Welcome! I prefer to keep things short and sweet; So there are some changes I'm making and statements that need to be said.
Certain Jutsu do not exist and some are altered.
This includes the Substitution Jutsu, and the Kunai/Shuriken Shadow clone Jutsu. For the Substitution, it simply doesn't exist. It never seemed to have a limit on its power and was a frequent visitor for plot amour. For the Kunai/Shuriken Shadow Clone Jutsu, instead of it being a Ninjutsu, its a Genjutsu. This however does not change the Shadow Clone Jutsu. That is still a Ninjutsu. There maybe some I change along the way as well, but I will of course let you, the audience, know.
Altered History.
Not a huge couple of revisions here, but they will eventually have an impact. Number one, not all of the Uzumaki are dead, I'd say about 3/4s of them are (Maybe around 220 members still among the living). Number two, those Uzumaki do not reside within the leaf village. They live in a protected village within the land of Fire, securely under the leaf's protection where no one knows they still exist.
Team Gai are the same age as the rookie nine. It never made any sense to me as to why they were older.
Personal Notes.
Do not expect consistent updates. There will be some months where I update 3-4 times and some where I update once. It simply depends on what I have going in that month.
I respond to all reviews, so any questions you might have always feel free to let them rip.
Flames.
All Naruto saw in his orphanage room were flames. They danced around everywhere, burning everything within sight. Children in his room screamed in fear, others in agony of being burnt. Naruto watched calmly from his bottom bunk, sitting quietly and unfocused. 'Did I... do that?' The five year old questioned. All he remembered was getting so riled up that he released... whatever that was and a couple seconds later the room was on fire.
'Is that why everyone hates me?' The blonde interrogated. "Everyone out, lets go!" Naruto jumped up from his thoughts and looked around. He saw one of the care takers holding the door, trying to force all of the other children out. Naruto tried to duck his head and blend in with the line, but was spotted quickly and was forced back into the room. "You started this fire, you'll die with it." the woman remarked as she closed the door shut and with a click, Naruto wasn't going to be getting out of here anytime soon.
Naruto looked around impatiently, searching for a way out. Fortunately for him, he found one relatively quickly. A window had been previously opened before the fire started, and was looking pretty enticing. The only problem was that it was surrounded by fire; And Naruto wasn't resistant to heat as far as he knew. So he had to find another way out.
But that's where another problem erupted. There was no other way out. Which left him in a peculiar type of pickle. 'I don't have anything to lose.' Forcing himself to make a decision, Naruto ran straight at the Flames. Instead of burning like anyone else would, Naruto was unharmed by the fire. The fire seemed to avoid him, moving out of his way when he tried to run through it.
Naruto stopped running, and noticed the strange phenomenon. 'What in the..' Naruto looked around and in his general area the fire wasn't within three feet of him. This is also when he first noticed the color of the fire. It wasn't a combination of slightly red, orange or Yellow as most, it was a firm gold. It reminded Naruto of the sky when it was sunset.
"Beautiful." Naruto muttered. He walked past all of the flames and to the window, still astounded by the beauty of the fire. The blonde lifted the window seal and slipped his way out of the Orphanage. He had went to turn the corner into the street, but stopped abruptly at the sight of all of the other Orphans and the care taker. Naruto backed up cautiously and ran to what he thought was a safe distance; seeing as it was dark at night.
It probably wasn't the best that the care taker knew he was still alive. After a couple minutes of avoiding every person in sight, Naruto had stopped in a training ground to gather his breath. That was when a man appeared right infront of his face. Naruto jumped back in surprise and scrambled back up from his spot on the grass.
Still tensed, the blond looked up and saw the third Hokage staring down at him. "Hello Naruto." The old man greeted with a smile. Naruto immediately relaxed himself and let out a sigh of relief. "I thought you were someone else, Hokage-Jiji." Naruto responded somewhat respectfully. The elderly Hokage squinted his eyebrows, but thought nothing of it.
"So why are you out so late at night?" Hiruzen knew the answer to his own question, but wondered what Naruto would say. Naruto shuffled uncomfortably before giving an answer. "I ran away from the orphanage." Naruto kept it short hoping that, that response would be enough to ease the Hokages seeming worries. Unfortunately, it wasn't.
"And why is that?" The Hokage pressed. Naruto was trying to decide whether or not lying would save him in this situation. It felt like he was sending himself down two paths, his answer being the sole pin that would move him to said paths. It was a strange feeling, almost to hard to comprehend for such a young child, but he did eventually come with an answer.
"I think I burned it down." Naruto said with all uncertainty. Hiruzen kept his composure on the outside, but on the in he was bothered to no end. He ran many scenarios in his head within seconds, none of them having good results. "Naruto, come with me."
The both appeared in the Hokage's office within seconds. The frustrated old man walked to his desk and sat down; almost like a child when they pout. His ears damn near had fumes pouring out of them in anger, only having his close to a century of training keeping him in check. Naruto stood awkwardly five feet away from the desk, unsure if his Jiji's anger was pointed at him or not.
'I have to get him out of here, for his own sake.' Hiruzen thought sadly. He motioned his hand and within an instant an Anbu appeared right beside Naruto, in a kneeling stance. "Orders, Hokage-sama?" Hiruzen took a breath before saying, "Get him here now." The Anbu nodded and left in a bodyflicker. Naruto was simply astounded that the man was so fast.
"Can you teach me that?" The blonde asked with haste. Throughout all of his frustration, the Hokage still let out a smile. "No, but the man I have coming for you would gladly teach it to you at some point." Naruto looked at the elderly Hokage with confusion. "What are you talking about?" Hiruzen got up and put his hand on Naruto's back. "For your own safety, I'm sending you out of the village for a while. Think of it as your first mission."
Naruto only looked ahead as his young mind couldn't fully understand what was truly going on.
Hiruzen walked Naruto out of the Hokage tower. "Sit here. I will be back for you within the hour." Naruto nodded to the Hokage as he left in another Bodyflicker.
Hiruzen walked back into his office to see a tall, white haired man leaning against the wall. The man turned around and sighed in frustration. "If you would have let me raise him the first time, this wouldn't have been an issue." The third walked past the man and sat back down in his chair. "I assume the Anbu informed you of what happened?" Hiruzen asked.
Jiraiya nodded. "Then you know there was no way I could have known something like this would happen. Minato never showed these abilities if he had them. Neither did Kushina for that matter." Hiruzen concluded.
Jiraiya held a low growl in frustration. He walked up to Hiruzen's desk and slammed his hands down. "I tried to warn you. Minato tried to warn you. Both times you didn't listen. You said it was only the Nine-Tails, and you could keep it under control. At what point will you understand that you don't have control over anything?" Hiruzen stood up from his seat and grinded his teeth. "Are you saying the you knew something like this would happen, and refused to tell me?"
Jiraiya broke the feud, turned his back, and started to laugh. "See that's the thing. You didn't listen and never had control, once again." The Kage sat back down and his seat, stroking his beard. He would never say it out loud, but Jiraiya was right. He had refused to listen all these years and it was starting to really back fire on him. 'Not starting, it started a long time ago.'
Jiraiya stroked the bridge of his nose before walking back to his Sensei's desk and handed him a piece of paper with a seal on it. "Just push some chakra into the seal and a toad will summon. If you have any news or missions he will relay it back to me. Other than that don't try to contact me for any other reason. We'll see you in three years."
Jiraiya walked out and slammed the door behind him. Hiruzen stared into that space for several moments before slamming his own fist into his desk, breaking the wood and shattering it to pieces.
"I've got to retire."
A/N
That's a good end to the first chapter if I do say so myself. Not any where near as long as it could be, but its more of a prologue anyway. Next chapter a lot of moving parts will begin to shift, so it will have a bit more length to it.
With that being said, I hope you all enjoyed it and will soon return. Remember to Review! (It might make me write the next chapter faster!)
