Chapter 7: The Quest

Annabeth POV
Annabeth was frantic in her search for Percy. She felt terrible about what she had done once she learned he had heard it all from Aphrodite she needed to find him and apologise. Leo had spent all the waking hours of the day as entranced in his task as Annabeth was working on the ship which he had decided to name the Argo 2. A fitting name seeing what their voyage was and they also had a Jason like the original had as well.
Anytime she wasn't at camp Half-Blood she was out searching for Percy, questioning nature spirits, minor gods, Iris messaging anything she could. She needed to find him she was once known for her knowledge but now her mind was solely focused on finding him it was as if her life depended on it.
Reyna POV
Reyna woke up very happy and excited still thinking about her moment with Percy the previous night she thanked Venus for replaying that memory in her mind the whole night. Reyna still remembered what he had done to her on Circe's island she hadn't completely forgiven him but the more time she was around him the closer she came to forgiving him. She thought about the last moment on the island and realized with a shock it wasn't even his fault her fists involuntarily clenched in anger as she figured out it was the Annabeth girl's fault. ( Hylla told her Circe was turning the men into pigs) She had changed all the terrible men back into humans and had let them destroy kidnap and kill almost everything on the island. In that moment all the blame was taken from Percy and placed on Annabeth. After Reyna's moment of realization, she calmed down and remembered what today was. Percy and his group were leaving on their quest today, and she was very nervous not only because if they failed the camp was doomed but also for Percy she had only been with him for a few days but she felt close to him he was one of her only friends at camp ( being the leader kinda scared potential friends) and she didn't want to lose him so early into their she thought for a moment what were they? They had kissed a few times on different occasions but she wouldn't say they were dating they were close, but finally, she just settled on friends. After finding the term for their relationship she was anxious again which wasn't a feeling she showed very often as the leader she had to show yourself as strong and confident weakness made people doubt you and when that happened problems occurred. Normally she had someone to lean on she had Jason but he had left without a trace and she had to shoulder all the weight of the world. Reyna steadied herself emotionally and went out to send the questers off.
As Reyna got to the exit that had been decided for the questers she waited it was part of her job to send them off and she always liked to be early for that. She stared into the distance in the direction of the 5th cohort barracks and saw three silhouettes walking towards her two boys and one girl. All from the fifth she thought let's see how this goes. Once they reached her she greeted each of them formally and turned to Frank "So you wish to travel by sea" she asked "Yes" he responded "It's our safest bet" " just wanted to make sure, because our navy is lacking you may be better off borrowing a boat" all three questers nodded in understanding they shouldered their packs and walked off to where Terminus was waiting for them as they walked away Percy turned to her and gave her his regular troublemaker smile which in the past few days she had grown to adore with her heart fluttering she returned his smile albeit with more red on her face then he did.
I will not cover how the quest goes I may have a few dream sequences for Percy and Reyna but the quest continues just as it did in the book.
