Carrie's GIANT Secret

Chapter 1: Leave it all Behind

Date: Saturday 22nd June 2013

Time: 9:50pm

Location: Chamberlain, Maine

It was a dark starry & Moonlit night over the US State of Maine, for the towns and citizens, all was good, especially for the students & teachers of all the local schools across the state, as tonight was Prom Night for all seniors… However, in the town of Chamberlain, The Thomas Ewen High School, was unfortunately not celebrating Prom Night, to the disappointment of all the students in their Senior Year, due to the School Principal Morton, having cancelled the prom, upon discovering the amount of bullying against one female student, known as Carrie White, that had been happening ever since 6th Grade, had now gone too far…

Carrie White was bullied and tormented constantly at school by almost everyone in the school, most notably a group of popular girls in her class: the Mortimer Snerds, led by Chris Hargensen, and all her friends: Tina Blake, Nicki & Lizzy Watson, Heather Shyres, Rachel Spies, Anissa Chen, Jessica Upshaw, and several others, Including Chris's out of town boyfriend: Billy Nolan, along with gang friends: Jackie Talbot & Kenny Garson, and even some of the teachers, particularly Mr Ullman, were also in on Carrie's bullying… All this was confirmed further, from another of Chris's friends: Sue Snell, who had a change of heart towards Carrie, knowing Carrie had never done anything wrong, Sue's boyfriend: Tommy Ross, who also knew this, and even the School Gym Teacher: Rita Desjardin, who seen all the bullying towards Carrie first hand… but recently, Rita had discovered since Carrie had her first period, along with her having a meltdown because of it, a video recording of Carrie's meltdown, along with everyone in her classmates laughing, throwing tampons and chanting 'Plug it Up' at her, had been posted online, and was still being shared around the internet…

If being bullied everyday wasn't bad enough for Carrie, her home life was no better… from the moment Carrie was born, her mother: Margaret White, who was a fanatically religious zealot, believing everything everyone did was against that of God, and every time Carrie did something like them, even accidently, resulted in Margaret harming Carrie, hitting her with her bible, even going as far as locking her in the Prayer Closet, for hours… but following Margaret being called about Carrie's period meltdown, she showed no mercy on her daughter, and her away again… but once being let out again, and sent to bed, Carrie believed that despite putting up with everything the way it was, there was no hope of anything changing for the better… & the best way for things to change, was to be out of the picture for good…

Once Margaret had gone to bed and sleep, Carrie secretly got dressed into some clothes she had kept secret from her mother, packed all her other clothes, toiletries and other belongings, including some books she had borrowed from the School Library on Telekinetic powers and abilities, into her school field trip bag, and quietly snuck out of the house, with absolute no intention of ever returning… to avoid anyone seeing her, Carrie chose not to take a bus or any form of transportation, rather, she chose to walk off into the wilderness, hoping she'd be less likely found by anyone…

The following day at school, once all the students had arrived, they all went to their lockers, only to not just notice that Carrie's locker had been vandalized, but that no one saw her there, no one even saw her arrive… when both Rita & Morton were informed that Carrie hadn't arrived at school, Morton rang Margaret to find what was going on, only to learn that Margaret didn't know where Carrie was either… but following this, as well as the video that had been posted and shared online, Morton decided enough was finally enough.

Once Morton had called the police, informing them of Carrie's disappearance, who began widespread searches of not just Chamberlain, but the whole of Maine as well, Morton decided rather than just ban Chris and her friends from Prom, But to Cancel both the Prom and Graduation Ceremonies, unless Carrie was found alive and well… This was a major shock and blow to every student in the school, knowing now that all their preparations for the one night they'd all been looking forward to, could well all be for nothing, for all the horrid things they did to Carrie. Chris and her friends were all shocked, believing that they hadn't done anything wrong, and Chris even tried to get her father: John Hargensen, who was also a filthy rich lawyer, to sue the school for their actions, but following the amount of evidence confirming Chris's and all of her friends' cruel actions towards Carrie, he had to accept defeat, seeing as how the school could countersue him for Chris's actions. Sue & Tommy were devastated once they too had heard everything, as they had secretly planned for Tommy to take Carrie to Prom in Sue's place, to make it up to Carrie for what had happened… but all they could hope now, was that Carrie was ok, and that she'd either come back, or someone would find her and let them know where Carrie was…

But it was Prom Night now…

And there was still no sign of Carrie…

(Meanwhile…)

Location: Rockwell, Maine

In Rockwell, another small town within Maine, not far from Portland, a person, a girl, with long and messy Strawberry Blonde hair, dressed in all black clothing: Pullover Hoodie, T-shirt, Jeans and sneakers, was slowly walking, looking down at the ground, feeling like the whole world was against her, and no one cared to help her… This was Carrie White…

Ever since Carrie ran away from Chamberlain, she was so lost in her sadness and pain, she didn't care where she ended up, or what could happen to her, as long as she was as far away from all those who had hurt her all her life as she could get. Despite being able to get out of Chamberlain undetected or unnoticed, she knew she couldn't get out of Maine altogether, and was still fearful of someone noticing or spotting her, and reporting her whereabouts to the authorities searching for her… but until then, all she could do, was keep hidden, still feeling no one genuinely cared about her… Since Carrie tried so hard not be found, she avoided hitchhiking with any passing drivers, and didn't ask or accept anywhere to stay, fearing it would blow her cover, so once she reached Rockwell, she had taken up residence in an old, abandoned barn, at the edge of some woodlands.

Carrie approached and opened the barn doors with her telekinetic powers, before entering and shutting them behind her, as she sadly settled down for another miserable night, as she unpacked some food and drinks she had bought with what money she had taken when she ran away from home, but only a limited amount, and was getting close to running out…

Once Carrie had eaten and drank what she needed to keep going, she eventually got into her sleeping bag, and prayed once again, holding onto her Golden Holy Cross necklace…

"Oh, holy father, please forgive me, for abandoning my home, my mama, my school, everyone, for no one has been there to help, to care, to love me… I pray… I pray for just one wish… a Friend… someone who won't torment me… Someone who won't see me as a scapegoat… Someone who will…"Carrie sadly wept in her prayer… but was interrupted by a noise… A heavy stomping noise… that was getting closer, and closer, louder, and louder, so much it made the barn shake and creak…

In a panic, Carrie quickly got out of her sleeping bag, and rushed to the wall closest to the sound, and looked through the cracks in the wall, to see what was happening… but Carrie saw nothing outside… Despite her worry and fear, Carrie's curiosity got her, as she then got a torch from her bag, and turned it on, before going outside the barn to investigate…

Carrie carefully and curiously shone her torch around through the darkness, but still couldn't see what caused that loud stomping… until she shone her torch to ground, seeing a Giant pit in the ground… It looked an oddly shaped footprint… Carrie then shone her torch even further, to see more giant footprints, leading into the dark woodlands ahead of her… Judging by it's shape and size, Carrie knew that whatever caused the sound, and the footprints, was not a human, or an animal, not even anything known on this world… but despite her fears, Carrie's Curiosity was still dominant, & seeing that she didn't really have much to lose… she slowly began following the footprints into the forest…
