Chapter 54
It's been a week since Emma was rescued, Emma's still having nightmares about her kidnapping, as Sean does what he can to help her accept that she's home safe. Emma's sleeping in Sean's arms as she begins crying and screaming in her sleep, Sean rubs her back consoling her and shaking her to trying to wake her
Sean (softly): You're ok baby wake up it's all over your safe.
Emma wakes up startled and gasping in fear.
Emma: What…..where….Did I wake you?
Sean: No, not at all. I'll stay awake to make sure you're ok
Emma curls tighter into Sean's arms as she softly sobs, Sean wraps his arm around her and kisses the top of her head
Emma: Sean, babe. As much as I love you, looking out for me, you need sleep too, honey
Sean: I'll sleep, once I know you're asleep.
Emma buries her head in Sean's chest sniffling
Sean (softly): Hey, remember when I went to your parents and asked them for their blessing to marry you?
Emma (softly smiles): Yea.
Sean softly chuckles as he runs his fingers through her hair
Sean: I'll never forget when your dad told me it took me long enough
Emma softly chuckles
Emma: Mom saying you've always been a second son to her
Sean smiles
Sean: I wouldn't trade those memories for anything.
Sean said softly as he kisses the top of Emma's head
Sean (softly): Hey look at me, beautiful
Sean said as he gracefully lifts Emma's chin up as he looks In her eyes
Sean: Emma, I promise you, no matter what, I will always come look for you and I will always find you. Forever and Always
Emma: I know
Sean: I love you with all of my heart, Emma. There's nothing I wouldn't do to protect you and keep you safe.
Emma: I know baby.
Emma said as she kisses Sean's chest
Sean: I can't begin to imagine how scared you were, but I promise baby, you're safe. He's dead, he can't hurt anyone else ever again
Emma: Is he really though, Sean? I mean yea, Chuck called us and told us he died at the hospital, but-
Sean: You still fear he might be alive?
Emma looks at Sean as a tear rolls down her cheek as she shakes her head yes
Emma: I was so scared he was going to hurt me, or worse. I was so scared Rose would grow up without her mommy
Emma buries her head in Sean's chest and softly cries
Sean (softly): I know baby, I know. But he's gone babe, he can't hurt you, Em. He can't hurt anyone anymore
Emma: I love you with all my heart and soul Sean. I know I'm safe with you, I've never felt safer than I do with you.
Sean: Then believe me when I say it's ok for you to be scared babe. You were taken from us for almost a week
Sean said as he wraps his arms around Emma's back, consoling her
Emma: I haven't slept much since the kidnapping, I keep having nightmares that he'd find me and hurt me.
Sean: Honey, what do you mean?
Emma looks up at Sean
Emma: When he attacked me at school, he tried to get a bit more physical with me
Sean: He tried to-
Emma nods yes
Sean: Baby, why didn't you tell me this when it happened? We would've went to Chuck right away
Emma sniffles as Sean holds her tight
Emma: I was scared, Sean.
Sean: Em, you know you can always tell me anything, babe.
Emma (sniffles): I know.
Emma said as a tear falls from her brown eyes and lands on Sean's chest
Sean: I got you now, Emma. I promise you're safe.
Emma (softly): I know.
Sean: I love you
Emma (softly): I love you too
Sean smiles as he kisses the top of Emma's head as she curls up closer in his arms
Emma: Thank you, babe
Sean: For what?
Emma: Coming to my rescue, and being understanding, supportive, just being there for me.
Sean: Baby, when I married you, I promised for better, for worse. You, my wonderful wife,
Sean said as he kisses her head softly
Sean: Will never have to worry about me not being there for you.
Emma: I don't know what I'd do without you
Emma said as he gives Sean a kiss as they hear Rose crying in the baby monitor
Sean: I'll get the baby. Why don't you try to get some sleep, babe
Emma: No I can get her babe, I missed enough when I was kidnapped
Emma gets out of bed and walks in Rose's room
Emma (to Rose): What's wrong with mama's girl?
Rose (cries): Mama
Emma walks over to Rose's Crib
Emma: Why's mommy's baby crying?
Emma feels Rose's forehead to see Rose feels a bit warm as Rose continues crying pulling at her ears
Emma: Are you teething, baby?
Emma said as she grabs the thermometer and takes Rose's temperature
Emma: 100 degrees, come here, baby
Emma takes Rose out of her crib, places her on Emma's hip as Rose continues cries as she grabs Rose's pacifier and puts it in Rose's mouth and sits in the rocking chair in Rose's room
Emma: There we go baby.
Rose coos as Emma softly rocks her in the rocker to sooth her
Emma: Listen baby, I know you're too little to understand this,
Rose begins babbling as Sean listens in on the baby monitor
Emma: I want you to know Rose, I love you and your daddy with all my heart.
Emma said as her voice begins to break
Emma: If anything should happen to mommy, take good care of Daddy for me, cause he's going to need you to be strong for him
Rose babbles
Emma: I would never leave you and daddy intentionally, Rosie. I want you to know that babygirl.
Emma said as a tear rolls down her cheek as she kisses the top of Rose's head
Rose: Mama
Rose said as she reaches for Emma's cheek
Emma: I'm so sorry mommy wasn't here for your first words
Emma said as she senses someone coming in the room and holds Rose close to her chest, she takes a sigh of relief seeing it's Sean
Sean (softly): Honey
Emma: She's teething
Sean kneels down next to the rocker as he softly runs his hand over Rose's head
Sean (softly): Honey, listen. I heard what you said in the monitor
Sean said as he wipes a tear away from Emma's cheek
Emma (softly): I just want her to know, that Mommy loves her
Emma said as she gives Rose a kiss on the top of her head as she continues rocking her in the chair
Sean: Em, She knows you love her. You got to stop doing this to yourself, baby.
Sean said as Rose begins to drift back to sleep a few minutes later
Emma (quietly): She's falling back asleep
Emma said as she takes Rose's pacifier out of Rose's mouth and gives Rose to Sean as he kisses her head and gently places Rose in her crib. They walk out of Rose's room and quietly closed the door behind them. After closing the door, Emma quietly weeps at Rose's door
Sean: Baby-
Emma continues weeping as Sean places his hand on Emma's shoulder, as Emma turns around and falls into Sean's arms, crying
Sean: Baby, it's ok. You're ok. You got to stop beating yourself up over what happen.
Emma: You weren't there, you don't know what it felt like to be helpless and being held against your will, not knowing if you'll see your family again
Emma said as she continues crying as Sean holds her in his arms, kissing her head and running his fingers through her hair
Sean (softly): Baby, I might not have been there, but I promise you, I know exactly how you felt, I was scared for our family.
Emma sniffles
Sean (voice breaks): Every day, and every night, you were gone, I stayed awake, searching for anything I could find to lead me to you. I was scared out of my mind, I would never see you again, Emma. You have no idea how relieved I was when you called me. It was as if a huge weight was lifted off my shoulders. I was never so happy to hear your voice
Emma sniffles as she wipes the tears away
Sean: Baby, I promise you, on everything you and I have built together, there is nothing I won't do to protect you
Sean said as he places his hands on the sides of her face and softly kisses her forehead
Sean: Listen, you just went through something very traumatic, and I get that you want to blame yourself for it
Sean said as he sweeps her hair out of her face and looks into her red, puffy, tear filled eyes
Sean: But I promise you, Emma. None of that is your fault honey.
Emma buries her head in Sean's chest as he wraps his arms around her
Emma: It's going to take some time for me to feel normal again
Sean quietly chuckles
Sean: And I promise I will be here every second of every day
Emma: No, you need to work
Emma said as she yawns
Sean: The shop is taken care of, my family needs me more.
Emma looks at Sean
Emma: Sean-
Sean (softly): I called Mike the night you went missing and said I was taking a leave of absence until further notice, effective immediately, I told him what was going on and that he's in charge until I come back and if anyone asks, my family needs me right now
Emma: Babe-
Sean: I told you baby, I'm always going to be here for you, baby. No matter what. Our family comes first
Sean said as he kisses Emma's forehead as Emma smiles and places her hand on his wrist
Emma: Thank you
Sean: I love you, Emma Cameron. Don't ever forget that.
Emma: I know, I love you too.
Sean: If it will make you feel any better, I can call Chuck in the morning, and see if we can go to the morgue and see Nick's body for ourselves.
Emma: We'll see in the morning, but for now I need sleep and snuggles with my husband
Emma smiles
Sean: I'm perfectly ok with all the snuggles you want baby.
Sean smiles
Emma: I'll be in bed in a minute, baby. I'm just gonna splash some water on my face
Emma said as she kisses Sean and heads to the bathroom, she turns on the faucet, lets the water run for a minute, then splash some water on her face, as she shuts the water off, she looks up in the mirror and is startled when she thinks she saw Nick's reflect in the mirror
Emma (to herself): You're safe now. You're home with your family. He can't hurt you anymore
She closes her eyes for a moment and takes a deep breath
Emma (to herself): What you're seeing isn't real, he's dead, and most importantly you have Sean, a former army soldier, who would move mountains to protect you
She takes another deep breath and opens her eyes and sees no reflection, she lets out a sigh of relief as she quietly opens Rose's bedroom door to check on her, sees Rose is fast asleep, quietly shuts the door, then walks in her room as she climbs in bed and snuggles next to Sean
Sean: You ok, baby? I thought I heard you talking to someone in the bathroom
Sean said as he wraps his arms around Emma
Emma: After I splashed some water on my face, I looked in the mirror
Sean: Yea?
Emma: I thought I saw Nick's reflection
Emma continued as she looks up at Sean in bed as he consoles her
Sean: He can't hurt you baby, he can't even touch you anymore. Although If he was still alive, I'd like to see him try. Cause I'd kill his ass myself
Emma: Baby
Sean: Just pisses me off that he tried to hurt you like that babe
Emma (quietly): I hate him
Emma lays her head down as she stares at the wall silently as she drapes her arm over Sean's torso and runs her thumb over his side
Sean: Baby
Emma doesn't answer, she continues staring at the wall as if she's reliving a memory from her kidnapping
Sean: Baby?
Sean said as he rubs his hand across her back, startling Emma, causing her to jump in fear
Sean: It's just me, baby. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare you.
Emma: What?
Sean: Em, maybe we should take you to the Doctor's to be checked out. You're kind of worrying me, babe.
Emma: No Doctor's
Emma said as she curls up tighter In Sean's arms
Sean: Emma-
Emma (voice breaks): I just want the nightmares and memories to go away
Sean lets out a deep exhale
Sean: And my little rant didn't help any. I'm sorry babe.
Sean said as she kisses Emma's head and runs his hand across her back
Emma: I love you
Emma said as slowly drifts to sleep curled up in Sean's arms
Sean (softly): I love you too, baby. Sweet dreams
Sean said as he continues running his hand across her back for another hour until he sees she's asleep. He begins to drift asleep with Emma in his arms. A few hours later, Sean wakes up and notices Emma's not in bed, he jolts out of bed, checks Rose's room, see's Rose isn't in her crib and runs down the stairs, he gets halfway down the stairs when he heard Rose laugh
Emma: Oh, my baby is getting so big! Pretty soon, you'll be walking baby
Emma says with a laugh as Sean comes downstairs
Emma (to Sean): Hey babe
Sean looks at Emma and exhales, as he pulls her into his arms
Sean (to Emma): You scared the hell out of me. I got up and you weren't in bed
Sean said as he kisses Emma
Emma: Rose woke up, So I got up with her and we decided to let Daddy sleep in
Emma said as she picks up Rose
Emma (to Rose): Isn't that right sweet girl?
Sean smiles
Sean: I'm just happy you're ok
Emma: Well, yea, why wouldn't I be, honey?
Sean: Babe, you just went through something traumatic not even 2 weeks ago, you woke up last night in the middle of the night last night, cause you had a nightmare, honey
Emma: I'm ok, babe.
Rose laughs
Sean (to Rose): What's daddy's little girl laughing about? Huh?
Sean said with a smile as he picks her up and plays with her, as Emma's phone rings
Emma: Hello?
Manny: Hey babes
Emma: What's got you so cheerful?
Manny: I can't just be in a good mood?
Manny said with a chuckle as she hears Rose laughing
Emma: I don't know, you in a good mood? Kind of scary
Emma laughs
Manny: What's my girl doing?
Emma: She's playing with her daddy
Manny: I hear her laughing up a storm, but I meant you
Emma: I'm just here
Manny: Well, get your butt out here, cause we're going shopping.
Emma looks at Sean playing with Rose
Emma: Manny, I don't know
Sean (to Emma): Baby, go out with Manny. I can handle things here
Emma (to Sean): I- I don't know
Rose: Mama
Emma: I think I should stay here
Sean: Em, go have fun with Manny. You've been through a lot in these last couple weeks. Go out and have fun
Manny: Well?
Emma looks at Sean as Sean walks over to Emma, holds her hands, and softly kisses her forehead
Sean (softly): Go have fun with Manny
Emma (to Sean): You'll call me if anything happens?
Sean: You'll be the first I call.
Emma gives Sean a kiss
Emma (to Manny): Alright, I'll be out in a minute
Manny: Hurry your butt up
Manny said with a laugh
Emma: Yea, Yea
Emma hangs up
Emma (to Sean): I love you, thank you for pushing me to get out of the house
Sean: I love you too, baby. Go have fun
Emma walks over to Rose
Emma (to Rose): Hey my sweet girl
Emma said as she picks up Rose
Emma (to Rose): Mommy's gonna go with Auntie Manny for a little bit
Emma gives her a kiss on the cheek
Emma (to Rose): I love you babygirl
Emma said as she puts Rose down then spins and looks at Sean
Emma (to Sean): Thank you, for being so amazing
Sean smiles as he kisses her
Sean: Have fun baby
Emma: I love you
Sean: I love you too. I promise I'll call if anything happens
Sean said with a smile as Emma walks out the door
Sean (to Rose): It's just us now, baby
Rose giggles.
