at his counterpart. "At least I hope he will."
"Ah, I wouldn't worry about it too much." Qrow waved off. "You're always the logical one, oz."
"Yes, but as we've seen since in this world, my counterpart has a grudge against Jacques, and I worry it may lead him down a bad path."
Jaune sighs until his attention is diverted to something on the wall of Ozpin's office. There were several pictures and scans of his brain.
"Doc's really sick." Jaune said with concern as he looked at the images. "At this rate he'll lose control of his motor functions within a year. And if we're not careful, an intracranial implant could make things even worse. Even alter his personality. We need to proceed carefully." Jaune thought to himself.
"Hopefully, he and Jaune can work it through together." Ruby said. "Maybe then, Professor Ozpin will be okay."
"I hope so too, Ruby." Weiss said in agreement of her partner.
Jaune exited out of the lab when he got a text from Glynda, asking him if he's coming by the shelter today.
"Umm. Doc, I'm sorry. My, um, Aunt just texted…" Jaune was about to explain.
"No worries, Jaune." Ozpin assured. "I was thinking of taking a break myself." Ozpin said as he continued looking over his arms. "As soon as I check our telemetry data."
"I wonder how Miss Goodwitch is doing." Pyrrha said with a look of concern. "Can't imagine it would be easy running a whole shelter by herself."
"Especially since her boss is a crazy psychopath." Coco said.
"I appreciate the concern, students." Glynda said, gaining their attention as they looked up at their teacher. "But I assure you, I'm sure my counterpart is more than capable of handling things."
"No more than usual..." Tai mutters.
"Thanks." Jaune thanked as he headed towards the door. "I'll be back in a few hours." Jaune said as he exited the room as Ozpin continued to do his work.
The screen cuts to Jaune in his Spider-Man persona, just outside of the building as he leaped up on top of the building and proceeded to web swing his way to the FEAST Shelter. As he was swinging, he called up Glynda. "Hi, Glynda." Jaune greeted.
"Let me guess, running late?" Glynda asked, as if already knowing the answer.
"Nope, I'm actually on my way now." Jaune said. "Have you heard from Oscar?"
"No, but his mother said he was coming so…"
"Good." Jaune said. "I'll be there soon. Bye" Jaune assured as he hung up and picked up the pace on his web swinging.
"Do you think he's doing okay?" Velvet asked with a look of concern.
"I can't imagine what he's going through is easy." Blake said with a sympathetic tone. "Can't imagine what losing a family member would be like."
Ren then chimed in. "So long he has people to love and support him, he should be alright, trust me." Ren said as Nora smiled at her partner as she held his hand.
Spider-Man continued to make his way to the shelter, but caught his attention, something happening down below in a nearby alleyway. In the alleyway, he could see Oscar getting harassed by a couple of thugs in masks.
"Oscar?" Kali said with a look of worry.
"And it looks like he's in trouble." Sun said with a serious glare at the people he was with.
"In a few moments, those guys are gonna be the ones in trouble." Yang said with a frown.
"What are you doing here?" One of them asked as he pushed Oscar to the ground.
Oscar tried to get himself back up after that as the thug looked on in amusement. He went in to kick Oscar down, until Oscar caught his leg and pushed him back.
Tai winced. "Good effort. But the kid clearly needs some form of defense training."
"Yes," Winter said in agreement. "Rushing in blindly while most likely get you killed."
"Ooh! We got a fighter." The other punk said in amusement as Oscar tackled his attacker to the ground and tried to punch him with little power in them.
"Pfft, I yeah bet they think they're real tough, picking on a defenseless kid." Yang scoffed while scowling at the thugs.
The other thug grabbed Oscar off him and threw him to a wall as the two thugs loomed over him.
"You just made your last mistake, punk." The criminal said in a threatening tone as his comrade was suddenly hoisted up in the air by a pair of web lines, causing him to turn at this.
"Yeah, it looks to me you guys got it the other way around." Sun said with a smirk.
"Knock their asses to the curb, Jaune!" Nora shouted out in support.
"What the!?" The criminal exclaimed as he saw his partner suddenly on the ground. Before he could question it, he was suddenly hoisted up by another pair of webs.
Spider-Man landed onto the ground, while on top of the knocked out criminal as he looked up to see more goons coming in. "Does it seriously take this many guys to rob a teenager?" Spider-Man asks with a clear disapproval in his tone.
"It sounds like some people need a lesson in manners." Coco said with a smirk.
He quickly webbed onto a nearby manhole cover and began swinging it around, knocking over the rest of the goons to the ground. He built up speed and momentum as he then threw it at one of the thugs getting back up. One thug tried hitting him with a crowbar, but Spidey just slid under past him and right behind him, knocking him right onto one of the nearby criminals.
"Nice so far." Tai said.
"Then again, it's probably a nice change from the Demons." Ruby said. "Nice to see Jaune hasn't forgotten about the other criminals."
"Yeah, less he proves Junior right." Yang mutters in annoyance at the thought of the former crime lord.
He then used one of his gadgets on one of the goons that spouted a web line onto a nearby goon, causing the two to launch towards each other and end up on the ground, webbed up.
"Very impressive move" Penny complimented.
He sent a flow of hits and kicks onto one criminal, eventually kicking him right onto a nearby power box, shocking the man into unconsciousness. Then, to finish things off, he webbed the last goon in the face and pulled him onto the ground harshly, knocking him out. Spidey looked around to see that all of them were dealt with. He then walked over to Oscar to see if he was alright.
"And that takes care of those jackasses." Coco grinned.
"Hopefully that Oscar kid will be okay." Sun said.
"You hurt?" Spidey asked as he reached out a hand to Oscar, who looked up in awe at his idol who just saved him. He eagerly took his hand as he helped him back up.
"Y-your Spider-Man!" Oscar said with excitement in his tone as he eagerly shook his hand. "Y-your the amazing Spider-Man! Y-Your…The Spectacular Spider-Man!" Oscar rambled, barely containing his excitement and joy.
"Kinda like how Weiss met Pyrrha." Yang remarked.
Weiss sent her teammate an annoyed look and crossed her arms. "I'll have you know I was nothing but respectful towards Pyrrha when we met!" Weiss said. "Isn't that right?"
"O-Oh, yes, of course." Pyrrha kindly and a bit nervously said. "Though it was clear that you had other motives in mind." Pyrrha thought to herself.
"And a few other choice adjectives Jameson uses." Spider-Man chuckles at the kids' excitement. "Look, that was really brave, but next time leave the fighting to the pros, OK?" Spidey said as he went to leave.
"OK. but what if there aren't any around?" Oscar asked, causing Spider-Man to pause.
"That is a good question." Penny said. "The city is very huge and Friend Jaune can't be everywhere at once."
"That is a good point Penny." Winter said in agreement. "It couldn't hurt to take up some self defense courses."
"Yeah, it's kinda like Ruby without her weapon." Yang said, causing Ruby to look at her sister with an incredulous look.
"Hey!" Ruby cried out.
"She does have a point, sweetie." Her father, Tai said. "You do seem to heavily rely on your weapon."
Ruby pouted as she crossed their arms, unable to argue against their claims.
He turned around to Oscar. "Well, you can't just go swinging at someone twice your size." Spider-Man said. "I mean, don't get me wrong, I fight guys stronger than me all the time. But, when I do it, I hav-"
Oscar suddenly spoke before he could finish. "Oh! Like that time you fought Rhino on the Brooklyn Bridge? That was so awesome!"
"Rhino?" Ilia said with a raised brow.
"Oh yeah, that jerkish guy from the party." Sun remembered.
"He's a lot more intimidating in person." View said.
"Perfect example." Spidey said. "If the other guy's bigger, you gotta be quicker. Okay?" Spider-Man spoke as he went to leave once more, but Oscar spoke up again.
"Sound advice." Ozpin said.
"O-Okay, but that's…That's easy for you to say! Sorry, I just can't do what you do." Oscar said a little dejectedly.
This caused Spider-Man to stop in his tracks and think on his words. After considering it, He turned back around to face Oscar. "Alright, put 'em up." Spidey instructed.
"Seriously?" Oscar asked in disbelief.
"Yeah, come on." Spider-Man insisted in a serious tone as he gestured Oscar as he got into an defensive position.
"Man, does this bring back memories." Tai said, fondly, remembering when he taught Yang the basics.
"Yeah. Simpler days." Qrow nodded.
Oscar sighs, believing it to be pointless for him, but went along with it as he walked close to Spidey and raised his fists up.
"First thing…Don't let the adrenaline get to you." Spidey advised. "Breathe slow," Spidey said as did so himself. "Breathe deep, relax." Spidey said calmly. "Hips square to your opponent," Spidey said as Oscar followed what he said. "Let them make the first move."
Pyrrha couldn't help but smile in pride of her partner. It reminded her of when she taught Jaune the first steps of fighting. And now here he was, helping someone else in need. She couldn't help but be proud of him of how he was helping someone.
"Now use your feet…" Spidey said as Oscar shifted his stance. "And when they go off balance look for an opening." Spidey said as he helped stimulate the movement. "Boom."
Winter watched with an interested look. "Very good." Winter complimented. "Mr Arc really does know his basics."
"While not quite like his counterpart here, he has steadily improved more than most of the students in Beacon." Ozpin said. "He's well on his way to becoming the best among them."
"Like that?" Oscar asks.
"Yeah. Yeah, that's it." Jaune said with growing pride. "Okay! Now only this time, just let me have it." Spidey encouraged as Oscar hyped himself up. "Right on the jaw, okay!? I can take it-" Spidey said as Oscar went straight in, punching him in the jaw as he recoiled back in slight pain.
The audience winced at the sight of Jaune getting punched like that.
"Oh sh-" Oscar hushed, worried he might've hurt him as Spidey held his jaw. "S-Sorry." Oscar apologized.
"Damn!" Yang winced. "That's a hell of a hook."
"He's fine." Nora said. "He's handled way worse.
"In this world, probably." Blake said in agreement.
"No, no, no, it's all good." Spidey assured as he chuckled. "You keep that up and uh… You'll be fine." Spidey said with a smirk under his mask.
"All right, lessons are over. Gotta go!" Spider-Man said as he turned away.
"Hey, uh," Oscar said, causing Spider-Man to stop once more. "Thanks. Y'know…" Oscar said with sincerity.
"Anytime." Spidey said as he spouted off a web and flung himself into the city as Oscar watched on in awe.
"That was pretty nice of him." Velvet smiled.
"It was." Yang nodded in agreement.
"It's part of what makes Jaune...well, Jaune." Pyrrha smiled. "Always there to help people."
Oscar looked down at his fist and smiled. "I just punched Spider-Man." Oscar chuckled to himself and winced slightly at his hurt fist.
"Probably not something you wanna brag about." Ren said.
Oscar walked out of the ally to make his way to FEAST. "The shelter should be just ahead." Oscar said as he made his way there.
As he was walking, he decided to call his friend to let him know what happened. "Yo Oscar, what's up?"
"Bro, you're not gonna believe this, I just met Spider-Man!" Oscar said with excitement.
"What?! That's crazy! Hey, did you show him our hacking app?" His friend asks.
"Oh man!" Oscar groans in realization. "I totally forgot!"
"You suck!" His friend cursed. "He totally would have bought it off you. And then we'd be like famous!"
"It's not like Jaune has a lot of money on him to begin with." Yang said.
"Yeah, I'll show him next time." Oscar assured. "I gotta go, promised my mom I wouldn't be late."
"Cool, later." His friend said as the call went off and Oscar continued to make his way to the FEAST Shelter. He eventually made his way to a Sable Checkpoint station.
"Everyone have their ID's out and ready for inspection." A Sable agent spoke out.
Oscar walked through into the barrier and saw the line and the agents inspecting the civilians. "You gotta be kidding me. This is gonna take forever."
"What's the point of these check stations?" Ruby questions.
"They're probably used to checking for the Demons maybe." Weiss suggested.
"I don't really see the logic behind it." Penny said.
"Yes, neither do I." Winter said as she looked at the screen with a steely expression.
Oscar then saw a nearby drone hovering near him. An idea began forming in his head. "If that drone wasn't watching. I could jump the fence."
Oscar then pulled out his phone and began to use his hacking app. "Just need to isolate the drone's signal." Oscar mutters to himself as he manages to blind its sensors. "Wow, that was too easy!" Oscar said as he jumped over the barrier and quickly made his way to the other side.
"That was quite genius!" Penny complimented.
"Indeed." Ozpin said in agreement as he watched the boy with interest.
"I can't believe Sable systems are unsecured! Maybe I'll send an anonymous tip…" Oscar said as he made his way over a nearby crate where he hid from more Agents. "Okay, hacking app, don't fail me now." Oscar mutters as he uses the app to make a nearby sign post to short circuit, causing the nearby agents to divert their attention towards it.
The audience continued to watch with interest as they saw the young boy maneuver his way through the agents.
"Okay, time to move." Oscar said as he moved past them. He then stopped once he saw two different pathways.
"OK let's see- can go under the gate on the left or over the scaffolding to the right." Oscar said to himself as he looked back and forth between the two. He decided to go for the right path and climbed up piles of cement mix. "Hope the scaffolding will work." Oscar said to himself as he climbed up on top of it.
"That looks unsafe." Kali said with concern in her tone.
"It's a lot quicker." Nora shrugged.
"Is it really a necessary risk?" Terra asked.
"Better than dealing with the agents, that's for sure." Yang said.
He slowly walked only to find another drone hovering near where he needed to be. "More drones? Gotta blind them." Oscar said as he sneaked towards it to get in range of it. Once close enough, he managed to hack into it and disrupt it.
"Those things have mounted guns?!" Oscar exclaims once he saw the readings on the app. "Can't let them spot me." Oscar mutters as he quickly moves past it to get to the other side. He hid behind some crates to avoid another drone that was scanning the area in front of him. Using his app once more, Oscar blocked the sights of the drones and quickly made it past the cover he was in.
"Nighty-night." Oscar says as he keeps moving. "This would be so cool if it was less terrifying." Oscar said as he quickly made his way down on the ground below.
He quickly moved to not be spotted by the other agents and quickly jumped over a nearby wall and made it on the other side. "I'm in the clear!" Oscar sighs in relief. "Whew, that was intense!" Oscar panted as he could see FEAST just up ahead.
"That was a close one." Ruby sighed.
"Sure was." Yang said in agreement. "At least now he doesn't have to deal with those guys."
As he began walking to the center, he was getting a call from his phone. "Got a call," Oscar said as he checked the caller ID. "Oh, hey Mom." Oscar greeted.
"Hi honey, did you make it to the F.E.A.S.T, shelter okay?" His mother asked.
"Uh, yeah. Almost there." Oscar answered, hoping to avoid the subject of how he was nearly caught by agents.
"You don't have to work at that shelter, you know." His mother said.
"You said I did." Oscar reminded.
"No, I gave you a choice." His mother corrected.
"Yeah. And I chose this over more therapy. I mean it was helpful. The guy said everyone grieves in their own way. This is mine." Oscar said.
"Okay. I'm sorry…"
"Mom."
"Yeah."
"Just 'cause I don't want to talk about it doesn't mean I don't love you." Oscar sincerely said.
"Oh, honey... I love you so much." His mother said with love in her tone. "We'll get through this…"
Ruby smiled sadly at the sight. It was nice to see that Oscar still had someone in his life that was there for him. Like her with Yang, her father and Qrow.
Oscar smiled at this as he looked up to see himself at the front doors of FEAST. "I gotta go. I'll call you when I'm on my way home." Oscar said as he got off the phone and went inside of the building. Once inside he saw that Jaune person he met at his father's funeral talking with a man.
"Man, Jaune sure did get there quickly." Coco commented.
"Web swinging is a hell of a way to travel." Sun said. "Would be cool to swing like that."
"I wish I could do it." Ruby said.
"You'd probably need a lot of practice first, Ruby." Blake said.
"You know what, just keep breathing and I'll be back soon Mr. Hodges." Jaune advised as he walked towards Oscar. "Hey. Oscar! You made it!"
"Hey. Jaune." Oscar greeted as he took the blonde's hand. "Hey I'm sorry I'm late, man."
"Aw, no-no. I'm just glad you're here." Jaune said with a smile.
"Alright. So um. What can I do to help?" Oscar asked.
"Why don't you start just by getting comfortable with the place." Jaune suggested. "Meet a few people. You know what, everybody loves coffee." Jaune said as he gestured to the brew next to him.
"I know I do!" Nora said.
"No, Nora, not after last time." Ren said sternly.
"Aw, you're no fun!" Nora pouted as she crossed her arms.
Oscar nodded. "Coffee. Alright." Oscar said as he went to grab the pot.
"And I'll be back in a little while to check on you, is that cool?" Jaune asked.
"Yeah…" Oscar said as he looked at a man who appeared to be biting at the air.
"Oh, don't worry about Mr. Hodges. He doesn't bite. Much." Jaune lightly warned as he went off to sort some other matters out, leaving Oscar on his own.
"You sure...?" Oscar mutters as he went to tend the others. He came across a came trying to do a crossword puzzle. "Coffee?" Oscar offered.
The man glanced up briefly and nodded "Thanks." he said, more focused on his crossword.
"Need help?" Oscar offered.
"Not unless you know what the hell a quark is." The man said.
"It's a subatomic particle." Oscar answered. "You know, the budding block of protons, neutrons, hadrons…" Oscar listed off.
"Hmm, that is correct." Penny said, impressed.
"Very good." Ozpin complimented.
"Kid knows his stuff." Tai said.
"Subatomic." The man said as he wrote the answer down. "That fits! Good one, kid." The homeless man complimented.
Oscar smiles as he hears the sounds of another man nearby.
"...piece of junk…" A man muttered as Oscar looked up to see a disgruntled man banging on the TV. "Aw, hell! Damn hunk-a-junk…" The man cursed in frustration.
"You mind if I take a look?" Oscar offered his help.
"Eh?" The man turned to Oscar in confusion.
"We have a couple CRT's at school. I know how to fix these when they—" Oscar began to explain.
"CR-what? No, you just gotta smack it a couple times... get it goin'." The man grunted as he continued hitting the TV.
"Hey, not the sharpest mind." Coco said, prompting Velvet to nudge her leader.
"Be nice." Velvet chastised.
"Or... it could be a loose coax cable." Oscar suggested.
"Alright, alright. Be my guest, mister smarty-pants. Please, go ahead…" The gruff man conceded as he allowed Oscar to fix it.
Oscar went ahead to fix the TV by plugging in the wire and it did cause the TV to turn back on. But it displayed footage of his father's funeral.
"Tributes continue to pour in for Officer Jefferson Pine, the hero killed in the City Hall bombing," The woman on the TV spoke as Oscar's face fell. "as reports emerge that he used his own body to shield others in his last moments of life."
"Ah no..." Sun groans.
"It's probably the last thing Oscar needs to see right now." Pyrrha said with a sympathetic look.
"Hey, new kid." The man pointed at his cup, to which Oscar quickly refilled.
"Pine is survived by his wife Rio and son Oscar, as well as a brother, Aaron."
"Hero?" The man scoffed. "He didn't do nothing heroic except get himself blown up." The man scoffed as Oscar stood there, stunned.
"Dude, what the hell!" Yang said, her eyes changing to red.
"Yang, he doesn't know." Ruby tried to calm her sister down.
"That's still no excuse." Yang said.
"Yeah, not cool." Sun said in agreement.
Jaune suddenly came up to the two. "Hey Ernie, I see you've met Oscar." Jaune said, placing a hand on Oscar's shoulder before he could leave. "He's going to be helping out around here. You may have heard of his father— Jefferson Pine." Jaune said. "Pretty great that even though he's got a lot of stuff going on right now, he decided to come and volunteer. Don't you think?"
"Uh, yeah, yeah." Erine uttered, feelings of remorse coming through. "Thanks. Uh, listen kid, I'm sorry about your dad." Ernie apologizes.
"At least he apologized, not a lot of people would be willing to do so." Glynda said.
"I guess." Yang muttered, still angry over that comment.
"C'mon Oscar, let's see if Aunt Glynda needs a hand in the kitchen." Jaune said as he and Oscar walked to where she was.
Glynda, in the meantime, was preparing sandwiches to serve to the residents. "Hey Glynda." Jaune spoke as she turned to see her nephew. "I gotta take off, but, uh... I brought some help for you."
"Hi Oscar!" Glynda warmly greeted. "Nice to see you. Well, grab an apron, wash your hands, and I'll show you around."
Oscar smiled as he walked over to Glynda. He then looked to Jaune. "Hey Jaune? Thanks for that back there."
Jaune smiled in response and nodded. "Course." Jaune said as he left the kitchen.
"Do you think he'll do okay here?" Ruby asked.
"I think so." Pyrrha said.
"Yeah, with Glynda with him, I'm sure he'll get the support he needs." Ren said.
"Plus, she's a kickass lady!" Nora added.
Glynda would've reprimanded her for her language, but decided on this instance to let it go.
He looked at his watch to check for the time. "Almost noon... Winter should be moving Dr. Michaels. Better get to the Bowery and locate him…" Jaune said as he hurriedly made his way out of the building and made sure things wouldn't go wrong.
The screen changed to Jaune in his Spider-Man suit, jumping off of the building and began swinging his way through the city. While swinging, he called up Blake.
"Hey Blake, I'm heading to the Bowery to make sure Michaels gets to his new safehouse, y'know, safely." Spider-Man said.
"I wouldn't do that," Blake advised. "Silver Sable made it clear you are not welcome."
"Yeah, well, what's she gonna do, shoot me?" Spidey scoffed.
"Honestly? Fifty-fifty chance." Blake bluntly said.
Spidey groans at the answer given. "Fine. I'll be in the neighborhood, but not too close. Just in case." Spider-Man said as he neared up on the Bowery.
"I still don't get why Jaune and Winter won't work together on this." Ruby said.
"Most likely, my counterpart has been informed not to allow Mr Arc to be anywhere near the investigation," Winter guessed. "Possibly due to my fath-to Jacques not wanting his involvement known."
"Because then he'd have to face consequences for his actions." Ilia muttered.
The screen faded to a safehouse where Dr. Morgan Michaels with the Devil's Breath. "We're ready for you, Dr. Michaels. Is that the Devil's Breath?" The Sable Agent asked.
"It's called GR-27, not-" Michaels attempted to correct before sighing. "Just be careful. In the wrong hands this could-"
"Don't worry," The Agent said. "We're the best in the world." The Agent said as Michaels closed the case with the handcuffs attached to it.
"It's arrogant to assume that." Ironwood frowned. "There's always a margin for error."
"At least Dr. Michaels is taking the threat seriously." Ruby said.
"Yeah, because he helped make it." Yang commented.
"I feel better already." Dr. Michaels muttered as he walked out of the room with the agents following him.
"Code three eighty-one, package is on the move." The Agent informed.
The screen shifted to them outside as they escorted Dr. Michaels to a secure transport.
"This way, Dr. Michaels." The Agent advised as Michaels entered the car.
But as soon as he did, the sounds of rumbling and people yelling out to each other could be heard.
"Oh no…" Velvet muttered in worry.
A Sable Agent ran up to his superiors. "What the hell is that?"
Before they could answer, their attention was drawn to the streets up ahead, where a car was being knocked over by a large, armored truck that was headed their way. And in the truck were the Demons.
"And here are the Demons." Sun said gravelly.
"Those trucks must be the same ones from the garage Pyrrha snuck into." Ren said.
The Sable Agents raised up their arms. "Hostiles!" The agent yelled out as they opened fire at the Demons. "Secure the package!" An Agent orders as one of the Demons fired a negatively charged rocket at them.
"Get him out of h—!" The agent attempted to say before being blasted by the rocket, as well as the other agents nearby.
"They're getting slaughtered." Glynda said with a worried look.
The armored truck easily plowed through the barricade as the Agents attempted to stop it. Suddenly the back door of the truck opened to reveal more Demons at the back as they proceeded to open fire at the Sable Agents.
A resulting firefight ensued as casualties from both sides occurred. This all ended when a Demon Brute climbed out of the truck and smashed onto the ground, resulting in a negative shockwave that sent all of the Agents flying, including Dr. Michael's car.
The Demon brute peered his head in to see he was still there and proceeded to tear the door off the car and pulled him out of the wreckage as he desperately tried to get away.
The Brute pulled him up off his feet and carried him to the armored truck where Mr. Negative was waiting and tossed Michaels into the truck.
"Welcome aboard, Doctor." Mr. Negative said as he closed the door and the truck began to drive out of there.
"Do you think he's gonna kill him?" Ruby asked with concern.
"Considering what happened to the last guy, I wouldn't put it past him." Coco said.
"But he needs him for the Devil's Breath. So there's still a chance of Jaune saving him." Weiss pointed out.
The Agents scrambled to get everything together as Spider-Man was seen leaping down on the area and saw the carnage that unfolded. He even tried to help one of the Agents up.
"Get off me," The Agent snarled against Spider-Man's help. "We got this!"
Yang scoffed. "Yeah right, buddy."
"Yeah. Sure you do." Spidey sarcastically said he kicked up a manhole cover and threw it at a fire hydrant, helping quell down the fires. Once that was taken care of, Spidey swung his way out of there and proceeded to make way after the Demons. He ran across a building and proceeded to perform an impressive flip in the air as he went after the Demon's truck.
"Nice move." Sun commented.
"Blake. I'm in pursuit of Adam Taurus. I think he's got Dr. Michaels, and the Devil's Breath." Jaune informs as he continues to chase after them.
"Copy that. More units coming your way." Blake informs.
"He took Michaels alive, so that's good." Spidey said as manages to avoid getting shot by the Demons. "Probably so he can force him to make more Devil's Breath…" Blake theorized.
"God, I can't dare to imagine what it would be like on a global scale." Ironwood dreaded.
"I mean he's only interested in Weiss's dad." Ruby pointed out. "Maybe he won't go as far.
"I wish I could say the same, Miss Rose." Winter said. "But from what we've seen so far, I find it hard to believe."
"Ugh. I have to stop that truck. Or tank. Or whatever…" Spider-Man said in a voice of determination as he the phone went off. When he got close enough, he launched himself onto the top of the moving truck. Once he got on top, he was immediately met with a couple of the Demons, some armed and ready to take him on. As the first Demon fired the first shot, Spidey leaped out of the way to punch that Demon across the face, eventually even kicking him off the truck itself by webbing him away.
The rest of the Demons charged at Spider-Man as he fought off against them. All the while, the Truck continued its rampage through the city streets, brushing past cars and through always, causing all kinds of damage.
As Spider-Man fought off against the seemingly endless waves of Demons, he suddenly saw a couple of Sable cars heading towards them.
"This is Sable international." Winter's voice spoke from the loud speakers. "We have authorization for deadly force. There will be no further warning."
"Deadly force?!" Winter exclaimed in shock over her counterpart's words.
"And here I thought things were gonna go well." Coco muttered.
"Perhaps Jaune could convince her to hold off." Pyrrha suggested.
"From what we've seen so far, I doubt it." Qrow muttered.
"Whoa, whoa! There's a biological weapon in there!" Spider-Man tried to warn in the hopes Winter would hear him.
"He is correct!" Penny agreed. "If any damage is dealt onto the Devil's Breath, it could cause a premature activation!"
"All units, open fire!" Winter's voice commanded as the Sable Agents from their vehicles complied and opened fire at the truck, even using heavy firepower.
"Of course." Coco groans. "Because that's what the situation needed. More rockets."
"Whoa... why is everyone shooting rockets all of a sudden?!" Spidey exclaims as the truck drives past a Sable checkpoint and everyone in it begins shooting at them, not caring if Spider-Man was caught in the crossfire.
As Spidey avoided being blasted and beaten by the Demon as well as Winter's forces, he suddenly got a call from the woman herself.
"Spider-Man, get clear. You are interfering in this operation." Winter demanded.
"If anything, he's salvaging it." Winter frowned.
"Sorry, but I'm not on board with operation "Missiles in Manhattan." Spider-Man remarked while removing a Demon off the truck. He was about to take out more when his spider sense warned him of incoming blaster fire from Sable's forces, causing him to duck. "Hey stop shooting!" Spider-Man yelled out to the private army.
"This certainly isn't going easy for Mr. Arc." Ozpin commented.
"Not made easier by Ice Queen." Qrow remarked.
Winter sent Qrow an irritated glare, but said nothing as she knew she couldn't rebuke his claim.
Suddenly, cars associated with the Demons suddenly drove into the scene, even knocking away a Sable Car in the process as they supported their comrades.
"Oh great!" Yang exclaimed, throwing her hands up. "More assholes."
"Language." Glynda reprimands.
"Need to clear the guys in the trucks before I got after Taurus." Spider-Man said to himself, knowing the damage these guys could bring. So he jumped off the truck and onto the first car driving up behind it.
He landed on the roof of the car and in front of the gunman sticking out of it. He attempted to shoot the web-spinner, only for Spider-Man to roundhound kick the man before shooting a web line onto him that connected to a passing streetlamp, causing the Demon to be flung right out of the car. Spider-Man then webbed the inside of the car, blocking the Demon's sight as well as their ability to drive. The car shakes as Spider-Man jumps off it and goes after the other car.
"Yeah!" Ruby cheered.
"Go Spider-Jaune!" Nora called out in support for her leader, pumping her fist up.
"Open fire!" Winter's voice instructed.
"Sable, you're going to kill someone!" Spider-Man yelled out, hoping that she would listen to common sense.
"Listen to him you fool!" Winter yelled out.
Her sister's outburst caused Weiss to look at Winter with a surprised expression. "Winter?"
Winter turned to Weiss and sighed. "Forgive me, sister. I just can't stand seeing my counterpart act so recklessly."
"It's alright, Winter." Ironwood assured. "These actions are on your counterpart alone, not you."
Winter nodded in appreciation. "Thank you, sir."
He knew he had to get this done and over with quickly before more people could get hurt, so while in mid air, he launched the gunman in the car up in the air and weblined him to a nearby building and landed on the car. Before he could take it out, he noticed someone on top of the armored truck. "What the?" Spidey muttered before realizing it was a Whip Demon.
"Oh great, another one of these guys." Nora muttered.
"Still, Jaune can still take him on." Pyrrha said.
The Demon then brought his whips down onto the car, causing it to tumble and crash just as Spidey managed to jump off in time. He fired a web line onto the whip Demon, launching himself towards him and quickly knocking him out. The Demons then quickly took a cut that separated them from Sable.
"Target lost— reacquire." Winter instructed.
Meanwhile, a couple of civilians were listening to the mad ramblings of a crazy guy. "He is coming! He is coming and He will destroy all sinners!" The man exclaims as the armored truck passed by them, nearly running them down as everyone, including the mad rambler ran out of the way.
"Y'know he's technically not wrong." Sun shrugged
"I don't think that's quite what he meant." Saphron said.
"Sorry...!" Spidey called out to the civilians as he looked ahead to see scaffolding in the truck's path.
"That looks like a tight fit." Tai commented.
"I'm confident he'll make it through." Blake said.
"You sure?" Weiss asked.
He fired a web line and flung himself right through a narrow gap as the truck smashed through the scaffolding as time seemed to slow down for Spidey. Time resumed as Spider-Man landed right on the hood of the truck, coming face to face with Mr. Negative.
"I'm sure Blake said with a small smile, though he quickly changed to a serious expression as she frowned at the sight of her former partner.
"Taurus! Hand it over!" Spider-Man demanded, only to be met with a couple of bullets from Adam as he rolled over to the side of the truck.
"Well that went as well as expected." Yang commented.
He tried smashing the car window to get to Adam, only for him to kick the door hard, which caused the door to open and leave it hanging, as did Spider-Man. Spider-Man attempted to swing himself back towards Adam, only for the door to break off and land on the moving ground as it slid under the truck with Jaune still on it. He grabbed onto a part of the truck to stop him from sliding off. He went to fire a web line on the back of the truck, only for the part he was holding onto to break off and spew fluid in his face.
"Ew!" Ruby winced at the sight. "Gross."
"Gligh! Brake fluid!" Jaune gagged in disgust as he let go of what he was holding onto, causing him to fall back, but still managed to hang onto the web line he fired as he dragged behind the truck.
He then suddenly got a call from Blake. "What's your status? Have you apprehended Taurus?" Blake asked.
"...working on it." Spider-Man grunted as he fired another web onto the truck and flung himself under the truck.
"Brakes are out!" The Demon with Adam informed.
"The Spider is clever. Go faster! Ram everything!" Adam ordered as Spider-Man crawled his way back to the side of the truck where Adam was.
"I'll take this." Spidey says as he grabs the briefcase with the Devil's Breath in it. But his hand was immediately grabbed by Mr. Negative. He yelled out in pain as Adam's hand began glowing that was beginning to reach Jaune's arm. "What are you doing to me?"
"Oh no..." Pyrrha muttered in worry.
"What's happening!" Saphron asked, growing fearful for her little brother.
"He's trying to corrupt him!" Blake exclaimed. "Like he did before!"
"Giving you a new perspective." Mr Negative said with a smirk as the world around him was flashing in and out before it all suddenly faded to white.
Everything started to clear up for Spider-Man as he found himself in a slightly familiar area.
"What the hell?" Jaune muttered as he looked around to see that he was back at City Hall, where the bombing took place. But it was all distorted and slightly faded. Even time in this place had halted.
"Where is he?" Ruby asked.
"I think Adam is performing an illusion on Mr. Arc." Ozpin theorized. "Partially, the day of the bombing."
"I must be honest. I was hoping to bring you here." The voice of Adam spoke out to Jaune as he looked to see Adam in front of him with his hands behind his back. "My abilities lend me a certain... persuasiveness."
"You mean mind control?" Yang said with a glare. "How you made a guy shoot himself!?"
Before Jaune could do anything, Adam suddenly teleported to the top of a nearby railing in front of him. "I've been watching you. I was waiting for you at City Hall." Adam spoke as Jaune webbed his way towards him, only for Adam to vanish to a crowd of people on the streets. "You never came. Where were you?"
"He was there, you jerk!" Nora yelled out.
"Is this real or in my mind?" Jaune asks, his tone filled with a small trace of panic. Shaking his head, Jaune jumped down onto the streets and approached Taurus.
"It was a shame so many had to die with no heroes to save them." Adam said with mock sympathy as he vanished once more. Jaune carefully walked through the shadowy people in his path.
Glynda glared at Adam. "Don't you dare treat those innocent lives as if you cared about them."
He turned his head to see moth Mr Negative and Adam Taurus, the latter being a memory. "That officer saved your life didn't he?" Adam asked. "He was here because of you."
"And your actions caused his death." Ironwood angrily said.
"And Jacques," Adam's tone changed to a bitter one as he teleported next to the memory of Jeff. "wanted to use him. A futile gesture, in the end."
"And where was Jacques during all this? Slinking away like a rat." Adam said as he transported next the memory of the fleeing man. "He knew what was going to happen, and he fled."
Adam transported back behind Jaune as he immediately turned around. "Jacques is a hidden cancer on this City. He must be excised with no trace of his corruption to return." Adam spoke as he teleported right back in front of Spider-Man. "Jacques hides behind his mask of lies. I will break it apart and drag him into the light!" Adam exclaims as Jaune shielded his eyes from a flash of light that occurred.
Once he opened them, he saw the mask of the Demon hovering right in front of him, glowing with powerful light.
"Put on the mask, become one of us." Adam offered.
"Yeah, as if Jaune would go for a black and white look." Coco scoffed.
View gave a small cough at that statement.
Jaune glared at Adam under his mask, and instead of accepting, he fired a web line onto the mask and swung it around. "Thanks but no thanks!" Spider-Man said as he tossed the mask right at Adam.
Mister Negative growled in anger at this. "One way or the other, you WILL join me." Negative declares as he begins hovering in the air.
"Not gonna happen, Negative Nancy." Yang growled.
"Uh oh…" Spidey mutters in worry as Adam suddenly what appeared to be negative ghouls before him.
Spider-Man began fighting against the ghouls, dodging their punches and blows as he tried to take them down to get to Adam.
"All the souls you've lost. The 'innocent victims' you couldn't save." Adam taunted as Jaune fought back against these Demons.
"Don't let him get to you, Jaune." Pyrrha says.
"Yeah, this ass has nothing on you!" Yang cheered.
Jaune frowned at this. "Adam, their blood is on YOUR hands." Jaune said as he quickly took down a Demon and webbed it to the ground.
"You can't stop Schnee." Adam says as more and more Demons appeared, causing Jaune to sigh as he continued to fight. "You have so much strength. I can give you the Will." Adam proclaims.
Spider-Man shook his head at his words as he continued to stand his ground against the Demons. He kept going and going to beat them all, but more and more kept appearing.
"It's like it ever ends!" Sun exclaims.
"Adam can't keep this up forever." Ren said.
"And Jaune's not gonna stop." Saphron said as she continued to watch her brother, hoping that he would make it out.
"Their bodies filled the gutters and you did nothing!" Adam yelled.
"I can't save everyone." Jaune says with some desperation in his tone as the Demons used their powers and weapons against him.
"What's one life? A simple trade, one life for a city of souls." Adam asks. "You defend Schnee while he sits in his ivory tower?"
"Yeah, you're not exactly innocent either, pal!" Sun retorted.
"This isn't real!" Jaune yells as he tries to shut out his words.
"Show me your true strength!" Adam demands.
Spider-Man gritted his teeth, this had gone on far enough. He moved with enhanced speed to take out the Demons one by one till a few remained. Spidey looked to see Mr. Negative had joined the fight.
Spider-Man went in for a single punch, causing Negative to raise his hand at the vigilante. "Kneel before me!" Adam exclaims as Spidey blocked the hand as it glowed with negative energy.
"Come on, Jaune." Ruby encouraged.
"I will pull your mask off and expose you!" Adam yells as he lets loose a blast of negative power, only for Spidey to dodge it. Spider-Man and Mr. Negative stood there for a few moments, the only combatants on the field as Spidey leaped forward towards him.
But Mr. Negative just teleported to the top of the building in front of him. "The shadows are sworn to me, and I will give them strength!" Adam declares as he created a massive Demon mask in front of him, acting as a shield for him as debris was being launched at Spider-Man.
"The mask!" Spidey groans, feeling the overwhelming power of the realm. "I have to destroy the mask!" Spidey yells as he grabs one of the debris coming towards him and hurls it back at the mask.
"Smart. Must be the source of the illusion." Ren said.
"WHAT!" Mr. Negative exclaims in shock at this sudden turn of events.
Spider-Man kept throwing more and more projectiles at the mask as cracks started to show on it, much to Adam's frustration. "I won't abandon you in the darkness, Adam!" Jaune calls out as he continues throwing debris at the mask as it continues to break.
"You can't!" Mr. Negative yells.
"You can come back to the light!" Spider-Man pleaded. And with one more throw of debris, the mask broke apart.
"I have my doubts about that." Ironwood sighed. "Even if he does, it doesn't change what he's done.
Ghira looked down in disappointment at this, knowing the general was right.
"No!" Taurus yells out as the world around them fades to white.
After a few moments, Spider-Man found himself back in the real world, with Negative still grabbing onto his arm. He gave Adam a punch across the face that caused him to let go of him.
"Ha! Take that!" Nora yelled out.
"Now all he needs to do is to take the Devil's Breath away from him." Blake said.
Before he could fall down, Spider-Man fired two web lines onto a nearby building and statue and proceeded to use his strength to push the armored truck in a titled position as it continued driving.
Spider-Man groans in pain as he tries to stop the truck. He turned his head to see the truck swerving towards a nearby building. But there were some civilians in their path as they scrambled away, causing his eyes to widen in shock as they hit right into the building and the screen faded to black.
The screen faded back to show Spider-Man groaning in pain as he lifted himself up from the rubble. He climbed on top of the remains of the armored truck and looked inside of it. But Adam was gone and the briefcase containing the Devil's Breath was gone as well.
"Damn it!" Ironwood cursed.
Ozpin sighed. "It appears Taurus got away."
"And with the Devil's Breath." Glynda said in a grave tone.
This wasn't good. But Jaune's attention was drawn elsewhere as he looked up to see Dr. Michaels in the rubble nearby of the crash. He leaped off the truck and walked towards Michaels.
He helped Dr. Michaels up off the ground. "You okay?" He asks.
"Yes." Spider-Man admitted. "How worried should I be?"
"Very." Dr. Michaels said in a serious tone.
Just then, a Sable Helicopter was seen hovering below the two.
"Oh great, here comes more trouble." Coco remarks, with Velvet nudging her in response.
"You're a popular guy." Spidey remarks as Sable Agents descend down on wires, landing on the ground with their leader, Winter, who, judging by her expression, did not look happy.
Spidey gestured to Dr. Michaels to stay back as he walked towards Winter.
"Where's the serum?" Winter demanded as stomped towards Dr. Michaels, only for Spider-Man to block her way as she glared at him.
"Gone." Dr. Michaels answers honestly, much to Winter's anger and irritation.
"Didiskoya" Winter hisses in frustration. She then snapped towards Spider-Man. "So-called "super-hero" you think you save people but you just make it worse." Winter says as she stared off against Spider-Man. "This is your fault!" Winter says as she pushes Spider-Man.
"His fault!?" Blake exclaims.
"He wasn't the one blasting a truck with a deadly virus with rockets!" Yang yelled out before quickly realizing that she insulted Weiss's sister and turned to the older Schnee. "Oh, um sorry."
"You have a right to be angry at my counterpart, Miss Xiao Long." Winter said as she looked at herself on screen with a disappointed look. "I know I am."
"My fault?" Spider-Man exclaims incredulously. "He was under your protection…" He pointed out, prompting Winter to pull her pistols on him.
Spidey scoffs at this. "Do you really need two of those?" Spidey remarks as he fires two web lines onto them, only for Winter to pull him towards her and kick him across the face, sending him to the ground.
"Damn, she is good." Tai said, impressed.
"Only in terms of combat." Winter said. "Moral standpoints however..."
Winter walked towards Spider-Man while he was down, only to be stopped by Dr. Michaels. "Stop!" Michaels pleaded as he got in her way. "We need to brief Mr. Schnee now!" Dr. Michaels said as Winter took in a few deep breaths.
"At least someone has the right mind." Kali said.
Dr. Michaels turned to Spider-Man as he got back up. "I'll go with her…" He said to the wall crawler. "Thank you. I'll remember this…" He said sincerely as he followed Winter and the rest of her forces while Spidey held his jaw in pain at the kick he received.
"At least he's grateful for his help." Ruby said.
Later on, Spider-Man was currently perched on a radio tower, on the phone with Blake.
"Blake, tell me you've got a lead on Adam Taurus's location." Spider-Man asked, hoping for at least a little good news after what happened.
"We have footage from a guy at a coffee shop, looks like he hopped into a black sedan after the crash." Blake informs.
"Alright!" Yang smirks as she nudges her partner's arm. "Nice one Blake."
"It's my counterpart who did it, but thanks." Blake smiled.
"Black sedan. Great." Spider-Man said as he was about to leap off the tower until Blake's voice stopped him.
"Let me finish." Blake requested, causing Spidey to stop. "We have a partial plate. and one of my patrol guys just found a matching plate, black sedan, in a parking lot near Canal and Hudson."
"You're a good cop, Blake. I'm on my way." Spider-Man thanked as he got off the call and leaped off the tower to make his way to the location given to him.
But as he was swinging through the city, he suddenly got a call from an unexpected source. "Spider-Man? Hello? Is this working?!" The voice of Dr. Michaels called out.
"Wait, is that Dr Michaels?" Ruby asked.
"Sounds like it." Blake said.
"How'd he know to contact him?" Sun asked.
"Maybe Jaune's not using a secure com link." Weiss suggested.
Spider-Man was surprised by this. So much so that he stopped swinging and landed on the side of a nearby building to listen properly. "Dr. Michaels? How are you calling?"
"Borrowed" one of Sable's radios." Michaels answered. "Listen, transit hubs are the most likely release paints for Devil's Breath. Airports, bus terminals, train stations. It'll spread like wildfire from there."
"That would make sense." Penny hummed. "With populated areas such as those, it'll give the virus a greater chance to spread."
"Why the hell is Schneecorp developing a bioweapon in the City?" Spider-Man questions. "Shouldn't this be in an arctic bunker?"
"Devil's Breath is personal for Jacques. It's been his obsession for decades. The project breaks every state and federal regulation on the books, but he doesn't care."
"Of course he doesn't. He never does." Weiss bitterly said.
"If the City finds out, he can kiss re-election goodbye." Spider-Man says.
"Nevermind re-election, he'd be tried in the Hague for war crimes."
"Doesn't sound too bad." Winter mutters.
"Why are you telling me all this? Aren't you just as culpable as Jacques?" Spider-Man asked.
"Yes. Completely." Dr. Michaels admitted with remorse in his tone. "But Taurus's actions have been a wake up call. We've ignored the project's risks for too long. I trust you, Spider-Man. You're the only one trying to do the right thing. Please: protect the City from our mistakes." Dr. Michaels pleaded as he hung up on the wall crawler.
"At least he sees the errors of his mistakes. And wants to make amends." Ozpin said.
"Glad to see some people are willing to do right." Ruby said with a small smile.
Feeling a sense of renowned determination, Spider-Man leaped off the side of the building and continued making his way to the location, hopefully Adam would be there and he would be able to stop him before he could achieve his plans.
He finally made it to the location he got from black and the black car she mentioned. But when Jaune looked inside of it, it was completely empty, with no sign of either Adam or the Devil's Breath.
"Ah damn it!" Sun cursed. "Can things go right for a change!?"
"There is still time." Pyrrha said. "Hopefully, Jaune and my counterpart can work to find it."
"Hmm, I wonder where she is?" Nora pondered.
"Damn. Devil's Breath is gone…" Jaune cursed in frustration. An idea then formed in his head. "I should call Pyr and warn her…" Jaune says as he went to call her.
"This is Pyrrha Nikos. Please leave a detailed message and I'll get back to you as soon as I can." Pyrrha's automated response spoke out to Jaune, much to his annoyance.
"What are you up to now, Pyr?" Jaune wondered.
"I think I have a feeling about that, Nora." Pyrrha said with a slight look of worry.
The screen faded to black and then quickly returned to show Pyrrha in Grand Central, where a Schnee Corp Presentation was being held.
"It looks like Miss Nikos is following up on Standish's lead." Ren said.
"Alone as it seems." Winter said with a raised brow.
"Maybe she just wants to check out what the Demons might want from there." Ruby said. "I'm sure she'll call Jaune and let him know."
"I hope so, Ruby." Pyrrha said as she watched her counterpart.
"Standish said the Demons are looking for *something* at GCT... but what could they possibly need here?" Pyrrha wondered as she descended down the staircase.
"Should probably call Jaune and let him know what I'm doing." Pyrrha said before sighing ."Actually, scratch that. He'd probably just tell me to go home and chain myself to my laptop." Pyrrha said in annoyance. "I'll just check things out quick and let him know what I find."
"I think there needs to be a clearer basis on communication between the two." Ozpin said. "Otherwise if they don't work together then
"It is one of the most important things to learn when training as a Huntsman." Glynda said in agreement. "Without communication or trust, a team will never truly be a team."
As she walked, she could hear one of the display's talking about their latest invitations. "Schneecorp's research and development team are hard at work on a radical new form of battery that recharges itself from sound waves. In a few short months you will be able to buy a phone that will never have to be plugged in."
"Huh, that could be useful." Weiss admits, thinking of the possibilities.
"Hm. Cool." Pyrrha commented as she walked past it and continued to look around. She even saw a device that could turn someone invisible.
"Pfft," Ilia scoffs.
But her attention was quickly drawn to the object she was seeking. It appeared to be a containing device. Curious, she pressed on the button to learn more about it.
"This Gaia Microbe Dispersal Device releases specially formulated microbes into the atmosphere, and in turn leaves our oceans and rivers cleaner than when man first walked Remnant."
"With a device like that..." Ren said in a grave tone, thinking of the Demons.
"The Devil's Breath could be used to spread." Blake said with the same tone.
"Well, it's a good thing Pyrrha found it first, huh?" Nora said.
As Pyrrha listened intently, she didn't notice a figure coming near her from behind. She eventually turned around to see Adam Taurus standing behind her with a calm expression.
"Oh no..." Blake muttered in worry over Pyrrha's safety.
"Me and my big mouth." Nora muttered as she grew worried for her teammate while glaring at Adam.
"Mr Taurus." Pyrrha quietly gasped.
"This will be easier for everyone if you remain and do as I say." Adam advised with a hint of a threatening tone to his voice as his eyes glowed.
"Yeah, how could you not trust a guy with eyes like those!" Yang sarcastically remarked.
Pyrrha turned her head to see a police officer nearby. "Police! Over here!" Pyrrha called over, gaining his attention as he walked over to see what was going on.
"I don't think that's gonna help things." Coco gravelly said.
Pyrrha attempted to escape, but Adam grabbed her by the shoulder, pulling her back as the Demons ganged up on the police officer, beating him down as everyone in the station watched on in horror.
One of the Demons grabbed the device and dragged Pyrrha along with them.
"Demons!" Adam called out to the rest of his forces, which then prompted the Demons to close all of the gates in the station, locking everyone inside the building as more Demons came in, armed and pointing their guns at the people.
"Aw hell!" Sun exclaimed.
"He has all those people hostage and a device that can help spread the Devil's Breath." Ruby said in a worried tone.
"And Pyrrha's caught in the middle of it." Ren said as he stared at the screen intensely.
"We still do not know if or when Adam will attempt to arm it." Ozpin said. "He may still have a plan in mind for this."
A police guard attempted to assist, only to get knocked out by a Demon as he shot his gun in the air, gaining everyone's attention. The Demons took Pyrrha and the rest of the civilians in a crowded circle as the Demon placed the device he was carrying on a table near them.
After getting what he needed, Adam went on his phone to call someone.
"Mayor Schnee's office." The Assistant spoke on the other line.
"I would like to speak to Mayor Schnee." Adam demanded.
"Who's calling?"
"The man he is looking for…" Adam ominously answered.
"I'd consider that to be a badass line if he wasn't trying to kill a hundred people over it." Coco scowled.
"Yeah." Nora nodded in agreement.
After a few seconds, he got what he wanted. "What do you want?" Jacques questions.
"I want you at Grand Central Terminal in thirty minutes. By yourself." Adam demanded as he turned to the hostages. "Or there will be more blood on your hands." Adam said as he crushed the phone in his hand. He then proceeded to insert the Devil's Breath inside the storage device.
While the Demons were distracted, Pyrrha quickly texted Jaune to let him know what was happening.
"Party at GCT." Pyrrha's text read. "Wear your best suit."
"Good, with Jaune's help, this should be over in no time." Ruby said in an optimistic tone.
"Provided he can do it without drawing attention to himself." Glynda said.
"That might be a challenge," Blake said with an unsure tone. "Considering both it's day time and that he's wearing red and blue with a large white spider.
Nora grinned. "Then it's a good thing he's got his partner with him."
Pyrrha let out a small sigh as she patiently waited for Jaune to arrive and stop Adam.
"Pyr!" Jaune's panicked voice suddenly spoke through her ear coms. "I'm on my way. Are you hurt?"
"No. I'm fine. Just hurry." Pyrrha whispered
"Going as fast as I can. What are you doing at GCT?" Spider-Man asked.
"Bit of a long and awkward story there. Yang winces.
"One that'll have to be saved for later." Blake said.
"I'll explain later. Listen, Taurus's going to release the Devil's Breath." Pyrrha quickly said, hoping that no Demon was hearing her.
"You gotta get out of there!"
"He's not going to do it until Jacques Schnee gets here." Pyrrha informs.
"And who knows how long that is," Velvet said.
"Or if he'll even come." Weiss said with folded arms.
"Or worse, if he calls Winter's forces in, they'd probably just storm the place and make things worse." Terra added.
Winter looked down at this, after seeing what happened during the chase, she couldn't deny the possibility.
"Wait... this must have been Taurus's plan all along." Jaune realized. "Make Jacques responsible by forcing him to release the Devil's Breath himself."
"Sort of makes sense, in a twisted, psychotic way." Pyrrha said.
"Okay, I'm here." Spidey announced. "Coming into the terminal now...anything I should be on the lookout for?" Spidey asked.
Pyrrha looked around the room and spotted the hovering drones nearby. "Looks like he's got some drones patrolling, guess he's prepared for you."
"Don't worry. I'm in the ventilation system. Can you see a safe exit point?" Spidey asked once more.
Pyrrha looked around and spotted a vent entrance. "Southwest corner." Pyrrha informs.
"On my way." Spidey said as Pyrrha waited.
"Y'know, they really are an effective pair when they are able to." Winter commented.
"Indeed." Ozpin said while still watching. "They're quite possibly one of the most effective pairings in Beacon."
As she then heard the fainting sound of webbing being shot in the background and smirked.
"If I get any closer, the drones will spot me."
Pyrrha looked around for anything to help and saw a tablet near her. "See that tablet I'm looking at? That controls the drones." Pyrrha whispers.
"Think you can snag it?" Jaune asked.
"Yes... if you can distract them. And not get shot." Pyrrha said.
"Shouldn't be too hard." Yang remarks.
"I'm ready. Tell me when." Jaune said as Pyrrha looked towards the clock on the information center.
"Okay, I'm ready." Pyrrha said with determination.
"Incoming…" Jaune warned as he fired a single web shot onto the clock, gaining the Demons attention as they began investigating the source of the web shot.
"Okay, move." Spider-Man instructed while there was still time.
Seeing her opportunity, Pyrrha got up from her spot and began making her way towards the tablet.
But unfortunately, as soon as she reached it, one of the hostages was getting restless. "They're not gonna take me without a fight." A man whispers as he gets up from his spot and charges right at one of the Demons.
"No, no, no, what are you doing, you idiot!" Winter hisses.
Qrow groans as he places a hand against his face.
He tried to land a punch on him, only for the man to miss and get kneed in the stomach by the Demon as he grunted in pain as the Demon held him up.
"Oh no..." Ruby said with worry in her tone, not wanting to see that man lose his life.
"He needs to save him!" Velvet cried out.
"But if he does, he's gonna expose himself and they'll set off the Devil's Breath early." Ilia pointed out.
"Had to be a hero…" The Demon scoffed as he pulled a gun on the man's head.
"Oh no!" Kali said with a fearful tone.
This caused Pyrrha to immediately jump up from her spot and raise her arms up in surrender "Wait!" Pyrrha pleaded.
"Pyrrha!" Ruby yelped out in worry.
"Pyr, what are you doing?!" Jaune whispered with panic in his tone.
"My thoughts exactly!" Weiss exclaimed with wide eyes.
"I think my counterpart is trying to prevent that man from being killed." Pyrrha calmly explained, though still kept her eyes on the screen.
"Let's all just relax." Pyrrha said calmly in a shaky tone.
"Stop. Or I'll shoot you too." The Demon demanded as he pointed his gun at her and then back at the man's head.
"Listen, I'm a reporter. I have a direct line to Mayor Schnee." Pyrrha explains. "I can help make sure he arrives on time."
The Demon perked his head up at this. "How?" The Demon asked.
"First let him go." Pyrrha requested.
"Very smart." Ironwood complimented. "Though a little too risky for my liking."
"You're telling me!" Nora exclaimed while putting a palm to her chest.
The Demon Commander near them then got onto the radio. "Mr. Taurus, this reporter says she knows how to find Schnee." The Demon reported as he heard back from Adam. "Yes, sir." The Demon said as he got off the radio and nodded to the other Demon, who immediately let go of his hostage.
"Bring her over there, away from the others. Mr. Taurus is on his way." The Demon Commander said as the grunt gestured Pyrrha to move along.
Ruby sighed. "At least she and that guy are safe.
"But for how long?" Blake questions.
"Move!" The Demon demanded, pushing her forward as the two walked towards a flight of stairs. But unbeknownst to the two, Spider-Man was hanging off a nearby wall near them.
"Ah good." Saphron said. "Jaune's there."
"And since they're secluded from the rest, he has a better chance of taking him down." Glynda said.
Spidey jumped off with a web line attached and swung towards the Demon and launched him in the air and webbed onto the wall. "They're coming, jump over the railing!" Spider-Man advised over Pyrrha's coms. She nodded and carefully jumped down to the bottom floor below.
She looked up to see a Demon guarding the top of the stairs.
"Can't let 'em see me." Pyrrha whispers to herself as she walks slowly to the staircase next on the left and begins making her way up it, while also avoiding the Demon who had just begun walking down it.
Once she made it up safely, she carefully made her way towards the processing center, only to stop in her tracks once she saw a couple of drones headed in her direction.
"Uh oh." Pyrrha mutters in worry as the drones neared her.
"Freaking drones." Qrow mutters.
"Can't Jaune just take them out?" Velvet asked.
"Not without alerting the others." Ren said.
"Drones! Get to cover!" Spider-Man warned as Pyrrha went up behind a stand for cover.
"You still got that tablet?" Spidey asked.
"Yeah." Pyrrha said.
"Better work fast." Jaune said as Pyrrha began working through the tablet and into the drone's settings.
"Okay, I got this." Pyrrha said to encourage herself. "C'mon... c'mon... Almost there…"
And after a few attempts, the guns on the drones dropped down and their red lights turned blue.
"Very good." Ozpin nodded.
"With the drones offline, Miss Nikos and Mr Arc will have a better advantage against the Demons." Ironwood said.
"I did it!" Pyrrha said with succession.
"Good job." Jaune complimented as he suddenly appeared before her, upside down. "Now let's get you out of here."
"What about the Devil's Breath?" Pyrrha asked.
"I'll come back for it." Jaune says.
"But there might not be enough time." Ruby said.
"No. We're partners, remember?" Pyrrha reminded.
"She's right." Ozpin said. "They have to work together in order to secure the Devil's Breath."
"But Pyrrha could get hurt." Weiss said.
"Mr Arc won't be able to get to it without harming the civilians." Ozpin pointed out. "At least Miss Nikos can get there at a much safer distance."
Glynda sighed. "I...can't argue against that."
"Can we argue later...?" Spidey said in slight annoyance while trying to keep quiet.
"If we don't help those people, they could die." Pyrrha said gravely.
"So could you. I can't let that happen." Spider-Man said as he reached his hand out to her.
Nora smiled. "He really doesn't want anything bad to happen to you.
Pyrrha gave a warm smile at Jaune. "And I greatly appreciate it. But I believe, in this instance, they do need to work together in order to stop Adam."
Pyrrha shook her head. "No. I got myself into this. I'm getting myself out of it." Pyrrha said as she began moving away from Jaune.
"What do you mean you got yourself into this?" Spidey quietly asks as he is forced to go back up to avoid being spotted.
Yang winces. "That's gonna be awkward to explain."
Pyrrha positioned herself behind a phone stand as a Demon came up the stairs.
"I don't like this, there's too many of them." Jaune's worried voice spoke over the coms.
"Then let's start taking them out. Quietly." Pyrrha said as she peaked her head up to see two Demons near each other. She then quietly tossed a lure behind a newspaper stand.
The beeping was enough to gain the Demon who was near it attention as he walked over to investigate it. And when he got close enough, he was just out of sight from the other Demon.
"That did it, grab him!" Pyrrha announced as a web line suddenly latched onto the Demon, launching him up in the air. Then the other Demon was quickly taken out as well.
Once those two were taken care of, Pyrrha quietly made her way down the stairs. She looked down to see another group of two Demons together.
"Pretty good teamwork." Sun complimented.
"See if you can break up that group." Spidey said.
Pyrrha nodded in response. She tossed another lure near one of the Demons, gaining his attention and went to investigate it, leaving his partner out in the open.
"Go!" Pyrrha whispered as Spidey immediately went down and took the Demon out and webbed him up onto the roof, quickly doing the same for the other Demon that left Pyrrha a lot of room.
"Very good coordination." Glynda complimented.
"Yeah, when those two aren't bickering like an old married couple, you actually do work together well."
Ozpin raised a brow at Qrow's statement. "And you don't see anyone else who that advice needs applying to?"
Qrow looked at Ozpin for a few moments before shrugging. "No, why?"
Ozpin sighed. "No reason."
As Pyrrha made her way down, Jaune suddenly asked her something that was on his mind since arriving here.
"Pyr, did you know Taurus would be here?" Jaune asked.
"Oh boy, here comes the awkwardness." Sun said.
Pyrrha winced at this and had to be honest. "Not exactly."
"What do you mean?" Spidey asked.
"I thought something might happen, but not like this!"
"Why didn't you tell me?" Jaune quietly asked in shock. "I thought we were partners!"
"Partners trust each other. Jaune." Pyrrha reminded.
"What do you mean? I trust you…" Jaune says but doesn't sound entirely convinced.
"Ooh, that didn't sound genuine." Coco said.
"Yeah, when I'm sitting at home behind a laptop." Pyrrha scoffs.
"Oh come on…" Jaune groans in disbelief.
Pyrrha sighs at this. "Can we please get back to saving the city here?" Pyrrha asked as she moved up near another cover spot.
She moved closer where she needed to be, and after luring a Demon away from it. She quickly rushed over to a stockpile of weapons. But as she reached there, Adam Taurus came out of the gate to the subway.
"Oh crap." Yang curses.
"They need to move quickly." Weiss said.
"Right. Before he has a chance to arm it." Blake said in a serious tone.
"Where's the reporter?" Adam asks.
"She's here somewhere... we'll find her soon." A Demon reported.
"Gotta get past him." Pyrrha whispers.
"I'm ready." Jaune says.
"Are the drones still armed?" Adam asks.
"Shen had the controls, but we can't find him either."
Adam grunts in anger at this. "If she escaped…" He said in a threatening tone.
"No, she didn't escape, she's in here somewhere," The Demon quickly informs. "But it's a big place."
"Do it!" Pyrrha whispers, prompting Spidey to fire two web lines onto a nearby sign and pull it onto two Demons, crushing them, causing all of the Demons to panic while Adam stood there, calmly.
Adam rolled his eyes at this. "Start the timer." Adam orders as he walks off.
"Oh no…" Ruby said with worry.
A Demon minion ran over to the device and activated it, starting the timer from two minutes.
"Now's your chance." Spider-Man said, now that the Demons were scattered, Pyrrha could now stop the Devil's Breath from activating.
She rushed on over to where it was while also avoiding the sight of the Demons while doing so. "Keep them busy. I'll take care of the Devil's Breath." Pyrrha said as she reached the beeping device.
"Do you know what you're doing?" Jaune asked.
Pyrrha shook her head as she carefully looked at the device. "No. But that's never stopped me before."
"Not a sound tragedy." Ghira said.
"Kinda like Jaune sometimes." Nora says.
"With his knowledge, he can guide her through it." Penny said.
"I hope you're right, Pen." Yang said as she and the rest of the audience watched intensely.
"Okay, what do you see?" Spidey asked, he could at least advise her from where he was.
"I see four wires. Two blue ones, one yellow, and one red." Pyrrha informs as she turns it over. "Oh! Okay. Looks like blue is connected to the battery. And yellow to a fan. Red one has a little exclamation mark."
"Okay, you'll want to detach the wires from the battery first. Trace the wires to the other end and unplug them there." Spider-Man advises.
"Okay…" Pyrrha whispers. "Unplug the wires from the battery…" Pyrrha said as she did as Jaune said and unplugged it. "Okay, pulled the first wire."
"So far, so good." Tai said.
"Now the second one." Jaune says, prompting Pyrrha to pull the second one, but when she did so, it caused a warning beeping sound and the timer changed.
"What?! The timer just changed to thirty seconds!" Pyrrha exclaims.
"Oh shit!" Yang curses.
"It's gonna go off!" Sun exclaims.
"Not yet." Ozpin said calmly. "They still have time."
Jaune groans in frustration at this sudden change. "Argh, it's a collapsing circuit."
"What comes next, the fan?" Pyrrha asks quickly, hoping to stop it before it reaches the end.
"Yes, then the last wire, but you have to hurry!" Spider-Man urged as Pyrrha quickly went to work as she rotated the device to get to the fan.
"Please work, please work, please work…" Ruby quietly muttered to herself.
She pulled out the wire fan and let out a quick sigh. "Now the red one!" Pyrrha whispers as she quickly turns it and pulls out the red wire, stopping the countdown from just a mere matter of seconds.
"Got it!" Pyrrha whispers out in relief.
"Oh thank goodness." Kali sighed in relief.
"Nice!" Yang exclaims.
"You did it. Wow." Jaune said, impressed and relieved that Pyrrha and the hostages were safe.
"Yeah," Pyrrha sighed in agreement. "Now let's get these people out of here. I could use a little Spidey-help. You ready?"
"Right. I'll clear a path…" Spider-Man said as he looked around the area for Demons to take out.
"Try to do it quietly…" Pyrrha advises.
"Again, suit, daylight…" Coco reminded.
Jaune smirks under his mask at this. "Will do." Jaune said as he went to work dealing with the Demons. He started off by dealing with the Demons that were off on their own, picking them off so that they wouldn't be noticed straight away. He went ahead by wrapping them up in the rafters or webbing them up on the walls.
He used his webs to cause distractions that allowed him to get to Demons that had been paired up with one another, leaving them open. He had even used a few gadgets here and there to take them out a lot more quickly, like when using a trip mine web when a Demon turned a corner or it latched onto another Demon that webbed them both together in a single instant.
Once the room had been cleared enough, Jaune found this was a good opportunity to get the civilians and Pyrrha out of harm's way.
"Okay. Pyr, time to go." Jaune announces while dealing with the last of the Demons.
"Copy that." Pyrrha nodded in confirmation. She then stood up before everyone. "Everyone follow me!" Pyrrha calls out, prompting the hostages to get up from their spots and scramble to the nearby exit.
"Very good coordination, Miss Nikos." Glynda complimented.
"With them out of the way, Spider-Jaune is gonna mess those guys up!" Nora said with an eager grin.
Once everyone was out, Spider-Man landed on the ground where more Demons came in charging after him.
"Forget the hostages, take out Spider-Man!" The Demon in front ordered as he and his fellow Demons went in to attack him.
Spider-Man proceeded to dodge the lead Demon's punches and kicks against him, eventually jumping behind the and kicking him to the ground and webbing him.
His spider sense went off as he quickly dodged bullets coming from a Demon with a gun nearby. He webbed the man's gun off of him, spun it and threw it back at him.
As he fought against the Demons, Jaune called up Pyrrha. "Pyr, did you make it out?" Jaune asked while casually taking down a Demon.
"Everyone is safe." Pyrrha informs.
"Good job." Jaune complimented.
"Hey Jaune." Pyrrha says.
"Yeah?"
"When you're done in there, we should talk." Pyrrha said in a serious tone.
"Yeah. We should." Jaune said in agreement, knowing it wasn't going to be an easy talk, but not as easy as the fight against the Demons.
"Well, that's gonna be fun." Yang remarks.
"They really do need to sort out their problems," Glynda said.
"I hope they can." Ruby said. "They really are good partners when they can be."
"But first, find Taurus and kick his ass." Pyrrha said in an intense tone as she hung up.
Nora grinned. "Man, I wish you could be that edgy, Pyrrha."
Pyrrha chuckled. "Sorry, Nora, but I don't think I have that kind of edge within me."
"Could've fooled me." Yang muttered, remembering the beatdown she gave Cardin and his team.
Jaune chuckled at this as he took down a Demon. "Feel bad for anyone who's on the wrong side of Pyr." Jaune says. "Wonder what side I'm on right now…"
"Trust me, you'd know, kid." Tai said, thinking of the times he pissed off either Raven or Summer.
More Demons came charging in at him. And Spider-Man was at the ready. "OK guys, trivia time. Did you know Grand Central has the *largest* basement in the City?" Jaune asks as a grenade was tossed at him, only for Spider-Man to redirect it back at them, blowing them away. "Crazy, right? You could fit half the Brooklyn Bridge down there!" Jaune exclaims.
"Hmm," Penny hummed with interest. "That is very interesting to learn."
"Do you think he reads up on stuff like this to use against his enemies?" Sun asked.
Velvet giggled. "I wouldn't be surprised.
A Demon yelled and charged at Spider-Man, only for him to miss most of his punches and get knocked away by the wall crawler.
"Ha! I agree - they sure don't make 'em like they used to. That's old school New York gumption, for you."
"Anyway. I could talk trivia all day, but I gotta stop your wingnut of a boss from destroying the city. Time to wrap this up." Spider-Man said as he quickly made work of all the remaining Demons by either knocking them out or webbing them to the ground.
Spidey then overheard Adam's voice on the radio on one of the knocked-out Demons. "I'm boarding the train, keep Spider-Man busy!"
"Yeah, that's not gonna work out well for you, buddy." Sun remarks.
"Taurus's escape plan is to use the train," Spider-Man realized. "Can't let him get away." Spidey said in a determined tone as he ran towards the nearest exit. He saw a train right ahead, but it began moving.
"Train's moving, Taurus's getting away!" Spider-Man said as he launched himself towards the train with his webs, smashing right through the windows and into the train car.
Once inside of the car, he was met with Mr. Negative, who stood a few feet away from him.
"Finally." Negative in a dark tone.
"This is it…" Blake said intensely.
"This is his best chance of taking Taurus down once and for all and ending this threat." Ironwood said.
"Come on, Jaune." Yang quietly whispers. "Take him down."
"Sorry I'm late, it's kinda my thing." Spidey joked but still held a serious edge to it as he prepared himself for anything Adam had to throw at him.
Mr Negative went in right after Spider-Man with a punch, managing to deck him across the face. Luckily, Spidey recovered and fought back against him, kicking him and back and forth that forced him to take a few steps back.
This kept going until Spidey reached the end of the car, causing him to flip back away from Adam to gain some distance, leaping off the poles and tackled right into him, causing them both to crash into the next car.
Mr Negative slowly got up as two of his henchmen stood beside their leader.
"Why are you doing this?" Spider-Man asks.
"Paying off an old debt." Mr Negative says as he immediately drains the energy off the two men beside him, causing them both to drop to the floor as Adam was re-energized.
"We still don't know what Adam wants to kill Weiss's dad." Ruby said.
"What could he have done to him that made him do all of this?" Pyrrha asks.
"Probably not much…" Weiss mutters.
He began charging up a powerful attack that he immediately let loose on Jaune. Luckily his Spider Sense warned him of this as Jaune leapt to the side of the train car, dodging a powerful blast that ripped through the train car.
"Better keep my distance for now." Spidey mutters to himself as that last blast forced him back. He slowly edged up towards Adam as he continued to keep blasting at Spider-Man.
He kept doing this until he found an opening to attack, and after a few more blasts, Adam hunched over after overwhelming himself, leaving him open. "Time to finish this." Spidey says as he leapt towards Adam and started beating him down. But Adam had enough of this and pushed Spider-Man back a few feet with a quick negative blast.
Spider-Man moved closer once more as Adam kept throwing blaster after blast at Spider-Man, even at the point where he jumped up to the ceiling to avoid being blasted from below.
Once Adam got overwhelmed, Jaune launched himself towards him and started beating him down again, right up until Adam suddenly grabbed Spider-Man by the throat.
"You're sick." Jaune grunted. "Let me help you, Adam." Jaune pleaded Adam violently slammed Jaune against the side of the car and started punching him in the face.
"There's no helping something that is far gone." Ironwood said in a serious tone.
Blake lowered her head over his words.
Adam then grabbed Spider-Man and hurled the both of them off the train and right into another train passing by, crashing through the window and into a crowd of people as Adam continued beating him down as the people ran away in terror.
Come on, Jaune, don't let this jerk take you down!" Nora cried out in encouragement for her leader.
Spider-Man then suddenly webbed Adam in the face, causing him to stop and try and get the webbing of him as Spider-Man got himself up in the air and kicked Adam across the face. Spidey stepped back away, leaping back and forth across the train as Adam relentlessly kept firing blast after blast after him. Spider-Man moved up and attempted to stop him.
"I don't wanna hurt you!" Spider-Man calls out as he is kicked to the ground by Adam.
"Nothing can hurt me. Not anymore." Adam declares as he starts beating down Spider-Man again. He pulls his fist back, charging with negative energy to end Spider-Man once and for all.
Time slowed down for Spider-Man as he quickly jabs Taurus in the face, blinding him as he staggers back in pain. As he was left open, Spidey jumped, fired two web lines behind Taurus and lunged himself onto him, kicking him back into the train's control panel, shocking him with electricity as he yelled out in pain until he fell to the ground unconscious.
"Nice!" Yang cheered." Adam's down for the count.
"Yes, but the train's control system is down!" Weiss recalled in a grave tone. "The train is going to crash!"
Yang's face dropped in worry as she turned back to the screen.
"What's Jaune going to do?" Velvet asked.
Spider-Man walked over to Adam to see he was indeed unconscious. Unfortunately, that wasn't the end of his problems. The brakes were completely destroyed.
"No brakes? No problem." Spider-Man said with confidence as he stood in front of the train. He began firing a series of web shots that helped to create two web cables that connected to the walls of the passing loop.
He pulled his arms back and used his strength to try and pull back against it to slow down the train…
Ruby turned to Penny and asked. "Would that work?"
"Given the speed of the train and the strength of the webbing…"
…But as the train went through the hole, the webs immediately snapped.
"I...do not believe so." Penny regretfully said.
"Well crap…" Sun muttered.
Spider-Man grunted at his plan not working. "That totally worked last time." Spidey groaned until he looked ahead to see that he was about to collide with another train. Spider-Man then got another idea as he leaded off the train and up upon the ceiling. "Blake, they still doing construction on 42nd and 1st?"
"Yeah, street's closed for another month. Why?" The police captain asks as Spider-Man fires a large spray of webbing onto the tracks and proceeds to use his spider strength to pull it up towards him. This caused the train to veer upwards as it crashed its way up to the surface level where it crashed on its side.
"That's why…" Yang said.
Blake sighed. "Thank you for clearing that up, Yang." Blake dryly said.
"At least no one was hurt from that." Ren said.
"Yeah. But something tells me he's gonna get a lot of flak from Jameson from that." Weiss said.
"And from what we've seen, it's gonna be a lot." Velvet said.
Inside of the wreck, Adam Taurus was struggling to get up and feebly attempted to get himself out of it as Spider-Man landed right near him.
Ironwood sighed in relief. "At least it's over now."
"Yes, over…" Ozpin said, though he knew inside that it probably wasn't the case. A worrying feeling within him.
"Well done on Mr Arc's part." Winter complimented.
And don't forget Pyrrha!" Nora said out loud. "She helped too!"
Pyrrha blushed at the praise while Ren nodded in agreement.
"Next stop, prison." Spider-Man announces to the defeated Mr Negative.
In the aftermath, Adam Taurus was currently strapped down as he was being moved inside a prison convoy van by Sable Agents, all the while he held a glare on his face during this.
The Sable Agents were also securing the Devil's Breath inside of a secure transport.
"Hmm," Winter frowned at the sight. "While I am glad, they secured the Devil's Breath. I would be much more comfortable if they handed it over to someone other than my father."
"On that, we can agree on, Ice Queen." Qrow says before taking a drink.
"Get that cargo back to the lab. Let's move!" A Sable Agent called out as they closed the doors and the van drove away from the area.
Meanwhile, perched on a nearby building watching this, was Jaune, as he was currently trying to call Pyrrha.
"This is Pyrrha Nikos. Please leave a detailed message and I'll get back to you as soon as I can." The automated voice of Pyrrha spoke.
"Are they gonna be okay?" Nora discreetly whispered to Ren.
Ren looked up at Pyrrha, who was watching the screen with a worried look. "I hope so."
"They just helped take down Adam. Maybe things will be okay between." Ruby said optimistically.
"I doubt it's that simple, Ruby." Weiss said.
"Uh, hey. It's me. Lemme know when you want to talk." Jaune said as he webbed himself up onto a radio tower. Until he immediately got a text from Pyrrha.
"Not rdy to talk yet"
"Texting isn't talking?" Jaune asks as he texts back to her.
"OK. It's over, btw" Jaune's text read as he swung off the tower.
"Over? OK fine" Pyrrha's text read, causing Jaune to panic.
"N-n-no-no-no, not that kind of over!" Jaune said as he quickly texted back to her.
Qrow groans at the interaction on screen. "Y'know It'd be a lot easier if you two would just talk face to face, right?"
"I'd be far too complicated, Uncle Qrow." Yang waved off.
"Yeah, sure." Qrow said, rolling his eyes. "Kids these days."
"Tell me about it." Tai said in agreement.
"I meant Taurus."
"I beat him."
Jaune groans as he casually jumps off the building he was on and continues web swinging.
"Oh…" Pyrrha's text said.
Jaune groans at this as he responds back to her.
Do you want it to be "over"?" Jaune's text asks.
"Please say no, please say no…" Jaune begged as he waited for a response.
"Please say no," Pyrrha joined in.
"No." Pyrrha's text read, causing Jaune to be massively relieved.
"Hah. Okay, okay…" Jaune said as he hung upside down from a crane.
But then he got another text from Pyrrha. "But maybe it should be."
"Aaaand, not okay." Jaune deadpanned.
Pyrrha groans as she hangs her head down in despair, Nora rubbing her back in comfort.
"Oh, what a shame." Kali said with a sympathetic look.
"Tell me about it." Saphron muttered.
"Need some time to figure some things out." Pyrrha's next text read.
"What is there to "figure out?" Jaune asks as he reluctantly responds back.
"Sure. Me too."
"Think we both had different ideas about this 'partner' thing." Pyrrha's text read out.
"Oh, you think?" Jaune said with clear sarcasm.
"I need to do some work,"
"I'll call you tomorrow."
"Maybe."
Jaune sighs at this outcome. "Great." Jaune mutters as he looks over his city. At least Taurus was stopped and the Devil's Breath is secure. So that was at least a win for him.
Man, what a downer ending." Sun commented as the screen turned itself off.
"Still, at least the nightmare is over." Velvet sighed.
"Hmm," Ozpin hums to himself, still not convinced that it is over yet.
Ruby looked up back at View. "So, is that it? Is that the end of this world?" Ruby asked.
"Not yet." View answers, causing the audience to look back at him in confusion.
"What do you mean?" Weiss asked. "Adam has been defeated and the Devil's Breath is secured.
"Yeah, what else is there?" Yang asked.
View gave a sigh at those questions. "There's a lot more to show, which I will show soon. But understand this, the next we see it, things will be very different. And not in a way you'd expect."
"I don't like the sound of that." Nora said with a worried tone.
"No, neither do I, Nora." Ren said in agreement with his childhood friend. "Neither do I."
Thanks for reading this chapter of Worlds of Arc.
Now I have some good news in regards of the rest of the Spider-Man PS4 storyline. Other than writing down the reactions and spellchecking it, They're essentially finished, meaning I might be able to publish them out sooner.
Now from this point forward, I have all the rest of the final chapters planned out. Admittedly, it's mainly the rest of Spider-Man, a few more of Ben 10 from Season 1 and one chapter based on a series I keep getting requests on. But that's about it. I may spend most of my time writing in advancement on the rest of the chapters.
Also, I saw the story trailer for Spider-Man 2, and it looks really good! Venom especially. I know it might not happen. But I think it would be really cool to play as Venom like in the Ultimate Spider-Man game.
Next chapter, we return once more to the world of the Omnitrix, where Jaune will be facing a deadly sea monster. Thanks and see you around!
