"Yeah, yeah, I know, I'm getting it right now."
Jiang Cheng hung up on Wei Wuxian before he could get a response. That idiot, as Jiang Cheng liked to call him, had already inflicted enough stress on him without sending him into his rundown kitchen to look for cereal as 11:00 at night.
Plotting ways to get back at him, he turned to the cabinets, all identical in their rectangular shape and large size; all were in different states of disrepair. He noticed one in particular that was hanging off it's hinges, and decided that it would be the first one he checked.
In hindsight, he should've known that the one that looked most like it was hanging on for dear life was the one that shouldn't be checked immediately. Unfortunately, the scalding summer heat was taking a toll on him. Or maybe thsi was just how he was.
Either way, he did it. And suffered the consequences for it.
"Now lets see..." he fumbled his way through the various items in the cabinet, grimacing when his hand met cobwebs or something that felt like it was rotting.
Jiang Cheng didnt want his mind to linger on the rather foul state Wei Wuxian's kitchen, focusing fully on the task at hand: finding Froot Loops for that boy-- something "yuan" or whatever -- the one that was always sticking to Wei Wuxian at all times.
Finally, his hand hit something that seemed to feel like a box, and he began to slide it out of the cabinet.
This was his first mistake.
His second mistake was not noticing how the rest of the contents of the cabinet seemed to be moving along with the cereal.
He successfully got the Froot Loops out of the crooked wooden box, and began to make his way to exit the kitchen. He was about to take a step when he saw an odd shadow on the floor. His head wasn't that big, so what was...
CRASH-
Every single object inside of the cupboard landed on top of Jiang Cheng. It almost seemed neverending, and even a few things from the neighboring cabinets fell as well. His head was pounding, and his vision turned fuzzy as his head slammed against the cool tiled floor.
"Hey, Jiang Cheng? what's taking you so long? you left ten minutes ago..."
Jiang Cheng has lost all motivation to move, much less speak. He already knew what would be coming if Wei Wuxian ever saw this.
"... HAHAHAH" Wei Wuxian's laughter resounded throughout the entire room, only resulting in making Jiang Cheng feel worse than before.
Muffled sounds came from under the pile of cereals; still, that did not deter Wei Wuxian and his antics.
"Oh my- hang on" he was doubling over with laughter by this point, almost dropping his phone when he reached to take it out of his coat pocket.
"Haha, did you see what I sent you? Here I'll put you on speaker"
Jiang Yanli's voice suddenly filled the room.
"Pfft, what happened" she tried sounding as kind as possible, but this was simply too funny to not laugh at.
Jiang Cheng forced his head out of a carton of Froot Loops--well, at least he found the box-- and opened his mouth to start shouting at wwx and his broken down kitchen.
Just then, a toddler came waddling in, followed by a rather awkward man and a stern looking woman.
He padded over to the nearest cereal box and started munching on them.
The woman who came in with him immediately dragged him away from the wreckage, scolding him while plopping him into the arms of the other standing at the door "who taught you to eat off the floor!?!"
Of course, he pointed at Wei Wuxian, who backed away as soon as he saw Wen Qing glaring at him.
"Haha, uh, hold on now..not all of us are doctos you know..."
"Dont you know anything about basic hygiene?" She yelled while chasing him around the kitchen
"Three second rule counts!!!" he shrieked when he got hit with a cereal box.
And all through this, Jiang Cheng was still miserably trapped lying on the floor.
"Ughhhhh..."
Jiang Cheng was NEVER, at all costs, getting cereal for Wei Wuxian ever again.
