Ok everyone, forget what I said about an uploading schedule, this new one is way better.
Also, I forgot to mention this in the last chapter but shout out too 'Deathevn' for letting me know about Thuddius. Like I said before, I don't know everything about the WoW lore so little hints like that help a lot. If there's other stuff like that pls let me know so I can add it in.
Kal didn't think much of it as the undead zombies and skeleton... spiders? Started to scurry along the walls, most of them crawling along the ground or walls in order to get around him. Why would he? They were made up of magic and bones, regular human bones, he could purse his lips and snap them in half. Sure, it was horrifying to see but much like before with the wailing screams, he's kinda dead to that now.
Kel-Thuzad himself on the other hand. Kal had no mercy in his mind for this monster. He's been told by a handful of sources just who this guy was and what he's done. It's rare for Kal to think that someone is beyond a second chance, but this was one of them. The Lich was taller than he would have thought, much like the other undead. It seemed to be held together by bones and magic, though even he could tell that the magic was a lot stronger than what the others had. Not unexpected.
Though what stood out most to Kal was the Egyptian vibes that he was getting from the lich, the robes his wore and the patterns on him almost remained Kal of the Egyptian Pharaoh's. Another coincidence no doubt, either way, he wouldn't let it distract him.
As the enemies started to swarm all around him, Kal charged forward at top speed. Bringing his fist back, ready to hit the smug mage in his bony face. He slammed it forward though much to his disappointment it connected with something that wasn't his face. An ich or so from the face, a thin white and blue barrier appeared right in front of him. A magical shield blocked him, though he had no intention of stopping here, Kal quickly tested his theory. With great speed he moved behind the lich, kicking one of the large spiders like creatures in the head, knocking it's head off in the process.
When he re-appeared right in behind the lich, he threw another punch. Much like the first it was powerful enough to create a shockwave that sent a strong blast of air in all directions. Kal only started to hear the sounds of laughing coming from the lich before he was forced to duck in order to dodge the rust blade that would have took his head. He then just as fast raised his left hand and blocked a magical blast with his bracelet
"AAAAAAAHHHHHHH!" an incredibly loud screech hit his ears and Kal's sensitive ears took too much of it. Kal winced and as a reflex he brought up both his hands to cover his ears in order to try and help himself, he turned to look at where the sound was coming from and saw the Ghostly visage of a woman, a couple of them. Their mouths were open unnaturally wide, not that there was anything natural about any of this.
In his moment of hesitation, something took advantage. Kal felt an ice wave cover him. Though he was quick to break out of it, as he was doing that, since he was unable to defend himself for just a moment. A large abomination swung, and the dull blade struck his side. Thankfully the blade was not magical so it didn't hurt too much but as he was weakened from both the scream and the ice, his body flew through the air and slammed into a wall.
Looking back, he could see that Kel'Thuzad was just standing there in his shield. Based on his actions, Kal could assume that his plan was that he would use these minions of his to wear him down while he waited for the right opportunity to strike back against him, no doubt in a crippling way.
Such as now, within the second Kal hit the wall, he could see that a powerful magical blast was halfway towards him. He crossed his arms and used the bracelets to block the attack, instead of being pushed back agasint the wall even further. He instead used his legs to push himself forward, the cold blue magic attack was still hitting him as he moved and the bracelets absorbed the attack. Something he was sure he could use later.
He did fly towards the Lich, instead knowing that he would need to deal with the others first. At least until his own guys could arrive and help. Kal instead flew towards the ghostly women, wanting to take them out first before they could scream again. As he flew, his eyes lit up and thankfully while they looked like ghosts, their bodies were still solid. When the beams struck the body, it didn't stand a chance and was sliced in two.
Just before he landed on the ground he reached behind him and pulled the Trident free. When his feet hit the ground, he turned in place and slashed with the prongs in a three sixty twist. Taking the heads of two others in the process "AAAAAHHHHHH!" the third and final he could see screamed again and this time it was much louder as he was closer. He grit his teeth and fought through the pain but he knew he would need a couple of hours in order for the ringing to stop.
He leapt dashed forward with his trident pulled back, when he was in front of the banshee and thrust upwards, the three prongs shot through the jar and up out the top of the skull. Kal sending them both into the air for a moment, however before he could turn around and make a mouth on the rest. Kal felt something strong clamp around his ankle. He looked down and saw that a cold rusted chain was wrapped around him.
He quickly reached down to rip it off but as he did he was pulled back to the ground. Of course, it was normally take an absurd amount of strength to do something like that to him but all the magic in the room was affecting him more then he would like, he didn't want to think about how bad it would be if he didn't have the ring on.
His body slammed into the ground stomach first, there was very little pain, but he could tell that it was going to leave a light bruise. He picked himself up as soon as he landed and he slashed sideways with his weapon, ripping the head from the body of the skeleton. Hearing the lumbering from behind him, he twisted the trident in his hand as he turned, though as he spun it, the weapon slashed and cut the chain that wrapped around his leg.
He didn't even take a step away from that spot behind another was formed, this time going up past his leg and wrapped around his shoulder before going back into the ground, he didn't have time to try and remove it however because he had to block the powerful blow that a lesser abomination that would have cut him in half. He knew it would be due to the magical aura he could sense from the blade.
The second the large silver blade was blocked against his own, Kal's eyes lit up and the top half of the undead body melted away. He took one hand from the trident and gripped the chain that was wrapped around him, crushing it under his strength. He knew that he needed to move away, or at least turn his attention towards the Lich. But he didn't have time, he brought up his left hand in order to block a ball of fire that raced towards him. He then had to swing the trident with his right hand, taking care of a handful of other undead that rushed towards him.
"Resist as much as you desire" he heard Kel'Thuzad speak from beside him, he wanted to turn and deal with him but he looked down and saw more chains appear and wrap around his legs. Kal kicked his legs and they broke apart, but he could tell that they were getting stronger, or he was getting weaker. He needs to end this quickly "No-one is beyond death" he saw a large blast of magic go over his head and towards the wall, he briefly wondering why the lich would miss like that but then he started to think that the lich most likely thought that he had some time of defence that would help him. When the magic blast struck the chamber wall, sun light shined on him and he took comfort in that.
At least that was until the large hole in the wall was filled in with dozens and dozens of undead. The ones from the outside who had been swarming the structure like a colony of ants now had a way in.
Sensing the danger coming from around him he blindly spun the trident around him as the both the three prongs at the front and one at the base of the shaft each took care of a problem, the problem was he could sense many more.
Boooooooom
All those present turned to face the entrance to the chamber and Kal smiled as it blew inwards and before the rubble could even fall all the way. Black armoured figures sprinted through the dust "TAKE THE LICH!" Mograine shouted as he led the charge forwards right at Kel-Thuzad.
"Traitors!" the mage bellowed as he fired a powerful magic blast at them, before it could strike however. A dark shield appeared in front of them as they moved and Blaumeux's staff could be seen being held higher in the air, black smoke was billowing from it.
"Plug tha fuckin hole!" the Dwarf shouted as he charged forward, waving fire all around him as he burned the undead who charged him.
Many of the Death Knights, while being free from control seemed to follow the same chain of command they had before and the rest did as the horsemen ordered.
Kal smiled at their entrance as he swung the trident and broke all the chains that tried to bind him, unlike before however. The Lich was now too busy trying to fend off Mograines heavy sword strikes to bring them back, now that he was free of the chains he moved forward towards the Lich's turned back. As he moved forward, all the Death Knights moved around him and went behind to deal with the undead reinforcements and try and block off their entrance.
Kal leapt into the air with his trident and brought the weapon down on the magic shield, while strong, the force of the blow seemed to be enough to do damage against it. As his feet reached the ground, he brought up his right hand to block the blind swing that the Lich made with a powerful glowing sword that he created from his hands "FACE ME MONSTER!" Mograine shouted as he fired blasts of magic from his free hand right at the Lich.
Kel-thuzad may be powerful but so was he and right now he had to face two different directions in order fight both him and the leader of the Horsemen off. Kal swung the trident downwards and slashed at his legs, thanks to his weakened shield, it broke completely now and the sharp prongs scratched the bones of the enemy. Causing the lich to howl in pain "Insect" it hissed as a powerful blast of magic erupted from it and it pushed everyone back, the Death Knights and the rest of the undead where all knocked onto their backs.
Kal however stayed in the air and looked down at the enemy, seeing a small flash in the corner of his eyes, he looked down to his left wrist, just in front of the bracelets, the fabric of his armour was blinking at him. Smirking at the message he pressed it with his other hand and brought pressed it with his finger, then starting the mental countdown in his head. It would only be a few more moments before they completed the mission.
"NOW!" the leader shouted as he ran forward and to Kal's surprise, Underneath the Death Knight, a blue flame erupted underneath him and a skeletal horse rose from the ground right under him. He stopped running as the saddle moved right under him and allowed him to mount it "THE HORSEMEN RIDE!" Kal didn't doubt that this was something he said a couple of times before but now it was something he wanted to do, he wanted of his own free will to take this monster down.
"FUCIN FINALLY!" another said and Kal turned his head to see the other horsemen all ride forward, the horses appearing underneath them as they did so. Mograine reached him first, all too eager to attack. It made more sense when Kal could look and see that the shield was now down completely.
"I've been meaning to thank you for bringing me back from the dead" Blaumeux said as the other three neared "why don't you let me give you a little peck on the cheek" she added as she raised her staff and fired a blast of dark magic at the lich.
Kel-Thuzad turned to bat away the spell but it left him open to Mograine who was now right next to him, he swung his large blade and it slashed the side of Lich's exposed bones. However, before he could ride away and make another charge, Kel-Thuzad moved quickly and reached out with his large hand, he grabbed Mograine by the back and lifted him free from his horse. The leader struggled to free himself but was not in the best position too.
Before Kal could move forward and help, someone beat him too it "Oh nah you don't" the dwarf said as he rode through the small gap between the floor and the Lich's arm, as he did so. He raised both his hands and formed a large blade that looked like it was made of fire.
Kel-Thuzad hissed as the blade connected and the bony arm fell to the ground just past the elbow, it would see that this monster as some type of pain blocker in his body somewhere. As soon as Mograines body hit the ground he tried to free himself from the hand that was still clamped around him. The lich didn't have even a moment to try and target him however, mainly due to Blaumeux firing a barrage of spells from her staff that hit her target right in the head, making him stumble back. Which was weird to see considering the lich was mostly floating.
Sir Zeliek hopped onto his feet as he rode his horse charging right at Kel'Thuzads back. The now free horseman jumped high and landed on the enemies back, using the same speed Kal's seen before. He scurried up the skeletal back up until he reached the back of his neck. For a moment Kal was worried that Zeliek was going to try for the kill, either forgetting what Kal said or choosing the ignore it, thankfully it seemed he didn't need to worry.
The good sir's sword was on his back still and he didn't try to grab it. He climbed up further and reached around the lich's head with both hands, each one strongly gripping the large tusk like bones that seemed to come from the sides of the skulls jaw "AAAAAHHHHH" he screamed with effort, going so far as to place his boot on the back of the lich's head. Kal'Thuzad was quick to reach up with his remaining hand to try and pry the horsemen off of him but was stopped by a powerful cold chain wrapped around his wrist and pulled him down.
Though it didn't seem like it would stop him. Blaumeux stayed on her horse with her staff in the air with both hands clasping in tight, though there was a notable strain on her face as she fought a battle of magical will that seemed to be losing. Before the lich could break free however, the dwarf appeared by her side and raised his own hands into the air. The ground underneath the lich's arm trembled slightly as another chain broke free from it, though unlike the last this one seemed to be made from metal that bright red with the amount of heat coming off of it.
The two of them together seemed to be enough to not only beat back the lich but bring him closer to the ground. As the chains went deeper into the ground, bringing the lich with them "AAAAAHHHHH!" with one more tug, the two tusks gave way and they both snapped off, Kel'Thuzads body lurched after the attack while Zeliek back flipped and landed on his feet, a showing of impressive stability and acrobatics. Once that was done, Mograine seems to have freed himself from the hand and quickly sprinted around the body that was near the ground. Much like the dwarf before, he sprinted towards the arm that was near the ground and raised his weapon. Jumping slightly in order to get the best hight he needed. He yelled as he swung with sword forward and the blade proved to be more than enough to deal with the bone and it connected just above where the chains clamped.
With both his arms severed and very little in the way of defending himself without that, at least to his mind. Kal lowered himself closer to the ground and reached for his waist, quickly grabbing the lasso he used his speed to spin it around and threw it. It wrapped around the lich's chest and Kal pulled it, tightening the hold. Before Kel-Thuzad had a moment to think about what just happened Kal pulled even tighter and lifted the lich into the air. Turning around he brought the lasso with him and pulled it forward.
The lich found himself flying into the air before slamming into the ground. Not that Kal gave him a moment to think about what he should do next, he pulled tugged the lasso towards him, causing the lich to fly towards him. When the lich reached him, he pulled his fist back and it connected with the skull, the bone cracking under his force.
This time Kal allowed him to fall back to the ground, seeming to be dazed but he didn't want to risk it, thankfully he didn't need to. Flashes of red caught his attention, and the familiar sound of mechanical humming caught was heard. A smirk came onto his face as he looked up to the back of the chamber. The Death Knights were doing a great job of making sure that the rest of the forces of Naxxramas couldn't swarm around them. A think row of undead plugged the hole and killed all who entered.
The bodies of the enemy were starting to pile up and for a moment Kal thought that they planned to plug the hole using their own dead bodies. Though when he looked past all of that, he could see his own allies. The flashes of red got brighter, and the Death knights found themselves moving back ready to defend themselves agasint what's coming. It wasn't needed this time, not even a minute later, the bodies of the enemy that started to block the hole in the chamber began moving. Like the ones at the bottom, buried by the rest where somehow picking themselves up.
Kal wasn't concerned about that though, as the small hill of corpses collapsed and above it, the same collection of drones started to slowly fly into the chamber "Alright everyone!" Kal shouted, earning the attention of the others "form a small perimeter outside, make sure none of them get any ideas" they started to move outwards without another word. Turning his head away from them and over his shoulder towards the horsemen, all the while more and more drones started to make their way inside, no doubt after using their weapons to deal with those outside "go with them, make sure we have no surprising"
He didn't need to be able to see through solid objects to see their expressions, even if they still wore their helmets it would have been easy to see their frowns. Clearly not liking the idea of leaving the enemy without killing him "AAAAAHHHHHH!" the lich screamed as a drone hovered in the air on their side of him and three arms of each one opened up and fired three different beams of energy that looked like lightening. Both of them clamping onto the stubs that was left of his arms. Lifting him up into the air and locking him in place so he couldn't move.
"Remember the plan" he told them all, each one taking some joy in seeing the pain the lich was in "now go help the others" his tone of voice left little room for argument and each of the horsemen started to leave. Mograine was the last and eyed Kal coldly before moving off as well.
He could hear the fighting outside easily enough, though he doubted the fighting would last long. Turning around he looked at the lich, the lasso still wrapped around the neck, he was stuck in a T-pose an unable to move "you have availed nothing" Kel-Thuzad spat at Kal as the alien hovered in the air and rose until he was eye level with undead lich "I will never betray the master"
'Truth' he thought to himself, noting the lasso glowing around his neck. That was fine, he didn't ask the questions yet "we'll see" Kal said remembering what he was told earlier. He moved closer and pulled back the small robes that covered his chest, seeing a pocket and the lump inside of it. He smirked, reached into the pocket.
He wouldn't like, being able to see the look of fear on the skeletal face was both impressive considering he didn't have skin to form expressions and it was satisfying to see as well. Pulling out the urn that fit snuggly in the palm of his hand "Don't worry, I'll take very good care of it until I figure out how useful you are or how useful you want to be to me" with that said he flicked the lasso off the lich's neck and started to make his way towards the exit to the chamber "take him to the cell" he ordered.
He didn't even have to turn around to see the large Boomtube open and the lich to be taken away to his cell that he would be locked in, ready for interrogation. Most of the drones stayed behind however and followed Kal as he floated out of the chamber. For the first time since bringing it down, he stepped out into the open air and what he saw was a battlefield.
The entire army of undead was converging on the Death Knights that where doing everything they could to hold the line, while they've been outnumbered the entire time, they no longer had the narrow corridors to their advantage. They would be overwhelmed if nothing changed, though it was fine because he was here now.
Grabbing the trident from his back, Kal rose into the air and fired a powerful blast of heat vision from his eyes, much like he did in Silithus it was a red sheet of death that killed all the undead it touched. Though it didn't get all of them of course. Quickly charging forward to the ground, he landed right at the front of the Death Knights and crushed an abomination with his feet "FORWARD!" he shouted as he started to run forward, killing all who got close to him. Behind him the rest of the Death Knights charged forward and above them, the drones provided air support to the rest. Now the real battle of the Plague lands began.
It was bitter work.
That was the one thought that probed Kal's mind as he stabbed the base of the Trident into the ground and looked out across the battlefield. Three hours they've been at it now. It was just about wrapped up, only a couple of stragglers left and they were being picked off quickly.
It wasn't so much of a fight as it was a slaughter. With the leadership of the undead taken down and only a handful of true Death Knights to fight against them. Not to mention Kal himself and his drones to lend their aid. He was tempted to not even call it a battle but a culling instead.
While they fought in the front of it all, Kal took a moment to order some of the drones to enter the necropolis and take research items, mainly magical items and weapons from Kel'Thuzad's chamber but also a lot of samples of this green liquid that was the undead plague itself. Definitely something he would want to look into, he might even be able to reverse engineer it and use it agasint them or turn it into a cure for it. He would need to take a lot of time to look into this.
"We have a problem" a voice called out to him, looking to the right, he could see Fila quickly climb up the rubble towards him.
"What is it?" he asked turning to look at her.
Stopping next to him, she placed a hand on his shoulder and pointed towards the horizen "look closer, the crusaders are charging" there was a grim tone in her voice but also one of excitement. That was something that Kal noticed as the fighting went on, the Death Knights and even the horsemen really started to enjoy the fighting. He saw countless smiles and cheers, even as they were getting cut and injured. A part of him was concerned about it but for now he but it away, he's seen a lot of different cultures that enjoy a good fight, both human and alien. The Amazons being a good example.
Following Fila's finger, he looked miles into the distance, and he saw what she meant. Past a line of still alive trees, he could both hear and see a large gathering of horses and what looked like knights on top of them. He knew that he would need to talk to the Scarlet Crusade at some point, but if he stayed and did that now, it would just mean that he would need to stop them from fighting the enemy they want to attack the most, the undead. While at the same time stopping the Death Knights from fighting when they seem to want it more.
That just wasn't going to happen.
He looked away from the charging crusaders and to his left, a drone was in the air waiting by his side for any orders that he would give them "gather all the Death Knights and follow my lead. We're done here" as soon as the order was given, that same drone fired a blue beam at Fila and she was lifted into the air. Across the battlefield, all the drones fired the same one at the rest of the Death Knights and they flew towards Kal.
Flying up into the air, he started to fly away from the immediate threat and somewhere else. He still needed to figure out what he was planning on doing with this lot, it would be up to them of course but he had an idea that might just work.
Alright everyone, we shall call it there for now. What did you guys think of the fight, I'm happy with it but I know Kal didn't do a lot against the lich himself as I wanted the Horsemen to have their own revenge against him. Anyway, let me know what you all thought in the reviews down bellow and I'll see you all in the next chapter.
