I do not own any of the following.
To say that Bruce was angry at the whole situation would be the understatement of the century! He was beyond furious with his number one fan; Bat-Mite!
"I can't believe that little all-powerful jerk from a fifth dimension did this to me! Justice League? Brainiac? Getting executed by Harley Quinn? What on Earth was he talking about?"said Bruce to himself, wondering what Bat-Mite meant by all of that.
He couldn't ask the guy from the fifth dimension himself since he was probably without a doubt back in the fifth dimension.
"I have a distinct feeling he's not going to let me go home until I do what he wants... So he wants me to do this Pokemon trainer business? But I don't even know where to start."said Bruce to himself before he suddenly felt like he got a headache.
It was in that moment that a bunch of information about the creatures known as Pokemon, including their move poles and abilities, was downloaded into his head all at once! Bruce nearly fell over upon downloading all that information of the over a thousand species of known pokémon, their abilities, their move pools, etc!
A couple of moments later, after what felt like an eternity, the pain subsided, and Bruce was allowed to get back up. As soon as he got back up, he immediately knew what his number one fan wanted him to do... and he had a distinct feeling that he wasn't going to go home anytime soon until he did it.
"Haaaa... I suppose I should go meet up with this Pokemon Professor, and ask them for a Pokemon. I'm sure it's not weird for a middle-aged man to do that... Wait..."said Bruce, who felt like something was off.
That is when he be on inspecting his body and noticed that all of his wrinkles from years of crime fighting was gone...So he quickly ran over to a nearby puddle to look himself over, and saw that he was in his early twenties!
"Bat-Mite... He made me significantly younger. Ahh, I better not experience teenage hormones again...Once was bad enough."said Bruce to himself, although he had a feeling that wouldn't be the case.
After all, his number one fan wouldn't allow that!
With a clear goal in mind, Bruce began walking towards Wedgehurst, the town he was closest to to find the Pokemon lab, hoping that the Pokemon Professor of this region was there, and they would be willing to give him a Pokemon.
"How am I going to explain my background? I mean, most trainers start out when they're around 10 to 11 years old... which I honestly think is a little bit too young to explore the world, but who am I to talk."said Batman, who remembers going to find his teachers when he was no older than 9!
But that wasn't the point!
"The point I'm trying to make to myself is how am I going to explain my age Gap. I guess I could say something along the lines that I was too busy to go on my Pokemon Journey, and it would technically be the truth."said Bruce to himself, knowing that he of all people did not have a happy childhood.
He never had much of a childhood at all!
About half an hour of walking later, Bruce arrived at a town filled with all kinds of houses, businesses, a train station, and what appeared to be a huge purple building with a pokeball symbol on the front.
"That's the Pokemon lab."said Bruce to himself before he began making his way to the lab.
A couple of moments later, he arrived at the front door and knocked.
"Come in."said female voice on the other side.
Upon hearing permission to go in, Bruce quickly made his way inside. He saw that it was a huge building with filled with books, a mini living area, a research part of the lab, and what appeared to be a mini habitat for plant life at the far end.
"Can I help you?"inquired a beautiful woman with orange red hair tied in a ponytail from what appeared to be the second floor.
She was wearing a green shirt, which was covered by a brown fashionable jacket, tight blue jeans, green boots, and what appeared to be a handbag underneath her coat. On her head was a pair of glasses, and she had all kinds of heart accessories all over her hair.
"Are you the Pokemon Professor?"inquired Bruce, hoping that this lovely lady was the person he was looking for.
"I'm sorry, but I'm just her assistant. I also happen to be her granddaughter, Sonia Magnolia."said the girl, identifying herself as Sonia, just as she made her way to the first floor of the lab.
"I see... When will she be back?"inquired Bruce, wondering when Professor Magnolia would be back in the lab.
"She'll be back in a few minutes. But is there anything I can do in the meantime?"inquired Sonia with interest.
"I'm actually here to inquire if I can acquire a starter Pokemon."said Bruce, seeing no reason to hide why he was here.
"Huh... you're a little old to be starting out your journey. Although, that isn't that uncommon nowadays."said Sonia, as she looked Bruce up and down, and a smile appeared on her face.
"What's your name?"inquired Sonia with interest.
"My name is Bruce; Bruce Wayne."replied Bruce, who felt a little uncomfortable getting stared at.
He was used to getting stared at, but that was when he was in his Batman costume. He wasn't used to being looked at so closely as Bruce Wayne!
Sonia, meanwhile, was admiring Bruce, particularly the muscles that could be seen through his jacket and shirt.
"Huh... sorry... You said your name was Bruce."said Sonia, who didn't appear to be listening, as her mind was preoccupied...
"I said my name is Bruce Wayne."said Bruce, who hated repeating himself.
"Well, I have no problem showing you the Pokemon we have right now. If you would be willing to look at them."said Sonia with a smile.
"I'll be happy to look at them."said Bruce, since the faster he finishes this journey, the faster he gets to go home... he thinks..
Sonia then smiled before pulling out three pokeballs and tossing them into the air. A moment later, the three pokeballs opened up to release the three pokémon they contained inside towards the ground. A blast of light came out of the pokeballs before said light hit the ground. A few seconds later, the light dissipated, and three Pokemon came out of the light.
The first Pokemon is a small, monkey-like Pokémon with a green body, a brown tail, brown wedge-shaped ears, orange hands and feet, and an orange snout. Each of its hands has five fingers, while each of its feet has three toes. It has two large white eyes with black irises. A lime green mask pattern frames its eyes and extends towards its forehead in a small bump above its snout.
"This is the chimp Pokemon, the grass type Grookey."said Sonia, identifying the Pokemon by its name.
The second Pokemon is a rabbit-like Pokémon that has a predominantly white body with orange and yellow markings on its ears, toes, and neck. The markings on its neck resemble a collar. It has buckteeth, black beady eyes with orange accents, and an orange nose with a yellow band shape across it, resembling a bandage. It has long legs with long feet and similar yellow bands under each paw pad. It also has a small, white, poofy tail.
"This is the rabbit Pokemon. Say hello to the fire type Pokemon, Scorbunny."said Sonia, identifying the second Pokemon.
The third and final Pokemon is a small lizard-like Pokemon. It has light-blue skin, with darker blue patches on its cheeks and the tip of its curled tail and a lighter blue belly and face. It has white eyes with dark blue irises. It also has a yellow fin on the top of its head, held by a dark blue spine. The Pokemon has thin limbs, each of them ending in two curved hands resembling those of a chameleon.
"And this is the water lizard Pokemon. Say hello to the water type, Sobble."said Sonia, identifying the third Pokemon.
Bruce looked over each pokémon carefully and weighed his options.
"From what I gathered, grass type Pokemon have a lot of weaknesses...And this one doesn't appear to fit in my nature. Sobble is a water type, and water types do not have a lot of weaknesses, but I do not like the fact that it looks at me and looks like it wants to cry. Now Scorbunny, on the other hand, is looking at me with determination... I can tell this one has a hardy nature, ready to thrash about! Hmm... maybe it won't be such a bad idea to take him.' thought Bruce to himself, who considered taking the rabbit Pokemon.
It was in that moment that something busted into the lab! Bruce and Sonia looked up to see it was some kind of Pokemon.
The Pokemon in question is a blue, chiropteran Pokémon. While it lacks eyes, it has pointed ears with purple insides and a mouth with two sharp teeth on each jaw. It has purple wing membranes supported by two elongated fingers and two long, thin tails.
"A Zubat! What is a Zubat doing in Galar! Did it come from the Crown Tundra?"wondered Sonia, identifying the Pokemon to Bruce.
"So...A bat like Pokemon. Now that's more my style."said Bruce with a smile before he noticed the bat Pokemon approaching him.
It was at that moment that he realized that it tried to attack him using wing attack! Bruce was prepared to fight back, but for some reason, he couldn't find himself to punch it! It was as if there was some kind of mental block that was preventing him from punching anything!
"Bat-Mite!"growled Bruce under his breath, realizing his number one fan was responsible for this.
Bruce was about to do a tactical retreat when the fire type Pokemon, Scorbunny, jumped in front of him, like it was ready to take on Zubat!
The bat Pokemon did not relent with its attack! It quickly flew over to the rabbit Pokemon with the intention of using the flying type move against it!
"Use tackle!"ordered Bruce, causing the rabbit Pokemon to quickly avoid getting hit with wing attack before it tackled the bat Pokemon, causing damage.
Zubat didn't appear to be happy that it got tackled, so I quickly tried to use supersonic.
"Dodge it!"ordered Bruce, causing the rabbit pokémon to quickly jump into the air to avoid getting hit with supersonic!
"Use ember!"ordered Bruce, figuring they should switch too long range.
Scorbunny quickly did as he was told and unleashed a small blast a fire towards Zubat! The bat Pokemon was quickly caught off guard, and before it could do anything, it was struck with ember!
"Finish this off with tackle!"ordered Bruce, causing the rabbit Pokemon to quickly run over towards the Zubat he was fighting on tackle him!
This knocked the bat Pokemon to the ground.
"Quick, use this pokeball!"shouted Sonia, as she gave Bruce a pokeball.
"Let's see if I still got it."said Bruce, since throwing a pokeball shouldn't be that different from throwing a batarang!
"Go pokeball!"shouted Bruce before he threw the pokeball towards Zubat.
The bat Pokemon was barely getting up when it was struck with the pokeball! It quickly bounced off its head before the pokeball opened up and absorbed Zubat inside! A moment later, the pokeball closed and landed on the floor before it began wiggling. Bruce, Sonia, and Scorbunny were busy looking at the pokeball, hoping that Zubat wouldn't escape!
Grookey and Sobble on the other hand were hiding behind a nearby chair...
The pokeball wiggled for a few more seconds before it stopped moving in a click sound was heard! This indicated that the bat Pokemon had been successfully captured!
"Yes!"said Bruce, who didn't know why he was so happy, but he was.
He quickly picked up the pokeball and inspected it.
"Good."was all Bruce would say.
Scorbunny meanwhile jumped on his trainer shoulder. Bruce looked over at the rabbit Pokemon, who obviously wanted a fist bump, so he quickly returned it.
"I have a feeling you and me are going to get along."said Bruce, who for some reason fell close to the rabbit Pokemon.
"I couldn't agree more."said an old woman as she came into the lab.
She was wearing a yellow dress that was covered by a lab coat. She eyeglasses over her eyes, and her gray hair tied neatly. She was also using a wooden cane to get around.
"You must be Professor Magnolia."said Bruce, quickly deducing that this woman was the Pokemon professor he was looking for.
"I saw that Zubat came flying into the lab, and I got worried. But it looks like you got that troublesome Scorbunny to listen to you, and now Zubat is in your possession."said the professor with a smile.
"Troublesome?"inquired Bruce, looking over at the rabbit Pokemon as he said that.
"That Scorbunny is particularly tough. But for this reason, it will not listen to newbie trainers. I was worried about what to do with him, but it appears he found a partner in you. May I please have your name?"inquired Professor Magnolia, offering her hand to shake.
"I'm Bruce Wayne."said Bruce, identifying himself, just as he shook the professor's hand.
"It's nice to meet you, Mr Wayne. I overheard most of your conversation with my granddaughter, so I know you want to become a Pokemon trainer even though you appear to be my granddaughter's age. While it is unusual for someone your age to just barely start out their journey, I'm sure you have your reasons. I will not ask them since I can tell from a glance that you are a good person. Just promise me you will take good care of Scorbunny, Zubat, and whatever other Pokemon you add to your team. Pokemon are tough creatures. Don't get me wrong, but they also have feelings."said Professor Magnolia.
"I understand. I, too, know that individuals have feelings, and I'll do my best to keep them in consideration."said Bruce, who looked over at Scorbunny, who reminded him of asserting young man who taught him family is the one you choose, not the people you are born with.
A sorting young man who he is sure is defending Gotham as we speak!
"Good. Sonia, can you please give this man a rotom phone with the Pokedex app, along with the pokeballs he needs to capture a new Pokemon."said Professor Magnolia to her granddaughter.
"Right away."said Sonia before she excused herself to another part of the lab.
A moment later, she came back with an orange phone with a face of a rotom on it, along with a dozen or so pokeballs.
"This is a rotom phone, a special phone with a rotom inside. It will help you out in a bunch of situations. All you have to do is point it out of pokémon, and the Pokedex app will activate."said Sonia, explaining the rotom phone.
Once she was finished, she handed the phone over to Bruce, along with the over a dozen pokeballs.
"Thank you."said Bruce, appreciating the sentiment.
Sonia said nothing as she just blushed since Bruce happened to be her type.
"Now before you go to the Wild alArea, much less take on the Gym Challenge. I suggest you go to the local Pokemon Mart and stock up on supplies, including camping supplies. You will have to spend many nights outside as a Pokemon trainer, so I suggest you get yourself prepared."said Professor Magnolia, giving this kind of advice to all kinds of new trainers.
"I understand."simply said Bruce before he left the lab with Scorbunny and Zubat.
Sonia and Professor Magnolia waving goodbye to him the whole time.
"Stop looking at his butt, dear."said Professor Magnolia, making her granddaughter blush.
"Huh?!"said her granddaughter.
"Don't play dumb. I know he's your type."said the professor with a cheeky smile.
"Grandma!"shouted Sonia, embarrassed to no end.
Bruce, meanwhile, was none the wiser to any of this. He was too busy wondering how he was going to pay for everything when he had no money. That is when his starter pokémon felt up his pocket and pulled out what appeared to be a polka-dollar card.
"For once Bat-Mite... you're not a complete pain in the neck."said Bruce, realizing his number one fan was responsible for that.
So with plenty of money on hand, Bruce quickly recalled Scorbunny back to his pokeball before he went to a nearby Pokemon Mart to buy necessary supplies.
After all, the sooner he completes this Pokemon Journey, the sooner he can find a way to get back home!
