Chapter One. The Death of Pines.

7:30 am The Hallways leading to the Dark Lord's chambers in Slytherin Castle.

Narcissa Black Malfoy was nervous. Whilst most of the time she loved her job as a healer for the Dark Lord, today was not part of that time, and this was one of the first time she had really failed in her duty, Joanna Goldfinch was currently laying dead on the operating table after suffering a very bad birth, which resulted in the deaths of both mother and child, needless to say she was very, very nervous.

As Narcissa strode up to the doors of doom, as the other death eaters called the Dark Lord's suite, despite her internal nervousness her body showed no such emotion carrying herself high as the Lady of the High House of Malfoy should, before appropriately cowering as she opened the door that most likely led to the room that held the Dark Lord.

"Misss Healer, it iss good to ssee you on thiss fine morning, I expect good newss." The Dark Lord said demandingly.

As The Healer nealt to the Dark Lord she soberly stated, "Unfortunately my Lord it was a difficult birth," pausing to collect herself, but after a moment of silence alongside bracing herself for the cruciatus curse, and the demanding gaze of her Lord she continued, "Both are dead my Lord, Both Mother and Child."

"Crucio!" The Dark Lord said coldly, looking more annoyed than angry, it seemed he was a true psycho.

"ARRRGHHH!!!!!" The Healer screamed, writhing in extreme agony.

Cancelling the curse the Dark Lord merely said, "Tell my assistant that my meetings are cancelled and I'm going to my therapy sessions somewhere in Edinburgh." before simply disappearing without a sound.

After the Dark Lord disappeared Narcissa sighed, all in all it wasn't as bad as it could be seeing as she was still breathing after all.

7:45 am Edinburgh, Residence of Emmaline and Daniel Pines.

The Pines would not agree with Narcissa Malfoy's deduction.

"FIENDFYRE!" The Dark Lord shrieked, burning the home he apparated to cursed ash, he laughed in glee hearing the screams of those filthy muggles, and by the smell of it a mud blood too!

Going for his next move he morphed the cursed flames into two basilisks made of fire directing them to destroy, next he hissed "Serpensortia!" in Parseltongue summoning a writhing sea made up of over four thousand black mambas, giant pythons and even a titanoboa or forty, casting a dark explosion curse or twenty all within a minute of getting there.

It. Was. Utter. Havoc.

Muggles running everywhere screaming in terror, some were already too far gone to run, screaming in pain they were burned to death, flesh melting of their body's, writhing as they were bitten by snakes poison flowing through their veins and it burned, some were swallowed by humongous snakes being dissolved, melted with burns going all the way up and down their body's, others were lucky, in that their deaths were quick or at least relatively so, like being pierced by the serpentine beasts fangs quickly bleeding to death or simply being decapitated.

The Dark Lord laughed, a high cold cruel laugh that sucked the life out of someone, it chilled the soul, burned the throat and sent shivers down their backs, the shear tone alone would make an adult hippogriff run in utter terror, "Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha." The Dark Lord's insane laughter reverberated through the Scottish capital.

As the aurors appeared they would either, be burned to cursed ash in fiend fire, ripped apart by snakes bites, melted in the stomach of a giant serpent, poisoned to death by a black mamba, impaled on either a giant serpent's fang or some sharp piece of rubble, blown to pieces with a dark explosion curse, or killed by a killing curse.

Twenty minutes earlier, seven thirty am the master bedroom of Potter manor fifteen and a half hours after Harry was born,

"Waaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh!!!" The baby screamed in mortal agony.

James, who had just stepped out of the master bedroom to get Lily and himself, but mainly Lil's some breakfast, came running back in as fast as he could before saying.

"Lil's is everything alright!?"

"I'm fine James," her quick response caused him to visibly brighten in relief before she continued.

"But I don't know what's going on with Harry!" She said louder than she meant to as Harry was still wailing and screamed at the top of his lungs.

"Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!," he continued to wail causing his parents to look at him worried.

"James, I've never heard anything about extreme pain in magical children shortly after birth, have you?" Lily yelled in terror for her son.

James pursed his lips and placed one of his hands on his chin, with a thoughtful look on his face, after collecting his thoughts he started to talk whilst wincing from Harry's cries.

"Only one, But if that's the case it won't stop for at least another half hour," he muttered.

"But what is it James! And how do we stop his pain?" Lily shrieked at him.

"I don't think we can Lily!" He yelled before quieting down and saying.

"Sorry."

"But what is it?" Lily said anxiously.

"I think it's a breaking of fate," seeing the confused look on his wife's face he continued, "You know that spell we cast after we got married?"

"Yeah that soulbond detection spell? Oh!" She exclaimed realising what was going on.

"So he has a soulbond? But why would that affect him now?" She asked.

"It's a very rare event but, occasionally when someone uses a time turner it sends ripples through fate and time, and some of those ripples change random events, like a child dying, and that can snowball into an entirely different timeline, I think muggles have a name for it what was it?" He said before again placing a hand on his jaw before explaining, "Oh yeah the butterfly effect! That's what muggles call it, anyway Lily it seems like Harry had a soulbond, then something happened to the other child because of an errant time turner, and now fate is going to correct itself and probably create a soulbond to a different child." James explained.

"Alright so it's not hurting him is it?" Lily asked.

"Oh no he's suffering pain far worse than a cruciatus curse, and no potion known to currently exist can stop the pain or well do anything to reduce the pain." James said, informing her, before patting her back trying to reassure her but falling very, very flat.

Lily sobbed, before a different thought came to her mind which she verbalised, "that's not reassuring James! and how do you know so much about this anyway!" Yelling the entire time.

"M- Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaagggghhhhhhhh!!!!!!". Harry screamed in extreme pain.

"Oh this happened to me when I was six, and it also happened to my great, great great great great great great great, grandfather too, his tale was recorded in his father's memories which are probably still in a crystal phial in one of the safe's.

"Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhggggggggggggg!!!!!!!!!!!" Harry continued to scream bloody murder.

".Degreme dnobluos wena dnadeid sah nirehtyl SeporeM", A deep cold voice very different from Harry's own child like one stated.

"What was that!" Lily shouted looking at James for an answer.

"I don't know, probably the voice of Fate." James said, putting his hands up, both surrendering and trying to placate her.

"It is done." "Wahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!." The cold deep voice said at the same time as Harry's high baby voice cried.

Somewhere near the village of Ottary Saint Catchpole, stood a house in the shape of a rook, at the top of a hill with a lake on one side and a small river on the other forming a sort of moat at the bottom of the hill, about a year later the ripples through time found the strange building before floating in and seeped into the facial cavities of the blonde girl who gently welcomed the ripples.

Almost six and a half months later, Whilst Luna Lovegood saw the ripples she had not even one idea what they were, she felt they were harmless and even lovely, and so she let it in felt and something weird overcome her, it was simply indescribable, causing a slightly confused look to appear on her face.

At that moment Pandora Lovegood looked over at her daughter, noticing her confused look she came over to pick her daughter up, trying to comfort her.

"Come on Luna, tell me what's wrong?" Emma Granger said, trying to comfort her child.

"Mama," the child said.

Getting excited Pandora called her husband saying, "Xen Luna just spoke!"

"Really!" Xenophilius's voice came from downstairs, before he started running up the stairs two at a time if the noises she heard were accurate, before Xenophilius who was now standing in the doorway said, "What'd she say‽" he shouted excitedly.

"Mama! She said Mama!" Pandora Lovegood announced yelling, completely forgetting about the confused look on her face.

As they talked they completely forgot about everything else, celebrating Luna's first word.

Somewhere in Derby at the exact same moment Amelia Pines was burned to death, in the nursery of one two and a half month old.

James Alexander Ambrosius Acheron was laying in his crib mostly peaceful for the moment, feeling a disruption in fate and time the baby felt confused, and feeling as though he lost a close friend he never knew, but then he felt it.

It burned, it felt as of his soul was being split in two, it felt as if he were being roasted inside a river of pure pain, it felt as if he was being skinned alive, it felt like he was being frozen to death, and it felt as if he was being stabbed in every single atom of his body, needless to say he was in mortal agony, it was also needless to say that he screamed at the top of his small-, well relatively large for a baby but as he was still a baby and thus they were small -lungs.

"Wahhhhhhhhhhhhhh AHHHHHHHHHGGGG," he screamed through the burning pain.

Hearing his screams both of his parents came running into the room, well limping on crutches for his mother but still going as quick as possible.

They quickly brought him to the hospital, however no one could explain what happened, (well no one whom was asked, both The Blood Lord Acheron of the Great and Bloody House of Acheron, and the Unspeakable Director (Boss) knew exactly what was going on but they weren't asked and thus didn't say,) or how it had stopped by the time they got to the hospital, or even why his eyes were glowing the exact same shade of red as blood, and certainly no one could answer the question of why his eyes were shifting between red orbs of blood like the moon, a raging inferno of fire, and a storm of blood red lightning that actually singed his fathers hand when it got close.

Somewhere of the coast of Brean Beach, at the exact same time, in a Merfolk City hidden beneath powerful muggle repellent charms alongside a bunch of other charms to protect against wizard's, witches, vampires, Werewolves, Leviathans, Krakens, Giant Sharks, Rok's and oh so many more dangerous creatures, some large, some small.

A young Mermaid was laying in a crib, inside one of the Merfolk houses under the sea, if any pure blood Wizard or Witch (and especially the bigoted ones) where to see it they would think that they went mad, or that it was an elaborate hoax meant to make wizards and witches think Merfolk were more than the simple beasts they believed them to be, wizarding paranoia went rather high when it came to sentient magical creatures.

It was only a month and twenty three days till the little mermaids first birthday, and her parents were out, her father was currently at work preparing for the new school year at The DrakeWood Academy for the Magically Gifted, he was the headmaster for one of if not the best school for magical beings in the world, (the list of magical beings accepted into the DrakeWood Academy was according to the international conference of magical beings list of magical beings).

And her mother was either out shopping or off on some business trip attending to one of her clients, both the baby and her eleven year old sister thought it was weird that their mother spent most of her nights either, in hotels on some business trip or another, or at home after bringing some strange man home making tons of noise, her big sister Serena (whose name came from one of their siren grandparents,) believed they must've been either wrestling or putting up some new furniture with the constant hammering noises they heard?, and not even her big sister had any clue towards why they're was so much moaning?, or as to why there was so much swearing?, and to think she chided them for saying stuff like that!

So when she felt a strange indescribable feeling spread over her body, she of course called to her sister since both of her parents were out anyway, her mother was out on another business trip in Peru, and her father had been called out to a school meeting addressing the new students and how they were apparently starting a new class due to an increase in funding.

"Se'a" she called before trying again.

"Se'a" she called a bit more forcibly than the first time.

"Huh?" Serena called from the other room barely hearing her.

"Se'a!" She called as loud as she could.

"Coming!" Her big sister said swimming into the room.

"Now what's the problem Jess?" Her elder siblings' slightly worried eyes bore into her, it was as if she was examining her soul.

"Wir feewing, wir feewing Se'a." She said affirmatively.

"It's probably just a stomach ache, you did eat a lot of food yesterday, you should go back to sleep and see how you feel in the morning, then if you're still feeling ill Mom and Dad will take you to the hospital Jessica." Her sister assured her.

So after she convinced Se'a to read her a bedtime story, and the actual reading of the bedtime story, Jessica went to sleep, dreaming about a Magnificent Thunderbird Guardian striking all of her enemies with lightning whilst she watched from atop the large cliff nearby the city she called home.

Two days later, Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry meeting room of the order of the Phoenix, nine twenty five am.

"I believe we should start this meeting by talking about Voldemort's massacre in Edinburgh." Dumbledore announced decisively.

With nods and shudders at his use of the name from all around he continued.

"My spy believes that Voldemort's massacre was the result of both, one of his chief death eaters Joanna Goldfinch died in childbirth, and his own child dying during birth, at exactly seven thirty am on the 1 of August," Dumbledore announced, readying himself for the responses, however no matter how much he readyed himself it would never be enough to prepare him for what James Potter said.

"Wait, did you say the child died at seven thirty am exactly?" He asked rather urgently.

"Yes, but why is that important James?" The Headmaster asked whilst flying through all the different reasons why James would want to know.

"Well, at seven thirty on the dot Harry broke out in bouts of extremely loud screaming, I suspect a breaking of fate, resulting in the death of a soul bond, and a death of chance at the same moment he started screaming is too much of a coincidence, to well just be a coincidence." James explained.

Whatever Headmaster Dumbledore had expected it was not that.

At the words of James Potter multiple people looked at the baby currently sleeping in his mother's arms.

"Are you certain?" The Headmaster asked curiously.

"It seems like it and aside from actually getting a result from magic this is the closest we can get to confirming it." James said resolutely.

"Well I suppose we can thank those time ripples for that little event." The Headmaster said rather somperly.

"And why's that!" Lily said she was not happy about the fact that those time ripples ended up hurting her son.

"I can think of only three likely outcomes where this soulbond would possibly become completed, only one of which is a positive outcome, another is a rather poor outcome, with the last one being an absolutely awful outcome. The Headmaster stated somberly.

"Whilst I don't like the fact a child had to die for this outcome it is a potentially positive outcome, especially considering the other outcomes," The Ancient Headmaster said sadly.

"The better the one you know than the one you don't." Mad-Eye Moody said gruffly before explaining.

"Even if this 'good' outcome went well, with us managing to blast old Volde-stuff off the table for good, more information is always important." he said.

At multiple confused looks at his non explanation (generally from the less observant (hint Dedalus Cornelius Diggle the Third)), Mad-Eye continued.

"No matter the reason we know Albus here", he pointed at the man wearing obscene robes, "has been hiding them away somewhere, cause Lord Voldie-Pants is after them for some reason he won't tell us, we can assume from this information, given nothing else significant to the war changes that Voldie-Shit fails in whatever he's supposed to be doing." He growled out giving Albus a glare for his insistence in keeping secrets from quite literally everyone.

Albus Percival Wolfric Brian Lapis Tobias Tasgall Dumbledore only winked and smiled, and doing that all whilst maintaining that same annoying twinkle in his stupid blue eyes.

After that debacle they somehow managed to finish the meeting without any more revelations of any importance.

This currently has Three thousand, one hundred and twenty seven words.

This will be a Dark Harry fanfic.

This will also be a Dumbledore, Weasley and others bashing fic.

By the way, I just wanted to say that this will not be replacing The Alexander Acheron Chronicles as my main series. It's just something I also wanted to write.
