Thanks for the reviews. I have considered the opinions of the people that had input for the pairings and it will not be Ginny or Hermione. At the moment I am considering either Susan or Parvati. I will not have any sort of relationship start until at least the Yule Ball, so there is plenty of time for suggestions.

With Slytherin's monster defeated the teachers and headmaster decided to send the students home early. The only students that would be remaining in the castle would be those students who had to take their OWLs and NEWTs.
The next morning at breakfast Hedwig appeared with a letter for him. Harry read the letter while the rest of the students were excitedly talking about what they were going to do with the extra summer vacation.
Mr. Potter,
I have some things that I would like to discuss with you concerning your actions in the Chamber of Secrets. The password for my office is Snickers. Please come see me once you are finished with your breakfast and have packed your trunk.
Professor Dumbledore.
As he finished the letter he glanced at the head table and saw that Dumbledore was looking at him. Harry nodded in his direction and then listened to the students around him.
Ron was currently talking to Hermione (who had been given the mandrake draught overnight) about what she wanted to do over the holidays.
"My parents are dentists so they will be working most of the time during the day. I will probably spend most of my free time reading and working on my summer homework. At some point during the break we will go on vacation. We usually go somewhere during the summer. I believe we were talking about going to France this year."
Ron looked at Harry and Harry said "I'm going to be with my relatives so I am going to do whatever they need me to do and then I am going to stay out of their way. I don't really know what I will be doing.
There is no way that I am going to let them mistreat me like they did the last time. I am going to do what I want to while still being somewhat respectful of my guardians. If they do anything to harm me, however, I will leave and never return. Harry thought with a smirk appearing on his face.
Harry took the time to look around the hall as he ate and saw most of the students happily talking to their friends. Susan and Hannah were animatedly talking about something at the Hufflepuff table. Malfoy was talking with his friends and occasionally looking at Harry with a look of anger. The Ravenclaw prefect that had been petrified was looking a little anxious but would occasionally look in Percy's direction.
Harry got up and began to leave the hall when he saw that Dumbledore's seat at the head table was empty. He decided to talk to Dumbledore before he headed to the Gryffindor common room.
When he arrived he found that Dumbledore was sitting behind his desk looking at some of the trinkets and gadgets that were in front of him. His future knowledge allowed him to know that the headmaster was looking at the protections that were placed on Privet Drive.
"You wanted to see me, Headmaster."
"Yes, I did." Dumbledore began. "I want you to tell me why you went down to the chamber to rescue Ginny when you could have told some your teachers instead."
Harry looked at him and began to get a little angry. "Professor, I am beginning to lose my trust in some of the adults that you have at this school. Last year, you had a professor that tried to kill me and had Voldemort on the back of his head. You had protections around the Flamel's stone that first years could get past. When I told a professor that I had suspicions that the stone was going to be stolen nothing was done. This year you hired an idiot that taught us absolutely nothing and again attacked me and Ron. The only reason we weren't obliviated was because Ron's wand was broken. Also why did no one take Ron to get a new wand?"
Dumbledore tried to say something but Harry cut him off. Harry wasn't done with his rant.
"Professor Snape belittles me more than any other student he teaches but only rewards and respects those in his house. All he does is tell us what we are working on and then points to the directions on the board and tells us to start. How are most of his students going to do well in that class with absolutely no teaching being done. You have an abysmal History of Magic professor and almost all of the students use that class to sleep. What I have read in Hogwarts, A History says that Hogwarts is the best school in Britain, it must be the only school in Britain because half of the classes taught are abysmal. I have helped to protect this school twice from Voldemort but how am I rewarded. I get to go back to my aunt and uncles to again be mistreated, abused, and malnourished."
Dumbledore was currently not looking at Harry. He was looking at his desk and was feeling ashamed. Most of the portraits of past headmasters were shaking their heads and Harry could hear a couple of them whispering about his disrespect toward the current headmaster. Harry could tell that Dumbledore was thinking of the best way to respond.
"Harry, I understand that you are upset but there are reasons that I have done what I have done with regards to Professor Snape and your aunt and uncle. I am terribly sorry that I have been inattentive with regards to the safety of you and the rest of the students this year and last year. I will do the best that I can to make sure that you and the rest of the students are safe from here on out."
Before Dumbledore could continue, Harry interrupted him.
"Sir, I understand that there are reasons that you have done what you have done in the past, but how many dark lords have you seen. You were once friends with Grindelwald and something happened to cause the two of you to separate and become enemies.
Dumbledore looked at Harry in shock. "How do you know- "
"I am not done professor. You saw what Tom was like as a child and teenager and did nothing to change his circumstances. You left him to return to the orphanage that he hated and allowed him to become one of the most dangerous people in Britain. You teach people that it is important to constantly give chances to people that have done bad things. Yes, it is important to allow people an opportunity to turn away from their bad choices. However, when it is evident that they are not going to do so why would you continue to believe that things will change."
"Let me give you an example, sir. In the last war many people would stun and temporarily restrain death eaters or take chances that allowed them to escape. If you stun someone, then their friends can revive them and then you are right back where you started. Your "for the greater good" philosophy has done a great deal of harm to our community. I know you fear that by teaching spells that can be considered "grey" or "dark" you are creating the possibility for Voldemort to have more followers, but how will we know what we are being attacked with or how to dodge it? Ultimately, it is intent that really matters when it comes to spell casting."
Dumbledore looked at Harry thoughtfully and wondered where the change in the boy came from. "My boy, I hear what you are saying and I would like for you to further explain your thoughts about intent before I address some of your other concerns."
"Of course, Headmaster."
Harry explained to the headmaster that any spell could cause harm to another individual. He explained that a wizard could cast a Lumos that could be bright enough and pointed at the eyes of someone else and could temporarily blind them or that they could use the water charm to drown someone. He also told Dumbledore that he thought that it should be expressed to the students that should they use the spells that they are being taught in a negative way than their wands will be snapped, they will be expelled, and if severe enough, sent to Azkaban. By not teaching the students all the spells that we can then we are hindering those that are entering the world as adults.
"Sir, with Professors like Snape and Binns we are creating further issues. How many people have repeated something that has happened in the past because the only thing that we learn from History of Magic is about Goblin Rebellions? How well staffed are the Aurors or Healers due to potions being a requirement. I understand you trust Snape but his teaching methods will cause harm in the long run."
"Sir, my last point before I ask you for permission to leave revolves around my relatives. I know that you put protections up for me and I will return to them this summer but if they do anything that is considered abuse of any kind I will leave and never return. I barely consider it a home and I know that the protections only protect me as long as I can consider Privet Drive a home."
At this point, Dumbledore was beginning to worry about the boy sitting in front of him and told him he wanted to have the boy checked by Madam Pomphrey he could come willingly, or he would be stunned and taken to the hospital wing, anyway.
As Dumbledore pointed his wand at the boy Harry smiled and thought "Death, I do not wish to hold any of your objects in this time you are more than welcome to take them back."
Harry looked at Dumbledore and said "I am not going."
Harry watched as a black shadow appeared around the Elder Wand and it disappeared.
Dumbledore looked slightly frightened at the fact that the Elder Wand had disappeared. He looked at Harry and nodded slightly.
"I will consider the things that you have told me today, Harry. I do, however, need to know why you have changed so much recently."
Harry grinned. "You wouldn't believe me if I told you."
"Harry," Dumbledore started, "you would be surprised at what I would believe. As long as you mean no harm to the Wizarding World, I might even be willing to help you."
"Sir, I will tell you but you cannot tell anyone what I have told you."
Dumbledore agreed and Harry told him about how Voldemort had returned and that many people died before he (Harry) could defeat him. He then told him how Death had given him a chance to return and prevent all of the loss from occurring again. He also explained that death had taken all of his items from Harry once they were all in his possession and that him wishing for the objects to be removed from this time caused them to disappear. Harry ended the explanation saying that he was going to let most of the stuff continue as it had before but make changes that would allow for different outcomes to occur.
"Harry, I believe you mean no harm to the rest of the Wizarding World, therefore I agree to keep your secret." He opened a drawer in his desk and pulled out another wand. Harry assumed that this was Dumbledore's original wand.
"I, Albus Dumbledore, swear to not repeat any of the information about Harry having knowledge of future events or his plan to improve our society without his approval." Dumbledore's wand glowed as the oath was completed.
"Harry, the train will be leaving shortly and I will not keep you any longer. Enjoy your summer to the best of your ability and let me know if there is anything I can do for you. I will reach out to you over the summer to discuss more with you."
Harry nodded, walked out of the Headmaster's Office, and headed to Gryffindor Tower to pack before heading home to the Dursley's for a much better summer than any he had experienced in the previous timeline.
