Carcassone. Another medieval city in the sights of our crew to advance through before they can make it to their next destination in France. Dimunitive as it sounds, this village has over 50 residents who call this place home. Our heroes had let Pepito hold the Olympic Flame while arriving in Carcassonne, with attractions that await in this medieval-themed area. They strolled through the medieval town while keeping their eyes peeled for any villains, while our crew danced with the locals along with the Phryges who were practicing their dance moves albeit hilariously outside the Chateau Pennautier.
Later, our crew felt hungry that they will never be able to reach Paris with all the supplies Obelix had consumed during the journey. The Phryges tried to search for anything, until they found something the crew would be able to afford. The Brasserie A Quatre Temps has a special offer with 16 euros for a shared meal with different courses. They then entered the restaurant, with a chef greeting them warmly. "Bonjour my dear guests! You look tired as usual, mind if we help you take ze Olympic Flame to Paris? You guys must be the ones who are headed for ze City of Lights!"
"Oui, you are correct; monsieur. Anything for cassoulets, please! We can afford to have cassoulets before we get to Paris!" Gaulois answered.
"Heh, I never get fatigued, I love what I do!" replied the chef as he went off to work. "Cassoulets up on ze menu next, monsieurs! Zey need our help to replenish ze energy they need!"
The heroes settled down and had cassoulet. Etno, Gaulois and have paid for the price and they chowed down with the others. Obelix was then taught to share food, so our heroes will never go hungry on the journey again which will lead to shortage of supplies. After eating, our heroes felt full and thanked the chef. They continued their journey through Carcassonne until they heard something. Noises came from the direction where our crew was headed towards, with the Phryges pointing to where it came from.
"Over there, mon amis! A rugby match! Even my little hat friends love that sport too!" Gaulois shouted. The Phryges were taking them to the final of the All-French Rugby Championship Ligue 3rd in the Stade Albert Domac, with the home team of Carcassonne facing off against the away of team of Tarbes. The team from Carcassonne displayed such quick tackling skills and lightning-fast touchdowns that made the crowds cheer. Carcassonne has shed the tag of being the underdog and now they are looking forward to compete in the top-tier leagues next, with another trophy that awaits their victory!
The awards ceremony was here at last, with our heroes witnessing the new champions Carcassonne taking first place. Just before the organizers can hand over the golden rugby trophy to the team, a mayor appeared from the shadows, showing up by using a smoke bomb and said, "Well, well, what do we have here? Another pathetic event?"
"It is you who should be labelled pathetic!" responded Madeline. She then asked, "What is your name then, Mr. Villain?"
"I am Mayor Humdinger, hater of dogs and the most competent mayor of all!" proclaimed the mayor. "And I am here to take you guys down so that I will prove my competence by spoiling the moments for the champions in Carcasonne!"
"Didn't you forget to put the "so-called" in your sentence? You look incompetent as usual judging by your looks." roasted Rayman sarcastically.
Mayor Humdinger was so mad that he quickly ran over and snatched the golden rugby ball trophy, and said "If I have that tag of "so-called" stuck onto me, I shall shed it and prove my villainy levels are way higher than yours! Try and catch me, losers!" Mayor Humdinger taunted. "That rugby ball trophy is mine, and no one but me shall have that precious baby!"
"Get him!" Asterix shouted, leading the entire crew along with the Phryges to chase after Mayor Humdinger. The chase begins in the Carcassonne Castle, cat-and-mouse style. Mayor Humdinger was dodging the directions of his pursuers, which made that scenario similar to a Hanna-Barbera cartoon involving Tom and Jerry or Scooby Doo. Mayor Humdinger tried finding paths to evade his captors, while the heroes along with the Phryges followed. was left by its driver who went to the toilet, and he quickly activated the truck and drove off.
"After him!" Gorgious shouted, the heroes found a bus to help them go after the villain. Our heroes then told the bus driver and boarded the bus, beginning the chase. The heroes are now in pursuit after Mayor Humdinger in the bus, who is driving with the rugby trophy in his hands.
Boss – Mayor Humdinger
Mayor Humdinger drove past the villages, and he was recklessly driving. He then found some items and snatched them, throwing them to slow our heroes down. The crew were in the bus, dodging the items Mayor Humdinger threw at them. Our heroes caught up with the truck, pacing after him until they saw something in front of the truck's direction.
The truck skidded to a halt and Mayor Humdinger was terrified. A German Shepherd pup in a petit police car along with a kid in a motorcycle showed up in front of him. Mayor Humdinger also felt the truck being lifted, and he looked up. Another dog was riding a helicopter, and the truck was being lifted! Mayor Humdinger was so shocked that he dropped the trophy, and the trophy landed safely in the kid's hands. The helicopter then dropped the truck, with Mayor Humdinger being surrounded by incensed glares of the heroes along with the Phryges, "Let's not get rough here, shall we?" pleaded Mayor Humdinger as he was cornered by the heroes. The heroes then carried Mayor Humdinger into a cannon, and Obelix stuffed Mayor Humdinger inside it. Pepito lit the fuse, thus launching Mayor Humdinger into the air.
"Blast you, heroes! I will be back for my revenge and no one can stop me forever! You will never defeat me as always! EVER!" Mayor Humdinger said as he disappeared in the sky with a twinkle.
"Au revoir, Mayor Humdinger! Catch you later in Foggy Bottom!" taunted the kid.
"Such teamwork! You guys work like peanut butter and jelly!" Etno commented in awe. "Who are you guys who helped us save the day?"
"The name is Ryder, good sirs." replied the kid. "We have been chasing our common enemy, which was that Mayor Humdinger who recently stole that trophy from that competition. Thanks to you, we have taught him another good lesson for not stealing again!"
"Hello, the name is Chase, and this is Skye! And there are my friends, Zuma, Rocky, Marshall and Rubble!" "Thank you for helping us apprehending Mayor Humdinger." greeted the German Shepherd pup, along with puppies of different breeds: Dalmatian, English bulldog, Cockapoo, Labrador and a mixed-breed. The puppies had their own roles in different uniforms, and they together form a team. "Together, we are the Paw Patrol!"
"When you have a problem, yelp for help!" said Ryder. "We will also be there in the City of Lights too! See you guys later and thanks for helping us!"
The crew then parted ways with the Paw Patrol who is returning the trophy to the winning home team Carcassonne, and they had started their journey for their next destination in France, Auch. It was the site known for "The Three Musketeers" written by Alexander Dumas, with Genos waiting to give Gaulois something here.
Meanwhile in the hideout in Paris….
"Humiliating failures come on the scale of 1 to 10, and Mayor Humdinger is no exception. He deserves an 11 for not trying to stop the Paw Patrol for even once!" growled Lila furiously. "How can he be so incompetent while he tries to prove himself competent?!"
"It is natural of him of being incompetent despite him being classified as a villain, mistress. The next batch of villains shall prove their competence, I hope." whispered Ixalia Mazlan. "What's next for those no-goodniks, Arfoire?"
"Those villains have failed to destroy that rabbit while he was going to Tokyo, do you think I should hire those same inferior bunglers who cannot understand such simple commands again?!" Arfoire replied madly. An Afro haired women went over to Arfoire's side, ready to say something.
"Fraid not." the Afro haired woman replied. "With the next batch of competent villains I have handpicked, we shall execute that plan really well so that fiendish feathered fowl will be history!"
