It's Monday.
Time to hit the road.
The Schoppenboers woke up very early in the morning. The parents brewed a big batch of coffee, enough to give everyone an intense energy boost. Lots of food were also packed up for the trip.
Maya was the first of the sisters to wake up. She was very drowsy, yet was not suffering from withdrawals. She applied her usual perfume, grabbed an empty Stanley cup, opened it up, and opened up her bag. She took out one of her vodka bottles, which was covered in a layer of old newspapers and a thick old towel. Then, she poured the vodka in the cup, re-wrapped the bottle, and buried it in her bag again. Then, she walked up to the kitchen, where her parents were having their coffee.
"Hello, darling!", Mrs. Schoppenboer said as she noticed Maya.
"Hey, mom!", Maya said as she poured coffee in her cup.
"Excited for the trip?", Mrs. Schoppenboer asked.
"I sure am! I just hope the weather doesn't ruin it for us!"
Maya then began drinking her mixture of coffee and vodka. It didn't taste as bad as she thought it would, but it still wasn't a good taste.
"Haha, don't worry about that, darling!", Mrs. Schoppenboer replied. "I checked the weather forecast, and the only places that will have rain are very far away from us."
"Yeah, but you never know, you know?", Maya replied as she began to feel buzzed. "I've had lots of rain fall down on me before because I trusted the forecast too much."
"Haha, fair enough, Maya!", Mrs. Schoppenboer replied as she finished her coffee.
As Maya's cocktail kicked in, she felt unfamiliar effects. While the usual alcoholic euphoria was still there, she felt very energized instead of her usual drowsiness. In fact, this might've been her most euphoric drinking session in months. She has definitely mixed caffeine and alcohol before, but not in such a high quantity. She felt ready for virtually anything!
Meanwhile, Coco woke up and walked up to the kitchen. She looked very sleepy yet excited.
"Hey, everyone!", Coco said.
"Hey, Coco!", Maya replied. "How's it going?"
"I'm very excited for this trip, Maya!", Coco replied as she poured herself some coffee. "How about you?"
"Don't even get me started, Coco!", Maya replied. "I can't wait!"
"Me neither!", Coco replied.
"Haha, don't worry, girls!", Mr. Schoppenboer said. "We'll be going soon after everyone has their breakfast. By the way, is Mymy up?"
As soon as Coco was about to say something, Mymy came into the kitchen, marching, wearing a military uniform.
"Hello, compatriots!", Mymy shouted.
"Uh, hey, Mymy...", Maya said, very confused. "What's with the outfit?"
"We'll be showing those Portuguese people that we, the Dutch nation, aren't messing around this time!"
"Mymy, what are you talking ab-", Mrs. Schoppenboer was about to say.
"Brazil will be avenged!", Mymy interrupted.
"Mymy, those are-", Mrs. Schoppenboer was about to say before giving up. "Nevermind, just... don't act up too much, and get yourself some coffee."
"Alright, then...", Mymy said before pouring herself some coffee. "Anyway, when are we going on this trip?"
"After everyone is ready to go. All of you need to gets your bags ready after breakfast, then we'll take a train and go to the RV dealer. Got it?"
All of the sisters nodded.
Then, after finishing her breakfast, Maya went back to her room and checked her luggage.
"Alright, five of my bottles are here...", She thought. "But... I wonder if there's any way to smuggle more of them in. After all, who knows if I'll finish all of them before returning or not?"
She then looked around and found her school backpack.
"Hm...", Maya thought. "Maybe I can use that!"
She then emptied it and looked at her two other bottles.
"Do they fit inside?"
She then placed one bottle inside the backpack horizontally. It fitted in perfectly, and, when closed, it didn't even look like there was anything inside.
"Okay, now for the moment of truth..."
She then got her other bottle, wrapped it in a towel, and put it inside the backpack, on top of the other bottle. Then, she closed the bag up and gave it a gentle shake. No sound of the bottles hitting each other. She then shook it more violently and wiggled it around. Still no sound.
"Perfect! Now, for the final touch..."
She then took one of the bottles out and poured vodka in her Stanley cup, which was half-full of coffee, and shook it up a bit, making the same drink as that of her breakfast.
"There ya go! I won't be needing to take my bottle out for a long time!"
She then brushed her teeth, used her very strong, life-saving mouthwash, dressed up, and waited until her parents called. Meanwhile, she whipped out her phone and began texting her WhatsApp group, The Gang.
"Hey, guys!", She said. "My trip's gonna start real soon!"
"Have fun, honey!", Epke replied shortly later. "Send us some pics!"
"Yeah!", Cleo said.
"I will!", Maya replied.
"Have fun there, matey!", Kiki said.
"Thanks, Kiki!", Maya replied.
Then, out of the blue:
"Kids!", Mrs. Schoppenboer said out loud. "Are you ready? We need to go now!"
"Alright mom, I'm coming!", Maya replied before wearing her backpack and carrying her luggage to the living room.
Then, after all of the sisters got ready, the five all walked up to the train station, which was not far away from their home, and took a train to Amsterdam. Then, they went to the RV dealership, where a very kind man attended them.
"Hello, and welcome to Amsterdam Campers United!", He said. "How can I help you?"
"Hello, sir!", Mr. Schoppenboer said. "We're looking for an economical RV for five people. We have a long road trip to Portugal planned out!"
"Oh, Portugal, what a wonderful country!", The man replied. "I got just the right thing for you guys, come here!"
The man then guided the family to the dealership's parking lot, where there were RV's of all colors, kinds and sizes. At the very back of the parking lot, though, there was a very big white RV, just the one they were looking for.
"And, behold!", The dealership man said. "One of our two RV's for five people! And this is by far the most economical one!"
The man then began to show the RV around. It had three beds: two small single ones on the back and a queen-sized one in the front, at the top. There was also a kitchen with a stove, sink and a small fridge, a table to eat food on, a couch, and a flat screen TV.
"So, what do you think?", The man asked the parents when he was done showing the RV around.
"All sounds pretty good to me!", Mr. Schoppenboer replied. "How much is it?"
"It's €250 per night."
"Deal!"
They then went back inside the building, where the parents signed a contract and paid for the first night. The man then gave Mr. Schoppenboer the keys to the RV and guided them back to it. Everyone then put their luggage inside the RV's compartment and hopped inside.
"In case of any problems, give me a call!", The dealership man said as the family went inside the RV. "Have fun!"
The sisters then negotiated on where they'd sleep. Maya decided to get the top bed at the back, Mymy got the one below it, and Coco agreed to sleep on the couch.
After getting on her bed, Maya closed the curtain, put her backpack on the bed and opened it up. Then, she got her Stanley cup and checked the temperature of her cocktail.
"It's still hot, good.", She thought to herself. "Hopefully it'll stay like this by lunchtime!"
She then put the cup back in her bag and whipped out her phone. Then, she took a selfie and sent it to her friends.
"Trip's about to start!", The caption read.
Maya then watched outside her window as her father began driving the RV.
To be continued...
