The gods are quiet

It was a starry night at temple.

Mr. Gao lit up a brazier and put some reddish fur inside it.

While the fur was slowly burning he started a rite in Chinese language.

Meanwhile the three girls with a woman and a man with glasses were assisting quietly but anxiously.

The rite was still going on. Why it was taking so long? That wasn't a good sign.

Mr. Gao was playing the rite then he was quiet, he played the rite again.

Silence.

"So?" the woman said anxiously.

The old Chinese man turned his head.

"It's not easy to explain!" he answered.

"What did the gods tell you?" the chubby girl asked.

Gao lowered his head slowly.

"They told me there's something wrong about her! Something that made her animal spirit took over her human part! That's why she lost the control of her powers!"

The group stayed quiet.

"But we already know this!" the woman said.

"Yeah..." the chubby girl said.

"We want to know the solution for this problem!" the girl with glasses said.

"I tried to ask a solution but… they didn't answer me! Maybe they were trying to give me an answer but they were taking so long. I fear they don't know the solution!"

"How can it be?" the woman said.

"The gods can't help us?" the girl with braces said.

"But if the gods can't help us then how can we find a solution?"

"Perhaps..." the man with glasses said after a long silence.

"….if can't find a solution with the gods help then we can try with something the gods don't know!"

"What are you talking about Jin?" his wife said.

"I mean we can try with… science. Perhaps the science can give us a solution, Ming!"

The group stayed quiet for a while.

"You said your friend Bruce is an officer? Then he should have a laboratory in the department we can use!"

The group thought for a while.

"I guess we can try it!" the girl with glasses said.

"So there's no time to waste!" the woman answered.
