Knitting you a sweater
A long and tired sigh escapes her lips as she leaves her fountain pen on the desk and leans back on the chair, closing her eyes to let them rest for a moment and forget about the amalgam of blurry words and stains of ink clouding her vision.
How long has it been? A couple of days? Maybe even more?
Yae isn't sure how long she has been shut up in Sara's office at the Tenshukaku, locked up in between those four walls reading and correcting the manuscripts she took with her from her office in the Yae Publishing House by order of a very concerned Archon and an equally, if not more, worried and cautious dark purple haired general after have got a letter threatening her safety.
Another tired sigh escapes her lips as she opens her eyes and lets them wander around the office out of boredom, looking at its minimalist design while stretching her muscles, hearing her joins crack upon not have been able to do anything else besides of correcting manuscripts and take some occasional strolls within the palace's walls, before having to go back to lock up in her girlfriend's office.
As she raises from the chair to walk around the large room for a bit, she can't help but take with her a thick jacket to shelter herself from the cold winter air seeping in through the windows and hitting her frame making her shiver, walking then closer to one of the windows to observe the scenery outside, timid snowflakes falling and wetting the windowsill.
A soft smile draws on her lips at such beauty, before she chuckles at the vigilant crow perched on it looking puffed with its feathers ruffled.
A giggle escapes her lips, before she opens the window, hissing at the cold air hitting her frame despite her thick jacket to find a pair of piercing golden eyes meeting hers.
- Come on, get inside. It's getting too cold.
She tells the crow, hearing it cawing in disagreement, before hoping away from her.
- Fine, do whatever you want.
She mumbles as she closes the window and rests her head against it to see the crow ruffling its feathers once more at the cold weather.
Such a stubborn woman.
Yae thinks to herself, and even though she loves how Sara adopted her bird form to take care of her and protect her from any possible danger stalking her, perched on the windowsill outside her own office watching any suspicious movement ready to attack, she also knows it's too cold for her to be out all day.
Another sigh escapes her lips at her girlfriend's stubbornness, walking away to flop on the small couch Sara has on the office while snuggling more into the warmth of her thick jacket, when an idea comes to her mind.
With a smile, she walks closer to the window once again to tap its glass a couple of times to catch Sara's attention, seeing her crow girlfriend outside it turning her head to look at her.
- I'm going to ask the servants something. I'll come back in a bit.
She tells the bird general so she doesn't worry, seeing her nodding, before going back to watch her surroundings while Yae strolls down the Tenshukaku's corridors until she comes across an elder white haired woman.
- Mochizuki-san, could you please do me a favor?
Yae asks politely, seeing the elder woman smiling back at her softly.
- Of course, Lady Guuji.
- Could you please…
Yae asks the elder woman, seeing her smiling at her kindly while nodding.
- I'll make sure to have your order ready for tomorrow, my lady.
The woman says softly, bowing, before she goes back to her chores while Yae goes back to Sara's office ready to get some rest.
The following morning, a knock on the door pulls her out of her corrections, opening the door to find the elder white haired woman at the other side with a box in her hands and a kind smile on her lips.
- Here's the order you made, Lady Guuji.
- Thank you, Mochizuki-san.
- If you need any help or require something else, please don't hesitate to call for me.
The elder woman bids her goodbye to continue with her chores in the palace, bowing in respect, before Yae closes the door with the box in her hands to quickly walk to the couch to open it.
As soon as she does it, she can't help but smile at the sight of the bag full of seeds inside it, the black small bowl beside it and the couple of skeins of dark purple wool accompanying them.
A grin replaces her smile as she thinks on what she'll do with the items inside the box, taking the bag to put a generous amount of seeds on the small black bowl and walk with it towards the window, opening it to find her beloved and very protective crow girlfriend perched vigilant on its windowsill.
Yae can only giggle at her puffed look, thinking on how stubborn she can be prefering to be out in the cold instead of inside with her while being warm, before she shakes the small layer of snow on the windowsill to place the bowl full of seeds on it.
She can already see Sara looking at it then at her, imagining her arching at eyebrow at her if she was in her human form.
- Oh come on, amuse me a bit, would you?
She asks her playfully, hearing Sara cawing, before she hops closer to begin eating the seeds inside the bowl and Yae swears she's the cutest thing she ever saw.
The pink haired woman can only stare in awe at her bird girlfriend, stroking her shiny black plumage, before her hands wrap the crow's small body in a soft way not wanting to hurt her, hearing Sara cawing in distress while flapping her wings making her giggle and let go of her.
- Fine, fine. I'll let you eat in peace.
She says while grinning having got her purpose, seeing Sara resume her eating yet looking at her intensely much to her amusement, before she finds the bowl completely empty.
- Wait a second.
She tells the crow, quickly taking the bowl inside with her to then reappear with it once again, leaving it on the windowsill this time full of water.
Sara doesn't even complain, quickly drinking it to her girlfriend's further amusement and delight.
- Aw, you're such a good bird.
Yae says playfully, scratching Sara's feathery chin imagining the deep blush that would tint her girlfriend's cheeks if she was in her human form, hearing her cawing with what resembles a grumble, before stepping away returning to her position to keep watching their surroundings.
Yae can only chuckle, before getting back inside and closing the window behind her, seeing the crow puffing up again to shelter herself from the cold yet still shiver slightly.
The priestess rolls her eyes at her stubborn girlfriend and leaves the bowl on the desk to walk to the couch and take out of the box one of the skeins inside it and a couple of needles, and for once, the day flies by knitting.
On the fifth day of her forced lock up, Yae can't help but smile at the small dark purple knitted sweater in her hands, giggling, before she hides it and goes to open the window to greet her beloved bird girlfriend.
- Good morning, my little bird – she greets the crow outside rather chirpy, imaging Sara arching an eyebrow at her upon her suspicious behavior while she giggles – Can you come inside for a brief moment, please?
She practically begs Sara, pouting to see the crow walking hesitantly to then jump inside her own office. Quickly, Yae closes the window so Sara can't escape and leads her to the center of the room, a bowl full of seeds waiting for her.
- I've made you breakfast.
She tells her, seeing Sara looking at her rather distrusted even in her bird form, before she hops closer to begin eating the seeds. The pink haired woman grins widely at this and takes advantage of this distraction to catch her bird girlfriend by surprise, waiting for her to finish swallowing her meal to then pinch her beak close and put the small dark purple sweater she knitted on her.
As soon as Yae lets her beak free, Sara begins to caw and flap her wings, looking distressed at the knitted sweater on her.
- Ow, don't be like that. I've knitted it so you wouldn't be cold, my sweet and very protective little bird.
Yae says with the saddest voice she can muster, pouting as she sees her bird girlfriend glaring at her but quickly stopping "fighting" the sweater, her charms undoubtedly working on her.
- Aw, aren't you a cute little bird?
Yae teases Sara now, scratching her feathered chin imagining Sara blushing, before she sees her girlfriend hoping away from her touch and towards the window, waiting for her to open it again so she can fly out and go back to her position watching the outside of the office for any danger.
The pink haired woman can only chuckle, yet smile seeing how her stubborn girlfriend doesn't seem to shiver out of cold anymore while looking cute in her knitted sweater.
The following morning, Yae is greeted with the sight of snowflakes falling and covering the scenery around her of pure white.
Tightening the thick jacket around her to shelter herself from the cold, she quickly makes her way to look outside, snow piling up on the windowsill, and on top of it watching diligently their surroundings, her beloved girlfriend with her small dark purple knitted sweater on.
- I knew you'd like it – she giggles as she opens the window to greet Sara, seeing the crow glaring at her with her intense golden eyes – You look soooo cute in it~
She teases her, scratching Sara's head hearing her cawing in return. Yae can only smile and leave a soft kiss on the crow's head, before she leaves her alone, happy upon knowing that her girlfriend is warm while still having to be outside for who knows how long.
That same evening, a knock on the door pulls her out of her corrections, lifting her gaze from the manuscript in her hands to see a very handsome and not amused general entering her own office with a small familiar dark purple knitted sweater hanging of one of her long fingers.
- Really, Yae?
It's all Sara says, hearing Yae giggling as she places the manuscript on the couch and skips to leave a chaste kiss on her girlfriend's lips.
- Oh come on, admit you love it and it keeps you warm.
She says playfully, winking at her as she sees Sara looking away with a cute yet stubborn blush adorning her cheeks.
This only makes Yae grin widely and amused, hugging Sara's arm tightly while making her look at her to kiss her properly after days of not have been able to do it.
- Maybe I should knit you a sweater to match with your human form.
She tells her while giggling, seeing Sara blushing harder.
- Please don't.
The dark purple haired general grumbles embarrassed while both women get out of Sara's office after the menace that threatened the priestess' safety seemed to have been neutralized.
Much to Sara's dismay, Yae does knit her a sweater to match with her bird one, and much to Yae's delight, Sara ends up wearing it, but only in the privacy of their home.
