Ok guys, enjoy.
Kal looked up into the sky as the sun started to rise, it had a very calming effect on him. Which to his surprise may not even be needed right now. It hadn't been long since he left those large woods, maybe an hour or two. Well, maybe escorted would have been the better word to use. Keeping his own word, he followed the rules that this Staghelm person set for him and thankfully he was treated with respect.
As of the moment, he is sitting in a wooden chair on flat ground covered with grass, stationed gently next to his right was the trident of Atlen, he placed it there before sitting down knowing that it very difficult and awkward to sit down when a large weapon was on your back. Around him was a couple of white stone pillars that were linked together by the same colour stones planks connecting the tops of them. There was a circle of square stones that acted a floorboard around him, directly in front of him where two wooden chairs similar to his own.
Currently occupied by those who would be acting as judges for this trial, Tyrande Whisperwind who was on the left wearing the same clothes she did when he first saw her and on the right was the man who made this situation a necessity. Fandel Staghelm who while still showing much of his bare skin, had now worn what he could only guess was a type of formal robe.
Though the three of them were hardly the only one's present, there was quite a large crowd of people stationed around them. All of which were talking to each other while looking at them or him more specifically. In front of them on the other hand, creating a barrier to prevent them from getting too close was a line of women who wore Armor and had arrows placed in their bows, while not drawn just yet. He had a feeling that they could fire at him very quickly.
Before he could ponder on it for much longer on the other hand, Tyrande stood up and made her voice known to all "there will be silence while we conduct this trial" everyone around them stopped speaking immediately "let it be known to all present that this is not a trial to determine guilt but character. This man in an unknown to us all yet he was given a blessing by Elune"
Before she could continue, the man also stood up and spoke "which does not mean that he should be granted complete trust" it felt that he was talking to Tyrande more so the crowd but nevertheless he continued "he may have been the one to force the Warsong to retreat to their clan base but let us not forget he is the reason they marched in the first place" all around him, he could see the people while not all completely nodding along to every word being said, they didn't dispute what was said either.
"That being said, let us begin" Tyrande added sitting down in her chair and looking at Kal "in the spirits of cooperation can we trust you to speak the truth of the questions we will ask you?" he asked calmly.
Kal glanced at his side and the crowds around him before turning back "yes" he answered.
"Very well then" Staghelm nodded "please tell us your full name" he said.
"Kal-El"
"Rather than ask you a dozen different questions" Tyrande started "I believe it would be best for you to simply tell us your story. How did you arrive on our world?" she asked calmly.
Kal could understand her reasoning it would take way longer to get his story for asking different questions than it would for him to just tell it himself and ask questions after. Thinking about it for a moment, Kal thought that he had to best way to describe his life "I was born on a world called Krypton" he started and immediately knew that he had the attention of everyone around him "the people of Krypton were incredibly scientific in nature. We had no magic, we had no deity to worship or if we did then that worship didn't last long" based on the faces that many of the people around him made, they did not like that at all.
"Due to that outlook, it led to my people becoming incredibly scientifically advanced. Over time they were able to cure diseases, preserve food for longer, create large ships to travel the stars. However, over time this knowledge led to arrogance and from there mistakes. Personally, I believe it started with artificial population control..."
"Apologies for the interruption" Tyrande said "could you please specify that, what is artificial population control?" she asked.
Kal nodded at her "it was a method of control a population from the very beginning of life, children stopped being born from the womb of a woman and instead from a lab. Children were grown from the combined blood of the chosen parents and as they grew, they would be designed to for fill a predetermined role in society. Before even a child was born it would have been decided that they would be a warrior, a farmer, a leader"
That was when the talking within the crowd began to pick up "quiet" Staghelm said, though he didn't shout it was loud enough for the crowd to hear him and listen "continue" he spoke to Kal.
"That being said, it did work and my people prospered because of it. For a time at least. I don't know the reason but all the colonies my people had were abandoned and the home world held the entire species" he continued "it was during this time that my mother and father met each other, they both believed that Krypton lost something precious. The element of choice, of chance. What if a child dreamed of becoming something that society had intended for him or her, what if I child wanted to be something more?"
"And I take it" Staghelm said calmly "that this child is you?" he asked calmly.
"yes" Kal nodded "my parents went against every law the government had, they decided to have me on their own, away from the labs, away from the technology, they had me completely naturally. I was my peoples first natural birth in centuries" he looked down for a moment and sighed "though it would prove to not help them in the way they envisioned, I won't try and explain the technical parts to you" he said trying to not sound too offensive to this people and it was true, he really didn't want to go into the specifics of how one would harvest the planets core and turn it into fuel.
"But what you need to know is that my people did something that they knew wouldn't work but they felt that they didn't have a choice. That led to the worlds centre, its core becoming unstable and unable to sustain the planet. The day I was born, my mother and father foresaw the calamity and made efforts to ensure my survival. My world was completely destroyed, it tore itself apart and everything on it died" the talking amongst the people around them didn't pick up again, but he did see that they looked at each other with complete horror at his words "thankfully I was able to survive as my parents were able to send me away to another world before it was too late"
Tyrande kept her face stoic and calm as she heard his words, but it was becoming more and more difficult the more he went on. How could a people destroy their own world in such a way? It was unthinkable to her, the only experience she has with something that could destroy a world would be the Burning legion and being completely honest, it did make her feel better they he has yet to mention them. She knew it was horrible to think a world being destroyed as a good thing but she was thankful that it wasn't the legion that did it.
Though she had to admit, even to someone of her experience. She was finding it hard to believe the words that were being said. Though she did believe him, over the course of her life she likes to think that she's gotten to be a good judge of character and she does believe that he is telling the truth "I'm sorry for the interruption" she said causing Kal to stop and look at her "are you claiming that you were sent away from the world of your birth and sent to a completely new one?" she asked.
"Yes, that is correct" he confirmed with a nod.
"So Azeroth is the third world you have been on?" she asked.
"Azeroth?" the man said back with a confused voice "is that was this planet is called?" he asked. She didn't speak just simply nodded at the question "that's good to know. No, I've been on many different worlds during my travels" he informed them all and that was just as surprising. She knew that the Draenei had travelled to different worlds in their travels as they tried to find a new home, safe from the legion 'was traveling to different worlds really so common?' she thought to herself.
"Anyway, when I landed on the world I come to see as my home. Earth" he continued "I crash landed on a farm that was owned by a couple called the Kents, they took me. Gave me a family, gave me a home" there was a small smile on his face as he said that he she could tell that he must love them very much "as I started to grow up my biology started to rapidly change"
"Yes" Tyrande said "you claimed that you are not magical in nature. Yet you possess abilities that most definitely seem magical. How can simple biology be responsible for such acts?" she found herself asking.
He smiled at her sheepishly for a moment before responding "with all due respect high priestess, my biology is anything but simple. I won't bore you with the scientific specifics that even I don't truly understand" to be perfectly honest she wasn't sure if he went for that to sound offensive or not, for the sake of diplomacy she'll take it at face value and not get offended "the basics of it is that my body absorbs the sun light and converts that into power. That power allows me to use the powers you've all seen and the ones you haven't"
"Yes that" Staghelm interrupted him. Tyrande knew what was coming next, her fellow leader never did have much tact and was not the best when talking to outsiders. She would guess that the only reason he was even listening to what was being said was because he wanted to know just what Kal was capable of "the power you displayed within the Ashenvale was very... impressive to say to least. Could you please explain to us just what it is you are capable of?" while he phrased it as a question, she knew that it was anything but and based on Kal's face, he knew it as well.
Kal didn't answer immediately, no doubt thinking about whether or not he should answer the question. She couldn't blame him for not wanting too, why would he want to tell complete strangers about what he's capable of. Though she wouldn't deny that she wanted to know as well, she just thinks that he could tell them because he would grow to trust them and not because he feels as though he has too. When he turned to look at her, she found her diplomatic side coming out "that won't be necessary" she said, knowing that Staghelm was giving her an angry glare "but maybe you could tell us of how you came to be in possession of such powerful weapons?" she asked hoping that would enough for Staghelm to not whine later and little enough for Kal to answer.
He seemed to wait a moment, it wasn't surprising that he didn't answer straight away. Though unlike before, this time she was sure that he would answer in order to ease the minds of all those around him "well, the first thing I should tell you is that I'm not the first one to use them" he started and everyone listened with apt attention, though it was easy to see that the priest and priestess where listening in even more "On Earth, I used my powers to help people. I stopped crime, aided those in need and fought those who sought to cause others harm. I did this for a few years. The people of Earth started calling me Superman" he added with a small chuckle.
Tyrande found herself smiling slightly at the story 'so the people started seeing him as a hero?' she thought to herself "over time I found others who shared my outlook, there were those who had power and wanted to use them to help others. I worked with some of them on occasion, it wasn't until later that a threat came to our world, an invasion. Something none of us could fight off on our own that we all decided to band together as one"
The atmosphere of the meeting became tense as all present listened in to his words. It all sounded too familiar and was not something she wanted to bring up but at the same time, if Kal had information about the legion then they would need to know about it "this invasion, could you describe the attackers?" Staghelm said before she could.
"ruthless" Kal said back immediately "focused more on numbers then strength. Incredibly powerful, capable of making the destruction of planets into some type of sport. All for the sake of their leader. Darkseid" he said that name with such hatred it remained Tyrande not of the way her love Malfurion would but of how his twin Illidan would describe the legion.
The only good thing she got from that was that whatever attacked his world, Earth. It was not the legion. Something that did make her feel much better and based on the way everyone else seemed to exhale, they did as well "that would be only the first time he would lead his forces in order to attack our world" he continued "thankfully myself and the others were able to fight him and his forces off. After that first invasion, we decided that if we stayed together we could always do more. So that's what we did" he let out a chuckle "the seven of us came together. Called ourselves the Justice League. The artefacts I use now belonged to them, two to be exact"
"If these divine tools belonged to others" Staghelm started with a hint of hostility his voice "then how did you come to be in possession of them?" he asked and once again Tyrande found herself wishing she was doing this on her own. Tact. It's a very useful thing.
He shifted in his chair, clearly uneasy "I said it was Darkseids first invasion that brought us together, he attacked four sperate times. Each time we barely survived. The last time he attacked, we didn't. He marched his legions on our world again but unlike the last few times, they didn't march at us through their Boomtubes... err... the portals like they had in the past. It seemed that they took the long way around in order to get to us. His entire army, falling to our world from the sky. We couldn't banish them if they didn't use a portal to get to us"
She didn't even want to think about it. Tyrande knew that the only reason they survived the last two legion invasions was because the bulk of their forces where never here, they came to Azeroth from portals that their warlocks where able to open. When they closed the portal that had been created by the use of the Well of Eternity, it saved their world. But if there was no portal, if their entire army could march on them unimpeded by magic. She hated to admit it, but she didn't think they would survive that.
"It lasted for three years" he continued "I won't bore or sadden you with the specifics but over time. The Justice League started to lose members one by one until it was just me left. The trident" he turned to look at the golden weapon "It's called the trident of Atlen, it belonged to my friend. His name was Arther Curry, the people of Earth called him Aquaman. He was king of a kingdom that rested at the bottom of the ocean called Atlantis. The Trident was his weapon, it was blessed by Poseidon. The god of seas. When he died, I took ownership of the trident, I'm never going to be able to use the tridents full power like he could. But I can still do much with it, the trident itself in virtually indestructible, the one who wields it is able to have a limited control of water and sea life" he explained.
"You are able to do this?" Tyrande asked quickly "but you claimed you cannot use the tridents full power. If you could use its full power, what would you be capable of?" she asked.
"I'm not a part of Arther's bloodline so I'll never be able to unlock its full potential. But Arther himself could have complete control over the seas, create massive storms in the sky and completely dominate the minds of sea life" he explained and Tyrande found herself being shocked at such power being so freely given. This Poseidon must have had a great amount of trust in the bloodline of the Curry family.
"And the others?" Staghelm asked before the crowd could get more rowdy.
Kal looked down to his wrists and waist "these where both owned by one person. Her name was Diana, better known as Wonder Woman. She was the princess of a kingdom of warrior woman, a demigod in her own right. She was draughter of Zeus, king of the gods. We were..." he trailed off.
Tyrande felt the pain in his voice, she was so fixated on feeling bad for his loss that she nearly missed the way he just claimed this woman was a real demigod. Could that be true? The only experience she's ever had with a demigod was Cenarius, who was believed to be a child of Elune and Malorne. And even than it is possible that Cenarius is not a child of Elune but of Ysera, she of the great Dream.
"I don't know what we were" he carried on "she wielded the Lasso of Truth and the Bracelets of Submission. Each of them was blessed by the gods and they have very powerful and useful enchantments" 'at least we have a name for them now' she thought to herself as she listened closely to what was being said "the bracelets work as well as a piece of Armor but the enchantments allow them to absorb and store both kinetic and magical energies within them that can be released all at once"
"What?" Staghelm asked "what do you mean exactly"
While Tyrande herself would have waited until this was all done before asking follow up questions about the small details, she herself was confused slightly "oh right" Kal said with a nod "basically, anything physical that's blocked with the bracelets the force of the blow would be stored within them and if I kept on blocking, the more force is stored and if I felt like it, I could send all that force back at you all at once" he explained and the way he said it, it made Tyrande think of herself when she had to tell something to Shandris when she was younger.
"Unlike to the Trident, I do have the loyalty of both these bracelets and the Lasso. As they were created by different gods, the bracelets were created by the smith god Hephaestus, they're not bound to blood lines so any who prove worthy can wield them properly" she knew that those weapons where godly but she also knew that the fact he could use their full power would not make any of her comrades feel any better.
"And the other" Staghelm said before she could "this Lasso, what purpose does it serve?" he asked.
"The Lasso of truth. It was created by the goddess Hestia and it has many abilities and enchantments" he started to explain "but I believe the most powerful of them would be its ability to extended itself as far as I like, it's indestructible and all those ensured within it must always speak the truth. Very good for interrogation" he said calmly.
Both Tyrande and Staghelm shared a glance at each other as they heard that "it forces those under its power to speak the truth?" she asked again, just making sure that she heard that right.
"Yes" he confirmed with a nod "and since it is a weapon of a god, it's incredibly powerful. I've seen it work on other gods and force them to tell the truth" he added "none ensured within it can ever lie"
There was silence that hung over the area for a moment, as all present tried to process the information he just gave. Clark knew that they would be surprised by that, even if these people where primitive in some ways, being able to force the lies out of people shocked them as it did the people of Earth when they first heard about it.
But he has learned from his past mistakes, which was why he didn't tell them about his abilities. Especially how could see through objects, nobody liked knowing that he could see through things. Everybody always immediately goes to pervert because that includes seeing through clothes 'although' he thought to himself as he looked around at the crowd around them. Based on the all the exposed skin being shown, maybe they wouldn't care too much. He could see a handful of women who wore very thin clothes, making it very easy to see through them and witness their very well built and beautiful bodies.
"And the ring on your finger?" Tyrande asked calmly even though he could tell that while she tried to stay calm, she was more nervous than when the meeting started.
"Oh" he lifted his hand and looked at the silver band on his finger with the magical blue gem at its crown "this isn't divine or godly in any way. It was made by a trusted friend of mine. She was a very powerful Sorceress and she made this for me. It's full of protections that keep me safe from magical threats" he explained.
"Just magical" the man, Staghelm said quickly "it doesn't protect you from any other attacks?" he asked.
Clark nodded back at him "Any other threat, I'm more then capable of deal with myself" he said trying his best to not sound so arrogant.
"I know it is not the topic of the current discussion" Tyrande spoke up "but I was wondering if you could tell us more of your current clothing?" she asked.
Now that was tricky, based on what Clarks seen these people don't even have the earliest means of power, they look like they've only just invented the wheel. How would he go about explaining a liquid Geo to them? "it's complicated" he said knowing that it was lame answer "it's not just clothing, it's very advanced technology"
"I see" Tyrande said back "perhaps we've gotten slightly side tracked. Could you continue the story of how you arrived here?" she asked.
"Right" Clark nodded, thankful that he skipped most of his life as when he started talking about the weapons "well, like I said the war with Darksied and his forces lasted for three years. Many others were involved, and we did good damage in return for the pain we were given but it wasn't enough. Darksied didn't come to conquer us, we'd beaten him too many times, now it was about vengeance for the ego we bruised when we beat him in the past" he started and out of the corner of his eyes he could see that he had the attention of many people around them.
He closed his eyes for a moment and let out a sigh "and that's exactly what he did. At the end of it all, it was just me left. Earth, everyone on it, every person, every animal, every planet. All dead, the entire world" he trailed off for a moment as he thought about it, he had a few days to think about it all when he realized that he was alone on Earth before he ended it all. But he was still fighting then, he's only just realized that he hasn't mourned that loss yet 'no, that can come later' he thought to himself before he could spiral into a whirlwind of depression "that being said, I had nothing to lose so I packed up my home and made my final stand" he continued "when I fought Darkseid again, I didn't have to worry about collateral damage so I didn't hold myself back. That fight resulted in Darkseids death but also the complete destruction of not only Earth but his world as well"
"Stop" Staghelm said stopping him from continuing "I'm sure you can forgive me if I say that seems like a lie. You and this Darkseid fought and you destroyed two worlds in the process?" he asked with a doubtful voice.
Kal couldn't blame him for thinking that, to someone who's most likely never seen such power, it would be very hard to believe. Thinking back now, if he told himself in his younger years that he could destroy worlds then even he wouldn't have believed it either "that is correct yes" he confirmed, he decided to ignore what the people around him where saying, knowing full well that it wouldn't be polite "once the fighting was done, Darkseid was dead and I wasn't too far behind, I was up there" he looked up to the sky "floating above the broken worlds waiting for death" Kal turned and looked at Tyrande "that's when I saw her, you called her Elune. I saw her floating above, she smiled then I blacked out. Next thing I know, I'm waking up here and being told that I fell from the sky" he explained.
There was a silence around him as he finished speaking, then without hesitation everyone began talking at once, to each other, to the guards, somewhere shouting at him as well. Tyrande and Staghelm on the other hand didn't say anything for a moment. No doubt thinking about what they should do next. Kal knows that it's difficult to believe but he hoped that his power and helping them earlier with those other aliens in the woods would give him the benefit of the doubt.
After another moment, Tyrande stood up and all noise around him stopped "thank you Kal, for sharing your story with us. I'm sure you can understand how that could be difficult to believe. While the Arch Druid and I discuss this, I believe it would be best for you to be escorted to your temporary accommodations. Shandris, would you please make sure he gets there" she said the purple heard guard next to him.
"Of course high priestess" she said before turning to face Kal "follow me" she as she turned and started moving without waiting for him.
He quickly stood up and grabbed the Trident, placing it on his back, under his cape before he followed after her.
Some days where a lot harder than others, at least that was what Thrall had discovered as he sat back on his throne. This was one of the harder days, he has his experience in warfare. Every orc does but this was a fresh hell completely. The large green Warchief of the Horde leaned back and let out a tired sigh.
He's been at this for hours, he along with his subordinate Vol'jin who had been lending a helping hand. The task was far from simple, dealing with a true monster. Logistics.
The war within Silithus was soon becoming a massive venture for both the Horde and the Alliance. While trying to work out how best to care for a force of such a size, making sure they have a good amount of food, supplies and medical equipment, when they're on the other side of the continent, was not easy.
With every day that past and the more and more reports he received, the work seemed to get harder and harder. At this point he was just grateful that he had Varok down there taking charge of the situation. The old Orc was a veteran of every war Thrall has lived through, he knows how to lead and from what he's been told, things were going as well as they could be. The forward base was established and the Qiraji, while there in numbers and causing problems. They were also being pushed back by the combined forces of the Horde and Alliance.
When the news spread that an Old Gods was responsible for the Qiraji uprising, Thrall was able to get into contact with the only human that he trusted, Jaina Proudmore and from her. They were able to establish a temporary truce in order to defeat the true enemy, something that they did in the past against the forces of the legion.
Though fighting with the Alliance that was a headache he was thankful he didn't have at the moment, that didn't mean this was easy. It was only made harder when the sounds of shouting could be heard outside, both Thrall and Vol'jin looked up from the paperwork on the table and turned to face the entrance as a singular Orc walked in. When Thrall saw the war paint on his shoulder, he knew that he was a member of the Warsong.
"Warchief" the Orc saluted "I bring urgent news from Ashenvale" he said as he dropped to his knee for a moment.
'Oh great' he sighed to himself, the situation with the Warsong was never something he was happy with. Despite what some may think Thrall does seek piece with the Alliance but at the same time they need the lumber that those forests provide in order to live, that's not even mentioning how much they would need to aid in the war effort "and wha news do ya be bringin?" Vol'jin asked.
And so the Orc who Thrall assumed was a scout told them, about how a ball of fire fell from the sky over the Night Elve village. How the Warsong chieftain Gargok sought to take advantage of the chaos and launch an attack on them. "What!" he yelled. This is something Thrall will definitely be having words with him over "I made it perfectly clear for all that starting a war with the Night Elves will not be tolerated!" he surged to his feet and moved over to the scout who held his stance but had his eyes glowed to the ground.
"Tis that why ya here?" Vol'jin said before Thrall could continue "do not tell us ya here to say that deh Elves be killin ya clan" he said stalking forward himself.
"No" the Orc said shaking his head "before a full battle could start, an outsider appeared. He looked human, but the power he wielded was unmatched by all I've seen before" he said.
That caused Thrall to calm down slightly, a human in Ashenvale? I mage seeking to enhance his magical studies perhaps. The Elves and humans work together often "you saw this human?" Thrall asked though his voice was far from calm.
"I did" the Orc confirmed.
"Describe him to me" he ordered, maybe he's seen this human before. A member of the Krin Tor or something similar.
"He was tall for a human, almost as tall as those Night Elves. Dark hair, pale skin. Wore blue clothing with a red cape behind him. The only crest I could see was on his chest, a red S" much to Thralls disappointment, he didn't recognize that at all. In fact it sounded quite strange, he has yet to hear of any human who wore a cape. Yes, a handful of cloaks but never a cape "but that's not the worst part. This human, he's strong. The power he wields is... unknown" the Orc said, no doubt thinking about how best to describe it "he flew into the battle from above, not upon an animal like most others but under his own power. Before our forces could clash, he fired get magical power from his eyes that scorched the ground in front of us all. The heat itself preventing us from moving forward, he landed on the ground with enough force to shake it. He then bested the chieftain Gargok in combat with but a single blow and he was gravely injured when I left"
Thrall didn't say anything at first, just thought about what was said. He didn't think that the scout was lying though that just made it all harder. This was something that Thrall had most definingly never heard of before, that sounds like a magic that was completely unknown to him and while no expert he was knowledgeable "your dismissed, tell Gargok that he is to give his to report to me in person as soon as he is able" he ordered.
The Orc nodded at the order before standing up and turned to leave "what you be makin of tis?" the Troll asked.
"I do not know" Thrall admitted "I've never heard of something like that before"
"Perhaps it be best ta reach out to ya ally" he suggested.
"Jaina" he said to the Troll who nodded back at him "it's a start if nothing else. I'll send a letter, for now. Let's finish this work to make sure the army is well stocked" he said before the two turned back to the desk that was still full of paperwork.
The woman, Shandris led him to the room that he had woken up in and stayed with him as he sat at the end of the bed. He thought that she would stay outside or something "can I ask you something?" he asked her.
If she was surprised that he spoke to her then she didn't show it. Standing just by the side of the closed door, she looked at him calmly "you can ask" she said "whether or not I answer depends on the question?"
'Well, that's something' he thought to himself "what... are you exactly?" he asked.
"Excuse me?" she said back calmy as she leaned against the wall.
"No, sorry... I mean" he stammered for a moment "not you, your people, your species. What are you exactly?" he asked again.
Shandris was quite for a moment as she thought about it, though Clark would take that as a good thing. If she was thinking then there would be a good chance that she would answer "in our own native tongue we're called the Kaldorei, the rest of Azeroth calls us the Night Elves. We're a long lived magically attuned race. We've been here longer than most" she explained.
"Most?" Kal asked before he could stop herself "that's another thing that's gotten me thinking. The ones in the forest, the larger far more bulkier ones the ones that attacked" he started.
"The Orcs" she finished for him.
"Orcs?" he said with a humourless chuckle "Elves and Orcs, that's new. The Orcs then. I've been on many different worlds, do you know how rare it is to have two completely different species develop on one world?" he asked the rhetorical question.
Shandris on the other hand didn't answer the question, nor did she guess. Instead, she told him something else that he didn't know "the Orcs are not native to Azeroth. They arrived on this world decades ago"
Kal opened his mouth to say something but stopped and did a double take at the same time "the ones in the woods with axes and bows. Where able to travel through space?" saying it out loud just made it sound even more ridiculous.
She tilted her head at him "I don't know what this 'space' is but if you mean travel across the stars then no, they did not" she confirmed "no, that was the Draenei. The Orcs arrived on Azeroth through the use of a magical portal. They arrived in great force at the Eastern Kingdoms and started the first war when they attacked"
It was then that Kal stopped for a moment, he should have expected that not every word he uses would be understood. Space is a very relative term, and could be interpreted a dozen different ways "the Draenei?" he asked "so there are three different species on this world?" he asked with a surprised voice.
She shook her head "there are nine" she said back casually "though the argument could be made that there are ten" she added.
Now was the point in which Kal didn't say anything for a moment. His face the expression of shock "nine" was all he said back. She didn't say anything, just nodded back calmly "are er... are most of them from other worlds?" he asked trying to regain his composure.
"No" the answer was immediate with a shake of the head "it is only the Draenei and Orcs that came here from another world. The rest came from Azeroth"
"How..." he started as he placed his hands on his hips "that makes no..." that was when it occurred to him 'magic, of course it's magic' of course that's the reason. This might just be the most magically powerful world he's ever seen and that's saying something and as he's learned the hard way, magic does like to give logic the finger. Of all the worlds to crash on, this might just be the worst one for him, not really as a person but as a Kryptonian "could you tell me about these different races?" he ended up asking.
She looked at him inquisitively for a moment before she gave a shrug "there are my own people, the Draenei, the Gomes, the Dwarfs and the humans. All those races make up one of this worlds two primary factions, the Alliance. On the other side of that coin are the Horde. The ones that are a part of that are the Orcs who you have met already, the Trolls, the Blood Elves, the Tauren and the Undead"
"Wait wait wait, hold on" he interrupted her sounding ruder than he would have liked "did you just say the Undead?" he asked trying to remain calm, in truth he was anything but, it's going to take ages to try and make sense of all of this.
"Yes" she confirmed "though like I said, it's a matter of debate whether or not they can be classed as their own race" she added.
Before Kal could even ask a follow up question about this. The door to the room slowly opened and much to his surprise, it wasn't some guards here to take him back to the court area. It was Tyrande who walked in with a calm step. Shandris stood up with her back straight as she entered though it was clear that she was more relaxed than he expected her to be.
"Kal, I trust you have been kept comfortable?" she asked as she clasped her hands in front of her.
He gave her a small smile and nodded "yes, Shandris was just telling me somethings about the world I've found myself on" he informed her.
"Good" she smiled "there is certainly much you will need to learn about Azeroth, there is quite the history here"
"I imagine" Kal agreed "what was the verdict?" he asked quickly.
Tyrande walked across the room until she was standing beside him "it was certainly a difficult story to believe, the truth is I doubt many of my people do. However, there are many witnesses who saw that you were clearly knocked out when you landed here, it also helped a very great deal that you helped the sentinels defend the village from attack and even protecting those from dangerous hazards in the area" she explained to him.
"But that wasn't enough" he said and of course he was disappointed, but his voice was still calm. It wasn't completely unexpected after all.
"Not yet" she said back calmly with a sympathetic smile "though it did allow me to convince Staghelm to give you the benefit of the doubt. Kal, may I ask what your plan is from here on out?" she asked.
Now that was a question that he had difficulty answers, truthfully, he had no idea. It was way too soon to know what he wanted to do. As of the moment, there were two things that came to mind when it came to what he could do. Number one was that he finds a places on this world away from everyone else where he can place the beacon down and move into the fortress, there was no doubt that he would have to increases its defences to be more suited against magic, difficult but not impossible.
Number two would be to simply leave this world and find another to settle on. It sounds much easier but there were problems with that as well, the most prominent being that Kal still didn't know if he was just taken to another world or a completely other universe, if that was the case then he would be completely alone. No Lantern cores, no New Gods, no allies of any kind. The other problem was this Elune, a part of Kal wanted to stay on this world and find out just why it would send him here.
"For the moment" he started as he reached for the small of his back and when he did the small lump that was there within the suit opened up and he felt the familiar feeling of a hard rock come into his hand "I think it would be best if I find a space away from everyone and build my home" he pulled his hand back out from his back and showed the locator beacon to all present. The more he thought about it, the more he remembered that if worse came worse he could always close up the fortress and move it like he did before.
He could see Tyrande and Shandris's eyes both widen at the sight "what is that?" the priestess asked.
"it's beautiful" she guard added.
"Its technology left over from my people" he explained "I place this on the ground and a radius of two miles gets taken over as my home builds around it" he added.
Tyrande was quite for a moment before responding "So, for you to have your home. You need two miles of space?" she asked.
"That is correct yes" he confirmed with a nod.
She nodded back at him before speaking "While I have no authority to stop you from going to lands beyond our borders and seeking the right place to use. I may be able to give you space within them and that way you'll be around allies" she said calmly though Kal could see that even she didn't sound so sure about that.
"May be able to?" he asked back, catching onto that quite quickly.
"Exactly, as I said not all believed what you told them, but the benefit of the doubt is there and there is a situation where the help of a powerful individual such as yourself would prove useful" she walked over to the nearby table with her right hand glowing, he could see some patterns forming on to "come see" she said.
Walking forward Kal could get a clearer view of what she did "since I'm sure you haven't seen a map just yet, this is Azeroth" he assumed that the spaces in-between the three large landmasses would be the sea "we are here" he pointed to the top left of the left landmass "off the coast of Kalimdor. At the moment, there is a war taking place in the lands of Silithus. A combined force of multiple races, including are own have united in order to face against the threat. An insectoid army called the Qiraji have been marching forward killing everything in their path" she explained. Kal already didn't like where this was going, sure he could understand it, but he didn't like.
"Casualties have been... high" she looked down with a mournful expression "one of the reasons why we were so outnumbered in Ashenvale is because the bulk of our forces are there, I don't like asking this of you. But the power you wield is undeniable and could aid us a great deal. If you go to Silithus and aid in the war effort I believe you can help save a great many lives"
Kal was quite as he moved his hand and placed the beacon back into the pocket on his lower back. He then placed his hands on his hips before turning around and walking a few steps, thinking very clearly about what he should do "I just left a three-year war, I don't want to join another" he said out loud though it was more to himself then the others.
"I know" she said back calmly "and I hate to ask this of you, but it would go a long way towards helping ease the minds of my people. And at the same time there will be many other representatives of the different species present. It would be a good way to introduce yourself to others. I know for without doubt that the Kirin Tor will very much like to talk with you"
He didn't know who the Kirin Tor was and at the moment he didn't care. Sure it made sense to want him to help with a war but if he was going to do this then there would be one thing that he needed to be sure about "these Qiraji" he started "are they another race like you and the Orcs?"
"No" she quickly demined "they are not a sentient thinking species. They are animals that have been corrupted and powered by the Old Gods"
When the words left her mouth Kal turned to face her within the time it took to blink, and his eyes adopted a red hue that made both women take a step back and hold a guarded stance. He knew that he shouldn't have reacted like that but he couldn't help it, the last Old God that he had an interaction with was Trigon and he remembers Darkseid being referred to as both and Old God and a New One 'maybe a different universe so maybe a different meaning' he thought to himself "What. Exactly. Is an Old God?" he asked.
Ok guys, we'll call it here. Again, I would like to apologies for those hardcore Warcraft if there were any major lore mistakes I made in there. Anyway, let me know what you all think in the reviews down below.
