Shortly after the little Christmas party, the conversation between Alastor and Angel kept replaying in Alastor's head. His big confession to Angel turned into a disaster. Angel just thought that Alastor would have been better off without him. True Alastor is asexual but he has fallen in love with Angel; not for his body, but his charming personality. Angel's words rang in Alastor's ears, 'And what makes you think that someone like me could end up with someone like you?'
Alastor stayed at the hotel bar while everyone else was asleep. He was on his fourth cup of absinthe; the green fairy that makes every man a visionary. Husk kept a bottle of it for rough nights and it was clear that Alastor had a rough night. It was the same thing every minute; Alastor poured the absinthe into his glass; one, two, three, drink. Pour and then one, two, three, drink. Over and over until Alastor lost count of the cups of absinthe he had taken. Alastor continued to drink more and more; trying to numb the pain of Angel's harsh words. The more he drank, the more his vision became terrible.
After his tenth cup, he began to see and hear things. He heard Angel's soft voice calling his name. Standing in front of Alastor was Angel himself wearing a short tight dark green dress with fairy wings, staring at Alastor with a flirty look. Alastor reached out to touch Angel but he slipped and fell off the stool he was sitting on. He looked up from the ground and saw that Angel was gone. Alastor rubbed his throbbing head, "I'm starting to see things." he muttered.
As he slowly got up and tried to walk to his room, the sounds of Angel's voice echoed in his head, calling for him. A red haze suddenly filled the hallway; curiously, Alastor went into the haze still hearing Angel's voice. Like a siren's song, Alastor was under a spell desperate to find Angel.
Angel:
Word to the wise, my dear
Never fall in love with a woman or man who sells themselves
Italwaysends badly
Then in the red haze, Alastor spotted Angel in a long red dress standing next to Valentino who was grinning like a maniac.
Alastor:
His eyes upon your face
Valentino roughly grabbed Angel's hand and pulled him close. Alastor's eyes turned to radio dials seeing Valentino hurting his angel.
His hand upon your hand
Valentino licked Angel's neck "lovingly" which annoyed Alastor even more.
His lips caress your skin
Alastor clawed at Valentino, but he and Angel turned into red smoke before Alastor could attack.
It's more than I can stand
Angel
You don't have to wear that dress tonight
Walk these streets for money
You don't care if it's wrong or if it is right
Alastor looked around and then spotted Angel with a very horny Travis. He tried to get to Angel again but the two just vanished when Alastor reached out.
Angel
You don't have to put on the red light
Angel
You don't have to put on the red light
Shadows circled him dancing in a tango. Alastor frantically looked around for Angel to save him, to protect him.
Alastor/(Shadows):
(Angel) Put on the red light
(Angel) Put on the red light
(Angel) Put on the red light
(Angel) Put on the red light
(Angel) Put on the red light
(Angel) Put on the red light
Out of the blue, Angel appeared in front of Alastor still wearing that red dress. Alastor's cheeks flushed pink as Angel leaned in closer to Alastor. His hand caressed Alastor's chin then he leaned into his ear. "Ti amo troppo, Alastor. Mi hai lasciato in un tango." Angel whispered.
Angel pulled away and tried to walk away but Alastor grabbed his arm. The two began to dance a tango, neither one willing to let go. Sparks were just flying between Alastor and Angel and their wonderful dancing. Alastor couldn't help but stare into Angel's beautiful eyes. The two stopped dancing then Angel leaned in close to kiss Alastor. Alastor did the same and closed his eyes, ready to receive a kiss from his angel. All of a sudden, red smoke formed around Angel's wrists and neck. He was then pulled away from Alastor just before they could kiss. Alastor opened his eyes and watched as Angel was being pulled away from him.
(Angel) Put on the red light
(Angel) Put on the red light
(Angel) Put on the red light
(Angel) Put on the red light
Alastor grabbed the ends of his ears in frustration, hating the fact that he just let Angel go from his grasp.
Help me I'm holding on for dear life (Angel)
Help me I'm holding on for dear life (Angel)
Alastor fell to his knees, clutching his chest like he was in pain. He could hear his heart beating loud, catching feelings he just couldn't deny any longer.
Alastor:
Why does my heart cry?
Feelings I can't fight
Alastor looked up to see Angel fading away. He held out his right hand while his other hand still clutched his chest.
You're free to leave me but
Just don't deceive me
And, please, believe me when I say
I love you
The next thing Alastor knew, he collapsed to the ground and everything went black. Alastor moaned and groaned for a bit then he opened his eyes. He found himself in a bed but it wasn't in his room. He didn't remember even going to bed last night in the first place. His head was pounding like a drum from the hangover. The lights hurt his eyes as he stood up on the bed. He found a glass of water and painkillers on the bedside table. He took the pills and then gulped down the water. It took a few seconds for the pills to kick in but it was worth it. Alastor looked around the room to try and make sense of where he was.
He felt something on his lap moving; he looked down to see that it was Angel's pet pig who was sleeping on top of Alastor's lap. That was went he realized that he was in Angel's room. He looked around for Angel to ask a few questions. He spotted Angel on his balcony, wearing a bathrobe, and smoking a cigarette. Alastor slipped off the bed and then casually walked up to Angel. Alastor stood beside Angel; neither one had spoken to the other for some time. At least, until Alastor broke the silence. "Angel, why did you help me last night?" Alastor calmly asked.
Angel smoked on the cigarette for a second then turned to Alastor. "Call it a returned favor for... everything you did for me." Angel softly answered.
"For showing you kindness?" Alastor said, confused about what Angel said.
"No, for treating me like I was normal and not a slut." Angel spoke, "I didn't want to hurt you, Al. The truth is, I have feelings for you too. But I didn't want to risk Valentino knowing about my crush on you and finding a way to use it against me. I thought that if I had just let you down easy by saying that we couldn't happen was the right thing. But then I saw you completely drunk last night and you were calling my name. And I... I..." Angel suddenly broke into tears.
Alastor pulled out a handkerchief from his pocket and then began to dub away Angel's tears streaming down his face. The gentle touch from Alastor caught Angel's attention. "There, there, mon cheri. You look better with a smile." Alastor said.
Angel sniffled then he touched Alastor's hand. "Why do you like me Alastor? I'm just a..."
"Stop, Angel." Alastor interrupted, "I fell for your beauty, your smile, your laugh, your charming personality. No one dared to get to know me because they were terrified of me. But you... You, mon ange, didn't find me terrifying. You make me feel like I can be myself in front of you. I love you, Angel Dust."
And then, Alastor leaned in and kissed Angel on the lips; this time Angel didn't hesitate to kiss Alastor back. Romantic sparks were flying between the two as they pulled away from the kiss.
Alastor:
I don't need you to sell me on reasons to want you
I don't need you to search for the proof that I should
You don't have to convince me
You don't have to be scared you're not enough
'Cause what we've got going is good
Angel wanted to speak but Alastor put a finger to his lips to quiet him.
I don't need more reminders of all that's been broken
I don't need you to fix what I'd rather forget
Clear the slate and start over
Try to quiet the noises in your head
We can't compete with all that
Alastor then took Angel's hand and then pulled him into the bedroom.
So what if it's us?
What if it's us
And only us
And what came before won't count anymore or matter?
Can we try that?
What if it's you
And what if it's me
And what if that's all that we need it to be
And the rest of the world falls away?
What do you say?
Angel:
I never thought there'd be someone like you who would want me
Even though Alastor never liked anyone touching him, mostly his ears. He let Angel and only Angel touch his ear.
So I give you ten thousand reasons to not let me go
Angel then strokes Alastor's ears lovingly, knowing that Alastor isn't leaving him.
But if you really see me
If you like me for me and nothing else
Well, that's all that I've wanted for longer than you could possibly know
So it can be us
It can be us
And only us
And what came before won't count anymore or matter
We can try that
The two of them then held each other by the waist and twirled around the room together.
Alastor/Angel:
It's not so impossible
Angel:
Nobody else but the two of us here
Alastor/Angel:
'Cause you're saying it's possible
Alastor:
We can just watch the whole world disappear
Alastor/Angel:
'Til you're the only one
I still know how to see
It's just you and me
